Chapter 29: Field of Battle
Dylan Riley, Nami, Aqua, Ristarte, and Nefertari Vivi were staring at the girl on the roof of a single storey abandoned house, the same girl who was under control by a card. They see a red "94" glowing on her left thigh and then it disappears soon after.
"Uh Dylan, who is this girl?" Nami asked Dylan.
Dylan then taps the right temple on his glasses as it starts to scan the girl. After five seconds, the scan was complete and it turns off.
"Who is it?" Aqua asked Dylan.
"Her name is Beth Vanderwood," Dylan said.
"Isn't that the girl that competed on that Total Drama show you love so much," Ristarte said to Dylan.
"Different Beth," Dylan said.
"That's correct, I am Beth Vanderwood," the woman known as Beth Vanderwood said to the group as she hops off the roof and lands on the ground.
"And I'm the most magical farm girl in all of Fiore," Beth said.
"Fiore," Dylan thought and then he realize what they're dealing with.
"Girls, prepare yourselves," Dylan said to the girls in a serious tone.
Aqua and Ristarte get into a fighting stance, Nami holds two pieces of her Clima-Tact in her hands, and Vivi pulls out her peacock slashers.
"Dylan, what's the plan?" Vivi asked Dylan.
"I don't know what to do, I'm freaking the fuck out," Dylan thought as he trying to remain calm on the outside.
After a minute of thinking, Dylan had an idea in mind.
"Vivi, rush Beth with your peacock slashers, we need to take her out as quick as we can," Dylan said to Vivi.
"Got it," Vivi said and then she swings her slashers.
Vivi then runs over to Beth and was ready to take her out with her peacock slashers.
"Eat peacock slashers farm girl," Vivi said to Beth as she swings her slashers at the farm girl.
Vivi then could feel that her peacock slashers hit something. When she gets a closer look at what she hit, it wasn't Beth, instead it was a pumpkin twice the height of Vivi.
"Is that a pumpkin?" Nami asked in shock as the peacock slashers were stuck in the pumpkin.
Beth then pushes the pumpkin forward and it smashes into Vivi. The pumpkin smashes into dozens of pieces as it knocks Vivi onto the ground and sending pumpkin seeds and guts flying everywhere.
"Oh shit," Aqua said in shock.
"Vivi, are you okay?" Dylan asked Vivi as her peacock slashers were knocked out of her hands.
"I'm good," Vivi said as she gets onto her feet.
"That's the power of Vegetable Magic, I can able to summon fruits and vegetables to my liking," Beth said.
"If it's called Vegetable Magic, then why can you summon fruits as well?" Nami asked Beth.
"Don't ever question my magic," Beth said angrily to Nami.
"For that, you'll get it," Beth said to Nami angrily and then she sprouts out a regular pineapple.
"Eat pineapple," Beth said to Nami as she throws it towards Nami.
Nami then ducks the pineapple and it hits Aqua in the face. The fruit breaks apart as Aqua was left with a pineapple size bruise to her face.
"Damn it Aqua, why didn't you duck?" Nami asked Aqua angrily.
"I thought it wouldn't hurt that bad," Aqua said.
"God, you are so fucking useless," Nami thought.
Beth then summons this large pod of green beans as she had got an idea. She then steps on the pod and then several large green beans launch toward Dylan and the girls.
"Get down," Dylan said to the girls as they duck down.
Soon, the beans fly past them as they land in a field across the road.
"Okay, time to get serious," Dylan said as he knew he needed to act fast.
"Rista, time to fly," Dylan said to Ristarte.
"Got it Dylan," Ristarte said to Dylan as she gets onto her feet.
Ristarte then summons her wings and flies fifty feet up into the air. She then flies around, hoping to find the perfect time to strike Beth.
"Oh your flying skills are no match for me," Beth said to Ristarte as she sprouts out a whole bunch of regular size apples.
"Fire," Beth said as she fires the apples up towards Ristarte.
Ristarte sees the apples coming her way as she dodges them. It was going good until two apples hit Ristarte's left wing and cause some significant damage to it.
"Oh crap, I'm going down," Ristarte said as she was starting to fall back to the ground.
