POV: TorRed Eyes

It's been another 2 months since we took down the drug facility and some things have happened. First and foremost the drug was still going around. We have been doing our best to destroy it but it just keeps circulating. It's been a bit of a problem lately, especially since the cooks were able to put it into an inhaler contraption. It made our job of getting rid of it a lot harder but the silver lining was that it was rare and expensive. Made it easy to track.

Whenever it surfaces we destroy as much of it as we can and usually end up killing the cooks and dealers. We've been so proficient at it that the ones that still sell it hide in any place they can. Nyreen's had her work cut out for her because of how good they've gotten at hiding but they are never able to hide from her for forever. Eventually she's able to track them all down and when she does she tells me. Then either I go or Samuel or Ilok go to eliminate them.

That being said Kelli, Ilok and Samuel have been my go to's whenever I need something done and I'm not available. They've gotten so good at it that some of the mercenary companies are calling us the Reaver squad. A bit contrived in my opinion but I wasn't about to stop them from calling us that. Fear is a good catalyst for getting enemies to screw up.

We haven't just been hiding down drug dealers though. We've been expanding but we've been smart about it. Slow and steady as we take out other merc companies and gangs to increase our sphere of influence on Omega. We mostly left the regular merc companies and gangs alone though. As long as they weren't dealing in slavery or openly going against us we left them alone.

There were some problems with drugs in the area of course but we were doing only what we could there. We weren't going to eliminate the drug trade but as long as they weren't selling to kids or using it to manipulate our people we left them alone. Especially if it was soft drugs, anything like crack or meth and their equivalents were violently expunged from our area. People got the message very quick not to fuck with us there.

One gang tried to and they were good at it honestly. Went around where we weren't looking, sold it to the homeless and got them addicted to it. Once they got the homeless addicted they used them to push more drugs and into our territory. As soon as they did that one of Nyreen's homeless informants went to her. We brutally took them out of our territory and reduced the gang to nothing. We left no one alive to either run or join us.

That ordeal actually jump started our next little endeavor. The homeless who got addicted needed recuperating from the drug so we built a rehab facility. Helped get the drugs out of their system and deal with their addiction. They could stay on to help others with addiction too if they wanted and were given a salary. Though, to me the most surprising thing about that was who was the head of it. Mordin Solus.

Mordin found us when we were in the process of building the facility and asked what it was for. The people working on it sent him to Garrus and myself, Nyreen was out at the time, and when he found out about what it was he offered to help. Garrus was skeptical at first but I said Yes so he went with me. Mordin now runs the place along with our medical clinic only a couple hundred feet from the facility.

That was three weeks ago now that he joined us and he's been one hell of a boon for us. With his expertise and the addition of his medical facility people have been flocking to our area. We now controlled six full floors of Omega and the mercenaries were noticing. They were joining us as fast as they could though they all went through a rather invasive background check by Nyreen before they joined us. Not only that but they went through a test to see if they were good enough.

Kelli was usually the one who headed that test and not many got her seal of satisfaction and left angry. Still, enough did and we were now a 200 strong mercenary company headed with three divisions. Security, the ones that would stay on the floors we controlled and protect what was ours; Garrus was in charge of them. Then there was, what Omega dubbed them as, the Hitters. That was my group and we were the ones that went out and hit people and facilities that were fucking around a bit too much for us to be happy about it. Finally it was Nyreen and her information network people. They were very good at their jobs and every time I got near one my paranoia went haywire.

We were steadily becoming a big player in Omega. Hell, we had a gang openly approach us last week once we were pushing in their territory. They cut a deal with us and were allowed to stay where they were and do what they were doing as long as they gave us a cut. That being said they also fell under our rules. No kids and leave the down on their luck alone. They were following those rules religiously.

As for anything else I still went on jobs but spent most of my time giving jobs to those underneath me to do. Kelli was still my number two and Ilok and Samuel were still my best operators but I now had a ranking system for my group. We only had 50 of us and everyone was divided into tiers. I'm Tier 1, Kelli was Tier two and Samuel and Ilok were Tier 3. So on and so forth all the way down to Tier 15. That was how it worked and so far it has been working well and went how you might guess. The higher the tier the lower rank you were and you LISTENED to anyone with a lower tier.

