"Why is it always you three?" Recovery Girl shook her head

Kacchan carefully helped Hitoshi transfer from his back to the bed in the infirmary.

"There's only two of us."

"And yet I'm almost certain Midoriya is involved in this somehow."

He didn't reply.

"Exactly."

She began to look over Hitoshi.

"Oh dear, what am I going to do with you."

His cousin smiled sweetly.

"Sorry."

"I'm sure you didn't set out to get hurt, dear, but I do wish you would be more careful."

"We bring you some breaking news. Pro heroes have apprehended Gentle Criminal and La Brava in the last few minutes. The two came to public attention through a series of videos posted online..."

He turned to the screen, the footage live from an aerial shot where, in a blink or you'll miss it moment, he spotted a flash of green as Deku made his escape to avoid the police.

"Zuku did it." Hitoshi's tired voice spoke up.

"Well, you'd already helped before he got there." He smirked.

"Shut up!" His cousin chuckled.

"When you two are quite finished." Recovery Girl interrupted. "Now dear." She pressed a kiss to his head, the healing process beginning instantaneously.

He went to take a seat beside the bed, but a hand stopped him.

"You need to go."

"What? No way, I'm staying here-."

"Zuku's on his way back, you need to do the concert, Eri will wanna' see you."

"Toshi..."

"I'm fine, I just need some rest, that's all." Tosh then pulled out the big guns. "Please."

Those damn puppy dog eyes.

He exhaled softly.

"Fine."

"Thank you." Hitoshi beamed sleepily.

"Get some rest, idiot."

Only a nod followed.

And with that, he raced off to the school hall.

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!" The class collectively screamed as he entered the hall.

"Long story." He stated.

"Where's Hitoshi?"

The students started filing into the crowd.

"What do you mean he's not coming?!"

"Nevermind that, if he says Hitoshi isn't coming then he isn't coming; the main problem we have is Deku isn't here either."

"Yeah where's Deku?"

Kacchan walked round the drum kit and took a seat.

"He'll be here."

"How do you-."

"He'll be here! Now get off my ass!"

They elected not to ask anymore questions.

His phone began to vibrate; he pulled it out to find a text from Uncle Zashi.

'Everything alright?'

'We're handling it. Trust us. Please.'

He knew he should mention Toshi lying in the medical wing. He knew he should mention his condition, or even send them over there, but...

He wouldn't ruin what Toshi had fought for, what he'd gotten hurt for, what he was still fighting for.

The festival would go ahead without a hitch, the three of them would make sure of it.

It wasn't long before Deku made an appearance looking like shit. The class didn't even have enough time to interrogate him.

"GO GET CHANGED! HURRY!"

As he walked off backstage, their eyes met.

"Is it done?" He asked simply.

Despite already knowing the outcome from the news, despite seeing the asshole get arrested, despite everything, a part of him just needed to hear from his cousin that the fuck who'd hurt Hitoshi had gotten what he deserved.

A simple nod followed.

"Good."

Once the door had clicked closed and Kacchan's footsteps in the corridor had disappeared, Recovery Girl spoke up.

"Hitoshi Aizawa... what good is lying?"

He took a deep breath but didn't answer.

"I don't like it when children downplay their injuries like that."

"I didn't lie, I just didn't tell him." He bit his lip nervously.

"Your vision, it's completely gone, isn't it? You're just so used to training with your Father blindfolded that you were able to play pretend."

He lowered his head, fingers fiddling with the material of the bed covers.

"I got hit and then I don't remember much else. I woke up being carried by Kacchan but everything was just dark."

She sighed.

"My treatment won't be enough to bring it back, not in one dose anyway, you'll need regular appointments and time. The brain is a clever thing, it will need rest to heal itself and then there may be a chance your eyesight will return."

"I was only working with half to begin with." He joked, although the humour wasn't quite there in his tone.

"You shouldn't make them worry like that."

"Sorry."

They said nothing more for a few minutes. He could hear her tidying up around the infirmary.

"Do you think there's any chance of me getting to that festival?"

"For your class' performance, no, definitely not."

He slumped a little in dejection.

"But after a few rounds of treatment and some rest I don't see why you shouldn't be able to wander around looking at some stalls with Eri."

"Thank you."

"How are you feeling, dear?"

"I'm a little sad."

"Why's that?"

"I never did get to see what a concert was."

A hand gently came to stroke through his hair.

"You just think about getting better, sweetie." Her voice was soft.

He nodded, lying back against the pillows. And despite everything going on, he fell asleep almost instantly.
