Episode 1: A Diary, a Gamer Driver and a Magic Key for Luz (I)

Chapter 1: Luz Noceda Welcome to Gravity Falls.

POV Narrator

'Summer has always been my favorite time of year for me.

It's all sunny and warm, no school and I can stay up late watching Anime or reading my books.

I can do whatever you want during the summer without fear of being found weird by your classmates because I'm not around.

Anything is possible during the summer, even being chased by three monsters who want to take you out. '

These were the thoughts of Luz Noceda as she pushes the accelerator pedal of her vehicle to the maximum, passing it through a huge billboard that says: Welcome to Gravity Falls.

Behind Luz are two other passengers, a pair of 12-year-old twins who are screaming as the vehicle lands on all four wheels, without being damaged too much.

'My name is Luz. The girl who's going to throw up is Mabel, the guy who's taking pictures is Dipper, the two of them are my first friends since I got to Gravity Falls. ' Luz thought, taking a quick look at her friends, verifying that they are fine and have not fallen out of the vehicle.

Suddenly you have both sides of the golf car two adults appeared driving their own vehicle out of the ordinary.

"Luz, once we finish this adventure you will be grounded for a week!" A man dressed in some sort of blue and black superhero armor shouted as he drove a futuristic looking motorcycle.

"Calm down, Doc, we have a Bugster, a bat demon and a bunch of gnomes to face. We'll be done before dinner." Said a woman with a long, wild lock of silver hair, dressed in a red dress as she flies thanks to her magic staff.

'The superhero on a motorcycle is my guardian for this summer and also an old friend of the family.

The witch is Eda, my teacher who has to teach me magic. ' Luz thought, feeling relieved that the big boys of the Human World and Demonic World have arrived, which means that the chances of being devoured have dropped dramatically.

"They're getting closer!" He warned Mabel, turning to see the figure of an ugly giant, a flying monster with some kind of humanoid creature on it.

"Accelerate! Accelerate!" Dipper yelled, not wanting to see what will happen if the monsters catch up with him.

"Eda, concentrate on bringing the bird down, I'll take care of its pilot." The rider said, before accelerating and sprinting forward.

"I'll help you, but you owe me a dinner with all the trimmings." Eda said, flying high into the sky, drawing a magic circle, preparing to cast a spell.

The vehicle swerved sharply as Luz tried to avoid a fallen tree, and all three teenagers screamed again.

'Everything is starting a few days ago.' Luz thought, having a flashback of all her actions leading up to this moment.

XXX

A few days in the past.

"And this is the end." Luz Noceda said while holding a Good Witch Azura Action Figurine in her right hand and holding a live snake in her left hand.

The girl named Luz Noceda is a fourteen-year-old Dominican-American with tanned skin, short dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

Her attire consists of a pair of black earrings, a white and purple hoodie with cat ears attached to the hood, denim shorts, dark gray leggings and a pair of white slip-on shoes.

"The end of what?" He asked a 36-year-old adult woman with tanned skin, dark brown hair pulled back in a bun and light brown eyes. His attire consisted of a medical uniform with thick red-rimmed glasses and stud earrings on both ears. Her name is Camilia Noceda, Luz's mother.

Meanwhile, the principal of Luz's school remains silent and looks at the situation, with a tired and tired expression.

"My report on the Good Witch Azura book. Personally I think I've done an A + worthy job." Luz replied, with a smile on her face, seeing nothing wrong with what she did.

"Luz, your book report is why you are here." Said the unnamed headmaster, pointing to his office door window showing a gruesome sight.

A flood of his classmates are running around in panic as they are chased by several dozen snakes.

"Oh. That's where the backup snakes were." Luz commented, with an embarrassing look, finally understanding why she was called by the principal's office.

"And what would you have done with this?" Camilla asked, pulling out Luz's backpack, crammed with fireworks and a large number of firecrackers.

"It was for Act 3, I wanted to replicate the grand finale perfectly." Luz replied, in a defeated tone, sure she is in big trouble with her mom now, snakes can be excused in some way because they aren't poisonous or aggressive.

But fireworks that can easily start a fire are a completely different story.

"Mija, I love your creativity, but it got out of hand.