Ristarte ends up falling onto the roof of the barn, breaking into the barn and falling inside of it.
"Oh shit," Nami said in shock.
"Rista, are you hurt?" Dylan asked Ristarte.
"I'm a little beat up, but I don't think I broke anything," Ristarte said from inside the barn.
"Oh god, a rat," Ristarte said in horror as a rat scurries out of the barn.
Beth then sprouts out a whole bunch of heads of lettuce as she looks over to the group. She then pushes her hands forward as the lettuce was heading towards Nami.
Using pieces of her Clima-Tact, Nami spins around as the lettuce deflects off of them, but were shooting over to Dylan, Aqua, and Vivi. The three duck down as the lettuce flies past them and lands in a field.
"Really Nami?" Dylan asked Nami angrily as he, Aqua, and Vivi get on their feet.
"I thought we were friends," Vivi said to Nami.
"Sorry, I thought they would go back at Beth," Nami said to Dylan, Aqua, and Vivi.
"Oh you want to play hardball, well you got it," Beth said to Nami as she summon a little over a hundred potatoes from the ground.
"Here we go, Potato Hailstorm," Beth said as the potatoes fly up into the air with incredible speed.
About a thousand feet into the air, the potatoes start to come down as Dylan's group were going to meet their ends thanks to a bunch of spuds.
Dylan looks up to see the clouds were dark, apparently during the lettuce attack, red and cold bubbles came out of Nami's Clima-Tact and storm clouds were formed.
"Nami quickly, put your Clima-Tact together," Dylan said to Nami as Nami manages to put together her Clima-Tact.
"What do you want me to do?" Nami asked Dylan.
"Use it and send down a barrage of thunderbolts to take out the potatoes," Dylan said to Nami.
"Like a wall of thunderbolts?" Nami asked Dylan.
"Yes," Dylan said.
Soon, they see the potatoes coming down at them like a bullet as it was now or never.
"Nami, do it," Dylan said to Nami and then Nami points her Clima-Tact to the clouds.
"Thunderbolt Wall Tempo," Nami said and then a line of thunderbolts coming striking down in front of them.
The thunderbolts hits all of the potatoes and cooks them to the perfection. The potatoes fall to the ground, except for one which was caught in Dylan's hands.
"Ooh, lunch," Dylan said as Nami could see what Dylan was about to do.
"Dylan, you can't be serious about eating now," Nami said angrily to Dylan.
"Hey I'm hungry, give me a break," Dylan said to Nami.
Dylan then takes a bite of the baked potato and he could taste something horrible. Dylan then spits out the chewed up piece of potato and was angry.
"This tastes like pure grade A horseshit," Dylan said angrily and then he throws the potato into the field.
"Anyway, nice work Nami," Dylan said to Nami.
"Thanks," Nami said to Dylan and then she gets hit in the head by a coconut that was going over eighty kilometers an hour.
The force sends Nami skidding fifteen feet in length and knocking the Clima-Tact out of her hands.
"Nami," Dylan said in horror to Nami as Nami was down on the ground.
Nami then gets back to her feet as blood was dripping down the right side of her face.
"Okay farm girl, get ready to meet your maker at the hands of the burglar," Nami said to Beth in a serious tone.
Nami then rushes over to Beth as she hopes her fists or feet can knock out the farm girl from Fiore. Once she was a few inches from Beth, Nami swings her right fist towards Beth's face.
But before she could strike, Nami could feel something squirting into her open head wound. Nami then looks to see Beth holding two lemons that she squeezed right into her wound.
"Gah, my head, ow it burns," Nami said as she could feel the lemon juice burning in her wound.
"Oh lemon juice, that's going to sting any cut," Dylan said as Nami gets down onto one knee and holding her head in pain.
Beth then drops the lemons and then she pulls out a carrot from her overalls. She then looks down at Nami's feet as she got a sickening idea.
"Here, have a carrot," Beth said to Nami.
Then, Beth slams the carrot down and it impales through Nami's right foot.
"GAHHH," Nami screams in pain from having a carrot impaled in her foot as Dylan watches on.
"Back off," Beth said to Nami and then she nails a kick to Nami's ribs.