I still kept up with Tali and we had moved it to weekly calls to the other. That was how I found out that she was going to be going on missions with the marines. A part of me was concerned but a greater part knew that she would be just fine. It always fun to talk to her especially when we talked tech, to see her get so excited brought me happiness. Though once she caught sight of the girl she fell in love with her. Talked to her all the time and she now joined me on the video calls with Tali.

Now, the little girl I had pseudo adopted was still staying with me and she was such a cute little thing. She still hadn't given herself a name yet but I'm guessing it'll be any day now. That being said I have taken the opportunity given to me and copied Kratos but instead of 'boy' I said 'girl' in as much the same voice as I possibly could. It was silently extremely gratifying every time I did it.

Speaking of the girl she was deviously smart. I tended to lock up my gear in a footlocker with the exception of my pistol, mattock and helmet but one night when I came back from a meeting with Garrus and Nyreen I found her field stripping my sniper rifle, wrongly field stripping it I might add, next to the open footlocker. It's lock, a rather expensive one, broken. Not hacked, broken. I would later find out that she overloaded the lock by attaching the building's power to it through the jumper cables I kept around for violent attitude adjustments.

When I walked in on her doing this she tried to play it off like she hadn't done it and wasn't currently field stripping my Sniper. I chastised her for doing that and spanked her for breaking my lock. However, once both of those ended I dried her tears from the spanking and made her dinner. The next morning I woke her up early and showed her how to properly field strip the sniper and take care of it.

That happened a month ago and I've been steadily teaching her things. From knife motions to shooting and each and every one she took to like fish to water. She was an absolute natural in every respective area. I would've been concerned if I wasn't so proud of her. I actually took her shooting the other day with Kelli, Nyreen and Garrus. Kelli swooned over her and Garrus gave the girl tips on shooting with the Sniper. Again, she was a natural here at shooting.

Still, I made sure that she wasn't completely reliant on me. I dropped her off at the orphanage every couple days so that she could play with kids her own age. She even had a couple friends now and they came over to the apartment. It was so cute and gave me the opportunity to hang around with the kids. Some called me Uncle Wynne and you best believe it felt amazing every time they called me that.

As for the final thing that happened these past two months we officially had Krogan in our ranks. A group of eight, all under me, joined us literally two days after word got around that we had rescued a pair of Krogan kids. Pledged themselves to us without a second thought. It didn't come without it's hiccups though.

I had to headbut their 'leader' into submission in the second week. Without my helmet it wouldn't have gone as smoothly and I definitely left with a concussion. However, after that they respected me and listened to my orders. They weren't infiltrators or subtle, I used them for extermination missions mostly. All things considered, they were coming around nicely but I only saw one of them as a possible leader in the future and it happened to be the one I headbutted. Vrul Suyas, big bastard and smarter than everyone gives him credit for.

That was about it for the last two months. We were expanding and had control over six whole floors. I officially was the one in charge of missions. Mordin joined us and people were flocking to our controlled areas. And finally I found out that the girl I saved from slavery is a natural born operator. All in all, a good two months which leads me to now.

At the moment I was at Kelli's apartment with Samuel and Patus Barion, a former Sergeant Blackwatch Operator. OTH* discharged for raiding a Batarian vessel and killing all the Batarians on board against his Captain's orders. The Batarians were able to get a message back to the Hegemony before he finished them off and freed the slaves. They threw a huge hissy fit and demanded he be sent to him. The Turians just OTH'd him instead. So naturally, he fit right in with us. He was also currently dating Kelli.

"So Boss. What you got for us?" Kelli asked as she took a sip from her beer. We were all drinking together and I had my makeup on. Garrus was still the only one here who knew my real face.

"Regular four man op. Got a slaver skirting around our edges lately and Nyreen was able to get one of her agents on the inside. Guy apparently wants to go in and hit some of our people. We'll be hitting him first."

