Chapter three
By the time Ron got downstairs for breakfast, Ginny was sitting on Harry's lap. Ron noticed his two older brothers and his parent's didn't seem to mind. He really wanted to put a stop to it, but he remembered what his sister and the twins did to him, he also knew Harry would follow through with his threat. He didn't greet anyone, just sat down and dished himself up some breakfast.
'So, have you got any plans for today?' Arthur asked but he was looking at his daughter with Harry.
'It's warm so maybe swimming in the pond,' Ginny said.
'Flying, it's been a month, I want to fly. I also have a gift for Ginny.'
'I keep telling you not to get me anything.'
'I know, I just ignore you when you say that,' Harry smirked.
'Fine, what did you get me?'
Harry grinned, then flicked his wrist, his wand was instantly in his hand. He summoned his broom, but another broom followed the first.
Ginny squealed as she jumped up but made Harry grimace which made Bill and Charlie laugh.
'You should not have spent so much money Harry,' Molly said.
'Even though I wanted to do this, it was Sirius that suggested I get Ginny a Firebolt. He saw her play, he knew she was good enough to go on and play professionally. Sirius used to help my dad train during the off season so he got used to picking out who was good and who wasn't. But Ginny needs a good broom to show the scouts what she can do.'
'What if she doesn't make the team?' Ron scowled.
'I'm captain and Ginny is my co-captain, which has already been worked out. But it will be try outs for everyone else.'
'That's not fair,' Ron shouted.
'I don't care about fair, I want the best team, which means tryouts,' Harry turned to his girlfriend, 'So flying now or after swimming?'
'Flying, I always loved riding your broom.'
Charlie choked, 'What's up Charlie?' Arthur asked.
'Nothing, just went down the wrong way.'
'Yeah, right. You thought Ginny was going to say what some of your girls say to you,' Bill smirked.
'Don't say it, that's our little sister.'
'Just so you know Charlie, Ginny won't be riding my broom until she's of age,' Harry said seriously but he heard Ginny giggle, 'I'm trying to ease your brother's minds here babe, giggling will not help.'
'I couldn't help it, sorry,' Ginny hugged Harry before she dragged him out the door.
'It's not Harry you have to watch, it's Ginny,' Bill said to his parent's but he couldn't help smiling.
Charlie and Bill hurried outside to watch their sister on a professional broom. They could not believe how good she was. They also saw Harry making moves that professionals make.
'You know, if they could get onto the same team, no one would stop them,' charlie said.
'True, but Ginny always followed the Holyhead Harpies, it's an all girl team.'
'Yeah, but if they got an offer from the same team, I think they would take it. I wonder if they will let me have a go.'
'I'm sure they will, it just might take a while. It's Ginny's first time on her new broom, she won't give it up so quickly. Let's go down, you can ask them when they have a break.
Ron stood at the backdoor staring down at his sister and Harry, flying around on Firebolts. He knew it was his own fault that he was no longer friends with Harry, but he couldn't help feeling jealous.
After an hour, Harry landed near where Bill and Charlie had conjured seats, 'I doubt I will get my girlfriend back for awhile.'
'I was going to ask her if I could have a go, but I think you're right,' Charlie said.
'Here,' Harry held out his broom, 'From one seeker to another, have fun, just watch out for your sister, she's sneaky.'
Charlie grinned making Bill laugh. He took the broom and then took to the skies, yelling as he got higher. Harry and Bill began to laugh at the excited noises Charlie was making.
'You don't need to worry Bill. Our relationship will go as fast or slow as Ginny wants and not until she's an adult. We've already talking about living together, that's after her seventeenth birthday.'
'Good to hear. But even if we didn't trust you, which we do, I doubt it would make a difference. Ginny will not allow anyone to interfere. So, what did the twins do to get Ron to back off even if he keeps giving you death glares?'
Harry smirked, 'They turned up that night, after Ginny hexed him. They threatened him with something that will make him so embarrassed he would never leave the bathroom. I don't know what they were talking about, I didn't ask, neither did Ginny but Ron knew they were serious.'
'The twins know how long Ginny has liked you, but she also hexed them a few times when they tried to get to protective. Being the first girl in seven generations, it's understandable that we all get a little protective of her.'
'Ginny's one powerful little witch, she doesn't need protecting. When I taught the DA, everyone was surprised that Ginny, Neville and Luna got the spells first. Everyone thought the older years would, like Fred and George, even Hermione. Nope, Ginny first, Neville right after her than Luna. It made some of the Ravenclaw's realised they should stop bullying Luna when they saw what she could do.'
'Tell me, if you know. Has Ginny threatened any other girls that might have been staring at you, or trying to get your attention?'
