Chapter Six
It wasn't even noon yet and Neji Had run across the entire village looking for Satomi. He had went to her place of work and they kindly let him know that she didn't have work today or tomorrow. So heading to her house was next and he was greeted with no one. "Shikamaru, Sasuke and Shino… lazy, emo, and bug boy..she sure attracts the weirdos." Neji muttered. Neji jumped down then landed in front of Sasuke and Sakura and glared. "Where is Satomi?"Neji growled in Sasuke face. Sasuke sighed. He really want to punch the Hyuga in the face but that would upset Satomi. "I'm not sure, but since you are here, you need to leave her alone, which means stop putting your mouth and hands on her." Sasuke spat as his sharingan activated due to the fact that he didn't like Neji at all and was now ready for a fight despite how Satomi would feel.
Neji laughed. "You can't tell me what to do."
Sasuke smirked. "I won't have to tell you anything, but we will keep her away from you by force if needed."
Neji glared. "Whatever." he then jumped to the rooftop before taking off leaving Sasuke with a now pissed off Sakura. "Who is Satomi!?" Sasuke sighed before turning away and taking off hopefully to find Shino so they can find Satomi before a certain Hyuga could.
Having left Sasuke, Neji soon narrowed in on his cousin's chakra. Following that he jumped down in front of their training before turning his attention to Shino. "Where's Satomi?" Neji growled. Shino stared at Neji and sighed. "Does it look like I am with her?" Shino asked sarcastically. Hinata soon approved. "What happened to Satomi?" She had asked worried. Sighing Neji looked at her. "Nothing that I know of." he admitted. Hinata sighed. "I knew this would happen but father told me to but out." Hinata said sadly. She shook her head at Neji.
After the dinner at her house Hinata wanted to help Neji confess to Satomi but her father had other plans. Plans that she was told to be not apart of. But seeing how Neji has been acting and that she hasn't seen Satomi in a few days something must have happened.
Shino then gave Neji a cold look under his shades. "I think you should go home and leave Satomi alone, me and Sasuke will find her. And for someone in the exams you should be training." Shino then began to walk away with Hinata in tow. "She is way too kind hearted and innocent to be a toy." Shino said as the two walked away from Neji. Neji's eyebrows twitch and his demeanor changed drastically.
"No one can tell me what to do, Satomi is her own person. If anything they should be staying away from her. She should tell me what to do not these idiots," Neji whispered to himself. He soon then stormed off to continue to look for Satomi. He was going to train like Shino had suggested so he can beat any of those low life genin. He wanted to show them she was his and no one else's.
Shikamaru became full from the bento lunch that Satomi and him had shared. She had truly outdid herself with the onigiri filled with tuna and the stuffed vegetables she made. Both of them were laying down and enjoying the bright blue sky. And the white fluffy clouds above them. Shikamaru had his hands behind his head while Satomi had her hands on her stomach. Shikamaru glanced over at the girl next to him and actually saw her features. Her pink plump lips, her snowy flawless olive complexion. Her hair was beautiful long blue locks. Satomi was breathing so evenly and slow. Shikamaru leaned over and saw that she had fallen asleep. Shikamaru smirked and laid down himself and began to doze off with the thought that actually had something in common.
A few hours have passed and the sun was coming down. Shikaku was walking trying to find shikamaru all because they were supposed to be training the new technique for the exams he was going to use. He was too busy drinking with his old teammates instead.
Shikaku continued walking around the training field that he knew Asuma would train his son. Only a few moments more he stumbled across his lazy son. Shikamaru and Satomi cuddled together on the grass "Hmm." Shikaku scratched his chin hair. "Shikamaru." Shikaku voice startled Satomi. Having woken suddenly Satomi blinked her eyes several times. Seeing that she was still cuddling against him. She blushed deeply and tried to move away but Shikamaru's hold was strong around her waist. "Ahh. Nara-Sama….I'm sorry...um" Satomi was at a loss for words as her face was still deep red. Shikaku clapped a bit laughing at loud. "Umm." Satomi tired again to break free from Shikamaru's hold but he only tightened his grip. Shikaku was still amazed with laughter.
"How annoying." Shikamaru muttered into Satomi's neck his lips and breath brushing against her skin.
"Ahh, Shikamaru Nara-San.." Satomi gasped as goosebumps went up her spine. Her face going another shade of red.
Shikaku smirked watching his son making the moves on the girl he was holding. Shikamaru groaned. "Just Shikamaru." he muttered his lips brushing against her neck once again. "Ok Shikamaru time to come home. You as well Satomi you need to head home we will walk you." Shikaku spoke louder this time in a somewhat serious tone.
