Shoto and Mina basically ran towards the train station. The last train was soon, so they had to catch it. When they boarded the train, Shoto noticed that Mina only stared at her unopened boxes of sushi worriedly. Like she was expecting a rodent to hop out. Honestly, Shoto could relate. He looked at the half-eaten Onigiri in his hands. Yep, he could definetely relate. After about ten minutes, they arrived at Chofu. Shoto tapped his phone screen, the location was on a street. They took a bus to the written location and found danger tape with police cars all around. It was, recently after all. Shoto and Mina shoved their way into the crowd to see a pillar cracked and shattered in many places, and an outline of a man in a pretty deep crater. Shoto's already white face somehow became even whiter. And Mina's usually pink face was replaced with a dusty pale pink. A policeman noticed the two kids, "Oh! Who are you kids? What are you doing here this late at night?" Shoto took a moment to gather himself, "I'm part of the Jiro task. Do you... Know what happened here?" The policeman raised his head in realisation, "Ohh, the Jiro task I see. Apparently, a man got attacked and there was a note left behind. Man that guys is creepy." The policeman shuddered. It made sense as Jiro was pretty much killing with no resistance. He was untrackable and that was what was the most terrifying thing about him. The police cannot catch him to stop the killings. Mina looked at the scene, "How many victims?" "One. Luckily." Shoto replied without keeping his eyes off of the scene. He then turned to the officer, "May I see the note?" He turned, "Uh? Oh, sure..." He then walked towards a policeman with glasses and muttered something about "The evidence" and "The Jiro task". When he said that, the other policeman stole a glance behind the policeman, before handing him a zip-lock bag with a piece of paper in it. The policeman came back to Shoto and handed him the bag. "You can take it out, just don't damage the paper. We still need it." With that, he moved away from Mina and Shoto to get a cup of coffee. Mina looked at the note in Shoto's hands, it was written in red. Shoto looked extremely worried before he held his nose close to the paper and froze midway. Mina's face turned completely white, "What is it?" Shoto turned towards her and stared at her dead in the eyes, "Blood. It's written with blood." She inhaled sharply, "Is it..?" Shoto shrugged rather shakily, "No idea." He proceeded to read the note, trying to forget about the blood part.
"Hello, if you're reading this, that means there's a body in front of your face, isn't there? Frankly, I'd rather not hurt anybody, but I hurt myself to the very limit already. So, I need other means to keep sane anyways."
Shoto's hands shook as he slowly read the note. After he read it, he read it again and again, making sure that he didn't miss out any words. Mina's face got impossibly paler and paler as she silently read the note too. Mina tapped on Shoto's shoulder, and he jumped. He jumped. Mr I-wouldn't-start-if-Japan-got-nuked jumped. Mina twitched back a bit at his reaction but got to ask, "Shoto, w-what do we d-do?" Shoto was deep in thought, he tapped on the policeman's shoulder, "Uhm, excuse me sir, can we take a picture of this?" He shook his head, "The evidence cannot be copied. I can only show it to you." With that, he continued to chat with his friend. Shoto grabbed a piece of paper and copied down the exact words anyway. He passed the slightly crumpled paper to Mina, "Keep it." She grimaced and pursed her lips, before pocketing the paper. Shoto bowed and returned the evidence to the policeman. "Mina what day is it?" She frowned, he even forgot the day? "Sunday." Shoto bit the inside of his lip, "Take the paper to school tommorrow." Mina nodded and put a hand over her pocket to double check. Something caught Shoto's eye, a blob of white in the corner of his vision in the middle of the night. He turned and saw a man sitting crossed legged on a bench, drinking a cup of Joe. Nothing was weird about it except for the fact that he had a white Anbu mask with red and light blue highlights. There were three red droplets pointing inwards, with two red stripes on each cheek. Blue streaks resembling tears came from the corner of each eye. The man wore a neat black suit with red highlights and black gloves. "Damn. Villains make so much fuss don't they, kid?" Shoto nodded. The man sighed an got up, throwing the now empty coffee cup away, "Well, time for me to go. See ya." He walked down the street for a bit and waved at Shoto. The moonlight glinted off of the top-left hand corner of his forehead revealing a detail of the mask Shoto had not noticed. A red flame. Licking the edges of where the man's eyebrows should be. Shoto froze and blinked. The man was gone. There were no connecting streets or alleys, but one moment the man was there, the other he was not.
Eh, tbh i cannot write a lot for each 'arc' of my story. My disadvantage. I cannot write very long stuff, unless I'm particularly motivated. (;′⌒`) So, cya!