The force sends Nami skidding along the ground about twenty feet away from Beth.
"Nami," Dylan said in horror to Nami as he races over to her.
But before he could reach Nami, Dylan gets hit by something and is sent flying into the silo. He is then pinned to the silo as he couldn't move an inch.
"What happened?" Dylan asked and then he sees that his shirt was caught by two cobs of corn.
"Oh this is humiliating," Dylan said as Beth was the one who threw it at him.
"I'm not going to let you get your girl," Beth said to Dylan as she sprouts out two more cobs of corn.
Beth then launches the corn over at the silo and hits it, but missing Dylan by a foot.
"You missed," Dylan said to Beth.
Then, grain start to spill out of the silo and pours onto Dylan's head. Dylan then starts to yawn a bit as he was trying to stay awake.
"Aww feel tired, maybe you should give up," Beth said to Dylan.
"No way, we are going to get that card out of you," Dylan said to Beth and then he gives out another yawn.
Nami then gets on her feet as blood start to leak out of the wound from her foot. She and Vivi then look over to see Dylan had fallen asleep.
"Are you fucking kidding me," Nami and Vivi said angrily over Dylan sleeping during a fight.
Dylan then opens his eyes as he was trying to stay awake for the fight.
"Don't sleep at this moment," Nami said to Dylan.
"Yeah, we need you alert," Vivi said to Dylan.
"Alright, Vivi take her out," Dylan said to Vivi.
"I can't without my slashers," Vivi said.
"You are a princess, you faced worst than this, do it for all of us," Dylan said to Vivi.
"Alright, I'll do it," Vivi said.
Vivi then rushes over to Beth as Beth knew that she would do something like that.
"Oh princess, you fell right into my trap," Beth said and then she summons several carrots out from the ground.
"Carrot Missile," Beth said and then she shoots the carrots towards Vivi.
Vivi was desperately dodging the carrots and then she felt a sharp pain in both of her legs.
"AHHH," Vivi screamed as she falls down onto the ground in pain.
Vivi then looks down to see two carrots stuck in her knees, blood was leaking out from both of them as she was in tremendous amounts of pain.
"My knees, I can't move," Vivi said in pain as Beth walks over to Vivi with carrot in hand.
Once Beth approached Vivi, she raises the carrot in the air, ready to kill the princess of Alabasta.
"Hey, leave her alone," Dylan demanded Beth.
"Stay out of this motherfucker," Beth said to Dylan.
Beth then throws the carrot towards Dylan and it impales him in his left palm.
"Oh god damn," Dylan said in pain over a carrot going through his body.
"Oh god this is worst pain ever, worst than getting a broken bone," Dylan said as blood was tricking down his left hand and forearm.
Beth then walks over to Dylan and then she stands six inches away from him.
"Well big boy, it seems you and your gang of rejects lost," Beth said to Dylan.
"They aren't my rejects, they are my friends, the greatest friends I ever have," Dylan said in an angry tone.
"Oh how sappy, but that's not going to help you," Beth said to Dylan.
Beth then sprouts out a carrot the size of a baseball bat and to make things worst, the tip was as sharp as a sword.
"This carrot will destroy your organs faster than a meat grinder does to a pig," Beth said to Dylan.
Beth was about to impale Dylan with the carrot until she gets taken down, which surprises Dylan.
"What the hell?" Dylan asked in shock as Beth gets on her feet.
"Who did that?" Beth asked in anger.
Beth turns around to see Aqua, holding a small water ball in her left hand.
"Like my spitball," Aqua said to Beth.
"Aqua, you amazing (yet somewhat useless) goddess," Dylan said to Aqua.
"Spitball?" Beth asked.
Aqua then drools onto the ball as it gets bigger.
"That was saliva, that's fucking gross," Beth said in disgust.
"You're a farm girl, you probably dealt with grosser stuff than that," Dylan said to Beth.
"Take this, Spitball Strike," Aqua said to Beth as she throws the spitball towards Beth.
Beth then dodges the spitball and it strikes through the barn, leaving a big gaping hole in it.
"Dammit Aqua, Rista is still here," Dylan said angrily to Aqua.
