Chapter one

By the time Albus Dumbledore's funeral was over, Harry Potter had made a few decisions. He tugged on his girlfriend's hand and pulled her away from the crowd. The moment they went around one of the large trees near the lake Harry pulled his invisibility cloak over both of them.

'What's wrong?'

'I've made a few decisions and they include you. Okay, first is Dumbledore only allowed me to tell Ron and Hermione about the horcruxes, but I couldn't keep any secrets from you. It wouldn't be right.'

'I know, you've told me that already.'

'Right, but it just seems wrong to not inform others who we would know is trustworthy. I'm not going to yet, I figured I could see how I go first. If I have trouble then it might be best to speak with some of the order.'

'That makes sense. I could never understand why Dumbledore left you to deal with this when he had the entire Order of the Phoenix to help him.'

'I think I worked out a few things but I don't want to discuss any of this around here. But now to my decisions. I don't want Ron and Hermione with me. First is because all they do is argue and fight. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on what I have to do if I had to listen to them all the time. Then you have Ron who, sorry to say, he's lazy, so we'll get stuck doing all the work and then he'll go on about being bored or hungry. Also, we won't be able to always get food or at least not carry a lot so Ron will complain about that. Third, Hermione will not stop arguing if she believes she's right. We've already discussed where these things might be, she doesn't agree with me and I don't agree with her. But if we're out there she will never stop until I give in and because she knows Ron likes her, she will use that to make him agree with her. I tried to tell her about Malfoy, she refused to listen and look what happened. He was in on the death of Dumbledore, yet she would probably still argue with me. You know what she's like.'

'I do, but also, only a few days ago she was still angry with you about the damn book. She even called you a liar and a cheat.'

'Exactly and then you add the Firebolt, I can't trust her, I also can't trust Ron. If things get rough Ron will desert me like he did before and Hermione will want to tell someone and it might be someone I don't really trust.'

'You're right about both, especially Ron, he would take off, especially if he didn't get enough food. But you can't do this alone. It would drive you crazy being by yourself without being able to talk to and discuss ideas.'

'I know, so I want you to come with me.'

'They will never let me since I'm not of age yet.'

'I know that's why I want us to sneak away, tonight before everyone leaves tomorrow.'

'My parents will kill you Harry. No, they won't, but they won't be happy.'

'I know. So this is up to you. I either go off alone and I hate to say, I may never see you again, or you sneak away with me.'

'I want to go with you, I always did but even Ron kept me away from any of your discussions.'

'Which wasn't his right. This is my job, I was told to tell them but it still comes down to me because of the prophecy. Okay, we need to act like we're going to miss each other. Also, we need some of the twin's products, they might come in handy.'

'I'm spelled into the shop, but they live above it, they would hear anyone that entered the shop.'

'I could see them, you stay hidden and I do that tomorrow before the train arrives at kings cross station. That way they won't know you're missing. If we get you a muggle wig, I could give you money to buy things like a tent.'

'You'll need to get a lot out of your vault in case…he ends up in control.'

'Which he will. With Dumbledore gone I doubt he will have much resistance. I have no idea if the goblins will join him or fight, or what, so I plan to empty my vault but change most of it into muggle money. We'll be safer in the muggle world than the wizarding world. Also we can stay the odd night in a muggle hotel but use the tent as well. We can confund the muggles so we don't have to waste money on hotels. I can teach you enough so you will be able to blend in. We keep moving around to make it hard for anyone to find us. We know this could take a long time, which means being careful with money. I also think there will be times we might need to use magic to get what we need from the muggles, like food or medical supplies.'

'I know it's not something you like to do but we might have no choices by to steal from the muggles and use the money in the wizarding world. You'll have to keep some wizarding money in case we need stuff and can't get to Gringotts to have it changed. Anyway, I'll get the tent, but I'll also get extra blankets. If we are using the tent during winter, we'll need them.'

'Yes, but I want one of the bigger tents, with a fireplace and bathroom that gives you hot water. I know they cost more but we'll need it. But we'll try to use the tent only when it's warmer and hotels when it's cold, muggle hotels where we can sneak in and out. We just make sure the tent and everything else is ready in case we get stuck in the tent when it's cold.'

'Okay, but I don't need a muggle wig. I can dye my hair using a spell, it will last until I can buy some packet dye.'

'Okay, I want to dye my hair as well, everyone knows what my hair is like.'

