After having a conversation with GoldenEnderHawk, we started talking about what if the Doctor turned into a Dandelion, and here the story is.

When Theta was a boy there was a story, an old, old story about a man. A man of wealth and privilege, a lord who threw away his wealth and his titles to run away and see the stars. Sometimes he wondered if it had been worth it to that man...

This is my idea of what might have happened on some of the many nights that the Doctor spent with River Song throughout their relationship. I have made some significant changes since the initial posting in November to correct timeline errors and various typos. I hope to begin posting the remaining chapters as I have them edited.