Do you remember why you were sent to the principal's office the last three times? "Camilla asked, making Luz remember her previous accidents.

"We all love you to express yourself, but if you can't learn to separate fantasy from reality, you may need to spend your summer here." Camilla said, sternly, not wanting to do this, but it's all for Luz's sake.

Camilla handed Luz a booklet, with Reality Check Summer Camp written on it.

"Mom, you can't send me here! I don't want to go to summer camp." Luz protested, in a panicked and slightly frightened tone, dropping her Action Figurine and the snake, which crawled out to bite the janitor or another person.

"So, I like things different from other kids. That doesn't mean I should be sent to a field that displays red flags with a slogan like 'Think Inside The Box'. Please don't send me there." She pleaded with Luz, joining her hands and making the biggest sad puppy eyes.

"This place will teach you all kinds of things you can use in real life like balancing checkbooks and ... enjoying public radio." Camilla said, trying and failing to reason with Luz, not finding truly positive qualities in her proposal.

"But I don't like that stuff, Mom! I like tweaking anime clips into music and reading fantasy books with twisted backstories." Luz stated, voicing her major interests and pastimes which are things most nerds and otaku do.

"I'm not saying you have to give up all your interests, but your fantasy world is holding you back. Do you have any real friends? Real ones, not drawn or imaginary or reptilian." Camilla asked, hating to bring up her daughter's non-existent friends card.

Luz tried to think of an answer, but she knew her mother was right that her behavior was off-putting to her classmates.

Luz has sincerely tried several times over the years to make friends, which is why she tried to join the drama club or cheerleading team here.

Too bad Luz's unbridled enthusiasm, combined with her almost obsessive interests in The Good Witch Azula and her Lovecraft-like tastes have alienated and scared most of her peers.

"I still don't want to go to this camp. How could I make friends with the children who would be forced to go there?" Luz asked, making a valid point, a girl like Luz can make friends in a place where all "problem children" are forced to hang out against their will.

The nameless headmaster, tired from the long school year, just wanting to finish the day and go home to rest, decided to give an alternative so he doesn't have to witness a long mother-daughter argument.

"Mrs. Noceda, when I was young and carefree too, I ended up in my share of trouble.

My parents made me take a summer job from my aunt to make me more responsible, I learned some life lessons, met my wife and got enough dreams to buy a motorcycle. "The unnamed principal spoke, in a nostalgic tone. , recalling with pleasure his golden times of youth.

Camilla's brain stopped for a moment, processing this new option for her daughter's well-being.

'Summer camp I admit is too strict an option for my taste.

A summer job sounds decided times better, Luz could learn to become more responsible and keep her feet on the ground.

But who would be willing to take Luz and keep her for three months? ' Camilla thought, pretty sure that few in town would hire the girl who brings live snakes to school.

A light bulb went off in Camilla's head, reminding of the existence of a willing person she trusts enough here to keep an eye on Luz.

"Sure I can arrange something for Luz, I just need to make a phone call." Camilla said, pulling a postcard reading Gravity Falls out of her bag, turning it over to reveal a phone number and a message: Anything for my old friend's daughter.

XXX

A few days later.

Luz sighs in sadness, as she verifies that she has taken all of her personal items, not wanting to be halfway to Oregon to find that she has forgotten her The Good Witch Azula books.

At the moment Luz does not know how to feel about her situation, thanks to the advice of the principal, her mother was convinced to give up the Summer Camp.

On the other hand, she will be forced to spend her entire summer working in a clinic in another state and living with a stranger for three months.

Her vivid imagination and some anxious feelings are troubling Luz's little head.

"I have my little one, I will miss you so much." Camilla said, coming out of the house to give Luz a big hug.

"Are you sure I can't work in a nearby bar or stuff, I'm slightly nervous living three months without you." Luz expressed, having never been away from her home or without the presence of her mother at hand.

"This is for your own good, it will be an experience that will help you grow.

Don't worry, you may not remember, but Dexter used to visit us quite often when you were little, I wouldn't trust anyone I don't trust here. "Camilla said, knowing her daughter is slightly anxious about the journey away from home.

"See you in three months, I will miss you very much." Luz said, hugging her mother tightly as the bus arrives.