"When?" Samuel asked with his usual dry tone.

"Tomorrow night. This is the debrief," they all sat up a little straighter at that preparing to listen to me. "Their compound is two floors above us and pretty well defended. Sentry turrets and an active minefield on the outside. They always have a sniper up top as well and anywhere between 15 to 25 guys on the inside. Only five of them have shields however."

"I'm assuming Nyreen's inside man will take down the turrets?" Patus asked.

"Bingo. Plus the energy to the place, once it goes down we go in. Go to Kyle tomorrow before we leave, he'll have night vision gear for you. Here is the layout of the place too," activating my omni-tool I sent them the drawn schematics. Kyle was a human engineer who had joined us about three months ago and had quickly become our quartermaster.

"It's only one floor with a basement. We'll go in the main entrance and clear the floor room by room before we go to the basement and finish them off. Somewhere along the way we'll run into Nyreen's agent. The challenge is Child and the response is Mother. There won't be any slaves on site so you won't have to worry about that."

"Extermination or no?" Kelli asked.

"No. If they surrender zip tie them, the soldiers on site are hired mercs and not with the slaver personally," they all nodded their at that. "Any other questions?"

"Do they have any biotics?" Samuel asked.

"Three according to our inside man. Anything else?" They shook their heads no. "Okay, well I'm going to head back to my place."

"Gonna check on the girl?" Kelli asked as she finished the rest of her beer.

"Yeah, she went to the orphanage today and played with the other kids. I'm curious how it went."

"Aww. So cute!" she squealed and before anything else could happen I left her apartment.

Making my way back to my apartment was a quick affair. Kelli's apartment was pretty close to mine, the only building between ours was Mordin's medical center. Walking past the facility I decided to jump in and see if anything was going on.

Walking into the facility there were several people lying on some cots. All of whom I recognized as my men and one's that had been injured recently. Most looked to be making good recoveries and would be able to fight again soon. The ones who didn't would be fine eventually but needed more time.

Past that area was where the sick people were and most here were a bit worse for wear for whatever disease they had. They were all walled off from each other to stop them from infecting others just in case. There were several doctors running around checking on patients and all of them gave me a wide berth.

At the end of that hall was a singular door. Opening the door Mordin's eyes immediately snapped to me as his hand went to his side where he kept his gun. Once he recognized it was me he relaxed and I saw that on his desk were some patient forms and what looked like a request for medical supplies.

"Ah, Torch. Planned on going to Garrus with request. Can you take it?" he said with his patented fast paced talking as he grabbed the request and handed it to me.

"Of course Doc. Everything going well?"

"Patients steady but need more supplies for proper treatment to continue."

"We'll get it done."

"Hmm, haven't failed yet. Question, seen how your arm reacts to Biotics, unique. Would like to study."

"We're going after a slaver tomorrow night if you want to join."

"Yes. Would like to get out regardless," as soon as the words were out of his mouth I sent him the schematics for the building and gave him the same brief I just gave my squad.

"You got any questions Doc?"

"No. Will ask if some come but none now," he might not have but I still did for him.

"You said you saw videos of my arm reacting with biotics. Any ideas?"

"Hmm. No, not enough evidence for conclusive theory."

"Best hypothesis then?"

"Assume arm is made out of Eezo laced metal?" I gave him a nod and he hummed for a moment before continuing. "Eezo in arm reacts to biotics of others. Gives temporary boost of speed and power after contact. Seen in videos. If still with STG would want to capture for further study."

"You think they know about me?"

"No. Evidence only seen in videos from men. No STG in group."

"And if they find out about me?" he gave me a long hard look before answering the question.

"Prepare to fight."

"Fantastic. Alright, see you tomorrow night."

He didn't reply as I left. As I made my way to my apartment I sent a quick message to Kelli, Samuel and Patus telling them Mordin would be joining us tomorrow. None responded but I know that they got the message and wouldn't voice any objections. Mordin was a capable fighter, and they all knew that he was former STG.

