Chapter ten

While Ginny, Molly and Fleur went over plans for the party, Harry spoke with his father-in-law, who told Harry it was time to call him Arthur.

'Even though we love you like one of our own, you had your own parent's and we would never try to take their place by telling you to call us mum and dad.'

Harry gave a small smile, 'I was worried about that. I just couldn't, it would feel like I was betraying my parent's memories.'

'We know Harry. Molly and I spoke about it right after we got your letter. We knew it was one of the reasons you kept a bit of distance from us. We also know it was because of how those Dursley's treated you. We might not have known at the time, we know now and we understand. But It's the same with Fleur, she has her own mum and dad so we're Arthur and Molly to her and family.'

'Yeah, family. Hard to believe I have a family, a real family.'

'After hearing what you wrote in that letter, we realised you never thought of those muggles as family,' Bill said.

'I never did and I never thought of that house as home. I knew that from the time I was five years old. I wasn't welcome there, I was stuck there and they made sure to let me know as often as they could that it was not my home.'

'So that's another one of Albus's mistakes,' Arthur said.

Harry nodded, 'He told me as long as I call that place home, I'll be safe. I was about five when I stopped thinking of it as home and them as family. I might have had to call them aunt and uncle but that was just so I would know they wouldn't think of me as part of their family. I did tell Dumbledore what they said and what I felt. He didn't believe me, he refused to believe they didn't care about me or that I didn't care about them. I knew there was no use arguing since he never listened to anything I had to say. Anyway, is there any news that wasn't put in the letters?'

Arthur began by telling Harry that Remus and Tonks got married and they are expecting a child. Arthur even hinted that they wanted Harry to be an important part of their child's life. Harry understood straight away what Arthur was getting at. Remus and Tonks planned to ask Harry to be the godfather. He knew if Sirius was still alive they probably would have picked him. Remus and Sirius were close and Tonks was Sirius' cousin. Harry would do it, he just hoped they asked Ginny to be godmother. Ginny and Tonks acted like sisters whenever they got together. They were close, very close. But Harry didn't know much about Tonks or her life outside the order of the phoenix apart from the fact she was Sirius' cousin. For all he knew she had close friends and one of them would be named godmother. He would have to wait to find out.

When lunch was served, everyone began to eat, but Ron and Hermione still refused to come down stairs. Molly was going to make them, or tell Hermione she was not welcome. She was angry with both of them for how they treated Harry, but also how they are acting now. Harry and Ginny saved the world, yet they were both acting like they were jealous they weren't involved. Dumbledore might have wanted Harry to tell Hermione and Ron but because of Harry's trust issues, Albus should have realised Harry would never trust them enough to tell them.

Harry was the one that told Molly to leave them, he had already put them out of his life, he wasn't going to think about them any longer. If they turned around and apologised, he might talk to them again. But Harry knew, Hermione will never apologise when she believed she was right, about everything. She wasn't right yet she will never accept that. It could be staring right in her face yet she will never believe she was wrong. Ron might apologise, eventually, but it won't be for a long time. It normally took him a while to realise he was wrong, then he had to work up the courage to say he was wrong, then apologise. It could be a few weeks, it could take a few months. It might not happen at all. They just had to wait and see.

The following day, Harry and Ginny invited Molly and Arthur to their house. They explained that since they were newly married, it would be best to notify them if they planned to drop in. Ginny was straight forward about that, but she did hint that the bedroom was not the only place they spent time together. Ginny was able to keep a straight face as she spoke to her parents. Harry had to turn away so his in-laws didn't see him grin. His wife had basically told her parents to send them a letter instead of turning up in case they were having sex in the living room.

Harry and Ginny made love often in the living room, usually right in front of the fireplace. They had bought this huge rug that they just couldn't resist making love on it. They would often lie there talking after making love. Holding each other and talking about the future. It was one of their favourite places in the house.

By the time Molly and Arthur returned home from visiting Ginny and Harry's home, they found out that Hermione had left the Burrow to return to her parent's home. Since she knew how dangerous it could be for her parent's, she had been able to talk them into taking an extended holiday. They finally arrived back in England the previous day. Since Ron had broken up with her, she felt there was no use staying. She had no one at the Burrow, not now they all supported Harry and Ginny. Harry had been her best friend until she began to get close to Ginny. Once Harry and Ginny got together, they spent all their time together and hardly any with her. Now she finds out that Harry thinks she was wrong, when she wasn't. She decided that she was not going to stay around people who didn't trust her.

