The next morning, she had them running again and practicing the Echani fighting method with clothing as the guys did not need to know that version and their body gloves did not conceal their movements in case, they were doing something wrong. Her kata was a speed kata and one of the harder ones her lightsaber was a nearly a sphere of light with how fast she could get. Hast interrupted which she thought to ignore but she knew the droid well enough not to.
"Master, I have gone over our inventory, and I suggest we resupply on several key munitions and supplies." Hast did not care who was doing what and his programming was always focused on combat and survival as Ress had also focused on. She stopped her kata which got the attention of both men.
"What we can get a hold of on this world does not have many equivalents." Skye pulled a towel to her as her kata was one of the few that were strenuous without having to run all over the place. It was close to stopping before lunch
"That is true, but Master adding your fighter to the inventory and the basic supplies it carried and what you retrieved from the Benign has increase our thermal detonators to ten, our proton torpedo count to three. With the four of us we should carry at least four thermal detonators each and you fighter should have at least four proton torpedoes in reserve. We have eight blasters with several charged cartridges both side arm and carbine. My sniper rifle could use an extra power cell."
"I am sure that is not even part of your list but again this world..."
"Has some equivalents we can acquire. For basic analysis the military base has the supplies we can modify to work. I have only mentioned the ones that we will have to construct ourselves."
"If it is the same place, we may just fulfill those missing munitions, but I doubt we will be able to raid a military base so easily." Uber and Leet came over and she could feel they were interested.
"Okay what are proton torpedoes and thermal detonators?" Jeff asked with Mike looking very excited.
Both are names that no longer define such weapons. Both use a form of hypermatter to damage ships or even combat personal. A thermal detonator will create a hyperspace bubble several meters wide which pushes everything it contact into hyperspace. The resulting implosion explosion will knock anyone over in a ten-meter area. The proton torpedo does the same but on a larger scale. They do large area damage to capital ships and vaporize small fighters."
"That sound like some serious fire power."
"It is indeed. To give an example the three we have would remove the largest ship in the bay." both of the guys looked at each other before they grinned. She did not like the feeling she was getting from them. "What?"
"If we can remove that ship the ones that still float can be moved, and the docks would be cleared enough to allow shipping to return to the bay."
"We would be no longer be just villains."
"Ya, antiheroes at least."
"Aren't they just heroes that kill?"
"Okay ya but..."
"Boys please. Your idea does have merit, but such implosion explosion could be large enough to do serious damage to the buildings closest to the boat graveyard." The two lost much of their energy but they were not diminished in their signature in the Force.
"Plus, the military base would have too many personal."
"Ya but no capes."
"We would have to rent a truck or take several military trucks."
"Ya but we could be tracked down easily."
"Not if we just recover what we need and a few other things that would be helpful. Fuel for the fighter and some hyper matter would be nice to top off the fighter not that there is anywhere to go."
"We could go this weekend."
"But we are low on funds."
"That is not one of our worries." Skye stated as she thought about what was at the bank. She would have to go personally, but she would have to leave the food counter before it opens to travel across the city.
"How much would we need for a rental?"
"Several hundred for the day and extra to avoid a paper trail."
"Ya, we have done it before. Cheap if ya are moving from one place to another but using a credit card is a good way to out your cape name."
"Very well use the paper money in the green case while I go to acquire extra funds at the bank."
"Alright we can do that." Skye goes and puts on clothing that was more appropriate to the city she was in. She still wore boots, but these had a two-inch heel which helped her 170cm height. Leggings would keep her legs warm under the Jean skater skirt. A tank top under a thick hoodie allowed her to carry her lightsaber in front of her and she barely looked inside the small backpack. She saw enough to see that it had this world's equivalent of essentials.
Her comlink was concealed under the loose sleeves. Thin knitted gloves and a matching hat would keep her hands warm, and her ears concealed. Though she wore a headband over her ears as a secondary precaution. She met the two back in the common area and she spun.
"Is this good for a local girl named Sara?"
You're looking good." Mike mumbled before looking away. Jeff looked a bit longer, but she felt he was observing her critically.
"Got any makeup?"
"I do not know." He walked off to the room I had taken and searched through the boxes I had not opened, and he found nothing. Then he went to his room and came back with a case.
"I have used this is the past for different looks to better match some character I was copying. Not much but you will look out of place without it."
"I do not need to attract a mate."
"Woman here don't do it just to attract another. They wear it to feel good. To cover a blemish or scar or even a wound." Skye felt several emotions going through his mind but nothing that settled on his mind. Mascara eyeliner a bit of blush eye shadow and lipstick. What Jeff did was not much, but it gave her a slightly different look and it strangely matched the image on the one card that carried her name.
