Chapter thirteen

'So, a marauder is head of Gryffindor,' Harry smirked making Remus and Ginny laugh.

'Yes, I doubt anyone would have predicted that. Now come on Potters, I'll show you to your quarters. The prefects will be explaining to all the students how to contact you when you're rooms are not connected to any house and how they can call for any house elf to get you if your needed in a hurry.'

'And we will be, I just hope it's for normal problems and not like over the last few years.'

'Don't worry Harry, I doubt any of us will have the same type of trouble as before. Look at my situation. It's known I am a werewolf, yet I am here again and it was approved by the governors and the rest of the staff. It's also known that my wife will be taking my class when…it's that time of the month,' Remus smirked making Harry and Ginny laughed, 'But seriously, I know it's mainly down to your reputation Harry, but hopefully this will show everyone that not all of us are dangerous beasts. Its just during the full moon when we are.'

'Most here already do know that, it was only those Slytherin's like Malfoy that didn't like you.'

'Exactly. The older ones that are here now never caused me any problems when I was here before. But here we are, you will need to give it a password. I'll leave you two settle in.'

'Thanks Remus, or I should say, Professor Lupin,' Harry grinned then laughed as Remus rolled his eyes before hugging Harry.

Harry and Ginny stepped into their rooms, 'Blimey, it's like an apartment by the look of it,' Harry said looking around at the large living room.

'I see a kitchen through there. This room is huge, but there's a large double desk so we can both use it at the same time. Two other doors, they must be the bedroom and bathroom.'

'We can check it out more tomorrow. I'm knackered, let's get to bed.'

Ginny pouted, 'Does that mean no sex?'

Harry laughed, 'I'm never that tired Gin.' He picked up his wife and carried her into the bedroom, kicking the door closed behind them. Even though they knew their schedule was hectic and they had classes tomorrow, Harry and Ginny never missed an opportunity to make love.

Like with every other students, Harry and Ginny got into a routine pretty quickly. There were only a few minor problems that the head boy and girl had to see too. Even though Harry and Ginny were Gryffindor's, they were given access to all houses so they could deal with problems from any student.

Harry had been waiting for Ron to cause trouble, so far he hadn't, he just kept glaring at Harry and sometimes Ginny. Dean did tell Harry that Ron overheard what Harry said about the quidditch team. Neville believes Ron's weighing up his options. Cause trouble for Harry and Ginny, he's off the team. Stay quiet and try not to say anything to Harry and Ginny and he might make the team again.

Ron knew his grades weren't great and Hermione had already told him she wouldn't be helping him this year, especially since Ron had broken up with her. She was going to spend all her time studying so she could get the best results in her newts. Ron also realised that everyone supported Harry and Ginny, even his own family supported them. If he said anything he could end up having no one to talk to this year. If he could get picked up to play quidditch, he would leave but to do that meant behaving, especially towards Harry and Ginny. He also knew he would have to stop more goals than the others if he had a chance at making the team. He knew there was no hope in being an auror. He wondered if he could get his dad to help him out if he didn't get picked. Maybe his dad could get him into the department of magical games and sports.

Even though many knew that Ginny only returned to Hogwarts so she wouldn't be separated from Harry, they didn't know she had been picked up by the Holyhead Harpies. While they were on their honeymoon, Harry had secretly organised a try out for his wife. But in the letter he wrote to Gwenog Jones, he only asked her to be given a chance to show what she could do. It would be up to the captain to decide if she was good enough. Ginny had been beside herself when Harry took her to the Holyhead Harpies stadium. At the time she just thought she was going to meet them and Harry used his fame to make that happen, something she never thought Harry would do. But she had been handed a broom and a uniform and told to show the captain what she could do.

Now Ginny had a year to keep training, so even though she really didn't need to do her N.E.W.T.s, she was going to take only defence, transfiguration, charms, and herbology. The rest of the time she would continue to practice, even if she had to practice alone.

Harry had called tryouts and everyone was surprised when Ron didn't turn up. They really thought he would shove his pride so he could get back on the team. But after three long hours, he had a team, but he had also picked seven other players who would train with them in case they were needed. There were always accidents even if the Slytherin's played fair, someone could still get hurt. Those other players might end up on the team next year, since four of the team would be gone by then. He wanted both his main team and reserve to be ready, it also helped Ginny train. As Ginny said, it would also help Harry since the scouts would often turn up to watch games. It was known Harry Potter played seeker and he got on the team in his first year and it had nothing to do with the-boy-who-lived.

After a meeting with the team, he told everyone to head off, but by the first game, their uniforms would be ready. Harry and Ginny walked hand in hand back to the castle. Just as they stepped in, Neville hurried over to them.