I wanted to go to my apartment but with the request from Mordin I went over to Garrus and Nyreen's apartment. Yeah, they had moved in together about two weeks ago. Still don't know how I feel about it but they seem to make each other happy and it doesn't affect our jobs. As long as it stays that way they won't get any pushback from me.

That being said as I reached the apartment and went inside Garrus was just activating his omni-tool and Nyreen held a file in her hands. Both were at the door and looked about ready to leave. We stared at each other for a moment before I handed the request from Mordin to Garrus.

"Thanks. We were just about to call you though."

"What's up?" Nyreen answered by handing me the file. Opening the file I let out a long sigh. Vrul had apparently been seen buying some of the inhalers that the drug came in.

"He's under you," Garrus stated. "What do you want to do?" I thought about it for a minute before responding.

"Call him to the meeting room," I said sighing. "I'll contact Kelli, she should know about this too. As for what will happen to him I want to see what he'll do."

So we left their apartment and I called Kelli to meet at the meeting room. Garrus called Vrul and we all made our way to the meeting room. Kelli showed up only a couple minutes after we did. As for Vrul he took almost 20 minutes after we got there to arrive. However, when he did arrive he was carrying a bag and set it down in front of us before opening it.

It held about 30 or so inhalers, I couldn't get an accurate count but it looked to be around that number. All of us stared at each other silently before I reached out and grabbed the bag. Looking over the inhalers they were indeed the ones the drug was put into. Setting the bag back down to where it had been I stared impassively through my mask at Vrul.

"I'd like to explain sir," he started standing in a ramrod straight posture.

"Go ahead."

"All these are one-hits, one use only. I wanted them in order to give to the other Krogan in case we came into a situation where they were needed. I've heard about the effects the drug has on us and believed it would be good to have just in case," I applauded his thought process there. Not only that but he didn't bullshit us and try to deny it. He came to us with the evidence even when he wasn't told about why he wasn't being called in.

I silently contemplated how to proceed before talking.

"Show us they are truly one hitters," he silently grabbed one before pointing it upwards and hitting the top of it. It expelled a puff of smoke and once the smoke had disappeared he hit it again. Nothing came out of it, they were indeed one hitters. I stood up and paced forward until I was standing in front of him.

"Vrul… Consider yourself promoted. You are now in charge of the Krogan we have."

"Thank you sir," he went to grab the bag but I grabbed it before he could.

"However, I will be taking five. The rest you may distribute to the rest of your brothers under the condition that they are used only ever in extreme emergencies. I recognize the effect and importance of emergency stims, the Battle of the Citadel was where I used three alone. Though, if you are ever seen selling these to anyone else you will not see me coming. Do I make myself understood?"

"Yes sir," he gave a salute.

"Good. From now on too if you plan on getting more you go through either myself, Kelli, Garrus or Nyreen. No exceptions."

"Yes sir!"

"Good, now go," I handed him the bag after I grabbed the five I spoke of. Once the bag was in his hands he damn near sprinted out of the room.

Silently I tossed one to Kelli, Garrus and Nyreen. I kept two for myself.

"You trust him?" Nyreen asked in a flat voice.

"Not terribly so but he took initiative. Not only that but he brought the evidence to us and didn't try to run. Plus he explained it well. If anything, the promotion is deserved."

"I agree," Garrus and Kelli said simultaneously.

"Good. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going back to my apartment."

Getting to my apartment the girl was in the living room with a blindfold over her eyes as she field stripped the sniper, first time with a blindfold to my knowledge. Leaving her to it I went to the kitchen and got myself some water before sitting on the couch behind her. Once she finished putting the sniper back together after stripping it she took the blindfold off and turned around to me.

"Hey dad," yeah, I'm not gonna lie. That felt nice to hear.

"Hello girl. You did well for your first time with the blindfold."

"I'm slow."

"Maybe. You'll improve though, I know you will," she gave me a bright smile at that before jumping onto me hugging my chest. I hugged her right back.

"Dad," she spoke while she snuggled herself into my chest. "What are these?" she reached into her pocket and pulled out my mag of the unique bullets Volio had gotten me.

