Chapter 9 - Hostess of Fertility

The prince was about to ask the silver-blue haired beauty her name when he heard a voice from behind him in the distance.

"Hestia, have you managed to recruit anyone into the family?"

From what he heard from his mother, Persephone did not get along with her fellow Olympian gods because of their constant bickering and scheming. She was so fed up with them that when Zeus took her to the underworld, she went there willingly.

„On second thought, in such good company it would be a sin not to try the local specialities" he smiled at the waitress

Ever since Persephone was kidnapped by Zeus, there had been tension between the Olympian and Chthonic gods since then. Hades more than once excoriated Zeus for his ignorance, as Persephone was not opposed to the idea of meeting him. However, in the end it ended well

Syr blushed - "I assure you, no one ever complained about the food."

Despite his heavenly charm, the prince was now in a hurry. Voices, one of which belonged to Lady Hestia, were becoming more and more distinct and the only reasonable place to hide seemed to be the tavern.

„In that case, I think I will succumb to your temptations." smiled the prince.

The girl in the green dress grabbed his hand and led him inside

The interior reminded him of the living room in the house of Hades, but there were two differences. If in the underground it was all about appearance and artistic senses, here it was all about functionality. Wooden tables and benches were squeezed next to eachother. More important difference was the presence of the mortals. The whole hall was packed with them so that one could hardly get through.

"Sit here and i will shortly get your order" said the girl and left.

'Yes it was the best idea to hide here, in a drunken crowd it shouldn't be a problem'. thought the prince.

'Wait a minute, why am I here' Zagreus pondered 'After all I just wanted to ask for directions, there's not the slightest point in coming here. I might as well avoid Lady Hestia by continuing walking ahead then'

The Prince felt that something was wrong, but he did not yet know what.

"So Zeg, would you fancy something to drink or eat?" came up Syr

"Sorry I forgot to ask you your name" smiled the prince, something made her presence feel better

"Syr" she replied "Is this your first time in town? I haven't seen you here before"

The word "yes" came to Zega's lips, but he answered "I haven't seen you either. I got a little lost, You don't happen to know which way to Lord Soma's residence"

Zeg tried to remember the feeling he felt now. On the other hand, was it that important at the moment?

"We have a strict policy here, you don't order, you don't ask" she smiled Syr

"Makes sense, in that case twice the best nectar you have" smiled Zeg silly

Syr giggled "Nectar is unfortunately hard to come by, apparently it's only available in heaven, but you can also quench your thirst with beer"

"So twice one pint each '' puffed out Zeg's chest and winked.

"I'll give you some friendly advice if that's the reason you're looking for Lord Soma, then you should let it go." and disappeared behind the door to the kitchen

Yeah it's never wise to give your life to nectar… NECTAR! This is the feeling, it feels like I've drunk from two bottles of nectar. My mind is clouded and I feel obliged to fulfil the other person's requests. What did I think when I met her? That I sensed a bit of the divine and the name of this tavern was… Hostess of Fertility.

Charm, divinity, and love?

"Here you go" Syr put two beer mugs in front of me

"Care to join?" suggested Zeg

Freya thought it would be a normal day as usual. During the day she had been on the lookout for unique souls from her tower but nothing had caught her attention. So here she was, like every other evening, standing and calling outside the tavern inviting people to visit.

The sun was setting and a crescent moon appeared on the horizon, the streets as usual were illuminated by the magic of crystals that reflected off the polished stones of the pavement.

She regarded this inn as a form of entertainment allowing her to relax. Here she was not seen as a goddess of love but as an ordinary waitress named Syr

How surprised she was when that evening an unknown young man decided to visit her doorstep. It was obvious that he was in a hurry and was not likely to stay long.

What interested her about the young man was not the fact that he had different eyes, but that she could not see his soul, which made him interesting.

She decided to play an innocent prank. When she looked into his eyes she used a charm. Which turned out to be another pleasant surprise. The charm had an effect on him but much less than she had expected.

"It is a long night but I will have to continue my journey soon" said Zeg "Do you know the nearest way to Lord Soma?"

Syr was surprised that despite the charm having worked, the Prince of Darkness wanted to continue his adventure. Perhaps she was looking for someone like him?

Syr sat down and grabbed her pint "You shouldn't have a problem" she took a sip, grabbed her handkerchief and started drawing a plan to get to the place.

The Loki Familia regulars could be heard on the other side.

"If you could have seen your face Lefiya. An adventurer ran out of the dungeon and asked you for help and you said 'AAAAAA' and fainted. We barely managed to revive you while keeping Lady Loki away from you."

"You wouldn't be any better Loga, as if you were snapped out of your trance" Riveria replied

"On the other hand after talking to him I learned a lot of interesting things" she looked accusingly towards Lady Loki

"Hoho, someone got mum's attention" snorted Loki with laughter

"Is it an elf, human or maybe a pallum?" Asked Tione nudging Finn's shoulder

"What did he say to you" Asked Tiona

"I swore I would take that knowledge to my grave" replied Riveria

There was silence at the table and everyone looked at her questioningly, after a moment she realised what she had said and blushed all over

"No! Not what you are thinking of" she shouted and everyone at the table started shouting at each other

Loki looked at the child belonging to her Familia. 'Since Riveria said it was something interesting and that she wouldn't say it until she died then it must be something worth looking at' she smiled.

Time to find this mysterious gentleman.

While Lady Loki was plotting she had no idea that her new object of interest was sitting a few tables away.

"So what was this bloke's name?" she asked.