"Drop me off on the other side of the bridge. I will then take a bus."
"Na, we can drive you. Rental place we need is on the south side of downtown." Jeff countered as he grabbed a set of keys. She had to admire Jeff's skill as he drove. Nearly every move was effortless and the meals he was cooking good as well though it was only the two. She would have to bring some food supplies from the grocery.
"Jeff, can you go buy food supplies? I would be pleased to have you cook something. I prefer more vegetables compared to a starch and not much meat."
"You got it."
"And no more take out. It is slowing you both down."
"You are not going to get me to stop eating pizza." She giggled and Mike groaned as he probably should not have said anything.
Skye arrived at the bank just before eleven. She walked in and realized she should have had one of them come with her as she put her umbrella in one of the plastic bags. Of all the times to start raining. Though most times she did not mind the rain. She looked at the teller and then to the desks off to the side. As a woman came up to her with a name tag stating she was Alice.
"Can I help you?"
"Yes, I think. My name is Sara Sherwood. I came to make sure my accounts here are still valid and I need a new card as well."
"Do you still have an account card or a bank book?" Skye opened her backpack and pulled out the gold and black book.
"Oh, this will do nicely. Come this way." Alice walked slightly ahead of her leading her to one of the desks.
"Mr. Lynn can help you. Sir, Sara here is a prestige account holder." She handed him the bank book. He looked it over and type in the number on the inside cover.
"Oh yes I see, but I need ID as it has been several years since anyone has accessed the account locally." Sara pulled out the two ID's and he looked them over as the printer worked. He then took the paper out and handed her a pen.
"I know signatures can change, but sign like you did two years ago." The paper was folded over but she had seen the signature on the paperwork, and it matched the book. Using the Force to guide her hand she was sure even an expert would have trouble seeing any differences.
"Excellent and here, write your special word." Skye wrote in grasshopper and again thought it was a silly password. He flipped the page and compared to another and then turned to his computer typing in fairly quickly. A machine behind him began to work and in less than a minute pushed out an ATM card. He then gave it to her with her ID's. He pointed out several places where she had to sign, and she read the documents and it was as identical to the ones that were in Russel's notes.
"You are all set. Now remember your daily limit for the card is 2500 and you can call the service number on the back if you need to increase the limit for the day, up to ten thousand. Purchases are unrestricted as long as the credit feature is used. Your trust fund will transfer funds on a weekly basis to no more than ten thousand a week with an initial amount in your checking of 25000."
"Thank you."
"It is the least we can do, and I hope you will accept our condolences. I met your father several times and he was a charmer. He will be missed."
"Thank you again."
"Good day."
"Goodbye." Sara got up and walked by the center table before walking up to an empty teller. She pulled out five hundred for a bit of spending money as the card could now take care of many other things she had in mind. Several things for Jeff and Mike and there were a few things that she did not have like makeup and other items that did not hold up well even in vacuum. As she was walking out a shy girl with rolling emotions came through the door.
Her strong nose, frizzy brown hair and freckles triggered a memory and she recognized that she was Panacea. The girl was radiating depression through the Force. With her being a healer Skye was interested in her and how she healed compared to the Force. Amy was her civilian name and as she put her umbrella in a bag like she had done Skye walked up to her.
DISTRACTION
"Hello Amy. My name is Sara." The girl looked her over as Skye felt several different emotions. One was confusion another resignation as if she got recognized a lot. She also had a dull fear which must be a common reaction to probably being asked to heal someone. However, because Skye held out her hand Amy took it at the same time she felt a hint of attraction coming from the girl.
The Force hinted as the only reason she took Skye's hand was because she just put her gloves back on. She gave the girl a gentle smile that help project the recognition that she knew how she felt. Holding her hand gave me a bit more information. She was not sleeping right, and she could use some form of exercise more than whatever she was doing currently. The girl's eyes seemed to widen as Skye smiled warmly at her.
"Do I know you?"
"No not yet. I am Skye and since I can heal as well, I wanted to meet you, and the Force brought us together."
"Really?" Amy looked to be thinking and then her eyes widened again before she frowned. Again, her emotions were all over the place. That she was now feeling a bit guilty for some reason.
"Yes, but I am sure you are on your lunch time, so I won't keep you. Can we share comlink codes?"
"What?!" Skye surprised herself as she suddenly blushed fast er than she could balance it out with the Force. It felt strangely nice to let it run its course, but she quickly corrected herself.
"Um, phone number?"
"Oh sure." Skye unlocked her comlink and Amy pulled out a common phone that looked like it could survive a beating. She swiped her finger towards Skye and her comlink beeped. She did the same and Amy's beeped as well.
