Part III of IV of the Desespoir series in the Jarrod and Elizabeth series. All four Barkley brothers are featured as they come to terms with haunting pain and grief from the past.

What will it take for Nick to accept Heath as a brother? Will he lose the chance to find out when Heath sets out on a special errand? A story that grew out of the Whumptober 2021 prompts. It Will be slightly AU because it is not following the series canon, but the characterizations of each should be close to the series.

Jarrod's client wants to divorce his wife, but Jarrod believes the man needs to think about it more so he brings him out to the ranch to do some hard physical work.

A look into the Barkley family beyond the show. This story includes all the characters with a few added OC's, including Sarah from earlier stories. They will experience births, marriages, and deaths and by the end of the story, no one will be the same.

Part II of Désespoir picks up as the family begins a new life in Stockton. The continuation of this Jarrod and Elizabeth saga brings the Barkleys to face great pain, grief, and fear-and begin to heal with the love of family as it should be. Aunt Jane along with Jarrod, Heath, Audra, and Nick will come to terms with unresolved Désespoir from their past.

Ever since I first saw Time After Midnight, I wondered what "freebooter" meant. It only took me 54 years to look it up.

Follows "Solid." Three generations of Barkleys work together to solve the 15-year-old mystery of Jarrod's murder.

My take on a follow-up to "The Iron Box." Someone suggested this story idea. I wrestled with it for a while and finally feel like it's finished. We see the development of the relationship of Nick and Heath and the dynamic of the three brothers.

The title pretty much speaks for itself, however Jarrod did reach out to us to write a parody for him. This story couldn't have happened without the help of JTBGIRL1312 and JJingo!

What might have happened if BV ran another five years past when Richard Long died, and presumably Jarrod died with him? That would move Nick into the role of Big Brother with responsibilities he'd never had before. How would he handle that?

A short, five chapter story, that shows Gene and two of his brothers going in search of answers that would explain why the fourth brother died. No real drama.