"I'm sorry, you trying being a useless goddess," Aqua said to Dylan.
Then, Ristarte stumbles out of the barn, brushing the hay off her dress as blood was dripping down the left and right side of her face.
"That was not a good landing," Ristarte said as she sees Beth approaching Aqua.
"I got to help Aqua," Ristarte said quietly as she sees the peacock slashers on the ground.
"Maybe these will work," Ristarte thought.
Beth then swings the carrot and strikes Aqua in her left cheek with it. The force sends Aqua skidding across the ground and landing thirty feet away.
"Oh shit Aqua," Dylan said in horror to Aqua.
Aqua then rolls onto her back as she was left with a three inch gash on her left cheek. Beth then stands on top of Aqua as she was looking to finish off the useless water goddess.
"See you in hell," Beth said to Aqua as she raises the carrot in the air.
But before she could strike, Beth could feel a sharp sting in her right hand.
"Ah," Beth said in pain as she drops the carrot.
Beth looks at her right hand as she sees a two inch long gash across the top of it.
"What the?" Beth asked in shock.
"AHHH," Beth screamed in pain as she could feel something slicing up her back.
Beth stumbles off of Aqua as she had a foot long gash running down her back. She then turns around to see Ristarte holding up the peacock slashers.
"Oh my god Rista," Dylan said in shock to Ristarte.
"Yay Rista," Nami cheered.
"And you got my peacock slashers," Vivi said to Ristarte.
"Sorry for taking them princess, but I need them to take down Beth," Ristarte said to Vivi.
"I'm not afraid of another goddess, do your fucking worst," Beth said to Ristarte.
Ristarte then swings the peacock slashers as Beth was trying to dodge them. Unfortunately, Beth ends up getting sliced on her stomach, left thigh, and the upper part of her left arm.
During the swings, Ristarte ends up slicing up the ground, the grass, and nearly the house.
"Rista, be careful," Dylan said to Ristarte.
"Dylan I know," Ristarte said to Dylan.
Beth sees an opportunity as she grabs the strings of the slashers and wraps them around Ristarte. She them slams Ristarte to the ground and then she let go of them.
"Ha, too bad goddess," Beth said to Ristarte as Ristarte moves the strings off her body.
Ristarte then swings the slashers at Beth, but Beth jumps out of the way.
When Beth lands on her feet, Nami points her Clima-Tact towards Beth's stomach (lucky Ristarte manage to kick the Clima-Tact to her before getting the slashers).
"Uhh, can we talk about this?" Beth asked Nami in a slightly scared tone.
"Fat chance," Nami said with a smile on her face as a bubble forms from the tip of it.
"Gust Sword," Nami said and then she shoots out a gust of air right onto Beth.
The force sends Beth straight into the house and it was with enough force that the house ends up collapsing on top of her.
"Holy shit," Aqua said in shock as she stands on her feet, watching the house collapse.
"I did it, I did it," Nami said as she was happy to defeat one of the possessed girls.
"Way to go Nami," Dylan said to Nami as he was excited to see Nami defeat Beth.
Dylan then grabs the carrot and yanks it out of his hand, which was a bad idea.
"Oh fuck that was horrible," Dylan said in pain as he throws the carrot onto the ground.
Dylan then yanks the cobs of corn out and throws it onto the ground as well. He then rushes over to Nami to check on her.
"Nami, are you okay?" Dylan asked Nami.
"I'm fine, check on Vivi," Nami said to Dylan and then Dylan rushes over to Vivi.
"Vivi, you look horrible," Dylan said to Vivi as he sees the carrots in her knees and the blood along her legs.
"Speak for yourself," Vivi said to Dylan as Dylan looks at the hole in his left hand.
"Touché," Dylan said to Vivi.
Dylan then wraps Vivi's right arm around his neck and helps her to her feet. Then, they walk over to the collapsed house.
"That was horrible," Vivi said.
"You're not used to fighting, I understand that," Dylan said to Vivi.
Soon, they approach the house and then Nami, Aqua, and Ristarte get on their feet and join the pair.
"Vivi, I'm going to set you down while we find Beth," Dylan said to Vivi as he gently sits Vivi down on the grass.
