Chapter eight

"I sat for a few minutes before I continued writing, mainly because I knew there would be a lot of yelling. When we first left, Harry and I spoke about the future, it gave us hope we would have one. He asked me to marry him. At first we were going to wait until after we finished at Hogwarts, if we got the chance to finish. There is a personal reason why we decided to marry the moment I turned sixteen and no, it is not what most of you are probably thinking. Harry and I spoke, we were never going to have sex until we were engaged, at the earliest, Harry even said not until we were married. He has such an old fashioned quality about him. Just know we committed ourselves to each other in every way, because we love each other and wanted to belong to the other. We only committed ourselves to each other after we were married. I know it's rare for young people to wait, they usually just like to shag a lot, but Harry and I wanted to belong to each other before we went further. We want to have a party since we never got to have our wedding with all of you. We'll talk about that when we see you.

"We talked and we might explain to Kingsley, who is now minister, what we did and how we worked it all out. We're still not sure as we feel this is really something Harry and I want to keep just between us. You all know I've loved Harry for years and Harry told me he finally began to have feelings for me during my third year. He said seeing me at the yule ball with Neville, he finally got to see me as a girl and not just Ron's little sister. At first he did admit that he wasn't going to approach me since he knew Ron would go off. But something Sirius and Remus mentioned when we were staying at headquarters made Harry realised that he should talk to me and tell me how he felt and not let anyone, not even Ron, stop us being together if that is what we both wanted. And we did want to be together.

"But now a warning, if any of you try to stop Harry and me being together, we agreed that you'll never see us again. If mum, or any one tries to keep me from Harry then we plan to have them arrested for attempted kidnapping. I know that might shock you but I also know all of you, especially mum. We're married, we waited until we were married to have sex, then we are about to start our honeymoon. All the paperwork is legal and finalised, so really none of you can do anything. But we hope you don't, we just know it might happen and neither Harry nor I will allow you to keep us apart. We really hope all of you support us though, so we can remain close with everyone.

"Harry bought us a beautiful home and I've already begun to decorate it. I keep asking Harry what he likes, but all he said was he wanted the house to feel like a home, like how the Burrow feels, like a loving home. He does plan to have a garden, he wants to plant lilies, for his mother, which had me in tears when he told me that. But we can talk when we see you so I better sign off, we'll see you in a few weeks, after our honeymoon, love Ginny Potter. PS, I just had to write my new name."

Everyone in the Burrow was shocked, but what surprised some was Molly had a huge smile on her face. She had smiled at Arthur and both nodded. Even if they would have preferred to celebrate the wedding with their youngest daughter to the young man she loved, they were happy for them.

Ron was furious, but he realised if he did try something, not only would Ginny hex him, but so would Harry, who was now legally married to his sister. Even his parent's might hex him. Bill and Charlie was surprised, but not really shocked. They knew how Ginny felt about Harry and it seemed something made them change their plans to marry now and not later. They had decided since Harry was a good bloke and he was the one Ginny loved, then they would support their marriage. The twins couldn't stop ginning, but they would write to Ginny and Harry and explain. They might be happy that their little sister married the man she loved, but that wasn't the only reason they were happy.

Even though Harry and Ginny were enjoying their honeymoon, which was spent at their new home, they knew after they finished Hogwarts they could go away on a holiday then. They were already talking about where they would go and they would spend two whole months away, which means they might go to a few places. They would work on those plans once they were almost finished at Hogwarts. They had plenty of time to work everything out.

They did get a few letters during their honeymoon. The twins said they finally won the bets that were going around about Harry. Reading that made Ginny roll her eyes and Harry laugh. But they both ended up laughing when they explained the different bets. One bet the twins won was would Harry and Ginny marry because she got pregnant. The twins knew that would not happen. They knew Harry was too noble, but he would also wait until they married before having sex. With Ginny, she would not want to get pregnant until she had a chance at a quidditch career so she would use the charms to prevent pregnancy. Harry and Ginny just kept laughing at all the different bets that was going around about Harry.

