Heyo I'm back! I apologize for so long a silence, but I had a lot of college stuff to get out, and online classes didn't help with that. I recently binge watched Power Rangers Megaforce, and decided to make a few fanfics based on the show. Here is the first one, so hope you enjoy!
Jake Holling slowly opened his eyes, and groggily sat up. Allowing his eyes to adjust to the morning sunlight, he reached for his phone on the nightstand beside his bed, which was ringing off the hook.
Brand new Lamborghini f* the cop car
Whip the pistol off my hip like imma cop
(yeah yeah yeah)
Have you ever met a real _ rockstar
This ain't no guitar, bitch it's a glock!
Glock told me no problem--
"Hello?" Jake said, sleepily into the phone, not bothering to see who called, mainly because he had a feeling he knew who it was. Who else would be calling him at 7 in the morning?
"Hello? That's it? All I get is just Hello? No "morning babe" or "hey babe, what's up"?" Jake laughed as Gia's voice came through. Even though he couldn't see her, he knew she was trying to fake being insulted.
"That's what you get when you call at 7 in the morning, babe" Jake answered.
"Jake, it's summer vacation" Gia reasoned.
"And? If anything, that's a prime reason to sleep in" Jake said, simply. He heard Gia huff through the phone, and immediately felt guilty. "Okay, babe, I'm sorry. Tell you what. 11 o'clock. You, me, at Earnie's. On me." Jake treated.
"I can never say no to a free Froyo" Gia gave in. "But there was a reason I called so early: I couldn't contain my excitement!" Gia nearly shrieked into the phone.
"Okay, can I turn your volume down?" Jake asked, pulling his phone from his ears and began moving his jaw around, attempting to stop the subtle ringing in his ears that had begun. Putting the phone back up to his ear, he heard Gia talking with someone in the background, most likely one of her parents. When they ended their conversation, Gia got back on the phone.
"You say something?" She asked. Jake stifled a laugh.
"I just wanted to know what has you so excited." Jake covered up. From what he knew, and from what Noah had told him, telling a girl to quiet down was never a good idea. Fortunately, Gia seemed too preoccupied with whatever was exciting her.
"So you know how we're now, technically, retired? As in, from Ranger duties? And how we've all been wanting to take a vacation, as somewhat of a reward" Gia asked. Jake sat up, curious as to where this was going.
"Yes?" He questioned.
"Well, my parents want to take us all over to Florida for the month!" Gia shrieked again, but this time, Jake didn't flinch. He was contemplating what his girlfriend had just told him. An entire month. With his friends and girlfriend. In Florida. How can he say not to that? "Earth to Jake, you with me?" Gia's voice brought Jake back to reality.
"Yeah, I'm here." Jake confirmed, getting over his initial shock.
"Well?" Gia asked. "Do you want to come?"
"Are you kidding, Gia!? Of Course!!!" Jake nearly shouted into his phone. He heard Gia's sweet laugh over the phone, and he laughed along.
"Good, because my parents already got the plane tickets. We leave tomorrow morning. Our flight is at 7:00 AM, so you guys are sleeping over here tonight. Emma just got here, per usual, and she's calling Troy and Noah right now!" Jake had to smile. Before he and Gia began dating, Gia was a very closed-off person. Even in their Ranger friend group, she seemed distracted. Hearing Gia be so excited about something made him happy.
"So, what, do you guys have a beach house over there or something?" Jake asked.
"No, we're getting a hotel. My parents have a room. Emma, Troy and Noah have a room, and you and I have our own room." Gia explained. Jake couldn't help but smile.
"We get our own bedroom? What, are we renting a suite?" He asked. He heard Gia giggle over the phone.
"No, boulder brain! We're getting our own hotel room. Like, an entire room, just for us!" Gia clarified.
"Oh nice!" Jake smiled, then something stuck in his mind. "Wait, Naoh is sharing a room with Troy and Emma? You know those two like to do...stuff when they have the chance..."
"Don't worry" Gia assured, interrupting Jake's concern. "They have a bigger room, so Noah has his own space. Plus, we won't be in the hotel too much, anyway. We're right on Clearwater beach!" Jake smile widened even more. He had gone to Clearwater Florida on vacation with his family before, back when he was little, and wanted to go back ever since. He could hear someone calling Gia in the background, and he was brought back into reality, again.
"You need to go do something?" Jake asked.
"Yeah, my mom wants me to pack, which I should do, if we're meeting at Earnie's at 11." Gia laughed.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." Jake said, already contemplating what to pack.
"Okay, bring your bags to Earnie's and we'll head back to my place afterwords. Emma's meeting Troy for lunch, and Noah's having a late breakfast with his family. We'll have some time before we meet up with everyone." Gia said. Jake laughed.
"Save the good stuff for Florida, babe." Jake teased, and Gia laughed.
"Very well. See ya at 11!" She said, and hung up. Jake could barely contain his excitement as he barreled downstairs to tell his parents who, after some consideration, as well as "the talk", agreed that he should go. They had no idea that him and his friends were the Power Rangers, but they knew that they worked themselves hard over the last couple years, and knew they needed a break like this.
