Because we can all use some Merlin humor, and I wanted to try my hand at drabbles, here's hoping I've done both. (won't be too spoiler-y, I think.)

Years after Arthur's death. In the year 2013. The knights, court physician, queen and king return to the land of the living to find a different damaged merlin. They find many things about their friend and try to save him as well as the world.

He raised his hands and pressed the tender, warm skin of his palms to his friend's wet cheeks, grasping his face and looking into his tearful blue eyes. "She said that you're strong. And that you'll be okay." / Gwen dies. Merlin's the one who has to tell Arthur, and be there to comfort him. No slash. Strong bromance.
