"I forbid it! There's no room for arguments young man."

"What? This is so unfair, dad! Seriously?" Incredulous blue eyes met furious pair of blue. Despite Naruto's distance, his dad have never denied him before. So why now?

"I'm serious, Boruto. Stay away from that man."

"Father, help me out here a little, will ya? Sasuke is a good alpha. Would you please talk to him?" Boruto turned to sympathetic pair of red eyes, imploring, hoping that Kurama would side with him this time. But the alpha only sighed deeply. Kurama ran his hand through his long crimson locks and looked away, an act of submission to his omega as he bowed despite Naruto's small and lithe frame dwarfed comically by his side. And to Boruto who always respected the man for his towering and domineering physique, Kurama's body language gave it all away.

He's fighting a losing battle with no allies here, and Boruto's heart sank deeper. The only two people he wanted to back him up, to support his decisions in life has now become his greatest obstacles.

In hindsight, he should have seen it coming when it was Naruto who called him to their room. Usually, Kurama's the one who does the disciplining. Naruto's too busy managing their family business apparently. And in the rare moments that he remembers he's an omega and actually has to take care of his children, he's either too permissive with them, or too focused on Menma, his younger brother to really oppose any of Boruto's whims.

He should have known then that Naruto would take the lead in this discussion the moment he swung open the room. Naruto was serious for once, and Kurama wasn't looking at any of them, a rarity considering the alpha's infamous confidence.

"I can't believe this. What gives, you two? Dad, didn't you tell me to find someone who makes me happy?"

Naruto's eyes hardened, what once were stern and collected turned cold and hostile. And Boruto found the look alien, foreign. He's never seen that look on his dad's face before. Naruto was always this warm sunshine that laughs even in the face of conflict. A low growl escaped from his dad's throat and Boruto watched silently as Kurama reached out to his omega's hand, caressing it tenderly in a show of comfort. This relieved the tension somewhat and Naruto's hostility simmered down, replaced by a low chuckle.

"As if…" Naruto began, his voice started low, and shaky and for a moment, Boruto could feel it wavered, but his omega father found his resolve, lips thinning into small yet contained anger. "As if you could ever find happiness with that bastard. As if that damnable teme is even capable of love."

"Language, Naru.." Kurama interjected, but Naruto held up a hand, silencing his alpha. He stood up abruptly and leaned close to Boruto.

"This conversation is over, Boruto. Your age difference notwithstanding, Sasuke isn't fit to love anyone. If I see you with that man ever again, consider yourself… disowned."

This time even Kurama was shocked. Both father and son gaped at the irate omega in front of them.

"Naruto… You can't mean that." The redhead quickly went in between two omegas, unable to bear it any longer. This is obviously getting out of hand. And Naruto is so close to making a choice he'll regret later on.

"Boruto, to your room, please. And Naruto, don't say things you don't mean. You both need to calm down before you two say things you'll regret."

Naruto merely huffed and turned his head away. Kurama quietly led their son outside the room and leaned on one knee. His crimson eyes met surprised and perplexed electrical blue with understanding and concerned look.

"Your dad didn't mean it, kid. Let him cool down, yeah? I'll- I'll talk to him. Just… just go to your room alright?"

"I don't get it, Tou-san. Why is tou-chan being this difficult? It's not like I'm doing anything wrong. I did everything as you wanted. Would you rather that I keep it a secret?"

Kurama shook his head vigorously. "Of course not kit. Naruto just have some… issues that he has to work through. We both love you kiddo. Never doubt it for a moment, alright? I'll talk to him. If you promise you go to your room. Fair?"

"Alright, Tou-san. I will. I hope you know that I won't break up with Sasuke, no matter what. Not even if I have to go against you and Tou-chan. I… wanted him for years, alright? Now that I have him I won't let him go. Please make him understand, tou-san. I really love Sasuke. And I… I don't want to choose between Tou-chan and him." Kurama kissed Boruto's forehead tenderly, in a rare show of affection.

"Hush…It won't come to that… I'm… sure…." Boruto can only look at Kurama's retreating back with uncertainty. The way his father said it lacked his usual strength, as if he suddenly lost all that made him alpha, his commanding power a shadow of its former self beneath the shadow of his own omega. And so, against his better judgment Boruto decided that rather than going to his room, he'd find out just what Kurama and Naruto will talk about behind closed doors. So he slid behind a hiding spot, an entryway to the crawl space beneath the study. He and Menma used to play hide and seek together and they'd often mess around this same spot. But more than that, it has some cracks that allowed them perfect view of their fathers whenever they're working without the men knowing.