'What's going on?' Harry asked instantly pulling his wand.

'No danger Harry, it's nothing like that.' Neville smiled.

'Okay, then don't do that again.'

'Sorry mate. Anyway, I noticed Ron's trunk was gone, so I spoke with Remus. It seems Ron has left.'

'He probably knew he wouldn't get any newts and to make the team and stay on it, he would have to behave,' Harry said.

'I bet he's going to see if dad can get him a job in his office or somewhere in the ministry,' Ginny said.

'I noticed that he hadn't been spending time with Hermione, maybe that had something to do with it,' Neville shrugged.

'Yeah, but since he broke up with her, he would be thick to think she would spend time with him and help him with his work.'

'I think he just knew sooner or later he would say or do something which could get him in serious trouble. Too many people support us right now so he would find himself in a difficult position. Let's forget about him for now, I'm sure someone in the family will let us know why the prat left,' Ginny said.

Even though Hermione studied, she had tried to get to Harry so she could have it out with him. But he was never alone, he was always with Ginny. She got so angry that sometimes she got lost in her thoughts and her work wasn't done. She wasn't going to allow Harry to ruin her chance at a perfect score. She would show everyone she was still the smartest witch around.

Harry and Ginny spent their last Christmas at Hogwarts. Even though it was their first as a married couple and could go home. They really wanted to spend as much time as possible at Hogwarts.

They did hear from Arthur. Ron had asked if his father could get him a job in the department of magical games and sports. There was no way. It was a very popular department and normally they only take people who did well in the five main classes. They didn't need to get O's, they were happy with E's or O's. Finally Arthur got Ron into his department. He would start at the bottom and if he worked hard and proved himself, Arthur may be able to put in a word in the department his son really wanted.

After Gryffindor won the quidditch cup, by a huge margin, many scouts approached all the Gryffindor's. When they heard that Harry was considering playing professionally, if he was picked and only picked for quidditch and it had nothing to do with Voldemort or the-boy-who-lived, he would take a spot. Four teams ended up asking him to join as their seeker. The team Harry ended up choosing was the Falmouth Falcons, his dad's old team. Everyone knew Harry was married, so he wouldn't need to board at the stadiums like a lot of other rookies, Ginny was the same. As long as they turned up to train, they could still have their married life.

During the graduating speech and the speech by Harry, who was voted as the student with the best scores, Hermione had to be stunned. She began screaming that Harry cheated, that she was a lot smarter than he was. She even said he probably bribed the examination board. Hermione was taken to the hospital wing, instead of being able to head home with the other graduates. Harry and Ginny had been surprised. They thought Ron would go off, but he left. Hermione did go off but she sounded like a crazy person. Harry believed it was a combination of things that finally made Hermione lose it. One being how obsessed she was with studying. If you didn't take a break occasionally you would collapse, usually from exhaustion but it can also cause you to make mistakes and by the look of it, that's what happened to Hermione. It was also her belief that she was the smartest student at Hogwarts, then she finds out she's not. Hermione had a full on break down and would spent the next few years in St Mungo's.

Neville went on to become a herbology master and continued to work beside Professor Sprout until she retired and he became a Hogwarts professor. He married Hannah Abbott and had two children.

Luna did work for her father until he met a man who was like her and her father, loved magical animals. They married only three months after meeting and they had two children.

Harry and Ginny's careers were long and successful. Harry ended up being known as the best seeker in the world, he ended up captain after four years and won almost all their games. Ginny's career was the same, won a lot of games, went on to captain the team after Gwenog retired. Both Harry and Ginny were picked to play for England in the world cup, in which the English team won against Canada when Harry caught the snitch after a four hour game.

After playing for ten years, Ginny Potter hung up her broom. She only told Harry she was pregnant and wanted to keep it quiet as long as possible. They knew everyone would end up following them again and more stories would be published. They wanted as much privacy during this time as possible.

Ginny gave birth to a son that was named Orion James Potter, after Sirius Orion Black and James Charlus Potter. Harry had been beside her during the delivery. The moment the healer placed the baby boy into his father's arms, Harry had tears running down his face as he stared at his son. He sat beside his wife, who was exhausted after six hours of labour. Ginny saw the love Harry had for her and now she was seeing the love Harry had for his son.

By the time the healer left to give the new parent's some time alone, word was already spreading around the wizarding world. Their saviours, Harry and Ginny Potter had their first child, a boy. So once again the wizarding world celebrated, this time it wasn't the end of the war, it was to show how happy they were for their hero's.

The end:
