[Sequel to Monsters, Inc.] [Abstract] When laughter is used to power up the monster world one can question which type of laughter works best.

"I'm finally in with the cool kids, Mike! Don't blow this for me." Randy had told him. While the Oozmas are thriving in class, Randy's bitter about the Scare Games results and Mike not being his friend. Then, Randy has a terrible accident on campus. While he's recovering, Mike feels bad about how things have turned out between them and goes out of his way to patch things up.

Randall's doing better, with he and Mike enjoying themselves outside campus. But when Johnny comes to belittle them, he comes to see Mike's got buttons he shouldn't push and discovers the hard way that even monsters lower than him shouldn't be messed with, especially in regards to messing with his lizard chum.

Summary: When Randall Boggs stumbles upon Becky Nielsen's bedroom, he's not very shocked to find she's grown up. It had been 19 years since he saw her last, when she was 7, and he was 21. Will Becky fall in love with the monster who used to scare her? And will Randall return those feelings? Set in the summer of 2020.