Shikamaru was awake the moment his father had arrived but being so close to the blue haired girl was nice. He usually hated being to hot but she wasn't make him to warm. The smell of cherry blossom was in her hair and it was nice he could have his nose by her hair because it felt safe and smelt amazing. He knew he should have been home hours ago but Satomi was just to cute if he dare say laying next to cuddled into his side. He admired her features again. Her flowy blue hair like the night sky after a calm rain. Her red eyes always seemed to pierce the soul, so unique. He simply loved, yes loved the way Satomi brightened up his presence.
Shikamaru then smirked thinking of Neji. Neji doesn't even realize that Shikamaru will be in his way. Hearing his father cleared his throat. Shikamaru groaned then reluctantly took his arms away from Satomi's waist. Yawing he stood up with a bright red faced Satomi. "let me help you up." Shikamaru said lending out his hand to Satomi the two eyes meet and Shikamaru actually smiled.
"Ok kids time to head home." Shikaku said with a smirk.
Satomi kept looking at the ground as she was walking beside the two Nara's. She felt highly embarrassed from everything that had happened between her and Shikamaru. She was 11 and a half and felt things for him she had never felt. And she was doing things with a boy she shouldn't but when it came to Shikamaru her body couldn't control herself. It was like no matter what he did they were like a magnet for each other.
"I heard your mother is away on a mission with some of the Jonin. " Shikaku said trying to make small talk.
"Oh yes, she will be back in three days i believe, usually I stay home and Sasuke or Shino keep an eye on me or I stay with Hinata." Satomi said blushing hoping no one would get the wrong idea.
"I see you have some bodyguards." Shikaku said with a lazy laugh. While Shikamaru just rolled his eyes."oh no Nara-san they are just my really good friends, they like to make sure im ok when i'm alone." Satomi said with her face turning red.
The Nara's had made their way to the small apartment building. Neji was waiting on the stairs. Satomi noticed and she began to turn into a mess. Her blood ran cold and she didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea of her friends.
Shikaku noticed Satomi's demeanor and decided to walk her way to the door. "Son why don't you make sure your home, tomorrow we will invite Satomi over for dinner.." Shikaku said loud enough for Neji to hear make the young hyuga tense.
"Whatever you say old man." Shikamaru put his hands in his pockets and winked at Satomi. "Later beautiful." he said with a yawn and walked off. Shikaku smirked and Neji was furious. How could Satomi just stand there and just take all that nonsense. Neji was obvious this means war between him and Shikamaru and was going to make sure that he was going to win this war.
The following day laying in her bed Satomi blushed. "Today is dinner at the Nara Household." Satomi couldn't even think about it without blushing. Today Satomi decided to buy some things for herself with hard earned money. Since she had the day off Satomi decided to wear a beautiful kimono with the starry night sky being depicted on the beautiful fabric. Her blue hair she pulled up into a braided bun leaving several strands to fall in front of her red eyes.
Walking out her house Satomi jumped back startled seeing that Neji was again there. Sighing softly she smiled at Neji. "Neji-san!" Satomi greeted him. "Satomi, let me accompany you today." Neji said not giving her an opportunity to deny. Not that she had the strength or courage to do. "ok " she agreed as she closed the house up behind her.
The day seemed to drag along for Satomi as she enjoyed the stores and shops looking at clothes and trinkets. Each and every time she grabbed something to buy Neji would take it and buy it for her himself. In the shadows Shikamaru watched his target Neji buy items for Satomi using the shadows nearby they flew across the ground grabbing Neji holding him still. Satomi not noticing continued on with her day. 'SHIT! THAT NARA!' Neji cursed as he realized he was caught. Sasuke and Shino watched from the rooftops as Shikamaru used his shadows to capture Neji.
"It looks like the boys are getting more intense." Sasuke said with a smirk.
Shikamaru grunted only able to hold Neji in one spot for so long. Quickly he threw a stun tag on Neji as he dropped his shadows. Neji hit with the stun tag stood in his spot as Shikamaru walked out from the shadows smirking. Holding his hand up he waved before he followed Satomi. Shikamaru noticed her coming out of a clothing store and "accidentally" bumped into her.
"Oh sorry, Oh Satomi." Shikamaru exclaimed. "I didn't see you there!" he said Satomi blushed "Oh it's ok" "Oh great. where you busy?" Shikamaru questioned as he folded his arms behind head.
"Well Neji was with me but, I'm just shopping." at this moment Satomi's stomach began to growl. "Um I'm sorry, it appears I forgotten to eat." Satomi said giggle softly her face red in embarrassment.