XXX

After a long bus ride, Luz has arrived at her destination.

Looking from the Luz he can see Gravity Falls, a small valley town with small shops clustered in a circle surrounded by a large forest.

"Okay, Luz, just like Azula in the first volume you are starting a great journey that will lead you to fulfill your destiny. You just have to go down and get to know this Dexter." Luz murmured, slightly anxious for acquaintances, an old family friend from here remembers nothing.

Taking her bags, Luz got off the bus, starting to look around at Dexter's sight, preparing to make a phone call to her mother to ask how Dexter looks or get an address.

Luckily no phone calls were needed, besides Luz in the bus station there are only two people, a tired looking man and a smiling Asian woman holding a yellow sign with Noceda on it.

The man has incredibly pale skin, he seems to be in his early 30s, very tall, somewhere around 180 centimeters in height.

The face is pretty pretty, sweet line, heart-shaped face.

Too bad his facial features are clouded by pale skin and deep dark circles under his pale blue eyes.

His short dirty gray hair is completely disheveled as if he had just woken up.

He wears black trainers, black pants, with red stripes on top, black leather gloves.

The only colorful dress that shows some life is a light yellow sweater with a chibi design of a video game character on it.

Over the sweater of things possible things wears a white winter coat, decorated with a large number of pockets and zippers.

Finally, at his side that a large yellow shoulder strap decorated with a red cross and various chibi characters.

'Does this person know that it is summer and not winter?' Luz thought, slightly worried that the doctor needs a doctor.

The Japanese woman accompanying the tired and sickly looking man has a completely opposite aura.

The woman appears to be in the latter half of her twenties, hair and eyes castles.

The woman is very beautiful with a big smile on her face, giving off a lively and cheerful aura.

She wears a nurse's dress with a yellow sweatshirt over it that resembles the Mickey Mouse of Japan aka Pichaku.

"Hi, are you Dexter by any chance?" Luz asked, in a slightly embarrassed tone, not knowing what to expect from a weary man who seems dressed for winter or autumn.

"You guessed it, I'm Dexter Mercer. It's you definitely are Luz or a girl who looks terribly like Camilla." Dexter said, in a tired tone, pulling a chocolate donut out of his shoulder strap.

"The last time I saw you you were a little thing of two feet. Now you are a girl who looks a lot like your mother, only less fat, less ugly clothes and a girlish hairstyle." Commented Dexter, taking a bite of the chocolate donut.

"It's not nice to talk about someone's mother like that." The Asian woman replied, giving Dexter a not too carian look than simply ignoring the woman.

"Why on earth are women so sensitive to their weight. In the end everyone gets fat with age, spending time on a thousand diets is just a waste of time and happiness.

I am a thousand times happier and more sincere with a donut than any nutrition and yoga freak. "Dexter said, with a small smile, finishing his chocolate donut.

"Do you want a donut?" Dexter asked, pulling a small box of donuts from his shoulder strap, handing them to Luz.

" Thanks so much !" Luz exclaimed, grabbing a regular sugar-coated donut, appreciating the free sweets.

"Welcome to Gravity Falls, my name is Asuna Karino, I'm Dexter's friend and we will certainly see each other often." Asuna declared, greeting Luz cheerfully.

"Friend is a big word, you are just the only nurse in the world good enough to be able to assist me properly at work." Dexter commented, handing the box with donuts to Asuna.

"Dexter, if you keep doing this no woman will marry you. Saying bad and good things at the same time confuses people." Asuna said, with a slight blush, taking a strawberry donut, having no problem with Dexter's speech.

"You are such a bizarre couple." Luz exclaimed, amused by the interaction of this couple.

"We're not together, like a real couple. The two of us are ... just good friends, even if the Tsundere on my right doesn't want to admit it." Asuna replied, playing nervously with her fingers.

"As fun as it would be to lose the whole day to see yourself making a fool of yourself in front of new people.

I've finished my chocolate donuts and Luz has made a long journey here, so let's go home. "Dexter said, grabbing Luz's bags and walking to a camper… one of a kind.

The right side of the camper is neon yellow, decorated with musical notes of various colors, pink wheels.