'You can let it grow out as well. No one would believe you would have long hair. Also, what about those muggle contact lenses I've heard others talk about?'

'If I didn't wear glasses and had different coloured long hair, no one will see Harry Potter. Okay, make-up for my scar, but contacts will need to be ordered after I get my eyes checked. If we do that it will mean sticking around London.'

'I doubt anyone would believe you'll stay close. They will think you've gone into hiding and not any place where someone will see you.'

'Alright, we'll make sure we look different before we venture out. So I'll get you to use that spell on my hair so it's brown or something.'

'I'll give you the same colour as Seamus. I doubt anyone will think the blond boy is Harry Potter.'

'Alright, as long as I don't have white hair like the ferret. So we have to act normal and sometime after everyone is asleep you do both our hair while we're still here. Also, I need to get those books from Hermione. If I asked her for them she'll want to know why.'

'I'll sneak in during the night. I can use your cloak and silence my feet. Bill taught me how to cast silently so if I need to use a spell she won't hear me.'

'Okay, so we've got some basic plans. We'll work on the rest after we've left.'

'We should get in before they get suspicious.'

Harry slipped his arms around Ginny. He grinned as she pulled him close then they were kissing. A heated passionate kiss. Harry wiggled a bit to let Ginny know exactly what her kisses were doing to him. When she gasped even though she was still kissing him, it made Harry chuckled which ended their kiss.

'Make sure no one see's that. If I can feel it then someone can see it.'

'Not in these robes they won't. No one ever saw any of the other hardon's I had, all caused by you.'

Ginny smirked, 'I enjoyed making you uncomfortable. Let's you know that sooner or later you won't need to take care of that yourself.'

'I know, but I would rather not think about it until you're older.'

'I am older, we all are and we're all about to be involved in a fight that could cost us our lives. I don't want to miss out on things if I don't need to. Okay, I will wait for a while since it's only a couple of months and I'll be sixteen. But you'll be classed as an adult. It would be illegal.'

'I know you can have sex when you're sixteen, but I will be an adult, which would be illegal. We can discuss that later and work something out,' Harry pulled the cloak off, stuffed it into his pocket. He held Ginny's hand as they hurried into the castle. The last thing Harry wanted or needed was anyone from the ministry trying to talk to him. He knew Scrimgeour, the new minister for magic would as he had been asking Dumbledore to set up a meeting with Harry. And Harry had seen a few looks from the minister during the service. But Harry also wanted nothing to do with him when he has Fudge and Umbitch working for him. After all those two did, Harry would never have anything to do with someone that was involved with them.

Harry and Ginny mainly stuck to Neville or others so they weren't alone. They didn't want Ron or Hermione to start with the questions and to try to make Ginny leave so they could talk. They didn't know that Ginny knew more than they did.

From the middle of third year Harry realised he could not trust Hermione or Ron so he had stopped telling them everything. But with Ginny, they were serious about each other and both hoped they would survive where they could end up married. Harry didn't believe a couple should keep important information from each other. From the moment Harry and Ginny got together, he had filled her in on the meetings he had with Dumbledore. Soon he would have to tell her about his suspicions and hoped she might be able to help him work out a solution to a very big problem.

'Ginny, you need to leave, we have to talk to Harry,' Ron said.

'No, she's not going anywhere,' Harry said then put his arm around Ginny.

'But Harry, we need to make plans.'

'We can't talk here, it's too risky. Besides, I told Ginny everything. She's my girlfriend, I won't keep secret's from her.'

'But Dumbledore said you had to keep this between us,' Hermione said.

'I don't agree with Dumbledore. He made enough mistakes and keeping this a secret could end up with Voldemort winning. Anything I know, Ginny will know. But we're still not talking about this here. We'll talk after we've left Hogwarts and I don't mean on the train. So since we can't discuss any of that, Ginny and I would like some time alone, while we can,' Harry turned away from his friends to face his girl who smirked then wrapped her arms around Harry's neck and kissed him.

They always knew if they began kissing Ron would leave, usually with Hermione following. Right now Harry didn't want to listen to either of them, especially Hermione. She was calling him a cheat and a liar a few days ago, now she wants Harry to listen to her. Never going to happen, never again. But he just remembered about the half blood prince's potions book. It might be worth getting that from the room of requirement. That book might be needed. He might hate Snape but that book had helped him win the lucky potion, it just might end up helping him again. Harry hoped it would help, especially with Voldemort.