"Hey Vivi, here's your peacock slashers back," Ristarte said to Vivi as she hands her back the peacock slashers.
"Thanks," Vivi said to Ristarte.
Then, Dylan, Nami, Aqua, and Ristarte walk up the stairs and then they chuck pieces of the house away, hoping to find Beth alright.
After five minutes, Aqua pulls off some pieces and could see a leg.
"I found her," Aqua said.
"Way to go Aqua," Dylan said to Aqua as they all toss the pieces away in that one spot.
After a few minutes, the debris was all cleared and they look at Beth. Beth was unconscious, blood leaking out from her open wounds, there was some slight tears on her shirt and overalls, and there was blood leaking from her forehead.
"Okay Dylan, get the card out of her before she wakes up," Nami said to Dylan.
"Alright," Dylan said as he puts his right hand near Beth's chest.
Then, Dylan's right hand starts to glow as Beth was flinching a little. Soon the number disappears off of Beth's body and then a card floats out of Beth. Dylan then grabs onto the card as his hand stops glowing and then he looks at the card, which was almost on par with Vivi.
"Beth Vanderwood, stars: four, special ability: Vegetable Magic, daily income: $90 per day," Dylan said as he read what was on the card.
Dylan then puts the card in his pocket as they look at an unconscious Beth.
"Dylan, looks like you are going to have to carry her," Nami said to Dylan.
"Of course," Dylan said as he was used to this.
"What about Vivi?" Dylan asked Nami.
"I'll carry her," Nami said.
"But your injured," Dylan said to Nami.
"It's fine," Nami said.
Dylan then picks up Beth and carries her like a bride. While Nami steps down from the house and carries Vivi on her back.
Soon, the group walk back to the car as Dylan had a thought on his mind.
"Hey, do you think the vegetables will disappear in a few hours?" Dylan asked the girls.
"Who knows," Aqua said as they continue to walk.
Two hours later at the motel they were standing at, Beth slowly opens her eyes as her irises change back from red to blue.
"Holy all things vegetable, that hurt," Beth said as sits up.
Beth looks down to see the bandages wrapped around her forehead, on her left upper arm, on her right hand, and on her left thigh.
"Why do I look like I was in a fight?" Beth asked herself.
"That's because you were," Nami said to Beth.
Beth looks to her right to see Nami (who had bandage on the right side of her face and wrapped around her right foot), Aqua (who had a bandage on her right cheek), Ristarte (who had a bandage wrapped around her forehead), and Vivi (who had the carrots removed and had bandages wrapped around her knees).
"Who are you?" Beth asked the four.
"I'm Nami," Nami said.
"I'm Aqua," Aqua said.
"I'm Ristarte, but call me Rista for short," Ristarte said.
"And I'm Nefertari Vivi, princess of Alabasta," Vivi said.
"It's nice to meet all of you," Beth said to the four women.
"Can someone explain to me what happened?" Beth asked.
"Well you were under control by a card and we defeated you to get it out of you," Nami said to Beth.
"You had some gnarly cuts, so me and Rista used our healing magic to heal you a bit," Aqua said.
"Don't thank Aqua, she's pretty useless," Nami said to Beth.
"I heard that," Aqua said angrily.
"How did you get here?" Ristarte asked Beth.
"Well me and the girls of Mermaid Heel were about to go out on an assignment and then-," Beth said.
"An earthquake happened," Nami said interrupting Beth in the process.
"How did you know?" Beth asked Nami.
"That's how we all got here," Nami said.
"Yeah I ended up landing here and then I guess the card affected me," Beth said.
"Oh it did," Nami said as she and the other girls show Beth their bandages.
"I did that?" Beth asked in shock.
"Yes you did," Nami said to Beth.
"I maybe clumsy at times, but I would never do such damage," Beth said.
"You even cause damage to Dylan," Vivi said to Beth.
"Who's Dylan?" Beth asked.
"He's the leader of this group," Ristarte said.
"Where is he?" Beth asked.
"He's over there," Aqua said as she points to the other bed.
They look to see Dylan sleeping away on the bed with a bandage wrapped around his left hand.