He's glad that as an omega, he hasn't grown too large. At least he still fit perfectly in the narrow space. He heard muffled voices at first. And but then, he wished he really hadn't because what followed next is a series of revelations that would turn his world upside down.

"Don't you think you should let it go by now, Naruto? It's been more than a decade now." Kurama hugged Naruto from behind, his hand comforting the other's shoulders with his large hands as he kissed the other's golden hair. "Why should your son have to suffer for your past?" Boruto frowned at the phrasing. There's something odd about it, something that would be confirmed when Naruto snarled, pushing away Kurama's hand as he faced his alpha, eyes challenging back.

"Exactly, Kurama. MY SON! Sasuke and Mine! Now go be a father to Menma. But don't you tell me what to do with Boruto because he will never be yours."

"Naruto…"

"No, Kurama. I won't allow any Uchiha back in my life ever again… I swore to myself that I'm not letting Sasuke near me or my family ever again. I can't let Boruto go through what I did."

"Listen, I know that Sasuke wasn't exactly… kind when you two broke up. But the man has changed, Naruto. And your son is in love with him. I know that you're still hurting. I was there, too, you know. I was with you every step of the way. And I understand your past traumas with the Uchiha quite well. But don't you think this is going too far? Don't drive your son away from you only to push him into the arms of the man you hated. Don't tear your son apart. Please."

Boruto strained his ears, and realized that Naruto's crying now. This had been a day of rarity. First his father was beyond submissive for an alpha. And now, Naruto crying. But on top of it… he ran the conversation through his head and once it sank it, his blood ran cold. Is this the reason why he and Menma look so… dissimilar despite being brothers? Where Boruto had Naruto's sapphire eyes and golden hair, Menma had Kurama's crimson eyes. He never would have thought that not inheriting Kurama's eyes could mean another thing.

It dawned on him why Naruto doted on Menma more. At first, Boruto chalked it up to the fact that he presented as omega whereas his little brother turned alpha. But this explains it. His father is really Sasuke and Naruto hated him for it.

He slowly made his way out of the crawl space and made for his room. He scrawled a quick note before sneaking his way out the window.

Sasuke opened the door to a tear-soaked Boruto. His alpha senses went overdrive straight away as he held the smaller man in his arms.

"What's wrong, Boruto… Why are you-"

"Sasuke…" Boruto began, his voice shaky as he buried his face in the alpha's chest before meeting the other's eyes. "Are you really my father?"

Obsidian eyes widened as he placed his omega on his lap. Sasuke sighed deeply as he kissed the other's forehead.

"I guess it's no use hiding it from you now. Are you willing at least, to hear the full truth from me? I don't know what Naruto told you but…"

"I don't care. I love you and I'd trust you more than I can trust him right now. So please… just tell me."

"Alright Boruto. But after this.. there's no going back. Are you sure?" Sasuke asked and Boruto could see the man's fear through his eyes. And Boruto could tell that Sasuke is afraid too… of losing him, when he finds the truth out.

He gave Sasuke's hand a reassuring squeeze and flashed him a small smile despite his tears.

"Don't worry, Sasuke. Whatever you have to say, I'll stand by you. I promised didn't I?"

Sasuke scoffed. "You know, Naruto promised me that, too. But alright… I think you deserve the truth." Happy that his questions would finally be answered, Boruto got himself comfortable on Sasuke's broad chest and reached out a reassuring hand to the alpha's uncertain ones, a silent promise that he won't walk away no matter what.

"Naruto and I… were childhood bestfriends…" Sasuke began and Boruto listened. "It was a love story as cliché as it gets." Boruto winced at the wistful look on Sasuke's face… a face that's traveling down a nostalgic past. And if this is how Sasuke looks when he's remembering his and Naruto's past, Boruto could sum up in his head that it was a pleasant memory, a memory that he's not sure he wants to uncover but he swore he'd find out the truth, so he'll just have to tough it out whether he likes what he hears or nots.

"We were the envy of everyone, you know. Naruto and I were bestfriends… we became rivals… then lovers." Boruto could feel a twinge of jealousy at that. But he swore he'd listen and so he stilled his racing thoughts and feelings and continued listening.

"I loved Naruto then… Boruto. Much like I love you now. But maybe that was where it went wrong. I loved him too much. I hid him from the world. I was still a young alpha back then and wouldn't know what to do with my feelings… No… I shouldn't hide behind my status as an alpha. But that was how I rationalized it back then. Over time, I grew too jealous… too possessive of your dad. That I became more absorbed in hiding him from the world instead of making him happy. I… You won't like this but I… I chained him in the Uchiha mansion. I wasn't proud of that, trust me. But back then, Naruto was a very mischievous omega. He's one of the most free spirited person I know. And part of me just can't handle the fact that he's in plain view of so many that coveted him."

