Six Types of Strategies

Location: PWT Lobby

Jules. The so called Eevee Master. My final opponent. I had to admit; I was shaking a bit. I still didn't know much about Sylveon beyond what Colress had told me.

"Calm down," Mr. Cheren said. "Look, it's part of the excitement. It's not everyday that someone from Unova gets to battle RibbonMcGee over there."

I was also stressing because, now that it was the finals, it was an all star show. All six of my Pokémon were to be used.

"Go get em!" Bianca said.

Location: PWT Battlefield

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's the finals of the PWT! Now, on one side, we have our very own Champion, Rosa Wright!" I walked on, shaking. "And on the other, the Eevee Master from Kal- I mean, an unspecified region, it's Jules!" Jules ran on.

"Here we are!" I said. "Show me what you got!"

"Gladly!" he said.

Rosa Vs. Jules

"Cinccino, start things off!" I shouted.

"And I choose Flareon!" Jules replied, sending out Eevee, but larger and orange in colouration.

Eevee -Fire Stone- Flareon

"Cinccino, start with Charm!" Cinccino fired hearts at Flareon, lowering its Attack stat.

"Flame Charge!" Flareon lit itself on fire and charged into Cinccino. After the hit, Flareon's Speed rose.

"Cinccino, Rock Blast!" Cinccino fired five rocks at Flareon. All of them were Super Effective hits and almost finished off Flareon at once.

"Fire Spin!" Flareon then fired swirling flames at Cinccino. When it hit, they circled round it.

"One more round of Rock Blast!" Cinccino did just that. It fired some rocks at Flareon, knocking it out.

"I'm far from finished! Go Leafeon!" Jules sent out the Grass Type Eeveelution.

There was no way for Cinccino to escape because of the Fire Spin, so I had to just go with it. "Charm again!" Cinccino used another Charm. Leafeon's Attack was lowered.

"Use Leaf Blade!" Leafeon's leaf on its front right leg started glowing, and it slashed at Cinccino. If it wasn't for the Attack lowering Cinccino would be finished.

"Tail Slap!" Cinccino rushed forward and slapped Leafeon across the face five times.

"Use Swords Dance!" Leafeon danced about, sharpening its leaves. It's Attack stat rose again.

Deciding Charm would get me nowhere, I had Cinccino use another Tail Slap. It slapped Leafeon across the face five times. "Keep it up!"

"Leaf Blade!" Leafeon sliced at Cinccino one last time, finishing it off.

"This is far from over! Arcanine, go!" Type advantage time.

"Leafeon, Aerial Ace!" Leafeon darted forwards and hit Arcanine in the head.

"Use Flare Blitz!" Arcanine set itself ablaze and charged towards Leafeon. It was a fiery finish.

"Not so fast! Go Umbreon!" Out came a black Pokémon with yellow rings all over it.

Eevee -Happiness at night- Umbreon

"Okay Arcanine, Flamethrower!" Arcanine shot fire at Umbreon, but it didn't do that much.

"Mean Look!" Umbreon stared down at Arcanine. It couldn't escape.

"Flare Blitz!" Arcanine darted forwards and crashed into Umbreon.

"Confuse Ray!" Umbreon started emitting weird wakes from its eyes. Upon impact, it confused Arcanine.

"Snap out of it!" I shouted. Usually, confusion can be cured by switching, but Mean Look prevented that. "Flare Blitz!" Arcanine hit itself.

"Use Feint Attack!" Umbeon snuck up behind Arcanine and hit it.

"Flare Blitz again!" Arcanine this time got a successful hit in. Umbreon was hit and burned! But Arcanine was feeling weaker.

"Facade!" Well, wasn't expecting that. Umbreon leapt forward and attacked Arcanine. It was down.

"It would have been down anyway," I thought. "Okay Serperior, go!" I yelled. It was partner time. "Use Coil!" Serperior coiled itself round, and its stats rose.

"Facade again!" Umbreon bolted forwards and hit Serperior for quite a bit.

"Leaf Blade!" Serperior slithered quickly to Umbreon and slashed it across the face. It was down.

"I'm running short of options, but my ambition is still there! Glaceon, go!" With him sending out an Ice Type, I had two choices. Lose the stat boost or not. I decided to…

"Dragon Tail!" I yelled. Serperior hit Glaceon with its glowing blue tail and, just like before, out came who I was waiting for. Sylveon.

"Well, you asked for it! Moonblast!" Sylveon created the moon above it and blasted some energy at Serperior. Serperior's Special Defense fell upon impact.

"Use Dragon Tail!" Serperior hit Sylveon with the move… but it did nothing! "WHAT?!" I yelled. "Does this mean that… Dragon Type moves don't work on Fairy Types?"

"Moonblast again!" Sylveon used another Moonblast. This Critical Hit knocked out Serperior.

"Take a rest," I told it. "Azumarill, go! Aqua Tail!" Azumarill hit Sylveon with its wet tail. It was a Critical Hit.

"Use Swift!" Sylveon fired starts at Azumarill. It was a direct hit.

"Use Aqua Tail again!" Azumarill hit Sylveon once more and knocked it out. "Yeah! Your magic didn't work here!"

"True, but Psychic power will!" Next was a pink Pokémon with a red orb on its head.

Espeon (エッフィ)

Its fur is so sensitive, it can feel minute shifts in the air and predict the weather… and its foes thoughts.

Eevee -Happiness in daytime- Espeon

"Come back Azumarill. I choose Flygon!" I shouted.

"Use Psychic!" Espeon blasted Flygon with Psychic energy. Well, it attempted to. It didn't work.

"Use Night Daze!" Flygon slammed its wings down and blasted dark energy at Espeon who was hit quite hard.

"Use Swift!" Espeon fired its own stars at Flygon, revealing it to be Zoroark.

"Now Night Slash!" Zoroark slashed at Espeon, knocking it out.

"Okay then. I finally choose Glaceon!" It was Jules' final Pokémon.

"Use Flamethrower!" I shouted as Zoroark blasted fire at Glaceon, doing tons of damage.

"Ice Beam!" Glaceon blasted back with a white beam that directly hit Zoroark. Thankfully, I had it covered.

"Flamethrower!" Zoroark blasted one more pillar of flames at Glaceon, finishing it off.

"Merci for the battle…"

"And with that, Rosa Wright has won the first PWT!"

I smiled. "I… can't believe it!"

A man brought on a large-gold cup. "Congratulations Rosa," he said.

"Thanks!" I said, teary eyed.

Location: Driftveil City

I sat at the dock, having a good rest. I needed it. Between the PWT, the storms and an upcoming battle with Hilbert, it felt like breathing room was prohibited. But it wasn't; I just didn't have time to do it. I just needed to sit down and watch the school of Basculin swim downstream.

"Enjoying yourself?" It was Bianca. She sat by the side.

"How's it going with Mr. Cheren?" I asked.

"It's went brilliantly! I can confirm that we are now a couple! And I couldn't have asked for a better first date! Congratulations!"

"Thanks," I said. "I've already sent it back to Aspertia City. Might head home for the day tomorrow. Soon, I will be facing Hilbert at Dragonspiral Tower."

Bianca patted me on the back. "Good luck!"

I have won! But there is a victory I really hope I get soon…
