What luck is this?! As luck would have it Saruto did indeed have notes for this story in particular I just had to rewrite the latest chapter! So with great joy I give you all the latest chapter of Legacy.
In this chapter I felt like changing a few things up mainly how Dumbledore and his lot will be handled by Harry so I hope you look forward to that.
Remember unless it's OC I DON'T OWN IT!
Chapter Nine
"Ember!" Tonks called as the month old Vulpix opened her mouth and launched a group of small fireballs towards a target striking the center.
"Atta girl Vixen!" Tonks shouted in joy making the fox Pokémon yip in happiness. The date was now February 22rd two days before the second task.
The trio of eggs had hatched almost a month ago and were each training alongside the other Pokémon. The day they hatched Harry also gave each of the new parents a gift.
TM or Tactical Machines to help their newborn Pokémon learn a few useful abilities. Two for each of them to hold on to until they no longer needed them and would return them to him.
Tonks' Vulpix Vixen was learning to better control her fire abilities. Right now, they were target practicing with Ember. Later they would work on the speed and control for Flame Charge, one of the moves she had learned from the TM from Harry. The other had been for a move called Sunny Day which would increase the power of her fire attacks as well as activate her hidden ability if needed.
Nearby Neville was training alongside his partner the Tyrouge Scraper both of whom were learning how to fight under the watchful eyes of Lora and Champ. While Neville had used the two TMs from Harry the pair also trained this way to bond with one another. Later they would work on Rock Smash using small to medium sized stones. The other TM from Harry had been Bulk Up, a status move that increases the attack and defensive power of a Pokémon. Neville had decided to name the little guy Scrapper because the day he hatched the little guy already tried to fight much to his parents' amusement.
Finally was Hermione and her new partner, a female Eevee she named Amphitrite…that is of course after little Amphi confirmed for them that she wanted to become a Vaporeon when Harry showed off the images of her possible changes to her.
The bright stone she wore as a collar around her neck had been another gift from Harry. He called it an Ever Stone, an item used to keep a Pokémon from naturally evolving.
This meant Amphitrite wouldn't evolve in any way until she was ready. Hermione smiled as she watched the little Eevee learn to control Dig from Kali while both had learned from the TM Harry thought practice was good for both of them. The second TM he had given her was Protect to help her with defensive power.
"I think Kali is enjoying her time as a big sister." Hermione looked up towards Harry as he walked back into the enclosure whipping his blade clean of black blood while Dasher, Ronin, Digger, Ember, Blaze, Hedwig, and Psymon moved off to gather some food and water.
The group had been in the Forbidden Forest handling the Acromantula nest that was within. About a week ago Dasher walked into the enclosure after one of his wonderings and returned with a small herd of Unicorns.
While surprised Harry waited till Dasher told him the full story before questioning him. As it turns out this particular herd was in need of help. They had been attacked by wandering members of the cluster of Acromantula.
Originally it had been up to the Centaurs to keep the giant spiders at bay but they had been so busy recently with keeping the Acromantula off their own territory to notice that the spiders were sneaking off into other parts of the forest.
Learning that there was a large population of giant venomous spiders inside the forbidden forest made Harry question if the staff at the school were aware of the danger.
Today Harry had taken those that were best against bugs and poison attacks before going himself with them. The only reason the other three didn't go with him was because in all their training they didn't have spells or aura abilities that could help in the fight.
Hermione didn't like the idea of being a liability and agreed to remain behind with the others. "Is it over?" She asked once he was settled on the ground accepting a cup of tea from her.
"Yes. Dasher and Blaze made sure to check the area for any egg sacks before we left. Unless someone has one of their eggs there won't be any more Acromantula here." Harry said to her as he drank his tea. "Although that does bring up the question of how they came here in the first place?" He questioned aloud, making Hermione shrug.
"What of the Centaurs? Do they know?" She asked, making him pause before he sighed.
"If they do…they aren't telling me. Bane seems to find it insulting that a 'two legs' decided to interfere in their lives and habitat." Harry answered, making her look at him in confusion.
"Shouldn't he be thankful that someone helped them destroy a danger to their heard?" She asked him, making Harry sigh.
