It was a very difficult time for Ryan Bones.
His parents, Josh and Becky Bones had been murdered by Lord Voldemort in person only a couple of days ago.
That had come on the heels of Voldemort wiping out his brother Edgar and Edgar's wife and children only a week prior.
Ryan was grieving.
And worried.
Worried about his sister, Amelia, who he was sure Voldemort would target next.
The Boneses, perhaps more than any other wizarding family, had found themselves in Lord Voldemort's crossfire.
They had all been members of the Order of the Phoenix and all were publicly loyal to Dumbledore and against Voldemort.
They were also both highly skilled magically and strategically and highly influential. As such, Lord Voldemort had made it a high priority to dispose of them before they could do too much damage to his cause.
Grieving, scared, and worried, Ryan found solace in the simple things.
There was one thing in particular that always brought a smile to Ryan's face come hell or high water to his world.
That thing was flowers.
Ryan absolutely adored flowers.
He loved flowers of all kinds and colors
The natural beauty of something as pure as a flower always brought a smile to Ryan's face and some warmth to his heart even in times of grief and despair.
Flowers represented purity, nature, beauty, life, and hope.
Amidist all the loss, there was a happier event also occurring in Ryan's life. He was about a fortnight away from becoming a first-time father.
He knew the time had come to pick a name for his daughter. However, his grief over the loss of parents weighed heavily on him, disrupting his thoughts.
To try to get some peace, Ryan went into his Flower Room.
As always, looking at his flowers lifted Ryan's spirits and calmed him down at the same time.
His eyes rested upon a set of beautiful white lilies.
And he was struck by a sudden inspiration.
It was as though magic itself had lit a fire in his heart that couldn't be extinguished.
He would be naming daughter Susan. She would be called Susan Bones.
The name Susan meant lily or lily flower.
Plus, the name Susan Bones just felt right to Ryan. The glow in his heart told him so.
It was perfect.
Having always been able to find comfort in flowers in the absolute worst of times and having been struggling to name his daughter in the face of grieving his parents' deaths, Ryan had not only felt a sense of calm and uplifting by flowers, but his beautiful white lilies had given him an inspiration so sudden yet so strong that it felt like a gift from magic itself. It was as though magic was speaking to him through his inspiration and feelings.
Ryan Bones, the man who had always found solace and comfort in flowers, now had been inspired by them.
His daughter shall bear a name that means lily or lily flower after he was inspired by his white lilies. She would be known as Susan Bones.
He felt his insides burn hotter still as he looked forward to the moment when Susan Bones would come into the world.