'Yes, but it happened right after everyone realised I was telling the truth about Voldemort. Before, no one would give me the time of day. Right after it was known he was back, many girls came on to me, until they got hexed by Ginny. They tried a few times, even sent things with love potions, all were turned over to McGonagall. But like always, she didn't do a thing,' Harry turned to face Bill, 'I'm not taking defence once we return to Hogwarts. I don't trust that death eater. Ginny doesn't either so I'm going to train Ginny while I train. Dumbledore wants me back and is willing to make some concessions. All the students need a decent teacher and like always, they won't have one.'
'Snape is Dumbledore's spy.'
'he's out for himself, so he's playing both sides. It's easy enough to see. He proved to me he can't be trusted when he didn't bother telling the order about us going to the ministry for more than two hours.'
'What are you talking about?'
Harry shook his head, 'I knew the old man wouldn't tell any of you. Okay, Ginny and I worked it out. From the time I had the vision during my history of magic test to when we were able to fly away from Hogwarts was forty to fifty minutes. He should have already notified the order by then. I gave Snape the message before we ended up in the forbidden forest. It took us nearly two hours to fly there and that was only because we were on thestrals. Then we had to find our way. We kept going through the wrong door in the department of mysteries, which took about ten minutes. There was a lot of fighting and running before you lot turned up. Even if he couldn't find Dumbledore and he told someone else in the order, he didn't do it straight away. It was more like two and a half hours before he did. I believe he made sure we would be alone for a while so the death eaters could get the prophecy. I also believe he contacted them and told them we were heading to the ministry. Either way Bill, that death eater allowed us, six under age and untrained students to face twelve of his worst death eaters. We're lucky none of us died. But we did surprise them. They didn't expect us to be able to fight as well, because of Umbitch and the other shit teachers we've had, they figured we were hopeless. Snape is out for himself and won't show his hand until there is a clear winner.'
Harry watched as Bill hurried back to the house, he sighed. It was about time everyone heard the truth about people like Snape. He planned to tell the Weasley's some things about Dumbledore, but he didn't want everyone fighting each other. Right now, even though Harry hated the old man, they had to stick together. It didn't mean he couldn't turn everyone against Snape and he could do that just by telling the truth.
Charlie ended up landing, thanked Harry then asked where Bill was. Harry pointed to the house then waved Ginny down. It was time for them to go swimming. Harry wanted to cool off but he also wanted to feel better and his girlfriend could always make sure he felt good. Talking about the night they went to the department of mysteries made him think of Sirius and how things could have been different if Dumbledore had just told him about the prophecy and warned him that Voldemort wanted to get hold of it. Either he would have gone there himself or found a way to get Harry there. That's what he did yet Harry had no idea why he kept dreaming of that locked door.
'I showed charlie,' Ginny grinned making Harry laugh as they walked off towards the pond.
'I saw his face, he was impressed. So was Bill.'
Harry and Ginny stayed in the pond until lunch, when Molly called them. Even though they ate, Harry saw some looks aimed at him by Ginny's parent's. He knew it was about what he told Bill.
Harry was right, after they finished eating Mr Weasley instantly asked Harry and Ginny to explain everything that happened from the time Harry had the vision.
'So, you see, we know it wasn't Dumbledore who delayed telling the order. He wanted the prophecy protected, forcing Harry to take it would mean one of them could have gotten hold of it and give it to Voldemort,' Ginny said.
'The order left the moment Albus let us know what was going on. Since we were at Grimmauld place, they used the floo there to go straight to the atrium at the ministry,' Arthur said, 'It was only ten minutes before they began to take the floo after Albus told us where you lot went.'
'So, they were gone for more than two hours at that time,' Bill growled, then turned to Harry, 'Do you think he wanted you to fall for the trap or maybe he wanted Sirius to go after you so he could get caught?'
'Both, he hated Sirius and already tried to have him kissed. He lies all the time and all the staff at Hogwarts believe him, which is the reason I don't trust any of them. But this, he was going to allow the six of us to face the twelve worst death eaters and normally people our age would have died, it's just lucky we trained all year with the DA.'
'It's lucky you trained everyone mate,' Charlie said, 'but I'm convinced. Everything I've heard about how Snape is with you lot and how he acts when he's with the order, tells me he really isn't on our side.'
'I do really believe he's playing both sides and if he survives, he'll still be pretending to be loyal to which ever side wins. He doesn't care. I mean it's easy to see his dark. He treats all the kids of light families like the death eaters treat them and supports children of death eaters. He's been showing his true nature all the time yet the old man trusts him. Dumbledore should use veritaserum or the unbreakable vow before trusting that man, but he hasn't.'
Harry and Ginny watched as the elder Weasley's stared at each other. He knew they wouldn't want their kids put in danger and they could be if they were taking defence with Snape.
