Chapter one
Harry Potter had been sitting on his chair in his room at the Dursley's, waiting. He had received a letter from the headmaster three days ago. The man was supposed to pick Harry up that night. Even though Harry was still angry with Dumbledore, he was glad to be able to leave Privet drive even if it meant seeing the headmaster. Even though he wasn't keen on spending time with Ron, he liked being at the Burrow and always had a good time there. But the best part about being at the Burrow was he would also get to see his girlfriend, Ginny.
Harry and Ginny began to get closer when they were at Grimmauld place before Harry's fifth year. When they returned for the Christmas holidays after Arthur Weasley was attacked, Harry had asked Ginny to be his girlfriend. She said yes straight away then snogged him. They had been alone so no one knew they snogged. At first they kept their relationship a secret. Harry knew how much danger Ginny would be in if Voldemort found out. After a while they both realised that Ginny was already in danger, being a Weasley and a blood traitor, as the death eaters called them. It meant she was in just as much danger as muggleborns. It was also known that the Weasley's were close to Harry who was on the top of Voldemort's hit list.
It had come as a shock to everyone except the twins when they found out Harry and Ginny were dating and had been for months. Ron had tried to intimidate Harry at first, until Harry ended up pointing his wand right in Ron's face and threatened to rip his tongue out of his head if he ever tried to butt into his life again. Harry's eyes were intense and Ron was more scared of the look from those eyes then he was of Harry's wand. Ginny had gone further, she had hexed him until he had blood pouring from his nose. Hermione at first went to scold Harry until she saw the look on his face, so she change by saying she was going to tell McGonagall. The moment she said that, Harry, Ginny and many other Gryffindor's threatened her, she realised no one would support her. Harry then told her that's why he lost his trust in her, she liked to run to teachers. All Ron had to do was stay out of their lives, just like Hermione had to, which had nothing to do with either of them and they would be fine.
It had been tense in Gryffindor common room after that, but Hermione took the threats seriously, so she stayed silent. She knew just how powerful Harry was but she had also seen just how Powerful Ginny was. Hermione knew she would never beat either of them if they got into a fight. What surprised Harry and Ginny was Ron, he told the teachers he fell, not that Ginny hexed him. It took until that night for Ginny to find out that the twins had threatened to prank him so he would end up so embarrassed he would not leave the bathrooms. Ron knew when the twins were serious and when they were just threatening, Ron knew this time they would do what they promised. Ginny did wonder how the twins found out, since they weren't at Hogwarts anymore. It was Harry that worked out that lee or one of the girls from the quidditch team had contacted the twins.
For the rest of the school year Ron ignored his sister and Harry. Hermione realised just how much her and Harry had drifted apart and it all started in their third year. Like Harry said to her, he didn't mind having the Firebolt checked for curses, it was a smart thing to do. He just hated that Hermione went behind his back to tell McGonagall, without talking to him first. Harry had actually told McGonagall he was quitting the team since he will refuse to play now they took his broom. If it was any other person, no one would care. An hour later, Harry's Firebolt was returned and from that moment on he hardly spoke to Hermione, but he also lost his respect for McGonagall. He planned to stop playing for Gryffindor he just never told anyone until the next game. When he did tell wood and the rest of the team, he said they could blame McGonagall and Hermione. He refused to say more. Gryffindor lost every game after that.
In a months time Harry would be starting his sixth year. But instead of an attention seeking liar that everyone thought Harry was, now everyone was calling him the chosen one. Harry knew he was the chosen one, which helped him make some decisions, he hoped the headmaster was ready for. So even though he really didn't like Dumbledore and didn't respect him, he knew the old man was going to be needed coming into a war. He told Harry about the prophecy and Harry was going to use that. As he thought about his plans, he glanced down at the note the old man sent him.
"Dear Harry
If it is convenient to you, I shall call upon number four, Privet drive this coming Friday at eleven: pm to escort you to the Burrow, where you have been invited to spend the remainder of your school holidays.
If you are agreeable, I should also be glad of your assistance in a matter to which I hope to attend on the way to the Burrow. I shall explain this more fully when I see you.
Kindly send your answer by return of this owl. Hoping to see you this Friday,
I am yours most sincerely
Albus Dumbledore"
It was right as his clock struck eleven o'clock Harry looked out the window and saw Dumbledore walking towards number four. He had not told the Dursley's that Dumbledore was coming. He wanted them shocked, surprised, intimidated, but most of all, he wanted them scared when they got a look at Albus Dumbledore. He might look like a kindly old man, but even Harry knew Dumbledore was powerful and he could make that power leak out which usually scared most people. Harry learned how to leak his power after he had seen Dumbledore do it. It worked. Harry had used it on Ron, he had used it on Malfoy and he had used it on people who called him a liar. He had used it on one of the other boys who shared his dorm at Hogwarts, Seamus Finnegan. Harry wanted the blond boy to realise just how powerful he was. Harry wasn't angry because Seamus called him a liar, his mother had told him Harry was, so Seamus believed his mother. Harry would do the same thing if his mother was alive. But he just wanted Seamus to realise not to mess with him, but also when everyone realised the truth, not to come to Harry to save them.