"They are very special bullets my mentor got me," I reached out with my augmetic arm silently demanding she give them over.

She handed them over and when they hit my augmetic hand it was the first time they had ever done so. With the bullets and mag in that hand my whole arm started to humm. Not only that but as they sat in my hand biotic sparks began to fly all around my hand. Setting the mag down I left it for another time.

The next night Kelli, Samuel, Mordin, Patus and myself were waiting about half a mile from the Slaver facility on the top of a small building. Samuel was lying prone on the ground with his sniper at the ready as he looked through the scope at the lone sniper on top of the Slavers building. As soon as he took the shot we would go in.

Everyone was geared up and had checked their gear before we made our way here. Which gave me a bit of a surprise with their night vision gear. Instead of the glassic green or new blue the gear emitted a soft red glow. Making it look like they all had red eyes when they were activated.

The lights on the building then went out along with the turrets powering down. Then there was the click of a trigger and Samuel's sniper barked out a shot. The opposing sniper dropped on top of the building and I gave everyone the nod. We sprinted to the building and avoided the minefield before we set up at the front door.

Tapping my head with an open palm Patus got out his crowbar and as slowly and quietly as he could pried to the door open. He did a good job keeping it quiet and as soon as the doors were open I went in with the others right behind me.

Taking a step inside I hit my pulse and saw that there were about 12 signatures on this floor with eight more below us. Six of the twelve were in the room right only a couple feet from the entrance. Going to the room I noticed it didn't have a door and I quietly called it through the comms.

Stacking up on the one side of the door I waited until I got a tap on the shoulder. As soon as I did I moved into the room and prepared to fire only to see that all the defenders were lying on the ground face down with their hands behind their heads. We all quietly stared at that a little thrown. Dispelling our confusion we set about putting zip ties on the soldiers and none of them resisted.

Leaving them where they were we made our way to a room a little down the way where four signatures were. Again there was no door and we stacked up the same way with me in the lead. Getting the tap on the shoulder I went in with my rifle raised and was greeted with all four of the occupants opening fire.

I returned fire and dropped one with a shot to the head. Kelli, being right behind me, dropped the next one while the third threw a Warp at me. With the early warning humm of my arm I dodged to the side and ran up to her cracking the Asari across the face with my augmetic hand. Her barrier shattering at contact and she collapsed. I put a bullet through her head as the final one was dropped by Mordin.

With the four dead and the element of surprise now officially gone I hit the pulse one more time to see where everyone was. The final two on this floor were in a room by the stairs and the eight that were below us had backed up from the stairs. Leading the way to the room with two we stacked up on the outside.

Tapping my head with an open pal once Patus brought out his crowbar again and went to the door. Wrenching the door open hard and fast we went to go in but stopped as a voice rang out.

"Child!"

"Mother." I instantly responded. At my words two people came out of cover. One, a human, had his hands up and behind his head. Next to him was Faif T'zere, an Asari maiden, and she was one of Nyreen's. She was a good woman, if a bit impulsive.

"Who's he Faif?" I asked as I gave the signal to Samuel. He went forward and put the zip ties on the human.

"His name's Ryan and he made me before deciding to help," I noted the sly smile she had along with the somewhat embarrassed look on the man. Score one for sex appeal I guess.

"Take him to the front room. The rest of his buddies that are alive are there. Watch over them and stay there. We'll finish this up."

She gave me a nod before grabbing the zip ties on Ryan and escorting him out of the room. Shaking my head I gave a quick hand motion and we went on our way to the stairs. Stopping just before the turn I hit the pulse again and got a rough estimate of where the remaining eight were.

Grabbing a grenade off my bandolier I turned the corner and threw a grenade at where two of the soldiers were. I got back into cover before anything could happen and there was a flash on the wall as the grenade went off followed by screams of pain. Rushing around the corner I fired off my Mattock as fast as I could.

The rest of the group came right behind me and I spotted a human glowing blue. Sprinting at the soldier I dived at him tackling him to the ground. I grabbed his face with my augmetic hand, his barrier beginning to dim. Lifting his head up off the ground I slammed it into the ground shattering his barrier and cracking his skull wide open.

