Hello to all the readers. I'm here to bring, a work that maybe can be of your interest. This is a story, from a collection called "Kalosmania", but I want to bring this in particular on English, for being something that very less people think about to do, and I want to show this idea. This is a story about a Pokémon performer, who is not someone we all know, and if you see the cover, maybe you got an idea of what kind of performer is, so, let's get started.

Warning: English is not my home language, so don't judge me, if grammatically, is not what you expect, I do my best, to translate this the best I can.

Chapter 1: Our first encounter.

In a cafeteria in Coumarine City, where one more edition of the Pokémon Showcase was held, two girls were sitting at a table, seeming to be talking very casually.

—Too bad we didn't make it past the first round. —Said one of them, who was a brown-haired girl with brown eyes.

—And I tried as hard as I could. —replied a girl with black hair, which was adorned with a red bow. —We will have to double that effort for the next one, Clarice, otherwise, we will be far away from competing to be the Kalos Queen.

—Changing the subject, Alouette, —said Clarice, opening a new topic of conversation.

—Yes, what do you want to talk about? —asked Alouette, although when she saw that Clarice wanted to talk, a blush appeared on her face, and she made movements that made her look a little nervous.

—Well... You... Do you believe in love at first sight? —Clarice asked, to the surprise of her companion, for it was a subject she never expected.

—Well, I don't particularly. Wait, don't tell me you?

—Well... you could say yes. Days ago, I ran into a guy, I think he captivated my heart, even though our encounter was fleeting. Just thinking about him makes me feel butterflies inside, —explained Clarice, her experience, and what she felt at that moment.

—That's why I don't believe in it, how does someone fall in love like that? Although with how dreamy you are, I don't wonder what you say.

—But I have no doubt, this is definitely love! —Clarice exclaimed, defending what she thought.

—And what was that encounter like? What kind of boy was he? —asked Alouette, about more details of what Clarice was telling.

—I will never forget him. He really was someone handsome, but far from that, he was someone with a very good heart, and too kind. —Clarice began her story, starting to describe this person, from there, she would tell about her encounter with him.

Flashback.

Two days before the present, Clarice was found arriving in the city, ready to face her next Pokémon exhibition, after getting her first princess key in her previous performance.

—All right, what comes next is to rehearse a new routine that will surprise the audience, it will be one more step for the future Kalos Queen! -said Clarice, with a lot of energy and enthusiasm about her goal. —Although, since I'm here, I should take a walk around the city first, before going to the Pokémon center.

As she set out to do, Clarice began to explore as much of the city as she could, and see if she could find anything interesting nearby. 30 minutes later, she found herself in a store, to buy ingredients for Poké puffs, not only because it was a theme of competition in the showcase, but also for her Pokémon.

—Well, first I have to get some flour, it should be there. —Clarice said, and when she reached a shelf with what she was looking for, she noticed a detail, and it was that she was in a place, where she lacked the height to reach. —Really? Well, it's just a matter of making some effort.

As best she could, Clarice stretched to reach the package of flour, but she could not manage to grab it, and when she seemed to manage to grab it, someone stepped in and grabbed the bag.

—Did you want this? —said a male voice, coming from a boy with black hair, covered by a red cap, and brown eyes. He extended his arm for Clarice to take the flour. Clarice was surprised by the gesture; she didn't think that someone who was passing by would help her with what she needed.

—Yes, thank you. —Clarice said, grabbing the bag of flour. For some reason, when she saw his face, she felt her heart pounding.

—No problem, see you later. —said that person, who, after saying goodbye, left the place.

—Yes, see you. —Clarice said goodbye. That chance encounter had left her not only doubts about who he was but also feelings that she had never felt with anyone else. And the more she thought about him, she felt her chest tighten, to the point of hugging the flour bag tightly —Who was he? My chest hurts, is this what I think I feel?

Flashback end.

—That's how we met, and when I thought about it the most, I realized that I fell in love with him. —In this way, Clarice concluded her story.

—What a superficial way to fall in love. —said Alouette, who was skeptical of Clarice's story.

—Oh, how boring you are! —said Clarice, at Alouette's dry reaction.

—Well, do you even know his name?

—No. It all went so fast, and I didn't get to ask his name. And really, I don't know if I'll ever see him again in my life. —Clarice said, with a tone of sadness. Their encounter was so fleeting, that meeting that person again seemed far out of reach.

—How hard it must be to be in love. —said Alouette. Although she had not yet experienced anything close to love, she could understand Clarice's feelings. —Tell me, what would you say to him, if you had him in front of you right now?