Ron never spoke with anyone, he would spend most of his time in his room, or flying down at the orchard. He already told his parent's he would not be attending the party, as he did not want to celebrate anything. Molly went to have a go at her youngest son, but Arthur calmed her down before telling Ron if that was how he felt, then he would not be involved in any family celebration from now on, which included Christmas, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries. Arthur made sure Ron understood what he meant. If he refuse to celebrate his sister's marriage to Harry, then Ron will never be part of any family celebration. His birthday would be just another day, but only for Ron, just as Christmas would be from now on. Ron would spend it alone and would not receive any gifts. Arthur told Ron that he was very disappointed in him and hoped he would eventually grow up.

Harry and Ginny had invited everyone to their party. It was basically a combination party to celebrate the end of Voldemort and a reception for their marriage. Only two people were missing, Ron and Hermione. Both were invited, they never heard back from Hermione and Ron just said no before leaving the room. That was the last chance for both of them. No one really missed either of them, they were going to enjoy the night.

One surprise that shocked everyone was when Harry and Ginny ended up singing to each other and both had great voices. Also Harry played the piano with Ginny sitting beside him as they sang. Many girls ended up in tears as they listened to the words of love the young couple sang to each other. Right as the song finished and everyone cheered, Fred and George set off some of their special fireworks, but these not only exploded into lots of colours, they also showed different pictures of Harry and Ginny. There were a lot of them snogging in the Gryffindor common room, which showed they did not care that many of the students were watching them. Harry had asked them to use some of their fireworks, he just didn't expect this.

Harry and Ginny never realised the twins got so many photo's of them. They told Harry and Ginny that most were taken by Colin, who gave the twins copies to use for the party. Ginny was determined to speak with Colin about some photo's. Apart from wanting copies for her home, she wanted him to take some pictures of them and maybe have one done where they were both dressed up, something that they could enlarge and put up on the wall in their home. She would also mention to him that sometimes taking pictures of them wasn't appropriate. She would speak with Colin once they were back at Hogwarts.

Remus and Tonks asked both Harry and Ginny to be godparents to their son Teddy. Tonks had placed the baby in Ginny's arms. Harry wouldn't stop staring at Ginny as she held Teddy in her arms.

'Seeing the future, Harry,' Remus smiled.

Harry grinned, 'Yeah, not for a while, naturally, but yeah, it's one thing we already spoke about, kids.'

'Because Ginny came from such a large family, she probably won't want too many.'

'We haven't actually said anything about how many, but numbers were thrown about. We'll probably go with four. I mean, I would be happy with one, or a dozen, so it doesn't really matter. It makes me curious though Moony. Ginny's a red head, I wonder if we will have a girl with red hair and my eyes, sort of like mum.'

'It could happen. James looked more like his grandmother than his parent's. The hair comes from his grandmother. You could easily have a girl that resembles Lily.'

'Yeah, I saw some pictures of my grandparents when I went into the house. You could also tell that Dorea was a Black.'

'I never met her myself only saw a picture. But Sirius did tell me that even though she was a Black and had temper, she wasn't like the others. She was powerful, like your grandfather, she just wasn't crazy like many of the other Blacks. Sirius believed a lot of it came down to marrying family. Some turned out okay, like Andromeda, some ended up like his mother and cousin, Bellatrix. Those three sisters were all complete opposites but Bellatrix was crazy, even as a student.'

'I've heard that about her. So, what about you two, going to have more kids?'

'We would like at least one more, but I wouldn't say no to more.'

Harry nodded, he knew how Remus felt. He would like a few kids, but he would be happy with one if it came to that, he would prefer two if they were only going to have a small family. He wouldn't like his child to get lonely, so two would be better but he would still prefer more. Ginny knew he would want more and she even said she would definitely go for two, then it would be wait and see if they had more.

The two men joined their wives, this time though Tonks gave Harry Teddy to hold and Ginny was the one staring and she had a huge smile on her face. She was seeing the future, a future of her husband holding one of their children. But it was right then that she realised she would like more than just a couple. She always had fun or always had someone to talk to when she was growing up. She wanted that for her children, so maybe four little Potters might end up at Hogwarts, in the not too distant future.