"I have a feeling that his reaction is part of an old hate. According to the myths I've read the Centaurs aren't painted in a nice light and seen as more beast than man…then again they were all written from the perspective of a human." He said, making her nod.
She knew well that magical UK wasn't exactly non-human friendly no matter whom they were dealing with.
"If I were to guess he knows exactly who is responsible for the Acromantula but won't tell me if he doesn't have too. Although it did look like the one named Firenze would've answered if he hadn't been 'outvoted' so to speak." Harry added after a moment.
After a comfortable silence the pair looked up when Ronin landed beside them. "The Lioness approaches with the old man." He projected Harry.
Harry waited knowing something was bothering Ronin to make him leave his post. "The old man smells of treachery and lies." The steel/bug type finished making Harry raise an eyebrow.
"Lies and treachery? That can't be good." He said aloud, making Hermione blink. True she and the others were getting lessons in aura use but they weren't far enough yet to fully understand Pokémon speech.
"It seems it's time to put our plan in action." Harry said, making Ronin nod before he moved off, already having an idea of what his trainer had in mind.
"Honestly Albus you take your life in your hand if you insist on going this route." Minerva McGonagall reminded the headmaster as they approached the enclosure of the Pokémon Regions.
"Nevertheless, the task is in less than forty-eight hours and all, but Mr. Potter's part is secure."
"Lord." McGonagall reminded him, making the man's lips twitch in displeasure.
The pair continued walking before they both jumped slightly at the sound of metal against metal reaching the air. The pair looked to see the Lord himself sitting running a wet stone against his blade.
Nearby Ronin sat running his claws against a stone being held by the intimidating Romeo. By the water Mystic had her head above the water eating some unknown creature while Hedwig was dipping blood-soaked talons into the lake.
Final Digger was nearby biting into a large carcass blood dripping down his face as he chewed.
"Still think this is a good idea?" Minerva asked, her voice shaky from the image before her.
Funny enough the man with the sword was the least intimidating thing before her yet she was most afraid of him.
"Professor McGonagall how nice of you to join us…and I see you've brought the headmaster this time around." Harry's voice made Minerva blink as she looked up to see him still sharpening his blade.
"I'm afraid you've caught us in the middle of dinner time." Harry added after a second motioning towards the plate of bloody meat on the rock with him.
"So, I noticed. I apologize Lord Black, but the headmaster insisted on talking with you about the second task." Minerva said moving aside not wanting to be associated with this conversation.
Dumbledore took a moment to compose himself as he spoke. "Mr. Potter…"
"Lord." Both Harry and McGonagall corrected, making the man twitch once more before he continued.
"…as you know the second task requires a treasure of great importance for each of the champions. I have come here…"
"Hopefully explain to me that the treasure is an inanimate object that never had a pulse instead of a human or animal that is greatly connected to each Champion." Harry said, making Dumbledore blink while Minerva went bug eyed.
"Albus…tell me you didn't…?!" The elder looked at his subordinate.
"Oh, the song was very clear. An hour long to look for that which will be missed most before it is forever taken. Funny that it never specifies the object that will be missed most." Harry said, making the lioness in question glare at her boss.
"The ones involved would never be in any real danger. The Merpeople of the lake would simply guard them while under an enchantment that renders them asleep and unable to drown."
"And what would happen should the enchantment fail for some unknown reason? Or better yet when the Merpeople realize one of their hostages are a being of 'fire and wind'?" Albus blinked at that as Harry tilted his head making it appear as if he was looking down at the old man.
"Don't think I didn't notice the family members of Miss. Delacour and Mr. Krum arrived earlier this week. You plan to use one of them for the pair since they have no connection to others here.
Diggory you can simply use Change for. Which means you came here expecting to gather a volunteer or to demand one of the students living here in my enclosure to become a hostage." Harry said, stressing the 'my' in his sentence.
"As my students I still…" Albus started only to be interrupted.
"Have no power over their rights and choices." Minerva couldn't help but notice the glare that appeared on the faces of both men as they stared each other down.
"Nevertheless, you will bring them before me. I still have that authority at least."
"Are you sure about that?" Albus blinked at that question before Harry smirked at him motioning towards the body Digger was eating.