—What would I say to him? I would like to tell him how I feel... but I think I would be speechless. —Clarice answered, even though she could express her feelings, it was not something so easy to do. —But I'd rather concentrate on my next showcase, I can't get distracted by that, knowing that I couldn't advance from today's round.

—I guess it was because you thought too much about him that you lost. That's why I don't want to think about love right now, my mind must be totally focused on the exhibitions.

—But if you didn't advance of round either, don't say you did better than me. —said Clarice, who was not amused by Alouette's comment.

—Well, I have to go now. See you, Clarice. —Alouette said, saying goodbye and getting up from her chair, ready to leave.

—Yeah, see you, Alouette.

—By the way. If this can be of any help to you, why don't you try looking for that boy? Maybe he's still in the city.

—You're right! Well, I'll find him, and confess my love for him! —said Clarice, with high self-esteem and determination, who ran out of the cafeteria, in search of that person.

So, during the rest of the day, Clarice dedicated herself to looking for him, everywhere she could, and although it would not be easy, she kept all her hope that she could meet the person, who even without knowing her in-depth, had stolen her heart.

But no matter how much Clarice look for, she simply did not find him, nor in the most crowded places, nor with the help of people, who asked, if they had seen a boy as she described, but the answers were negative.

Falling the night, simply give up, and decide to go back to the Pokémon center, after an exhaustive day.

—In the end, I couldn't find it. -said Clarice, entering the building, disappointed that her efforts had been in vain. —It seems that we will never meet again.

Although Clarice was resigned, she did not pay attention to her surroundings, and when she realized what she had seen, it surprised her, and also excited her.

—It cannot be true, it's him. —Clarice was more than happy, seeing that person, who had wanted so much to see again, and it was her chance, to confess her —"All right, how I'm going to tell him. Oh, I'm so nervous, just trying to get close to him, but I have to."

Clarice began to walk, with small steps, since, because of her nerves, she could not have a more natural rhythm. She could not contain her anxieties, to talk to him again, she felt her heart beating faster, feeling that it could go out at any moment, but her will was stronger, and she could control it, so she had more confidence to approach him.

—Excuse me...

—What's wrong? —After calling his attention, he turned to look at Clarice.

—W-W-W-Well... this... —Clarice couldn't process his words, because of the nerves that dominated her, talking to this person again. —Well... I... I was looking for you, do you remember me?

—Not really, but your face is familiar to me. —he tried to remember, if he remembered Clarice, even though their meeting was quite fast.

—Two days ago, at the store, you helped me with something I couldn't reach.

—Oh yeah. I didn't think I'd ever see you again.

—Well, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Clarice, I'm a Pokémon performer.

—Pokémon performer? —he asked, who, until now, didn't know that term.

—Don't you know what it is? Or do you come from another region?

—Yes, I come from Kanto, until now, I hadn't heard of it.

—I see. Never mind, what's your name? —Clarice asked about the fact that he wanted to know the most about him.

—My name is Ash. And why were you looking for me?

—"So, Ash is his name. Well, it's now or never!" —thought Clarice, now that she knew something more about Ash, it was time to tell him what she wanted so much. —The... the truth... is that I wanted to tell you something very important.

—What is it about? —Ash asked, waiting for what she was going to tell him.

—Ash... I..." —Clarice tried to speak, but her emotions were so out of control, being in a situation, that it was easier to think it than to do it, but she had to overcome her will, over her nerves. —I... I like you!

He had finally said it, and now he only had to wait for Ash's answer, who was more than surprised to hear a confession from a girl he barely knew, everything was so sudden that he didn't know how to react.

—So... What is your answer?

To be continued…

So that's all for this chapter. For being honest, I have a big interest, on write about this kind of characters, and in the original story, where this come from, is for give more visibility, not only the performers, also to other similar characters, that aren't relevant on the anime, but still there, and where I see some potential on it.

I hope I translated this decently, even I used some correctors and checked the grammar, rewriting things, and all that I can, maybe still not perfect, but the best I can do, whatever, feedback is welcome.

A detail about this, is that Ash is traveling alone, Why? I really try to fit this to the canon (This takes place, on episode 59 of XY, (Or 60, whatever, the first Serena Showcase) if you want to have more references about Clarice, Alouette, and other characters, check that episode) But there no way to match everything, so I had to take another way, to make it all work.

And that's all, How many chapters remain? One, or two if is required, this going to be short anyway, and I really want to translate some of my other fics, but translating this was kind of difficult, I don't have many time, and I want to focus on updating the fics on my home language, but more like this, if this works, and have a good reception, the stories from the original source, that I have in mind about these characters, will be translated, all depends on leaving your favorites, and reviews about it. I hope you liked this, I take my leave and see you next time, adieu.