The left side of the camper is dark blue, with flames painted on the right side, the wheels are dark red.

In front of the camper on the hood are two chibi designs that look like they are ready to fight each other, a red-haired idol in a yellow dress and a hero in red and black armor.

"I've never seen such a car." Luz exclaimed, in a surprised tone that someone could decorate her car this way. Batman's enemy, Harvey Dent aka Two-Face would have approved of the design.

"Thanks, I decorated the left / right side." Dexter and Asuna responded, appreciating Luz's compliment on their car decorations.

Once inside the camper, Luz looked around, having never been in a camper before.

Three seats forward, a well-equipped mini kitchen to the right, with small tables and armchairs in front.

A door that probably leads to a small bathroom.

After all there are a couple of bunk beds.

"Why do you have a camper?" Luz asked, curious about the Camper's existence, don't Dexter and Asuna have a house to stay in?

"Campervans are the best cars possible, all the comfort of a home and the ability to take you wherever you want to go." Dexter said, putting Luz's bags in the back of the RV, then going to the fridge to get some fresh smoothies.

"In addition to Dexter's preference, we have had to make a lot of business trips over the years, so it's more convenient to have a camper." Asuna explained, getting into the driver's seat and turning on the engine.

"Finally we work late sometimes. Once we're tired and dead, driving all over Gravity Falls to get home in the middle of the night is annoying. It's easier to get in and sleep in the RV beds." Dexter said, handing some smoothies to Luz and Asuna who took a sip before leaving.

" Thank you." Luz said, accepting the strawberry-flavored drink, having a feeling that Dexter is a person with a great sweet tooth.

"Luz, do you by any chance like Japanese music?" Dexter asked, sitting down across from Luz.

"I like music, I've listened to my favorite Anime theme songs hundreds of times. Why are you asking?" Luz asked, curious about Dexter's question about his musical genres.

"You'll find out very soon." Dexter replied, turning her head to Asuna who inserted a CD into the radio before starting the Camper.

A beautiful melody has come out of the radio and Asuna starts singing like a pro.

(Three!) ... just got to live! "Asuna finished singing and at the same time the car stopped.

" It was amazing!" Luz shouted, throwing her hands up in the air, loving to hear Asuna sing.

"You are sure you are a nurse, because you can sing better than pop stars!" Luz exclaimed, starting to like Asuna, instead of an ordinary and boring nurse, she has proved to be a unique person of her kind.

"I'm not that good." Asuna replied, in a shy tone, not used to receiving such a response from her music.

"Ridiculous, Asuna you were born to sing and dance, it's your innate talent.

If I remember correctly, you once told me that you dream of becoming an idol or a professional singer. "Dexter commented, recalling an old discussion with Asuna about what to do once work is done in Gravity Falls.

"This is a great dream to fulfill, but I believe you will succeed." Luz declared, very sure that if Asuna with her beautiful voice can make this dream come true.

"Instead of talking about me, we can go down and enter the house, lunchtime is approaching and I want to prepare something special." Asuna replied, inventing an excuse to avoid hearing Dexter's rare compliments that make her blush.

"We have already arrived !?" Luz exclaimed, surprised that only one song was needed to get to our destination.

"Maybe it's a spell, a special ability, or yet another weird Gravity Falls phenomenon, but when Asuna this car makes it through town in just three minutes or long enough to finish her song." Dexter commented, taking Luz's bags and getting out of the camper.

"Yet another weird Gravity Falls phenomenon? Is this town cursed or something else?" Luz asked, in an excited tone, recalling one of her many books in which a teenager ends up in a new city apparently normally.

But in reality it turns out to be full of mysteries and plots to be solved by a group of young detectives.

Asuna, Dexter and Luz got out of the camper which was parked on the lawn.

Dexter and Asuna's house is located on the outskirts of Gravity, having no neighbors, only the forest behind the house and an unpaved path in front.

A large three story house, western style designs, but most of all it is as unique as the car and its inhabitants.

The left side of the house is painted yellow, oval windows with flower pots in front.

The right side of the house is painted blue, square windows, with strange metal figurines in front of it in the shape of animals.

