She discovered the existence of the Flames for the first time is when she has been approached by a man with a checkered iron mask, complete with a top hat, offering her a job. This is when she has just been locked in this form by Happosai and got kicked out from the Tendo. Ah, Genma also disowned her without her mother's knowledge.
With no other choice available to her, she accepted the job offer. When she arrived at the location the masked man give her, there is a few that arrived before her. One is Luce, The donna of Giglio Nero Famiglia, whatever she means by that. Then there is Verde, a scientist. A mad one. But in a good kind.
Then there is Lal Mirch. She is in some kind of military. The elite type, based on how she held herself and the way she walk. After that is Viper. An information broker and money lover with a magnitude of several times higher than Nabiki. She also can create illusions, that sometimes can become real. Skull is punk/goth. He is a stuntman, one with an injury level that rivaled Ranma in some of her high-level fights. But he is a good guy nonetheless. He is also the only one there within her age, as Skull's age is around 20. The last one is the type she hated. Reborn is a hitman for the mafia and other underworld organizations. He is a smug bastard with the ability and skill to back it up.
(Only she and Skull are civilians and not in the know. Both of them knew about the Mafia and the underworld of crime soon enough after their first jobs.)
Since then, their group of seven, I Prescelti Sette or the Strongest Seven as they are called, will take any types of missions and sometimes even errands from their employer, the man with a checkered iron mask. She is mostly tasked with protecting their least capable or important person and safeguarding item job.
Seer, Punk, and Mad Scientist are not very capable of protecting themselves, so she is tasked with protecting them while Mili, Swirly, and Money Grubber do the assassination. No, it's not her that giving them their nickname. It's their employer that them the nickname. She is nicknamed Horse.
If they got the job of guarding a person or persons, she will automatically be the leader for that job, giving order or direction to others. She was also entrusted with the safekeeping and safeguarding items job. Same with items delivery. She probably get chosen to do those jobs because of her "stuff space" or Ki pocket. Her "stuff space" does not exist until she makes the hole or door for her Ki storage with her Ki, making her an ideal person for that sort of job. And the amount and mass of things and even humans that she can put in her "stuff space" is depending on the amount of her Ki, which is pretty big. She discovered the human part when she put accidentally Skull in her "stuff space" when he handed her the item that need to be delivered. When she pulls Skull out from her Ki storage, he is a bit dazed, but otherwise, he is okay. When others like Mammon, Lal, and Reborn knew about that, she is used as a portable cabin and her Ki storage is used to smuggle them to the enemies base when the type of guerrilla or extermination job comes to their doorstep.
Just in a few missions from their employer, she already becomes richer than she ever dreamed herself to be. Hell, in their tenth job, she was officially richer than the Kunos.
While she was in this group of seven, she learned many new things from the other seven members. From Luce, she learned how to accept her curse. From Verde, she learned to be more adaptable in using technology, and thank to Verde's help, she was able to hack into Nabiki's computer and erased all the explicit photos of herself. From Lal Mirch and Colonello, the little interloper that sometimes joined in their job, she learned how to appreciate life. After all, they are military. Loss of life happens every day in war, so they need to appreciate a life that could be snuffed out anytime they blinked. From Skull, she learned how to drive all types of vehicles. Be it a car, motorcycle, boat, or even B2 Bomber jet plane, she could drive/ride/pilot them all. From her big sis Mammon, she learned to be frugal. She teaches her to be better at managing her money. And finally Reborn teach her to kill, to kill one sinful life to protect another two full of innocence.
And from them, she learned about the existence of Dying Will Flames of the Sky. She won't know if her tendency to wear red is stemmed from the overflowing Storm inside her. Her Storm is very strong, but it doesn't mean she doesn't have other Flame types in her. Her secondary type is Sun and Rain, with weak soft Sky and Lightning. Curiously, she also has an unknown Flame type, in form of ice shards.
In return, she teaches all she could to them. She teaches them some of her moves. Though some of her techniques have led them to scratch their head. Like Ki storage, Moko Takabisha and Bakusai Tenketsu. Some can use Ki storage and her other unoffensive Ki technique. Some can't use Ki storage but can do her Moko Takabisha, although using different emotions, and Hiryuu Shoten Ha.
She also developed eight different martial arts based on Musabetsu Kakutō Ryū and seven Flame of the Sky and her unknown icy one. Each is created with the Flame's characteristics as the basis. Six of the style is created solely for the uses of the other six, seven if you include Colonello, of the team, using on their respective Flame, technique, and weapons if they used one. Like Reborn, Lal Mirch, and Colonello using hardened gun and rifle with Ki as a melee weapon.
Even Yama-Sen-Ken and Umi-Sen-Ken's technique got revised and upgraded like Kijin Raishu Dan that have the added effect of disintegration that will not be stopped unless any strong Flame of Sun, Lightning, Rain or Sky is applied to the thing that got cut by null pressure blade of Yama-Sen-Ken infused with Storm Flame. Umi-Sen-Ken has the added benefit of healing herself and others using Sun Flame within in the invisibility cloak of Umi-Sen-Ken.
Now, all of her moves are infused with her Flames, with her using Storm and Sun the most often. Even her Ki move is infused with Flame, although with a little difficulty. Now, unless her opponent is Grandmaster level in using Ki or Flames user in I Prescelti Sette caliber, they can't beat her, unless her opponents are fighting dirty. Even then, she still pulls a win out of her ass even if they are fighting dirty. She truly become the best, like she always claimed to be.
She is content and happy with how she lived her life now. Her life now is better than when she used to live in Nerima. She accepted her curse, because of Luce. Nabiki's minions and other Nerimates did find her, but a threat or two to their family and friends, and they backed off from bothering her ever again. Ryoga and Akane are dumb enough to ignore the threat and still harass her. Right now, she can willingly hit a girl and use lethal force if she has to. Ryoga did always use lethal force against her but she never once do it when she was still at Nerima. Both Akane and Ryoga ended up in hospital after their 4th attempt tried to hit/attack her.
But the most important thing is her mother and her large extended family accepted her and her curse. So yes, she is content with her life.

Ki and Flame are the same but different things. I want to explain it, but I can't. Also, NWC doesn't know anything about Flame and Mafia. The same goes for Mafia regarding Ki and magic.
Ranma is 15 when she is recruited by Checkerface. A day before they cursed into a baby, she met Nodoka, who by now already divorced Genma and using her maiden name back, Hibari. The other seven, including Colonello, are treating Ranma better as she is the youngest in their little group. Yes, including Mammon and Verde. They are not using I Prescelti Sette, at the beginning. They got that after dangerous 10 or so jobs. The name they used before that is Rainbow. Kinda ironic, eh?
She still uses Anything Goes, as Genma just disowned her, not banned her from using the style. Same with Yama-Sen-Ken and Umi-Sen-Ken. All the members of I Prescelti Sette can use the Dying Sky school of Musabetsu Kakutō Ryū, her own version of Anything Goes, in some capacity, thanks to Ranma. And their martial arts are created specifically for them. Each one of them, including Colonello. She doesn't teach Yama-Sen-Ken or Umi-Sen-Ken to them though.
Maintaining Ki storage doesn't require Ki. It's putting in/out stuff or human that requires Ki. The bigger/heavier things/human is, the more Ki is needed to stuff it in the Ki storage. Ki storage also can be used as a cabin. The fridge, couch, generator, food supply, bed, and others things have been stuffed in Ranma's Ki storage, making it liveable in there. Someone can live inside her Ki storage