As I did that my shields got pinged by a couple shots before they stopped shooting at me as the rest arrived. The small area was a cacophony of gun fire and I got behind cover. Peeking my head out of the corner I saw one of the soldiers get hit with a couple shots, his shields flashing, before going back into cover.

Activating my omni-tool I fired an Overload at the soldier. It connected and shredded his shields and before he could react I put a bullet through his skull. Peeking back around the corner I saw a Batarian hefting a rocket launcher. Immediately sending a Sabotage at him it hit the launcher and when he popped out of cover and clicked the trigger nothing happened.

Everyone saw him standing there in the open like an idiot as pranic crossed his eyes before everyone unloaded on him disregarding their previous targets. He went down almost instantly. After he went down it really was just a mop up procedure for the rest. They went down quickly, including the head Slaver that we had been after.

When it was all said and done we set the basement on fire and left. Picking up our captives on the way out and waiting outside while Samuel headed back to the air car we had parked where he had taken his shot.

We piled our captives inside before heading off. Getting back to our base Kelli took care of the prisoners and I walked up to Mordin who was playing on his omni-tool.

"Enjoy yourself Doc?"

"Yes. Enjoy field work, even if can be… messy."

"Fair… Your hypothesis gain any traction?"

"Yes. Not there though, more data needed. Yes, more data."

POV: Aria T'loak

Omega was a masterpiece of Freedom. Far away from the corruption of the Citadel and their retarted Council. Far away from the idiocy of politics. A safe haven for all the those that want to leave and make themselves anew. From the broken to the desperate, Omega was the place to create a new path for yourself. And it was all because of me.

Patriarch had turned this place into a fortress for Pirates and the like. I had taken it from him and turned it into a Kingdom. My kingdom for I was THE QUEEN and the one rule of Omega was: don't fuck with the Queen.

Those that forgot the one rule either ended up dead on the floor of Omega or like the current one. A piece of Turian filth who thought that skimming off the top from my shipments was a good idea. Not only had he been skimming off the top but he had also taken some of the product and was selling it on his own for his own profit.

He was currently on the ground in front of pleading for his pathetic life but I didn't give two shits. I had heard all this before and I made it a priority to know those under me. I just looked to Senk, my Batarian helper, and gave him a nod. He took out his pistol with no hesitation and blew a hole in the Turians head. When the Turian dropped dead onto the ground he picked him up and took off with the body to dispose of it.

With that out of the way I got to think on what the actual problem was around here now. Garrus Vakarian and his group have been fucking everything up. The balance that I had meticulously crafted over the years was now in disarray because of those idiots. The people were getting smart and some were even willingly pushing back against me and mine.

That shit would've never happened before but because of them it was happening now. I didn't need the people to be brave or safe. I needed them to be alone and fearful. If they weren't then nothing would work anymore. Not to mention that the Mercenary idiots were getting their panties in a bunch.

I personally blamed Torchbearer for that. He made it a point to hit them when he could with his personal squad, The Reavers as some idiot from the Blood Pack named them. The mercenaries were the most pissed about the lost product recently. All the slaves that they were losing from either escapes or rescues was getting impressive in all honesty.

That usually wasn't my problem but now the Mercs were pushing against each other for more space and product, it either being drugs or people. It shouldn't be a problem because they always did this shit but now they were pushing hard. It wasn't hard to see the writing on the wall that a turf war was in the near future if things progressed the way that they were.

That was something that directly violated my rule. A gang war would FUCK with me and I wasn't about to let that happen. Which is the reason the current commanders for the Omega branches of the Blue Suns, Eclipse and Blood Pack mercenaries were now standing in front of me.

Jaroth, a slimy Salarian who's been selling tainted Eezo across Omega. His shipments have been directly targeted by the Hitters and he was practically hemorrhaging money at the moment. Tarak, A Batarian with a good head for strategy and the least affected of the three but his people have been getting slaughtered on their jobs. I'll say what I want about Garrus and his people but The Hitters were very good at their job.