"Great! So am I, how about we grab some ramen." Shikamaru said as he grabbed her hand pulling her to walk with him to the ramen stand. The two teens ordered their food. Chicken and beef ramen they were going to share. Satomi began to eat her food eagerly quickly enjoying it. From the corner of Shikamaru's eye he noticed a glinting. Noting the directory Shikamaru smirked eating his noodles. Seemingly out of nowhere three ninja stars were thrown at Shikamaru leaned back yawning. During this Shikamaru opened his eyes and glared in Neji's direction from where he hid. 'oh shit he really is a genius' neji thought to himself trying not to be seen by Satomi
Shino and Sasuke sat on the roof watching. "Did you see that!" Shikamaru realized Neji was there even before the ninja stars were thrown." Shino noted pushing up his sunglasses. "This is getting good. And that stupid girl doesn't even realize this is happening around her." Sasuke said with a scoff as he smirked. "Look Shino." Sasuke pointed out Shikamaru who had chopsticks in between his fingers. To anybody else it looked like Shikamaru was about to eat his food but he discreetly threw them with ninja strength and speed to fly and hit Neji in his pressure points once again stunning them. Neji was once again forced to watch and not do anything.
"Hahaha oh man!" sasuke laughed. He couldn't believe this. "Sasuke i think you need reign this back inside you." Shino commented as he watched Sasuke who seemed to be having too much fun. He really laughed but seeing two dumb boys fighting over his friend was hilarious. She was so dense and had no clue what was going on. It was entertaining just as long as they kept their hands to themselves.
Shikamaru asked for new chopsticks, throwing a smirk a Neji. "Satomi," he casually said her name. Turning Satomi looked at Shikamaru. "Yes?" She asked a little confused. "You have something on your face, let me help you with that." Shikamaru said as he moved closer. On the corner of her lips Satomi had some broth from the ramen on her cheek. Shikamaru glanced over to Neji smirking as he lightly licked his tongue against her cheek. Satomi jolted out of instinct not knowing what really had happened. Blushing deeply Satomi managed to get a squeak out and quickly said thank you as she touched her cheek. "Thank you." she said as a whisper. Sasuke was ready to pounce on the Nara until Shino tackled him on the floor cursing. Satomi looked to the noise she just went back to her meal. "Calm down, if we do anything we will mortify her." Shino said letting go of the Uchiha.
Neji was furious seeing the horror show of Shikamaru "cleaning" his girl. He couldn't handle losing. He had to make sure he would end up with Satomi in the end. For him this was no longer a game. It was definitely a war and a war he would easily win. He would claim Satomi as his and he would make sure she would be his wife a hyuga. He would make Shikamaru suffer.
"Um...Shikamaru Nara-San..can..um.. I think I'm gonna go." Satomi became a mess she couldn't eat after what had happened. Her feelings were getting the best of her. Every time they were together, touch or even look at each other, it was like time stopped or fate was pushing them together but it was something way beyond that. She just didn't know it yet. "What i mean is I must get ready for your dinner." Satomi knew she was already ready but she needed to get some fresh air go for a walk to breath. She needed to compose herself. Shikamaru smirked at how flustered and shy she had become. Dare he say she looked so cute. He never thought of girls cute. He always thought they were just here on this planet to nag at you like his mother.
"Whatever you say gorgeous." Shikamaru yawned out.
Satomi then blushed more as she bowed and shyly smiled at shikamaru. Satomi then dashed out from the ramen stand and ran towards the forest to calm her nerves. Satomi then noticed a cat like creature that appeared to be a lynx laying on the forest floor wounded badly. It was taking it very last breath. Satomi heart began to break when she went closer to the creature. Satomi knelt down and began to cry trying to comfort the animal so it wouldn't die alone. She put her hands on the animal. Soon enough green energy was coming from her fingers turning black the longer she touched the lynx. It was flowing into the lynx. A few moments passed and the dying creature shot up staring at her. Whatever she had done had brought this cat back to life and it was very thankful. Rubbing its face against her legs letting her know it was beyond grateful. The lynx soon dashed into the woods as Satomi rose to make her way back to find Shikamaru. She bumped into a tall figure.
"My apologies sir." satomi bowed.
"No my apologies Kumo-Sama.
"Hyuga Hiashi sama." Satomi's eyes went wide hoping he had not see what she had done. Neji was standing right next to him. Satomi blushed softly as she stood in front of both Hiashi and Neji.
"kumo -San, Hinata was just telling me she wanted you over for dinner tonight and that you haven't been over for tea, she really misses her friend." Hiashi said smiling.
"Uh well i'm sorry Hyuga -sama, nara-Sama had already invited me over for dinner. He had spoken to mother before she went on her trip well mission. Satomi said adding a subtle lie in the comment. She never lied but she wasn't ready to go back to the Hyuga compound yet.
"Very well, tomorrow night then." Hiashi said as he continued on his way not giving Satomi any opportunity to speak up. Satomi watched as Neji followed behind hiashi her mouth open in a bit of a shock. Shaking her head she continued on her way home to get ready for dinner at the Nara household.