Harry would fight, but he was going to fight for his parent's. His parent's had died to save him, he was going to do all he could to kill the one that destroyed his life, even if it meant dying to do it. Harry hoped he wouldn't die and he wasn't going to be reckless, but he would not stop until Voldemort was dead.
Harry heard Vernon's shout which made him smile, then he heard Dumbledore's voice. He decided it was time to join them so he walked calmly down the stairs.
'Ah Harry, good evening,' Albus smiled up at Harry.
'Professor, you're right on time, which doesn't surprise me.'
'I try to be on time, but there are times when something will come up. It seems though you did not inform your family of my arrival.'
'They are not my family, I'm just unlucky enough to be related to those disgusting muggles. Now, are we leaving?'
Albus sighed, 'I need to speak with your aunt and uncle before we leave.'
'Well, while you do that I'll get my things. I really don't want to look at them,' Harry turned and walked up the stairs before Dumbledore could say anything.
Albus sighed again. What he didn't know was Harry was standing just out of sight. He wanted to hear what Dumbledore said to them. He didn't need to get his things, it was all packed, shrunk and in his pocket. Sirius had told him about trunks that shrunk when everyone had been staying at Grimmauld place before his fifth year. When Harry returned to the Dursley's after the school year he had snuck away from Privet drive the first day of the holidays and went straight to Diagon alley. Since Harry kept everything he owned in his trunk, he needed one with multiple compartments, but to be able to shrink it would make his life easier. He had let Hedwig fly to the Burrow, with a letter to Ginny so he didn't need to worry about his owl.
Once he heard that Albus had finished talking, he walked back downstairs and stood at the opened door.
'Where is your trunk Harry?'
'I bought a new one, one that can be shrunk. Since I have to keep everything I own on me, I needed a bigger one, I also needed a trunk with multiple compartments.'
'Yes, a very good idea. What about your owl?'
'Hedwig is with Ginny at the Burrow.'
'Then we shall be on our way.'
Albus watched as Harry just walked out the door, he didn't even look at his relatives, which made him sigh again. He knew Harry would not have had a very good life with the Dursley's and the more he found out the more he had been angry with Petunia. Even though they knew they were also protected if they kept Harry, they still didn't treat him as family, so Harry just saw them a many pure-bloods saw muggles, as disgusting animals. He did get some satisfaction when he told the three Dursley's that it was because of how they treated Harry that they were no longer protected. The wards he originally placed around the house would have protected Harry and the Dursley's, if Harry felt like he was part of the family and he called number four, home. That never happened so the wards were not powerful enough to stop an attack from Voldemort or his death eaters.
'Why did you not tell them I would be coming?' Albus asked when he caught up with Harry.
'They do not want to hear anything about the wizarding world,' Harry stopped and looked up at his headmaster, 'I never took you as someone that would do muggle baiting, not that I care what you do to them. But telling them off now is fifteen years too late,' Harry turned and continued to walking.
Albus realised Harry's anger at him had gotten worse. He thought after some time Harry would forgive him for Sirius' death. It seems Harry was not going to forgive him for losing his godfather. Albus knew Harry was going to work with him to help finish off Voldemort, but Harry didn't like or respect him. Maybe he could do something to make Harry change his mind, he would have to think on that, which would have to be later. They had someone to visit and hopefully talk him into returning to Hogwarts.
'Since you told me that Kreacher came to you, I realised Sirius did know what he was doing. I was wondering if the order of the phoenix can continue to use the house?'
'That depends,' Harry stopped, turned to face his headmaster, 'When is the will reading?'
'On Tuesday at eleven.'
'I will let you know after we've finished at Gringotts.'
'I don't believe it would be safe for you to attend Harry.'
'Then you can't use the house,' Harry turned and walked off.
Albus sighed again. He realised if he didn't give in then it would be difficult for the order to meet where they would be guaranteed secrecy.
'Very well, I'll pick you up.'
'Me and Ginny.'
'That will be up to Molly.'
'Then you better hope you're good at talking people into things,' Harry said but he had continued walking.
Albus wasn't sure what he could do so Harry would drop the animosity, but he definitely knew he was going to try to find out.
