"Hello! And welcome to 'Trevor's Study!', The new PokeTube channel talking about Mega Evolution! So, I was thinking, what Pokemon could we start out with? And that's when I realized, why not ask Ash for his Pokemon? Focus on the current champion of Kalos?! So, without further ado we have here the four Pokemon that we can try out with." The short redhead swiveled the camera to show a line up of Florges, Charizard, Lucario and Garchomp. They were presented by an excited Mairin thrusting her arms at them like it was a TV show while Alain waved to the audience. "Unfortunately, Greninja could not attend because only Ash can evolve her, and Ash couldn't make it. But we shall work with what we have. First up is the iconic Charizard." The Flame Pokemon stepped forward and roared as he breathed a stream of fire. "Now, what we already know is that it breathes fire hot enough to melt boulders, the flame on its tail grows hotter with experience, and never fights a Pokemon it considers weaker. But what's most relevant is the fact the average Charizard can fly up to about 1,400 meters! That's about 2,100 times my height! But based on the appearance of his Mega form, it could possibly do better. You ready?" Trevor asked the fire/flying type. Pulling a key stone out of his pocket, he touched the stone. "Mega Evolve!"
As the transformation started, he became sleeker in appearance. He grew three pointed horns on the back of its head, the middle of which is longer. His snout now has larger fangs and a ridge on the nose. His neck is shorter, but his torso is thinner and longer as well. His hands are now less developed, with extremely shortened fingers that are no longer separated from each other. Small wings develop on his wrists, while the ones on its back become larger, lose the wing finger passing through their membrane and end up with ragged edges. The back of his tail has a large spike at the base and three smaller ones near the tip, which now burns with a longer flame. Ash's Charizard roared an even more powerful flame as the sun shined brightly.
"Wow, now that's a sun that I'd like to get a tan under!" Mairin laughed, along with Chespie.
"Indeed, thanks to his Drought ability. After making some modifications, I have updated the Pokedex to create new information for each Mega Evolved Pokemon it scans. For example." Letting the newly updated Pokedex scan Charizard Y, it read,
Charizard Y, the Flame Pokemon: Its bond with its Trainer is the source of its power. It boasts speed and maneuverability greater than that of a jet fighter.
Now, keep in mind that while this is live, we have made prior preparations. Such as..." An actual fighter jet roared across the sky, in which the fire/flying type gave chase. Going over to the camera to aim it at the two flying things, Trevor continued to speak. "As we can see, Charizard despite not having a 'running start' so to speak, is having an easy time catching up. And when the two do tricks, Charizard is showing that whatever the jet does, he can do better." Upon touching down after a race with a jet, the Flame Pokemon gave a good roar as he reverted back to normal. "Now, that was cool, and getting to see a shiny Charizard in action for the first episode is pretty sweet, but we actually have another evolution of Charizard. Alain?" Said trainer brought out his own regular colored Flame Pokemon, and with his brand new, all his own key stone, he told it to Mega Evolve.
As Mega Charizard X, his body and legs become more physically fit, though his arms remain thin. His skin turned black with a sky-blue underside and soles. Two spikes with blue tips curve upward from the front and back of each shoulder, while the tips of his horns sharpen, turn blue, and curve slightly upward. His brow and claws are larger, and his eyes are now red. He has two small, fin-like spikes under each horn and two more down its lower neck. The finger disappears from the wing membrane, and the lower edges are divided into large, rounded points. The third joint of each wing-arm is adorned with a claw-like spike. Alain's Charizard roared blue flames when the transformation was completed. Giving the Pokemon a quick scan, Trevor's Pokedex said,
Charizard X, the Flame Pokemon: The overwhelming power that fills its entire body causes it to turn black and create intense blue flames.
"So, it's possible that whatever fire that's in Charizard X has both changed his skin color, and made his fire burn hotter. It's been recorded that Charizard's flames burn at an average of almost 2000 degrees Celsius. Let's see how much hotter Charizard's flames are." Aiming the camera at a target which was on a thick concrete wall, Alain pointed at it.
"Charizard, Flamethrower!" Spewing out a stream of blue fire, Trevor recorded the temperature at a same distance while watching the fire not just burn the target, but melt through the concrete easily and hit some of the scenery.
"Ah! Too much fire! Fire!" Mairin cried out as she picked up Chespie and ran to call the fire department. However, that wasn't necessary when Garchomp went and used Brick Break on the ground near the fire to cover it with as much dirt and rock as possible, turning any flame into embers which it was helping to snuff out.
"Mairin, the fire's out!" Alain called to her. "Sorry Trevor." The trainer tried to apologize, but the short redhead was ecstatic.
"Are you kidding?! Although that outcome exceeded our safety wall, check this out! 3,400 Celsius! That's hot enough to melt Tungsten! No wonder it easily melted through a solid meter of concrete!" Noticing the camera, Trevor chuckled nervously. "Sorry folks, we'll have to continue this pilot after fixing the damage and reevaluating fire procedures in the event this possibly happens again. See ya!" Trevor went to the camera to end the video.
A/N: Pretty neat concept huh? It was something hinted about at the end of Ash XYZ, and now we're going to cover not only official Mega Evolved Pokemon, but Mega Evolved Pokemon I've ever used and haven't had the chance to yet. If there's a Mega Evolved Pokemon you want me to cover that doesn't already have a pokedex entry, come up with your own and give me suggestions. Some potential candidates can either be the list of Mega Evolution stats I've sprinkled throughout my XYZ chapters, or Pokemon that belong to your favorite gym leader in the games/anime. Just keep note that I only do Pokemon with stats of 500 or higher. Mega Evolution isn't going to help something like a Spinda, Delibird or Luvdisc due to how weak their base stats are. On the note though, I do need help though. Can one of you come up with an entry for Mega Florges? The regular ones talk about gaining power from exquisite flower gardens and giving castle domains new gardens, and I'm not sure where to take that in the Mega direction. I would really appreciate the help. I hope this story works well for you good readers.