Sasuke paused for a bit, sensing the discomfort in Boruto as the younger teen looked at him with horror.

"You what?"

"I admit, I caged him Boruto. Sometime after that, he got pregnant with you and I became more and more protective. He tried escaping multiple times, and when he succeeded I never saw him again. I didn't even know if he gave birth to you or not. Just that the sun of my life disappeared."

"And what about me, Sasuke? Do you love me? Or do you love my dad?"

Sasuke drew a shaky breath. "I love you now, Boruto. You must believe me. I didn't know at first that you were my son. When I saw you at the coffee shop that time… I… I thought you were Naruto at first and trust me when I say that at that time, all I wanted was to correct the errors of the past, and I was happy to see you; that maybe I was given a chance to be a better man and alpha. But then I got to know you more and saw how different you are to him. And the more we dated, I realized that I was less anxious with you, less troubled whenever you're away. I can't explain it. With Naruto, I always worry that some other alpha would snatch him away when I wasn't looking. But with you, I'm at ease. That was the moment I decided I've moved on. I realized what we have was healthier than what I had with Naruto."

"That was… what I knew Boruto. Naruto never contacted me after he left the mansion. I only knew you were my son when Naruto came to me last week and told me to stop seeing you."

"That stupid old man." Boruto muttered. Sasuke looked down on him, something was stirring in the depths of his dark obsidian eyes.

"Are you still…. Are you still with me Boruto? I…. I can understand it if you'll leave. I know dating a man twice your age isn't exactly the most appealing. And with what I did to Naruto-"

"Tou-chan is just being stupid." Boruto's voice was louder this time. "Look Sasuke. I don't care what happened in the past. The you who are now, the alpha I fell in love with… that's no longer the Sasuke that existed back then, right? I can feel it. Besides… if you chain me again like you did my dad, I'll introduce you swiftly to my fists."

Sasuke cracked a smile this time. The tension from his body slowly leaving him as Boruto moved up to kiss him on the lips.

"I won't leave, Sasuke. That is if you'll still have me… I mean… I am your son after all." Boruto grinned this time and Sasuke deepened the kiss.

"Well, Naruto didn't exactly give me a chance to be a father to you. So I can't see you that way after all. You're my omega, Boruto. Not my son."

"Good." Boruto replied as he pinned Sasuke's arms beside him. "Because I hate for you to treat me like a kid. I am my own person. I make my own decisions, got it?"

As Sasuke and Boruto laid in each other's embrace, both confirmed their union as alpha and omega. They still have so many questions, so many uncertainties what the future may bring. This whole situation was so messy, so confusing, yet one thing is certain. As they reaffirmed their love for each other, they're sure to face their future together whatever it may entail.

Because in the end, they have each other.

Three months later…

"Are you ready?" Boruto's eyes were shining as he held out his arm.

"Tsk. As ready as I ever can be, Boruto. You have no idea how scary this is… Meeting your parents over dinner…"

"Don't be overdramatic Sasuke. I told you, Tou-san and Tou-chan are cool now. Don't sweat it okay?"

Sasuke drew a deep breath as Boruto pulled him out of the car, led him through the large gates of the Namikaze household and opened the door.

"Tou-chan…" Boruto began and Naruto just smiled at him, ruffling his hair as he turned to the alpha beside him.

"Long time no see.. teme…" Naruto greeted, but as Sasuke looked up to meet the sky he missed for so long, there's no more anger there, no animosity. And he smiled back.

"Yeah… long time no see… dobe."

"That's father to you, Uchiha. If you plan on marrying my son, you would afford me that respect at least."

"Tsk. Whatever… Naruto-touchan. Happy now?"

And Sasuke was relieved to see Naruto's wide and bright smile once more. And when Naruto dragged him inside their bright and warm home, Sasuke knew then that not only had he found his sun again, but his soul felt instantly light, free of the shackles of the past at last.

"Yes. Now come… You've got to taste Kurama's cooking. It's not ramen this time, teme. You'll love it."

As Sasuke took in the warmth, the welcoming atmosphere of Naruto's home, he glanced at his omega, who's teasing his brother Menma about something. And he took in the chaos around him. Sure it was a bumpy ride. It was a long process of healing, of recovery, of having lost and finding.

But this time, he knew that the future is in their hands.

A/N: Err… I honestly have no idea where this came from haha. At any rate, I still hope you enjoyed this weird and strange ride. Feel free to tell me if you hate it or not. And as always, see you in the next one.

And yeah, this will stay a one shot for now but I might come back to this. Until next time!