They got a letter from both Arthur and Molly Weasley, which had some wet spots on the parchment, which told them Ginny's mum ended up crying. They were surprised that she didn't go off, like they thought she would. She said she knew they were meant to be, she was just upset that she couldn't plan the wedding. Arthur congratulated them and said they would plan a big party to celebrate their marriage.

One of the letters they sent was to the new minister but it was so it could be published, which it did, so the wizarding world knew that it was Harry and Ginny who destroyed Voldemort. In the letter they wrote that Dumbledore explained how it could be done, but it had to be Harry and Ginny together. Harry, Ginny, nor Dumbledore knew the death eaters would die, Harry and Ginny just went with what Dumbledore said since he knew magic others didn't and he had been studying Voldemort since he was a student at Hogwarts. They went through all the letters Dumbledore left Harry, along with the books and there was nothing about the death eaters. Harry and Ginny decided to act naive and not reveal anything about the link from Voldemort to his death eaters. If people read that then they would see Harry and Ginny as knowing all those people would die, yet they still went ahead and killed Voldemort. Neither of them were going to risk their lives or freedom, especially on anyone that supported those that died.

They got letters from Kingsley who did want to talk to them, but he would agree to whatever they wanted since they basically saved the world. They were surprised by the letter from McGonagall, who said she will have some of the old marriage quarters unsealed and cleaned ready for them when they return to Hogwarts. Neither Harry nor Ginny knew the school had married quarters. Then they realised that a long time ago people used to marry young, girls even began to have babies when they were twelve and thirteen, long before they were a legal adult, as it's classed in today's society. So it makes sense that at the time Hogwarts was built, there could have been many married students.

They weren't surprised they didn't get a letter or letters from Ron or Hermione. But what Harry wrote in his letter was true. He could not trust them any more and he got sick of their arguments all the time. He had enough of the Dursley's arguing and fighting and it was always aimed at him, he didn't need it from his so called friends.

They got letters from Neville, Luna and many of their other friends, all congratulating them. They even got letters from people like Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott, Daphne Greengrass, Theodore Nott and Parvati Patil. All of them thanked them for saving them and their world, they also congratulated them on their marriage.

Harry and Ginny wasn't surprised to hear from people like Susan Bones. But they were surprised to hear from some of the Slytherin's. Even though they knew not all Slytherin's wanted to be death eaters, they never had anything to do with the snakes. Now they realised that some Slytherin's had to act the part, or they could have been killed.

Even after two weeks, people were still celebrating. The ministry was having a big overhaul done. Apart from losing many people, who were death eaters, they wanted to make sure the people who worked there wanted to work to make their world better, not because of money or power.

Harry just finished helping Dobby with dinner, but he had also been watching his wife write her letter. Ginny was telling her parent's they would be there on Saturday and they could talk and organise the party to celebrate, not just their marriage but the end of Voldemort and danger.

Harry had wrote his letter to Kingsley so they could organise a time to sit down together and go over what they did, and what they could put in a statement. Because of how everyone would treat Harry and Ginny, he asked Kingsley if they could meet somewhere else. Now Harry was just waiting to hear from the minister for magic. He figured if they did want somewhere private, then it could be a secure office at the ministry, if Harry and Ginny could sneak in. The other idea Harry had was Grimmauld place. Only the order could get in, but since Dumbledore is dead and Harry owns the house, he would work on changing those enchantments to stop anyone getting in. Harry and Ginny planned to strip the place bare, decorate it, then sell it. Harry didn't want it and he knew Sirius hated the place, but they could make a good bit of money if they just put some money into buying all new stuff.

For now, they were still enjoying their honeymoon and were ready to eat. They would get back to their discussions later.

One thing both Harry and Ginny liked and got used to very quickly, was being together constantly. Most would think that was a bit suffocating, but it wasn't. They knew in years to come, that could change. They would both be working so they would have to get used to being apart. For now, since they were newly married, they decided to always be together. Nothing and no one will ever get between them, the both of them would make sure of that.
