Bucky Barnes does not see memories the way other people do. He has memories of events that have not happened yet. He can see bits of his life in the future the same way other people look back on past events. While at the Captain America Smithsonian Exhibit, Samantha gets a chance encounter with a guy in a ball-cap. Little does she know she is about to help a guy who has no memory, serious PTSD, and is a piece of history that can possibly kill her in her sleep. Or his sleep. Should be simple, right? Oh, turns out HYDRA didn't end in the forties, that may kill them both.

After the destruction of the Triskelion, the Winter Soldier has been on the run. Steve Rogers recruits two people to find him, but it is no easy task. Eleanor will find herself in a precarious situation as it becomes clear that the mission she was sent on is not the mission the Winter Soldier has in store for her.

Bucky has been protective of Steve for as long as he can remember. He supposes it makes sense that his serum would amplify that, for better or worse.

After fighting the constant ache of guilt; Steve is finally granted a second chance to restore the damage of his past. He knows it will be a harrowing process, but with a little faith and brotherly strength, he finds a way to bring a lost soldier home.

In which Steve hears that same song playing, and discovers another shadow of a figure waiting for him.
