Hello there, greetings and all that in between! At last, back in the fanfiction game after many months away and more importantly at least to me, breaking ground into a different fandom this time around with my first ever Amphibia fanfic! It's been something I've wanted to do for so long and I'm very excited about it!
Anyway, so as the summary notes, this is for Sasharcy Week as hosted by Twitter user jojo_bearoo and it's just a simple, fun and sweet little tale of total flower-infused fluffiness involving my favorite pair in the entire world. I wouldn't necessarily call this fully romantic nor strictly friendship, but kind of that space in between them both. Nevertheless as I've already said I do believe it'll achieve the aim of adorableness.
All right, with all that said, enjoy!
"C'mon, Sash!"
Amid a billowing field of flowers lush with color and variety, Sasha watched on as Marcy rushed right past her. The latter giggled with glee, ran around and twirled; basking herself within the blossoms.
Meanwhile, Sasha chose for the moment to simply look on with a small grin on her face and chuckled at the utter exuberance displayed by her friend. Given all they've been through and especially Marcy in particular, it was a relief and joy for Sasha to see her so full of happiness and animation.
"Sasha, what are you doing? C'mon, join me!" Marcy called out, waving her arms around enthusiastically.
"All right, all right, I'm coming!" Sasha shouted in return.
Chuckling again, she began a leisurely pace in catching up with her friend. In the process, a small breeze blew along her away which caused some errant flower petals to land on her hair. She took a couple seconds to shift her gaze up and brush them off.
At same time as that momentary diversion however, Sasha then also heard the sound of Marcy yelping. She quickly looked back over just in time to see the latter tumbling right on down a small hill.
"Marcy?!" Sasha exclaimed.
She hurriedly along to catch up with Marcy who by now rested at the bottom of said hill and knelt down by her side.
"Hey, you all right?" Sasha asked.
Marcy groaned a little, but after regaining her senses, she glanced up at Sasha and gave her a thumbs up plus a goofy little grin and a small laugh.
"Heh...some things apparently never change with you like clumsiness, don't they?" Sasha said with a shake of her head following a laugh of her own. "For all I know you must've been distracted by a butterfly or something like that and then tripped."
"Well, you're not off the mark I guess…" Marcy conceded, grinning at first before shifting her gaze away and a tiny frown forming.
Feeling a little guilty upon seeing this, Sasha reached out and placed a hand on Marcy's shoulder. "Wait, hold on. I wasn't trying to say that like an insult or anything," she explained. "I'm just used to seeing that sort of thing and I guess it's an impulse of mine to make note of it. Sorry about that."
In a flash, the little grin returned on Marcy's face which was reciprocated with one from Sasha as well.
"Still, it never hurts to try in being more careful. The last thing I'd want to see after all you've been through is you getting seriously hurt again." Sasha added.
"Yeah, true, and thanks Sasha." Marcy said with a nod.
They shared another brief smile as Sasha settled down by sitting right next to Marcy and took in the beautiful, tranquil scenery that surrounded them.
Not too long into this relaxing moment, Marcy looked to her right to some of the flowers that were there. She reached out and started picking a couple of them. A couple then became several before an idea would form.
"Hey Sash, what do you think?"
Sasha turned to see Marcy pointing to show flowers populating her hair.
"Uh...cute, I guess?" Sasha replied somewhat ambivalently.
"What do you mean 'you guess'?" Marcy said with a mild laugh. "Granted I can't see how it looks myself, but I'm betting it looks nice enough. And while we're at it…"
Yet another grin formed on Marcy's face while she reached over again to pick out a few more flowers and then presented them to Sasha.
"Huh? What are you doing, Marcy?" Sasha wondered.
"I want to put these in your hair!" Marcy answered with exuberance.
"But why?"
"So we can match of course! C'mon, please?"
Marcy widened her eyes and the bottom of her lip quivered. She also began to whimper a little on top of that.
In past cases of Marcy pulling something like this for the sake of swaying another, Sasha would've likely been blunt about saying how over the top and unnecessarily sappy it would be. But wide ranging adventures in another universe populated by talking amphibians can do a lot to change a girl's attitude and perspective on things. Between that and being wiling to do anything to make her friend happy, it now didn't take much for her to relent.
While also showing a simple smile, Sasha leaned her head forward to allow a very delighted Marcy to carefully place each flower that the latter had in her possession.
"And...done!"
Once she heard Marcy say that, Sasha pulled her head back and the next thing she saw was her friend's eyes light up and letting out a gasp.
"Oh my gosh Sash, you look so pretty!"
"You...you really think so?" Sasha wondered as a small blush formed.
Marcy nodded. "Yeah! I mean, you're already pretty as you are, but it does add to it."
The blush on Sasha's face only got little redder and she also just happened to notice one on Marcy forming while kind of darting her eyes around.
"Well, thanks for that, Marcy," Sasha said. "And I'll admit upon taking another look, you really do look cute with those flowers in your hair. Then again...being cute does comes pretty naturally with you."
With her own blush getting brighter, and a big smile forming, Marcy reached her arms out and put them around Sasha; something the latter was ready to return the favor.
After letting each other go, they returned to simply enjoying the scenery together, now both having decided to lay down on the grass.
Just a couple of minutes after that, Marcy shuffled herself closer to Sasha; leaning against the latter and placed an arm across her stomach. In return, Sasha put her arm around Marcy and pulled in her just that little bit closer. They glanced up at one another and smiled, which was then followed up by some brief giggling from Marcy.
"What?" Sasha inquired after a laugh of her own.
"Oh, nothing…" Marcy said. "I'm just feeling really happy now is all. Sounds simple, but that's the truth."
Sasha chuckled again. "Oh? Well if that's the case, I'm happy to know that you're happy, Mar-Mar. You deserve to be."
"Aww...thank you, Sasha. So do you too." Marcy said with the utmost of sincerity.
She snuggled herself closer against Sasha and in return the latter wrapped her other arm around Marcy as well; both signing contently.
After all the harrowing, intense and emotional things they've been through and witnessed in their adventures in Amphibia, sharing moments of peace, tranquility and indeed happiness alongside someone they deeply cared for with all their hearts was something they thoroughly deserved and to treasure each and every single time.
And there we have it! Like I said from the start, all I was simply shooting for here was a nice little sweet story of bonding between these two and I'd say that may as well have been achieved.
I'll also mention that this isn't the last fanfic contribution for Sasharcy Week that you'll see from me. I've got two more in the works as we speak, so keep an eye out for them!
And with that, I thank you for your time and until the next ones that come down the line, take care!
