Lonely and dark.

His memories were simple, he knew his name, and he remembered grey hair and grey eyes, with a kind voice that would speak to him from out of the darkness. His memories didn't exist other than those basics, and all he knew was darkness and loneliness. He had no memories of any person other than grey eyes and grey hair, a woman with those features who would talk to him, but even his memories of that were hazy.

He had been floating in a container.

That was all.

He had never left his container, he didn't know how long he had been in the container. All he knew was that he had never tasted air, he had never known what it was like to be outside of his container. He just floated all alone in the darkness that surrounded him, not knowing what to do. His memories of language, he didn't know how he had them.

It was all alone.

He didn't like it.

He could barely move though, he didn't know why, but he wanted to move. He wanted so badly to leave his home, this small and lonely place that he existed in.

"This seems like the perfect place for a for ritual to remove her Sacred Gear."

A person.

He couldn't see her through the darkness, but the darkness didn't last much longer as a light was flipped on.

"GAH!"

He grabbed his eyes when the lights turned on, and his darkness was ended. He couldn't move, and he couldn't escape the light that flooded the room. It hurt him to stare into the light, and he couldn't escape the light.

"Oh, it seems THIS church was hiding a secret... oh... this is interesting."

He could heard her voice.

He hesitated to open his eyes again as he peeked through his fingers, and he saw a woman was standing in front of him. She was staring at him with interest, and he looked more at her as his eyes started to slowly get used to his darkness being filled with light. She had long black hair, and purple eyes, but what was strange were her wings. She had large, very large, feathered black wings. He stared at her wings, before he looked at the wings that came out of his own back. They were very different than his own wings, the only part of them that was the same was the fact they were both black.

"Naruto Uzumaki... seems the church has been naughty, conducting some devil experiments... and they even abandoned you."

Pain.

She placed a glowing light that formed in her hands next to his container, and he felt the water that he was submerged in start to hurt him. The light that she made with her hands was more painful to him. It hurt his skin, it hurt everything about him as he tried to escape away from her, but couldn't get very far.

"Hahaha, you can't even get away. This is going to be fun. Go on, clap her hands together for me. Do that and I'll stop."

He didn't know what she was telling him to do, just that she was telling him to do something. The pain didn't stop though, even as more people started to gather in the room. More people like her, people with black wings sticking out of their backs.

"Raynare... well hello, what do we have here."

Darkness had been lonely.

Light was painful.

He didn't know what they were doing to him, but it hurt. It felt like his skin was on fire, it felt painful, horrible, and they didn't stop.

He missed the darkness.

He embraced it when darkness consumed his vision again, because he didn't know how long they had been hurting him. He just knew whenever the darkness stopped and the room was filled with light, he was going to experience pain. The pain lasted for as long as they wanted it to last, and they just looked at him with those eyes that spoke about how much they were enjoying causing him pain.

He passed out.

Every waking moment of his existence was pain, horrible pain that refused to go away for as long as they wanted him to be in pain. They felt no shame in causing him pain, and he didn't even know why they wanted to cause him pain at all. Just that whenever they saw he was awake, they approached him and put their lights up against the glass to hurt him even more.

A girl with a purple mark on her cheek entered the room.

She was new, the front of her clothes were ripped and her face was bruised, but she didn't have black wings behind her. She seemed surprised when the lights turned on, and she was given the ability to see him.

"A boy!"

"Heal him, his body won't be able to take much more punishment otherwise. He's a fun toy to play with, can't have him breaking." Raynare grabbed the blond girl by the arm and dragged her across the room. She pushed the girl in front of his prison, before she knocked her fist against the glass.

The sound hurt his ears.

The sound of her practically punching the glass caused him to recoil and grab the side of his head to try and stop the painfully loud sounds.

"Stop, you're hurting him!"

"He's a devil, it's okay to hurt him." Raynare stopped anyway with a shrug of her shoulders, before she pushed Asia closer to the glass. "Heal him Asia, or maybe I'll let Freed finish having fun with you. I can always let him rape you." Raynare threatened the girl.

"Why is he in this glass?" Asia asked as she stepped closer.

She was different.

Naruto looked at her and blinked when she gently placed her hands against the glass, she didn't punch it, and she wasn't making a light that hurt him. Her hands just brushed up against the glass without causing a sound to hurt him. He didn't approach her though, but her eyes weren't the same as the people who always hurt him.

"Don't know, but torturing him is fun, so we can't have him die. Go ahead, heal him, this wouldn't be your first time healing a devil. Come get us when you're done healing him." Raynare left Asia alone, walking away and leaving the room. She turned off most of the lights in the room, so that the only light was coming from the liquid that Naruto was floating in.

There was silence.

The girl rubbed her arm nervously.

"... They've been hurting you... I'm sorry!" She bowed her head low to him and said words that he didn't understand.

She wasn't hurting him.

Her eyes weren't the same, she didn't have the same wings, and she didn't have black hair like them. She had the same hair color as he had now that he was actually looking at her, but then her hands produced light.

Light that didn't hurt him.

His skin started to feel better as the parts that had been boiled off by the light the feathered people produced healed. She placed her glowing hands against the glass, and the water inside that contained him started to glow with her hands, healing his injuries through the glass.

"Sorry?"

"You can talk!?" Asia asked in shock as she stopped healing him, when she heard him say something that was hard to hear through the liquid containing him. She stepped back and grabbed her chest as her heart started to beat quickly, the surprise of him suddenly speaking to her having gotten to her. "... I'm sorry..." Asia went back to the glass and started to heal him again when she saw his face change.

"Name."

"... I'm Asia, Asia Argento."

"Asia." Naruto repeated her name, and he placed his hands on the glass to touch where her hands touched. He was curious about her. "Sorry?" Naruto asked again with a tilted head, not sure what she was sorry for at all.

"They've been torturing you... and they're my allies. I'm sorry about what they've been putting you through. Not even a devil should have to get tortured like this." Asia wiped the tears from her eyes. "... you haven't done anything wrong, and they've been doing so much damage. I'll talk to them, try to get them to start leaving you alone. I promise." Asia promised him, and he just tilted his head in confusion.

"Promise?"

"... I don't know how to explain that, sorry... all healed up... what are you doing?" Asia asked as she saw him extend his hand to the glass. His hand touched the part of the glass where her hand was again.

She felt energetic.

She felt all of her wounds and pain go away, the pain in her cheek healed up as a yellow glow felt his body and flowed through the glass, before entering her body and covering her slightly. Her own wounds healing caused her to step back in shock and touch her cheek, but as she stepped away, the yellow glow on her body vanished. She felt his power leave her body the second that she stopped maintaining a connection to him.

Naruto was asleep.

Asia looked at him, before she noticed that he was just floating in the liquid once more, seemingly having just fallen asleep out of nowhere.

"He... he healed me... a devil healed me?" Asia was just confused as she felt her bruised cheek was all better, she was going to heal her wounds later, but he healed them already. She heard footsteps behind her, and she saw other Fallen Angels.

"Good, he's been healed, once he wakes up I get to go first this time."

"No, I get to go first."

"I haven't gone first yet, so let me have a turn."

Asia was horrified when she saw Raynare's three comrades were all having so much fun talking about the order that they were going to torture this boy in. She covered her mouth in horror when she saw one of them approach the glass, before they started to beat on it hard enough to shake the container.

They woke him up.

Asia's eyes widened in horror when she saw what she saw next.

She had to stop this!