'I wonder what they do to decorate the house for Christmas and Halloween?' Luz thought, quite sure it would be a sight to behold as Asuna and Dexter decide how to decorate the house for the holidays.

"This small town has a huge amount of urban legends and rumors about the mysterious dangers of the forest.

My advice for avoiding all sorts of local problems is to stay out of the forest, get home before the sun goes down and avoid the owls. "Dexter said, in a tired tone, especially when he mentioned the owls.

"Avoid the owls?" Luz repeated, believing she had heard wrong, why should owls be avoided at any cost?

"The owls in this town are brought with doom and a warning that you will be robbed or deceived by the strange local witch." Dexter replied, recounting why owls are a bad omen.

"Local witch, like an evil old woman who hates everyone or a woman with a magic staff, surrounded by strange animals and making potions?" Luz asked, becoming incredibly interested in the mention of a witch in Gravity Falls.

"Oddly, the second description is the closest to reality." Commented Dexter, pretty sure the witch has several weird animals.

"Can you tell me where I can find this witch !?" Luz asked, wanting to meet the witch, not hoping to meet a real magical witch, but this is the most interesting thing at the moment that stimulates her imagination.

"I wanted to give you the city tour after lunch or tomorrow after you've rested properly. But if you insist so hard." Dexter commented, in a tired tone, putting down Luz's suitcases and using them as a makeshift chair.

"Here is a brief overview of the places that might be of interest.

To the northwest half an hour's walk or five minutes by car is the Mystery Shack, a tourist trap, with false attractions about the paranormal and the legends of Gravity Falls.

It's run by Stan Pines, a miserly, charismatic old con man with a silver tongue and a hidden heart of gold. "Dexter said, pointing his hand to the left, in the direction of the forest.

"You speak well of an alleged scammer." Luz commented, sure there must be something to earn the moniker of heart of gold.

"Stan aka The Mysterious Man, has been my patient several times over the years. For reasons that I don't cover, Asuna considers him a kind of surrogate grandfather so he visits us from time to time for dinner or to have a poker night." Dexter replied, saying how he comes to know Stan personally.

"By the way, a few days ago, Stan's great-grandchildren, a pair of twins named Dipper and Mabel, arrived in Gravity Falls.

Surely the old miser did not tour the city properly you have grandchildren. Do you get mad if we do a group tour today or tomorrow? "Asked Dexter, wanting to do something nice for Luz and the twins and not just to avoid doing two separate tours instead of one.

"It would be nice not to be the only new kid in town. But first tell me about the local witch." Luz replied, with a second's hesitation, hoping that not being the only new girl sent to stay with relatives for the summer allows him to make friends or at least polite acquaintances.

"To the Northeast for an unspecified time of walk is the elusive The Owl House. Some lumberjacks say that on flat moon nights, they see a house with chicken legs walking through the forest." Dexter said, pointing to a inaccurate area right in the heart of the forest.

"Like Baba Yaga in Slavic culture, a witch who lived in a hut usually described as standing on chicken legs." Luz said, mentioning an interesting little fact about a popular figure.

"The alleged Baba Yaga of Gravity Falls is called Eda or The Lady Owl, every now and then she goes to town and makes all sorts of inexplicable messes.

Sometimes her annoying pets come here and rummage through my trash or make puppy eyes at Asuna to get some food in the house.

There is a story between Stan and Eda that I don't want to go into, but a lot of times I see them plotting a scam to earn money or arguing with each other. "Dexter explained, giving a brief overview of the character of the Owl Lady.

"Do all the inhabitants of Gravity Falls have a cool nickname for themselves and their homes? Are you Doctor White and your house is called Gates of Purgatory?" Luz said, trying to guess what kind of nickname Dexter would have using his craft as the basis of the titles.

"In reality only a few dozen individuals in Gravity Falls have this habit, the most interested are Stan, Eda, Nico and Taiga, Hiiro, Kiriya, Kuroto." Dexter said, mentioning local celebrities who have a stage name.

"Dexter, Luz, don't waste any more time with your stories and help me set the table!" Asuna yelled, her voice came out through the open window from the kitchen.

"For your information I am known as the Genius Maker and my home is nicknamed the Gemu Box." Dexter stated, taking Luz's bags and running to the Gemu Box, not wanting to delay lunch or anger Asuna.