Finally there was Garm, a big Krogan bastard who was also a Biotic. He's been hit the hardest out of the three. His drugs being destroyed, his dealers ending up dead at every turn. His slaves either escapping or being rescued in mass recently. It's gotten so bad for him that he's had four Krogan and three Vorch try to eliminate him to lead the Blood Pack themselves in the last two weeks alone. He killed them all but it was safe to say that he had the most reason to be here.

"What do you want Aria?" Garm stated arrogantly as he stood in front of the other two. At least he had balls.

Not answering his question I stared him down. My biotics dancing around my eyes and body as they stood there in silence. The tension in the air was thick but it wasn't with me, it was with them. This was my kingdom and they knew it; I'm the Queen. I talk you listen. When he backed down and looked away, only then did I decide to address them.

"You've all had some problems recently," Garm opened his mouth to speak again but another scathing look had him shut his mouth. "I know this and I also know that if it continues you three will enter a turf war. So instead I present you with some good news. Garrus Vakarian and his people are now in open season. Do what you will."

They all smiled cruelly at the words, especially Garm. However, I dismissed them before they could voice anything. I didn't need to hear whatever they had to say. Either way, the problem that was beginning to brew would be dealt with when they killed Garrus and his idiots.

As they walked away I saw the malicious glint in Garm's eyes again. When I saw that, for the first time in several hundred years, the voice of doubt entered my mind. Something I hadn't heard since I was in the process of taking Omega from Patriarch. All it was saying was that maybe, just maybe I had just committed the worst mistake of my tenure as Queen.

POV: Miranda Lawson

Over the last few months I have been sending people onto Omega to gather data on Wynne. They always embedded themselves into a local gang, slaver, dealer or mercenary company to get the job done. All had been biotics and were given armor with custom wiring built by myself to gather data on him.

The Illusive man had forbade me from going after the man after he had rejected our offer but I wasn't doing it in an official capacity for Cerberus. It was a side project that had been born after Sing and his squad had been killed. The data they had gotten before expiring was curious and I had to explore it. Besides, it didn't affect the progress of the Lazarus Project so it didn't matter too much.

Either way, after months of data gathering from the agents who had encountered Wynne, and subsequently died, there was finally enough data to find out exactly what his arm did. The data was currently compiling and running internal simulations to get an exact idea of what was going on. As I looked at the screen my mind began to wonder.

My thoughts drifted to Ori. I had kept a close eye on her ever since I had given her to the family. She was doing well in her schooling and excelling in all areas. Just as I did and just as our 'father' would've wanted her too. Thinking of my father I was filled with rage at the man who dared to call himself our father.

He was an egotistical piece of human garbage and when the time finally came I would punch his ticket to the afterlife. My father will die by my hand and no one else's, plain and simple. Still, he had given me my sister and that was his only true contribution to my life. Everything else was just for his own pathetic legacy.

PING

Guess the program had finished its job. Getting up from my desk as I was going over a few calculations for the Lazarus Project I made my way to the terminal. I stopped a few feet form the terminal reading what was on the screen in shock. After a few moments I let out a laugh.

"Guess my program is off. Time to fix that," I spoke to myself and went to the terminal.

Going through the program the more and more I went through the coding the more and more fear creeped into me. Pushing that out of the way I restarted the program and went back to work on the Lazarus calculation. I didn't get anywhere with the calculations.

The image of what was on the terminal stayed in my mind. After a few minutes of going through the calculations I turned off my omni-tool and began to pace in front of the terminal as the program did it's work. I paced back and forth in front of the terminal for almost a half an hour before it finished again. With the same result.

Immediately restarting the program it went through the whole process again. Only for when it ended to have the same result as the two times before. Again I restarted the program and again it gave me the same result. I did this six more times, the program having run a total of 10 times, and every time it gave the same result.

Shakily reaching out my hand I turned off the terminal and leaned over against the desk. My arms and body shaking. Processing everything the results of the program had just spit out and something became clear to me.

For the first time in my life I was completely and utterly terrified.