Both Albus and Minerva flinched when they saw that it was the body of an Acromantula. Minerva was in complete shock at the sight of such a creature while Albus was surprised only by the fact one of the larger spiders was now dead.
"It's rather interesting that I've now found two forbidden monsters on the campus of this school, and both times the headmaster was completely aware of them."
Minerva looked up at Harry before turning her expression of disbelief to the headmaster. "Albus?" She questioned her voice conveying the betrayal she had begun to feel.
"I was assured they meant no harm to any living being that did not encroach on their territory. Since we've had no attacks against any student or teacher from in the fifty-two years they've been here I have been inclined to agree with that assessment."
"At the cost of the lives of the unicorns and centaurs of the forest?" Harry asked, making the man growl slightly at the questioning of his authority once again.
"If it wasn't for Dasher bringing a herd of unicorns to me no one would've known the danger they and the centaurs have been under recently." Harry added making Minerva gain a small, confused look.
"Then why hasn't Hagrid reported such a danger?"
"Who says he didn't?" Harry asked Minerva to look back at him before she took out her wand.
"Expecto Patronum!" She called making the image of a silver cat appear before her. "Hagrid, you are needed at the Pokémon enclosure immediately!" She called before the cat turned into a ball of light and faded away from view.
"Minerva that…" Dumbledore started only to get a full glare directed towards her.
"Shut it!" She growled, making the man blink/flinch back in surprise.
"As it stands right now Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore you are dangerously close to criminal intent and harm. If Hagrid tells me that he did in fact warn you of the dangers to the lives both in and out of that forest…you had better hope Madame Bones gets to you first." She turned towards Harry.
"I assume of course that she's on her way here already?" She asked Harry to nod once. "Her along with a few others…I also believe we'll have a few uninvited guests as well." He added, making her nod after a moment of thought.
A moment later the half-giant lumbered up with his crossbow in hand, his quiver bouncing against his thigh. "I received your message, Professor , what's the danger?!" Hagrid asked, making Harry smirk slightly.
"I believe she wants to know if you are not only aware of these being in the forest…" Harry motioned to the Acromantula body Digger was still eating from. "…and the danger they were bringing to their lives both in and out of the forest?"
He completed his question, making Hagrid pause at the sight.
"Yes…yes I knew they were in the forest." Hagrid said with hesitation in his voice.
"I…I brought their progenitor Aragog here the year I was expelled. In fact, he was the creature that many believed was the one attacking students during the first opening of the Chamber of Secrets." He explained making Harry and McGonagall look at the gentle giant in great surprise.
"But…!" He exclaimed before the two could speak. "…I have been helping the centaurs keep their population down to a manageable level, so they do not present a danger." He quickly explained.
"And what about recently when the population has seemed to boom?" Harry asked.
"That started two years ago when I was…" Hagrid hesitated there, making Minerva take over.
"When the Chamber of Secrets opened a second time the minister…in his infinite wisdom…arrested Hagrid and sent him to Azkaban prison without a full trial just to make it appear as if the ministry was doing something against this threat." Minerva said to Harry who nodded.
"What's this I hear!" A voice called out making everyone look to see Madame Bones approaching with two familiar aurors while being trailed by a waddling Umbridge as well as Fudge.
"Are you telling me that you never once received a trial before you were locked away Hagrid?" Madame Bones asked, making Hagrid shake his head.
"No. The Minister took me directly from my home to the island where Azkaban stands when he came here with Lucius Malfoy."
"Malfoy?!" Madame Bones demanded turning on her boss.
"Lucius at the time was a member of the School Governors. He had every right to be here with me during a removal of a member of staff." Fudge defended making Madame Bone marrow her eyes towards him.
"So not only was a man denied his basic rights, but the headmaster has also knowingly placed more lives in danger?"
A new voice asked making everyone turn to see Andromeda Tonks wearing her business suit like robes followed by a young woman with bright brown almost blond long hair holding a notepad that was being jotted in, and a ginger haired photographer who was snapping photos of the Acromantula body.
"Andromeda I'm honestly surprised to see you here." Minerva said, making Andromeda smile.
"Lord Black…as owner of the Daily Prophet…has a way of contacting me directly should anything happen he feels is newsworthy. Two stories in one go counts.