"Does that mean I have to be nicknamed Luz, the Witch Witch?" Luz asked, coming up with a cool title for herself on the spot as she chases Dexter.

"If that makes you happy, do it, but I don't promise you won't get some weird looks." Commented Dexter, letting Luz decide whether or not to use this nickname.

Upon entering the Gemu Box, Luz noticed that fortunately the place is not bipolar like the outside.

The ground floor has three parts divine, an area for putting on shoes and learning clothes for outside, a large living room and a kitchen.

The kitchen was certainly furnished by Asuna, having the walls painted in warm pastel colors, wooden floor and wooden furniture painted yellow, clocks in the shape of animals hanging on the wall and the presence of a radio with a cat design.

The living room has walls painted in cold and dark colors, an Italian black leather armchair, flanked by two white leather sofas.

In front of a wall made up entirely of dozens of televisions of different models. Some of the newer video game consoles stand proudly on a coffee table, flanked by a library of fantasy and dance video games.

The strangest thing of all is a Christmas tree, a real Christmas tree is located in a corner of the living room, with about ten suitcases of pastel colors underneath.

Luz throws a slightly concerned look at Dexter who is carrying his suitcases upstairs.

"Does Dexter realize that summer has just begun and Christmas isn't coming?" Luz asked, not knowing how to react to a person who has been preparing the Christmas tree since summer.

"I honestly don't know why Dexter keeps a Christmas tree in his living room 360 days a year.

Personally it has not brought me any problems, every end of the month I receive a small gift, a New Year's Eve dinner from him and the permission to sing from dawn to morning. You get used to it quickly. "Asuna replied, talking about the positive parts of Dexter's behavior.

"If there are people who are crazy about Halloween, Valentine's Day or birthdays, it means that there are people who are crazy about Christmas." Luz said, shrugging, knowing she can't judge Dexter for loving Christmas too much, Luz herself has been doing stranger things throughout the year.

"Luz if it's not too much, you can wash your hands and set the table." He asked Asuna, wanting a little help in the kitchen because Dexter is currently busy carrying Luz's suitcases to the third floor.

"I'll drive you right away." Luz answered, used to helping her mother in the kitchen.

XXX

About ten minutes later Luz, Dexter and Asuna find themselves sitting at the table eating.

"I wondered one thing, if you are a doctor, why are you nicknamed Genius Maker?" Luz asked, slightly curious about the origin of the nickname, having some conversation at the table.

"I am a doctor, specialized in laboratory medicine, the sector of diagnostic medicine that extends the investigation of the patient through the study of biological material coming from the same, transferred to the analysis laboratory." Dexter said, giving a brief overview of his medical specialty.

" Very interesting." Luz lied, not wanting to insult Dexter or his profession, she may be an eccentric person, but she remains a doctor who deserves some respect.

"Do not lie, it is certainly a boring thing for young people, I practically study various samples to understand what the patient is suffering from.

Luckily I have a couple of side jobs that you will enjoy, in my spare time I am a game designer and a decent inventor.

In fact, I'm more famous and respected as a game designer than a doctor, so I've been nicknamed Genius Maker. "Dexter explained why he earned that nickname here.

"You invent video games, tell me what kind of video games you have invented over the years!" Luz asked, wanting to know all about the video game developer profession.

"So far, I haven't invented any video games that are entirely my own.

I have a consulting contact with Genm Corp, who made me work with Kuroto Dan in designing some games such as: Mighty Action X, Taddle Quest, Bang Bang Shooting, Bakusou Bike etc. "Dexter explained, listing some of the video games with here offered advice.

"Does that mean I have to help you with video game design for the summer !?" Luz exclaimed, in a tone full of happiness, finding that her summer job won't be a boring thing in a medical clinic.

"I promised Camilla that I would offer you a roof over your head, three hot meals a day and summer work, she didn't tell me what kind of job to give you.

For me, one thing is as good as another, so I leave Asuna the final grade. "Dexter said, in a tired tone, taking a sip of a glass of water.

Luz turned her gaze to Asuna, casting her best puppy-eyed look, hoping to get the job as a video game beta tester or something similar.