"He had a rough time sleeping and when he came into our room, he plopped onto the bed and feel asleep," Aqua said.
"We should wake him up," Vivi said.
"Don't worry Vivi, I got it," Nami said to Vivi.
"Hey Dylan wake up, Jon Moxley is here," Nami said to Dylan as Dylan shot himself up and was now awake.
"Oh my god, Jon you are my favorite AEW wrestler, I wish I brought my T.O.D. VIII DVD with me for you to sign," Dylan said and then he realizes he was tricked.
"Damn it Nami," Dylan said to Nami in a slightly pissed off tone.
"Hey that was the only thing to get you up," Nami said to Dylan.
Dylan then turns to his left to see Beth on his bed, looking at him.
"Hey, I'm Dylan Riley," Dylan said to Beth.
"Oh Dylan, I'm so, so, so, so, soooo sorry," Beth said to Dylan as she felt bad for attack him.
Dylan didn't say anything, instead he gave Beth a few soft head pats.
"I can't stay mad at you, you are sweet innocent magical farm girl with the cutest little freckles," Dylan said to Beth as Beth gave this toothy grin.
"Dylan is usually not much of a talker, he does at points, but he likes to be quiet," Nami said.
"So what's with the group?" Beth asked Dylan.
"Well I'm on a journey to collect a hundred cards and become this harem master, it's a bit confusing," Dylan said.
"Harem, you mean you had sex with these girls," Beth said to Dylan.
"Actually there is five more girls in this group, there are at home," Vivi said.
"And yes he has sex with everyone in the harem," Nami said.
"He's mostly quiet and careful, but you'll love it," Aqua said.
"I'm not sure," Beth said as she felt like she didn't want to get involved in something very dirty and naughty.
"You may be unsure, but you'll love it," Ristarte said to Beth.
"So how many people are in this harem?" Beth asked Dylan.
"Nine, six who were under control by cards and three who join under their own free will," Dylan said.
"How about it Beth, want to join and become member number ten, we do need more power?" Dylan asked Beth.
"Well," Beth said as she looks around the room.
Beth looks around to see Dylan and the girls as she knew she could trust them.
"Okay, I'll join," Beth said.
"Awesome," Nami said.
"Yay," Aqua cheered.
"And to make sure, let me do something," Dylan said as he pulls his iPhone from his pocket and grabs the Beth Vanderwood trading card from the nightstand.
Dylan then flicks on his phone and goes to the home page. He then goes into the special app and press the scan feature. The phone scans the card and after ten seconds it was complete.
"Awesome, we now earned six hundred and five bucks a day," Dylan said as he goes back to the home page on his phone and puts it on sleep mode.
"Oh man, we are getting so close to the thousand dollar mark," Nami said as she could think about was money, while Dylan sets his phone and card on the nightstand.
"Alright, now it's sleep time," Dylan said and then he lays down and closes his eyes, falling asleep.
"Enjoy the ride Beth, because it is going to be crazy," Vivi said to Beth.
While that was happening, someone was recording the whole thing. That someone was a gorgeous woman with jet-black hair that goes past her waist, two horns coming out from her head, wings coming out of the back of her waist, wearing an off the shoulder white silk dress, and white long silk gloves. The woman was recording everything on a phone and then she stops the recording.
The woman then goes to FaceTime to call someone and the person answering it was Issei Hyoudou.
"Master Issei, I got some more info on this Dylan and it appears they got another somewhat weak girl," the woman said to Issei.
"That's good Albedo, head back home and you could fill me in," Issei said to the woman known as Albedo.
Once Issei turns off FaceTime, Albedo tucks her phone into one of her gloves and starts to fly away.
"This guy can build an army of weak girls, he will be in for a surprise once he sees Master Issei's harem army," Albedo thought as she flies back to Issei's secret location.
Woah things are getting more interesting by the chapter. We got another member of Issei's harem revealed and Dylan's group have got a new girl in the form of the Fiore magical farm girl, Beth Vanderwood. And don't worry everyone, she won't be the only Fairy Tail girl featured, several more will be featured in the fic's future. Anyway, let's look at the stats after this chapter.