Now you were explaining just why this man was denied his basic rights to a trial of his peers, Minister?" Andromeda asked, making Fudge gulp.
Ever since the Daily Prophet had changed ownership Fudge along with many members of the Ministry had been very hesitant to get into the paper.
"The Minister does not…" Umbridge started only for Harry to interrupt.
"Actually, he must. Because this is the second time such a chase has appeared." Harry said, making everyone turn to him in confusion.
"After all, Sirius Black never received a trial either." Harry explained as Hermione approached holding a thin file.
"Thank you my love." Harry said, making Hermione blush slightly but nod as she moved off, joined by Neville and Tonks who had also approached.
Dumbledore turned wide eyed at the mention of the criminal in question.
"Beg pardon?" Amelia and Andromeda asked as one while the photographer was capturing images without hesitation.
Harry rose to his feet sheathing his blade as he approached and handed the file in question to Amelia. "The criminal file of Sirius Black. You'll find a lack of information including a lack of an arrest record, and even a lack of trial notes.
Only an order of conviction by Bartemius 'Barty' Crouch Sr. head of the DMLE, Albus Dumbledore Supreme Mugwump, and Millicent Bagnold Minister of Magic. Witnessed by Cornelius Fudge Under Secretary to the Minister. The same is found in this file." Harry said, handing a second file.
"Rubeus Hagrid. Again, no arrest order/warrant, no trial record, and once again an order of conviction. Only this time it's signed by Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, Lucius Malfoy, head of the School Governors, and Dolores Umbridge, Under Secretary to the Minister. Witnessed by Josh Dawlish Senor Auror." Harry leaned slightly making everyone turn to see a man standing by the Minister wearing the red robes of an auror.
"One of the members of the Minister's personal protection detail." Harry added.
"I can't but help but notice that both cases involve the Minister in some way shape or form." The reporter mentioned making Harry nod.
"This on top of Dumbledore's complete lack of care for the lives of his students and guests is going to make quite the number of waves." Harry added, making the reporter nod as she continued to write in her pad.
"Absolutely not!" Umbridge yelled, taking out her wand, moving to point it at the younger woman only to pause when the wands of Minerva, Andromeda, Amelia, Shacklebolt, the unknown auror, and the teenagers pointed at her.
"I wouldn't if I were you. You are already in trouble as well, Toad." Harry reminded her, making the woman in question glare at him but lower her wand as Shacklebolt approached and disarmed her.
"Dawlish and Fudge too Shack." Amelia said, making the tall African man nod in understanding. Fudge sputtered in protest but didn't get anything out before he was disarmed as well.
"Headmaster…" Shacklebolt said as he approached making Dumbledore raise an eyebrow towards him.
"I highly doubt this is necessary Kingsley." He said, making Amelia snort.
"Don't make this harder than it has to be Dumbledore. You're already facing criminal neglect and child endangerment, don't add resisting arrest as well."
Albus glared before trying to move quickly only to twist in surprise when his wand flew from his robes and into Harry's outstretched hand. The moment the knotted piece of wood hit his palm Harry was shocked when sparks flew from the tip in blues and blacks.
Dumbledore looked in shock as well. "What have you done?" He gasped out in surprise.
"Aided an ally…while simultaneously returning something that belongs to me and my family.
This is the wand of Antioch Peverell, my ancestor's eldest brother before his death, and one of the three missing historical objects of the Peverells that still exist." Harry explained as he looked at the wand.
"Fawkes!" Dumbledore called out making everyone look at him before a poof of flame appeared, but instead of before Dumbledore the phoenix in question appeared on Minerva's shoulder.
"I think your familiar has abandoned you headmaster." Harry said, making Dumbledore slump slightly before Shacklebolt approached once more, this time slapping magical suppression cuffs on the elderly man.
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…born to those who have thrice defied him. Born as the seventh month dies…and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not…and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives…the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies."
The deepened voice of Sybill Trelawney faded as the memory disappeared into the orb that was now in Harry's hand.
"So…this is why the old man is so concerned with my life?" Harry asked aloud as Amelia, Andromeda, Minerva, and Sharpblade sat around a round table while the other teens sat in chairs behind him.