"Luz, I don't think your mom wanted me to spend the whole summer learning how to develop video games." Asuna commented, thinking that Camilla wants to get Luz to follow in her parents' footsteps in the medical.

Asuna's heart nearly broke in two at the sight of Luz's downcast, sad face.

"But what she doesn't know can't hurt her. Maybe we can find accommodation, during the week Luz can help us with small chores at our clinic and during the weekend she can beta test some of Dexter's inventions." He proposed Asuna, wanting to find a compromise to make both Luz and her mother happy.

"It seems like a sensible proposal, for the first few weeks let's try this program." Dexter said, accepting Asuna's proposal without too much trouble.

"If we're done talking about work, can Luz tell us something about yourself?" Asuna asked, wanting to get to know Luz better, because she will have to spend the whole summer with little Noceda and she wants to get along with her.

"I love tweaking anime clips into music and reading fantasy books with twisted backstories." Luz said, giving a brief introduction of what he likes.

"I like video games where the protagonist can make his own choices like Fallout 4, Infamous, Mass Effect 2 and Witcher 3.

I'm a huge fan of sci-fi movies and absolutely adore Doctor Who. "Dexter said, speaking the same language as Luz, recognizing another fellow nerdy.

Luz smiled at Dexter's attempt to get along with her.

The little moment of the happy family gathering at the dinner table was interrupted by the sound of an alarm coming from Dexter's jacket.

The Doctor with the second profession of video game developer has pulled out of the coat, a Smartphone phone with an eccentric design reminiscent of a flying beetle.

"Asuna is an emergency appeared, an orange code, I have to go now!" Dexter exclaimed, jerking up from the table, leaving his tired tone behind.

In less than a minute Dexter drank a two-liter energy drink in one gulp, pulling a strange stethoscope out of the drawer.

"Asuna take care of Luz and don't get it for me, I can handle this operation without your assistance. If I'm lucky I'll see you in a few hours!" Dexter yelled, speaking quickly, running out of the house as if it were a life or death situation.

The noise of a motorcycle running at 100 kilometers per hour could be heard throughout the entire house.

"Do I have to worry or is this something normal for Dexter?" Luz asked, not knowing how to act on such suspicious and alarming behavior.

"Dexter is a good doctor and an even better man, even if he doesn't like to admit it." Asuna replied, stopping eating, losing her appetite when Dexter ran.

"I am more worried about the patient who needs an emergency intervention, normally in such cases Hiiro intervenes, but at the moment he is out of town.

So, Dexter has to take his place for emergencies, the extra work is not good for him, lately he can barely sleep properly. "Asuna said, with a sad face and a dejected tone, worrying about her. intervention that must take place and on Dexter's health.

"Once we're done eating, we can watch a movie or take a walk around town. Dexter mentioned a place called, Mystery Shack, and it intrigues me." Luz said, suggesting different activities to keep Asuna's mind busy.

Recalling her experiences with her mother who overdoes her work in the hospital to pay the bills, eventually hurting her health.

"You're a good girl, Luz, we just met and you try to make me feel better." Asuna said, fondly stroking Luz's head, appreciating Luz's attempt to make her feel better.

Once again the cheesy little moment was interrupted by the noise of a phone call.

Infant nurse brought out an old flip phone that looks like a kitten, clearly loves lovely things.

"Hi Stan, how are the twins sitting down or do you need me to keep an eye on them for a couple of hours?" Asuna asked, talking to Stan who is on the other side of the call.

"Dexter just left the house to solve an orange code. Something happened, do I have to call an ambulance or do you bring my first aid kit?" Asuna asked, with a worried tone, imagined some scenarios in which one of the inhabitants of the Mystery Shack has suffered an accident or worse an abnormal accident that needs a doctor out of the ordinary.

" What did you do!" Asuna yelled, in an angry tone, standing up, having surely heard something very bad to make her turn up.

"I understand that the whole" monsters in the forest "thing is just a local legend, drummed up by people like you to sell merchandise you have tourists.

However, the forest remains remains a dangerous place for a stranger and you sent a 12-year-old boy to plant advertising signs in the heart of the forest without a map or compass! "Asuna shouted, bringing out a fairly rare side of herself. .

