A/N: Hello. The second part of this chapter took some tweaking. I know that Kohaku was seemingly somewhat vague and it was odd that he hadn't told anyone about what had occurred.

It was a lot harder to translate my thought process on it then I thought it would be. I think the second part explains it better but, let me know because I am not totally happy with it.

Enjoy!

Sesshomaru dispatched Nen and Jin to return Rentarou back to the demon slayer village and ordered Kohaku to patrol the perimeter, which while unsaid was very clearly a punishment.

While he had spoken firmly to Riku about his part in it he understood that he was simply following Izumis orders, regardless of the satisfaction he knew the other male derived from it.

Not that Sesshomaru found any fault in that. He was incensed and enraged that something of this magnitude had occurred to his most vulnerable females under his protection.

"Lord Sesshomaru, you're going to sigh all of your happiness away." Rin said. Sitting beside him on their futon leaning against the moko-moko together he had his eyes closed.

Keeping her eye on him she took his hand in hers placing it to her stomach. "I have already begun to show early on which is not uncommon with a second pregnancy. I can't imagine being any bigger this time than I was last."

"Lets leave." Sesshomaru said suddenly. Opening his eyes he turned to her.

"Where will we go?" She asked curiously.

"Away from here." He said. "All of this, we have done more than enough. Let Izumi and Kohaku manage this on their own."

"You mean to leave permanently." Rin said her mouth slightly agape.

"Yes. We will resume the life that we had planned before, with Jaken and the dragons. You and I…our pups."

"Hmmm." Rin hummed out pursing her lips for a moment. "Just us, traveling as we once did."

"Yes."

"My lord, it doesn't appeal to me as it once did. Traveling with no direction in mind, no home or support if we need it." She thought out. "I understand why you wish to leave, I do, but now is not the time. You are right, this is not how I ever imagined our lives being…it is so much better than anything I could have dreamed of."

Watching her eyes shimmer as tears began to form he reached over for her with his free hand catching them before they fell.

"Then we will stay."

"Lord Sesshomaru, if you feel the need to travel I will not tell you not to." Rin said. "I would never hold you somewhere that you do not wish to be."

"The only place I wish to be is by your side." He replied earnestly. "It would make me a poor mate indeed to abandon you with two pups."

"Never. Even if you were away from us I know that you would keep us in your heart and everything you did would be for Hotaru, our son, and I." She assured with a warm smile.

"My biggest fear is letting you down, do you know that? That is my greatest worry."

"As perfect as you are husband, you cannot always be." Rin said. "Things happen that are not in our control but I have seen you take control and right the wrongs committed against us. Whatever happens I know that you will continue to do so."

Gathering her to him he pulled her on top of her to hold her close with her head on his chest. Growling low in his chest she hummed contently as the rumble brought her comfort.

"I don't remember the first time you did this for me, just that it has always made me feel safe and loved." Rin said softly.

"Sometime after we met the weather turned cold. I did not know much about humans but soon realized you could not withstand the chill as I could." He said. "Even with the warmth of a fire and An-Un beside you, you nearly froze. I wrapped you in the moko-moko and held you like this to warm you."

Smiling wide she nuzzled against him further. "Thank you."

"You are welcome." Looking to their daughter as she slept in her basket he smiled to himself.

Izumi sat on the edge of her futon watching Hisashi wrestle with his blanket kicking it off of him before tossing it in the air again to drag it up with his teeth to cover himself.

The door slid open as Kohaku came in closing it behind him. Hisashi looked to him and erupted in happy barks rushing to him as he slipped being tangled in the blanket.

Chuckling softly Kohaku picked him up kissing his forehead.

"Hello son." He greeted as Hisashi rubbed his nose against his cheek. "Been doing a good job watching over your mother for me?"

"Any word from Nen or Jin?" Izumi asked from her spot.

"No. It is three days there and three days back, it has only been two." Kohaku said. Placing Hisashi down to remove his armor and weapon to hang on their wall he began to undress.

"It feels like it has been weeks." She replied. "The anxiety is making me sick to my stomach."

"Are you certain it is just the anxiety?" Kohaku questioned with a raised brow and his crooked smirk.

"Could be both, your pup and what is going on." She smirked back at him. Pulling on his yukata Kohaku moved to sit next to her wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"Is that confirmation?"

"Yes." She nodded putting her head against his shoulder. "I felt it earlier, its energy apart from mine."

Smiling widely Kohaku felt a great sense of pride swell in his chest. "Thank you." He whispered.

"You are welcome." She said as they watched Hisashi play on the floor. "Why didn't you say anything to any of us, to me, about what is going on in your former village?"

"I was hoping for an amicable split. When I went to the village, once you and I decided to be together, I explained to a few that I trusted, Masaru; Rentarous father was one of them." Kohaku explained.

"He never understood why I would occasionally join Lord Sesshomaru if he requested me or what had possessed me to you for my wife."

"Hm, sounds familiar."

"The village is made up of displaced demon slayers. They were people I came across and brought together. Many of them only see demons one way; as a threat because that is all they have ever seen of them. Even though Masaru was not happy with my decision he was the best to lead so I put him in that position."

"But why was his son here?" Izumi questioned.

"Rentarou seemed to understand and listen to me when i would explain my situation and my views. Word came to me that he, Nagi, and Jin wanted to leave the village but had nowhere to go. So I…" Shaking his head he sighed. "I made a mistake."

"Did they know before where we were?"

"Not exactly. A rough location but not precise."

"Kohaku…" She whispered out. "Why didn't you tell us?" Closing her eyes before her tears fell she cuddled closer to him.

"I trusted Rentarou. I trusted that he would come here and find his place as we all have. He never showed any signs or had any complaints against him of any behavior like this." Kohaku replied.

"More than likely he was just never caught."

"Izumi, I don't know what is going to happen, how Masaru will react. If he comes after us with the others…"

"You will protect us. Mate, you need to help the other to know how to protect themselves against an attack from demon slayers. That salve that Rentarou had…"

"I plan on it. Tomorrow I am going to speak with Lord Sesshomaru so we can ready the others, just in case."

Wrapping her arms around his middle she sighed. Not knowing what to say they sat in silence