"Can't believe that old drunk actually made an honest to god's prophecy. With the number of times, she has predicted the death of a student only to turn up wrong you'd think she was a complete fraud." Minerva grumbled.
The group were currently in a closed off conference room located in Gringotts.
A couple of hours ago they had locked Dumbledore, Dawlish, Fudge, and Umbridge in cells located under the ministry.
Hagrid wouldn't face any criminal charges. While he did introduce a dangerous invasive species to the Forbidden Forest, he had also done everything right in terms of keeping it from causing harm to any living being.
Even going so far as to tell Dumbledore that they needed to hire hunters to help get the population under control once more. Not to mention the fact he was a victim in this situation as well.
"This would also explain the leech we found in your scar Lord Black. Riddle left it there the night he killed your family and tried to kill you." Sharpblade said, making Harry nod.
"We're going to have to completely destroy both Dumbledore and Riddle…before any one not innocent goes on trial." Harry said, looking towards Andromeda.
"I can handle destroying their reputations with the truth. With a little help from the goblins providing evidence, we can make it stick."
"My team and I will handle the criminal aspect of this. Lord Black already put us on the right path and where we'll need to look. The only question is…where do we start?" Amelia asked.
Harry took a moment before blinking with a smirk appearing on his face.
"Sirius Black Innocent!" In Diagon Alley one of the paper sellers for the Prophet shouted holding the paper in the air.
"Lord Black discovers coverup landing an innocent man in Azkaban!" He added as people approached.
A man looking at the paper started to read aloud. "While looking at the formally sealed wills of the late Lord and Lady Potter it was discovered that Sirius Black was named Godfather of the Boy-Who-Lived by right of…the Godfather ritual?!" He called out in shock.
In a large manor home, a blond-haired woman with black roots also read the paper. "For those that don't remember, the Godfather ritual is part of a magical ritual that renders those chosen as the Godparents of a child unable to cause any harm to the child.
Including their family or those they consider family. Since Black was alive after supposably killing Peter Pettigrew this means…the story has been told wrong all these years." Narcissa Malfoy looked up before she felt a shiver up her spine.
True she knew Sirius hadn't been capable of betraying the Potters, but she had thought his trial had brought something up to prove his guilt for Pettigrew at least.
"Not only was it Pettigrew that was guilty, but Black never even received a trial to prove his innocence!" The outraged voice of Tom from within the Leaky Cauldron called out as he read the story to his patrons who hadn't been able to pick up the paper.
"In a moment of true kangaroo court justice, the former head of the DMLE Crouch Sr, former Minister Bagnold, and former Supreme Mugwump Dumbledore signed an order of conviction without seeing a trial through to the end. The order was witness by current Minister Fudge who at the time was the Under Secretary to the Minister." He read in anger, shaking his head.
Elsewhere others were reading the secondary byline. "Dumbledore arrested!" The red-haired matriarch of the Weasley family shouted in anger after hearing her husband reading.
"This is but one recent case of child endangerment involving the decisions of the former headmaster. An entire legion of Arcomantula located in the forest on the grounds without taking all the precautions minus making one member of his staff responsible for population control.
Not to mention the order of silence on the death of Ginny Weasley two years previous." Arthur Weasley felt his fingers clench at the mention of his little girl. He had been devastated at the death of the baby of his children, but he had trusted Dumbledore when he said he would discover the truth behind her death.
Now it turns out the former headmaster never intended to do anything beyond keeping it all quiet.
"It's official…you are going to bring the world down around you. If only to force the sheep of this world into acting like humans." Tonks said as she looked over her personal copy of the Evening Prophet that had been released in a hurry thanks to the combined efforts of Andromeda Tonks, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen, the newspaper trio that had come by earlier this afternoon.
Lane's article and Olsen's photos were destroying by both Fudge and Dumbledore, including a few photos of the Arcomantula body.
Tomorrow the plan was to release an article explaining the past of Tom Riddle AKA Lord Voldemort. With the arrest of Dumbledore Minerva had been temporarily named headmistress until the next school year since it was too late in the year to find a replacement.
She also took his place on the planning of the Triwizard Tournament which she swore to fix within the forty-eight hours before the second task.