"Any good places around her to have lunch?"
"Yes, there is a bistro around the corner."
"Thanks, maybe I'll see you there." She felt the sudden shift and she had a hunch.
"Maybe." She glanced back and then winked.
"Then it's a date."
Skye turned and walked out of the bank pulling the bag off the umbrella using the Force to put it in the receptacle while the door opened. Her reaction in the Force was exactly as she had felt would happen. It was not the first time she had to use such a method to influence someone, but it was very nice for it to be an innocent girl then a slimy Hutt. She did fell a bit guilty abusing her feelings and leading her on, but something along with the Force guided her to do so.
The feeling strangely warmed her, but an image of her master chased the feeling away. It took a bit of time to cross the street and five minutes to find the bistro. Skye entered about the same time that the Undersiders entered the main room of the bank. The Force was rolling in the back of her mind but between hunger and her feeling good she pushed it to the side. It was not until she heard a siren at the same time, she felt a stronger projection of fear that she pushed her feelings into the Force as she chewed. Her eyes closed and she felt fear. Like dozens of people were in fear. Her sandwich was forgotten along with her umbrella. The hood did what it could again the rain as she ran back to the bank.
Getting there she had her lightsaber out as she saw the chaos and broken windows and walls. A rolling cloud of darkness rolled over her as she heard the muffled sounds of very large beasts. She opened herself wide with the Force and the darkness thinned enough to pick up the Force signatures of everyone around and she saw three large shapes running away from the bank. The cloud blew away and she rushed through the broken window. How could she have not noticed this was going to happen? Shouldn't the Force have warned her? It could have but she was not really listening. She had been nervous to collect her card as she claimed Sara Sherwood's accounts. Then there was Amy who distracted her and made her do several rash things.
"Amy?" She looked over the remaining customers and found Amy lying on the floor. As another rolled on the floor that the Force signaled was related to Amy being here. She was out cold, so not that injured. Bugs were everywhere and they felt confused and agitated with so many being there in the Force. She closed her eyes and let the bugs sense there was food nearby. That it was outside the building. The girl on the floor was crying and the flickering shield gave her another clue. The strangest feeling was coming off the girl. It fluctuated from projecting adoration to fear going so fast that neither emotion was dominant.
"Turn off you shield, or it will prevent me from healing you." The blonde girl turned and looked at me with confusion.
"You're not Ames. You can't heal me."
"Amy is unconscious and yes the Force allows me to heal."
"Okay." I touched her skin and sent the Force flowing inside her. The bites were not as worse as they could be, but there were dozens. I focused allowing the Force to tell her body how to process and purge the venom as I slowly moved my hands from one wound to the other. As this was going on her aura got stronger and stronger.
"Please stop projecting emotions. It is affecting my mental shield and my concentration. The mental pressure faded but did not complete go away. It felt good and was meant to have another see her in another light, but Skye had felt the opposite of this would be fear. It was a ploy that many Sith used by projecting fear or rage on another. The last welt she could feel cooled after a moment.
"Thank you that was different."
"The Force allows me to tell your body how it is supposed to be. Then your cells realign back to how they were. With poisons or venom, it is a bit different as your body has to break it down. I must see to Amy."
"Okay." Skye and Victoria moved over to Amy's still form. She heard a sob escape Vicky as she looked over her shoulder. Taking her glove off she places her hand on the spot where she was hit on the head. The concussion was already swelling a bit, but not serious to cause lasting injury. The Force flowed out of her glowing hand, and it made her gasp in wonder. Amy felt so different from Vicky or the guys and from many of the others she had healed since she got her.
Amy felt as if she was not human at the same time she was. She had the same duality as every parahuman she had met so far, but she could feel that the girl had so much potential. She was not just a healer as her mind brushed hers. This made her gasp again as Amy was not blocking her at all. It was as if the girl did not have a will of her own to develop even the barest of mental shields.
However, as she healed the damage and helped clear her brain of the swelling and fluid, she poked a few spots she knew that would stimulate her to form a mental shield. It suddenly snapped into place as her eyes popped open. In this moment Skye gasped as she felt total adoration, but it was focused solely on the girl behind her. Vicky's aura flared and the Force supplied the rest.
"Amy you are not in love. What you are feeling is an illusion." Amy blinked and then blinked again as I felt Vicky's confusion join with Amy's. Then horror set in along with guilt and abject rage. Which all exploded as her heart shattered in sorrow. Skye felt a shift in her duality of personality as she allowed the Force to flow through her and calm her while whispering in her ear.
"It's alright this is false as well. Calm, peace, find your center." The presence settled and The Force felt relieved as something was averted. The vision she had with Taylor came to mind as Amy suddenly hugged her.
