Esme's POV

I had just finished talking with Bella, she didn't have cold feet, the only problem was that she couldn't walk on her feet, because of her shoes. After a few more walking practices, she went home, and I went to talk with Edward. Edward and I had a more special bond then the others, because he was my first "son". He was sitting on the bed Bella sleeps in in his room, and was talking with Carlisle. I loved my family, it was huge, but Carlisle and Edward were always... a different family? I'm not sure how to describe it. Of course, I love Alice and Jazz, and Rose and Emmett, and now, Bella, but I have a special bond with Edward and Carlisle, like we're a mini family in a big one. Carlisle smiled at me, and it reminded me of the first time I saw him, as a human. I had broken my leg climbing a tree, and he plastered it up. I remember looking into his golden eyes for the first time, to be honest, the memory is foggy, like most of my human memories, but I try to think of certain memories everyday so the memory stays fresh in my brain. That's one of the good things about being a vampire, you can't forget. One of my favourite memories was when Carlisle was at work one day, and I joined Edward sitting on the porch. I saw Edward smile when he read my thoughts,

"That's one of my favourites too, Esme." He said, reaching under the bed and pulled out a huge box. It didn't surprise me that he had a box under his bed. We have to clear out lots of our belongings in each move, maybe a couple outfits (if Alice approves) or a book you know you won't read again. We collect lots of objects over the centuries, but it takes up a lot of room, so the rule is you have to through out lots of belongings each move. Edward opened the box and tipped out about ten scrap books.

"One for each century. I'm working on right now, it's in my desk somewhere, but if you flip through this book..." he flipped through the pages of an old red covered book, and dust went everywhere. Finally, he stopped, and grinned at the picture.

"This was that moment, we had been there about and hour and only I had noticed Carlisle had come home. He snapped this picture before you could smell his sent." I looked at the picture, my head was on Edward's shoulder, and Edward's arm was wrapped around my waist.

1937 Esme's POV

I looked out the window after finishing a blueprint for our new house. Edward was sitting on the porch swinging, looking out into the woods. I hadn't spent much time with Edward, just on our own. I went out to sit next to him. We sat in silence for about five minutes, before Edward said

"Thank you, Esme."

"For what?" I asked, looking up at him. He was still staring out to the woods.

"Making Carlisle happy. I mean, he was happy before you, but... he's... changed. He seems... more excited. More enthusiastic. We both feel like that with you here." He said, still not making eye contact. We sat in silence for a while. I shuffled closer to him and lay my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around my waist and I sighed. I was happy here. We sat in silence like that for about an hour, I heard a small click, but I didn't think anything of it. Edward turned around but I didn't care. I was just happy to be there in the moment. I then smelled Carlisle, he must have been behind us. I turned around to look at him and smiled, but I didn't care about him in that moment. I settled my head back onto Edward's shoulder, and his shoulder shaked as he laughed at my thoughts.

"You don't care about Carlisle do you?" He asked, and I heard Carlisle laughing behind me. I just stayed silent as Carlisle sat down on the deck chair next to the swing and talked with Edward about their days.

Edward was smiling as he thought of the memory with me. I went and sat in Carlisle's lap and he kissed my head. Edward kept on flicking through the book. He took a photo out of the book and gave it to me. It was of me and Carlisle sitting on my bed before we were dating. He was hugging me, and thankfully, you couldn't see my eyes because they were a dark scarlet red. My face was facing the wall and Carlisle's was facing the door. He hadn't seen Edward, his face was buried into my shoulder, his hand stroking my hair. The photo was taken a couple days after my first slip up, when I mentally told Edward that I wanted to speak to Carlisle. I had been in my room, not speaking to anyone. Carlisle had told me that it was going to be ok multiple times. I hadn't believed him, but I just hugged him. He was surprised at first, he froze. I hadn't touched Edward or Carlisle once, the whole two months I had been a vampire at the time. I was still recovering from my whole Charles experience. I knew Edward was home at the time, so that must have been why I hadn't seen him, I was expecting his scent to be in the house.

1921 Esme's POV

"Esme?" He knocked on the door. I had asked Edward to send Carlisle up mentally. I had recently had a slip up during a hunt, and my eyes were a dark crimson red.

"Come in..." I said shyly. He had every right to be annoyed at me. He opened the door and sat on the bed next to me. He wrapped one arm around my shoulder and rubbed my arm.

"Esme look at me." He said, but I didn't want him to see my eyes. "Esme," he said, using his index finger to lift up my chin. I didn't fight him. He looked into my eyes and then pulled me to his chest, resting his chin on my head. He wrapped his arms around me and held me there. I heard a click and saw a flash, but I didn't think anything of it. We stayed there for a while, him just rubbing my back as I sobbed tearless cries into his chest.

"He had a life. He had a family. I ruined it." I sobbed

"Esme, it happens to everyone. Edward's killed loads of people, but he's better now. It just takes time." He said

"But it didn't happen to you!" I yelled, pulling away. How come he got all the fancy self control?! He just continued to rub my back. "I'm sorry," I said, curling up back into his chest.

"Don't be sorry," he whispered in my ear. I love him so much. I heard Edward chuckle downstairs as he read my thoughts.

Edward sat down next to Carlisle, I was still on his lap. Edward was smiling, thinking of the memory with me.

"EDWARD ANTHONY MASEN CULLEN, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE THIS, SECOND!!!!!!!" Alice screamed, and Edward just sighed. "We need to do one final fitting just to be safe," Alice said coming into the room when Edward didn't move.

"Alice, he doesn't grow, just leave him alone." Carlisle said, tightening his grip around me as if Alice would abduct me.

"I don't care. If he wants Bella to have a human experience, then he needs to play along. Most humans would try the suit on the night before just in case, so he must do the same." Alice said, grabbing Edward's arm and dragging him to her room. Edward could have easily pulled away, but we knew better then to argue with Alice. Edward glared back at me, as if to say 'help' but I just smiled and waved. When they were gone, Carlisle gently kissed my lips, and we smiled.