"Considering the plan that old goat had for me, Neville, or Susan Bones I think I'm showing quite the restraint against him." Harry commented while he sat with Kali in his lap scratching her behind the ear while she seemed to nap on his chest.
Hermione against his shoulder while she also scratched Amphitrite behind her long ears.
Neville was nearby punching at a bag being held by Champ while wearing a pair of boxing gloves with Scrapper nearby. Neville hadn't taken the information that his family had been attacked because of a drunk fortune teller that had almost marked him for death as a baby well.
If anything the listening of the Prophecy had lit a fire in Neville and Amelia combined. With the population of Magical UK being the size it is there were only three children born as the seventh month dies.
Neville was born on the thirtieth, Harry on the thirty-first, and Susan Bones born on midnight August first.
Amelia now understood why her brother Edgar and sister in-law Angela had been attacked leaving Susan an orphan. Neville now had a reason behind why Bellatrix Lestrange and her group had attacked his family. Both were now eager to get full justice for everything that had happened to their families.
"This also means it was a servant of Riddle that entered you into this tournament. That or Dumbledore himself did." Tonks said as Vixen hopped onto her lap looking for scratches as well.
"No, Dumbledore was truly shocked when I arrived here. He didn't call me here." Harry said after a moment of thought.
"Question then becomes…which of the former Death Eaters called you back?" Hermione asked, making Harry sigh.
"Snape, and Karkaroff were both former members." Harry said, making Neville pause.
"But neither would be welcome among their past fellows." He said, panting slightly. "Snape was protected from conviction by Dumbledore claiming him as an informant. Karkaroff was given time off his sentence by naming names of Death Eaters that had infiltrated the Ministry."
He said before kneeling when Scrapper approached him with a water bottle and squirted the liquid into his mouth before allowing the cool water to cover his face to help cool off.
"Thanks kid." He said after a moment making the Scuffle Pokémon nod in understanding.
He bit into the glove on his right hand before pulling the Velcro so he could pull it off. "So…our mystery saboteur strikes again?" Tonks asked, making Harry nod.
"The question becomes…how are they hiding the taint from the Dark Mark from my aura sense?"
"The potion." Hermione said after a moment, making everyone's eyes turn towards her. "The entire purpose of the Polyjuice Potion is to completely change a being's body inside and out into that of another person. The magic behind it would cover a weakened taint that comes from the Dark Mark."
"Allowing our saboteur to remain hidden." Harry cursed internally.
"The boy is more cunning than I gave him credit for." The high tone voice of Voldemort said as he listened to the voice of his spy give his report.
Pettigrew was shaking after he had finished. He knew his master would be happy at the news of Dumbledore being arrested but hadn't known how he would take the news that his disguise was now completely ruined.
"It seems the prophecy was correct in that aspect at least. He is truly a match for me mentally."
"Should we be worried about Black being released from Azkaban?" The voice of Crouch Jr. asked from the green flames of the fireplace.
"No. Sirius Black was never more of a threat than that of the average Auror. The man is pure Gryffindor and has spent over a decade under the care of the Dementors. At most all he could do send sparks at us from a borrowed wand." Voldemort said.
"What of Wormtail? Black will no doubt expose his Animagus form." Crouch asked making Pettigrew flinch.
"That was always a possibility and never more than a threat as long as Fudge was in office. I'm almost impressed that Potter was able to not only get Dumbledore displaced but has now removed the Minister.
Not to mention giving the DMLE all they needed to remove all of Fudges' powerbase. Irritating true, but no less impressive." Voldemort said, sounding impressed.
"My Lord…forgive me but I can't help but notice a lack of rage against the boy." Crouch mentioned making Voldemort smirk.
"They say that the measure of a man is measured by his enemies. If Potter can do all of this inside of a year…it just goes to show the boy was always meant to give me a run for his money.
It will make my ultimate victory over him even more impressive and remind the masses just why they fear Lord Voldemort." The small body smiled a smile of pure evil as he watched the green flames a part of him couldn't help but imagine the future he could see.
Not knowing that his enemy was nowhere near done with him.
That's all for now I hope you all R&R Ja Ne
