As they got up from the table Penelope looked at Dave and said, "Where's Mudgie"?
Dave said, "he's in the backyard, don't worry he'll be in soon, he's missed you too kitten" causing Penelope to grin. Sure enough, when she got over and sat down on the couch Mudgie came running into the living room and when he saw her on the couch he bolted up beside her.
Penelope grinned and said, "Hey buddy, where have you been"?, Clooney looked up from his spot on the floor and started wagging his tail, he too joined Penelope on the couch, he had his head laying on one of her legs and Mudgie the other. Derek said, "it looks like I have been traded", Penelope said, "here I get two for the price of one" and everybody laughed, Derek said, "you know that you wouldn't trade me now would ya"? She winked at him and said, "nope, wouldn't trade you for anything handsome" and Derek winked back at her and said, "that's my girl".
The family all joined her in the living room where Hotch looked at her and said, "even though you are staying here at Dave and Frans you are still going to be given a guard, well a few as a matter of fact". Penelope said, "a few"?, Hotch said, "'we can't take any chances Garcia, we love you and only want you to be safe that's why there will be two guards outside and one inside at all times and then you will have all of us".
Clooney and Mudgie started barking and wagging their tails and Derek said, "'and don't forget her four-legged bodyguards Hotch", Hotch looked at the two dogs and said, "I'm so sorry, please forgive me" and both dogs looked at him and barked and Hotch grinned and said, "I wouldn't forget about the two of you, not in a million years" as both dogs then happy laid their heads back down on Penelope's legs and closed their eyes as she continued to rub their heads.
Fran looked at Penelope and said, "to make it easy on you honey we have fixed one of the bedrooms downstairs for you", Derek said, "I want one beside baby girl" and Fran said, "I knew that already that's why I gave you two the rooms that share a door". Penelope said, "thanks Fran, I really appreciate that, I still feel uneasy and afraid so being close to Derek and you guys is really going to help me".
Fran wrapped her arms around Penelope, hugged her gently, and said, "we all love you Penelope and we will do whatever it takes to keep you safe, happy and healthy." Penelope sighed happily as she relaxed against the couch. Derek sat down beside Clooney and Penelope and said, "Hotch arranged it so that I only had to go with the team on really bad cases" and Penelope said, "aren't they all bad cases though?" Derek said, "some are worse than others but don't worry even when I'm not here you won't be alone, we've made sure of that."
Penelope looked around the room at all of the smiling faces and once again felt safe, she knew that her family all loved her and would do anything it took to keep her safe, of that she had no doubts. The team all stayed for a while and the girls, Henry and Jack stayed with Penelope and her four-legged bodyguards while the men all stepped out into the backyard to discuss Penelope's case.
Derek was becoming more concerned with each passing day because it seemed like the rapist was adding another victim to his numbers every day, he was now up to 8 and each woman looked more and more like Garcia. Reid looked at Derek and said, "we need to tell her that he has a type and his type is her", Derek shook his head and said, "she can't handle that yet pretty boy, she's not ready."
Dave said, "she's stronger than you think son, she needs to know, just think how hurt she will be if we don't tell her", Derek said, "but" and Hotch said, "they are both right Derek, we need to tell her and the sooner the better". He sighed and said, "I guess you're right" as he stood up and started toward the door, he was going to tell her and just hope that she was strong enough to handle the news.
As they walked into the living room Penelope looked up at Derek and said, "what's wrong?" Derek said, "baby girl there is something we need to tell you" and she said, "o o okay, what do you need to tell me?" Derek sat down beside her, took her hand in his, and said, "the man that attacked you has attacked 7 other women in the past couple of weeks and they are all the same type."
Penelope said, "the same type, what type is that?" he gently squeezed her hand and said, "you baby girl, his type is you", her heart started racing and she said, "y y you mean that all 7 of the other women l l looked like m m me"? and Derek nodded his head and said, "they did sweetness, they did" and she jumped up from her seat on the couch and ran from the room
Derek stood still for a few seconds and then took off running after her, he caught up to her as she made it to her room, she sat down on the side of the bed and said, "why is this happening to me Derek, why do the others look like me"?, Derek sat down beside her and said, "baby there is something else that I need to tell you."
She looked up at him and said, "o o okay" as she looked up at him waiting to see what else he had to say, he blew out a deep breath, looked at her, and said, "it's what he said to the other women sweetness". She said, "what he said, what did he say?" Derek said, "all of the victims said that he told them that they were good but not as good as you were in bed
Penelope looked at him as tears streamed down her face, she then buried her head in his chest and kept screaming over and over, "no, no, no" as Derek held her tight and let her know that she was safe and that he would always be with her. As he sat there holding her he knew that he would do whatever it took to find and bring down the sick bastard that was terrorizing his baby girl and the sooner the better.