'Are all nurses that scary?' Luz thought, remembering the rare moments in which her mother gets angry ... the proverb beware of kind people is true.

"I'm going to give you a hand, but if you try something so reckless again, I'll give you an unforgettable reminder." Asuna said, ending the call on a sour note.

"Sorry you saw me angry, but I can't bear when an adult does something reckless and a child pays the price." Asuna said, apologizing to Luz for showing them her angry face.

"No problem, my mother always says that bottling up your feelings in the long run is harmful." Luz said, recalling some conversations with her mother.

"You could tell Dexter too, if you don't stick his tongue out he won't tell any of his problems." Asuna said, mentioning one of her roommate's negative traits.

"Luz, will you come with me to look for Dipper through the forest or will you stay at home and watch a movie?" Asuna asked, wanting to know Luz's opinion, because she doesn't know if she should or shouldn't take Luz with her.

"I'd like to help you, looking for a missing person in the forest is the kind of little adventure that Azura does at the beginning of her story." Luz replied, wanting to help Asuna, because it's the right thing to do, plus it's definitely more adventures than being alone at home and watching TV.

"Before we go we must prepare!" Asuna stated, starting out she quickly ran across the house grabbing a backpack and filling it with useful items.

"Flare gun, first aid bag, bandages, a blanket, a sweatshirt, a whistle, a Swiss knife, a bottle of water, a pepper spray." Asuan said, listing some of the items she put inside the backpack, acting like a hysterical mother packing her bags.

"You are not exaggerating, we are going to walk in the forest for a few hours, we are not going camping." Luz said, believing that Asuna is panicking.

"Luz, if you live in Gravity Falls you have to learn a very important rule: Better to have brought a set of weird tools and not use them, than not have them and need them." Asuna stated, in a serious tone, glancing at one of the suitcases under the Christmas tree and then at Luz.

"I also take this suitcase for any, you never know what you can find in the forests of Gravity Falls." Asuna said, hesitantly grabbing a black suitcase.

'For a small town, it's a very lively place.' Luz thought, with a growing smile on her face, appreciating the sense of adventure she is gaining from Gravity Falls.

Fifteen minutes later, Asuna's RV pulled into a corner of the forest, stopping in front of a bunch of advertising signs pointing towards the Mystery Shack.

"Luz, here's the plan, we'll split up and look around for Dipper. If you see anything suspicious and weird call me or fire a flare if the phone doesn't work." Asuna explained, getting off the camper, handing Luz the backpack full of lots of junk for all kinds of situations.

"Calm down, Asuna, I've spent my fair amount of time taking walks in the forest near my house ... don't tell my mother, she cares about every little thing." She prayed to Luz, realizing that she had confessed to having taken several walks to a place where she was not allowed to be without adult supervision.

"I won't say anything to your mother, there isn't a teenager who doesn't disobey the rules of a parent. But don't do anything risky, you've just arrived, you haven't even unpacked properly, I don't want you to do anything. bad." Asuna declared, hugging Luz tightly, before letting go of the hug and walking the opposite side of Luz.

"The adventure has finally begun." Luz murmured, pulling a lantern out of her backpack and starting her search.

For a quarter of an hour, Luz walked through the Gravity Falls forest without much trouble.

Certainly this area of the wood is dark, even though it was just past noon, for an unknown reason there is a light fog everywhere, along with the smell of damp and rotten wood.

For a normal person all these details would have created a scary and disturbing atmosphere.

But when it comes to Luz who has a sweet spot for the abnormal and the macabre, all these elements create in her opinion create a beautiful atmosphere worthy of a novel of fantasy and mystery.

Luz just walked around fearlessly, observing the local wildlife, finding this dark forest beautiful.

Little Luz on her walk came to the top of a hill when something made her trip.

Due to this minor injury, Luz rolled down the hill, dizzyingly fast, until she finally stopped at the base.

When Luz stood up, something rustled in the trees.

Luz suddenly felt a feeling of discomfort, a very strange thing for the fan of The Good Witch Azula.

Normally Luz is optimistic and happy in most situations, especially when she is away from school and from people who find her too weird.

The wind began to blow with greater intensity, causing the branches of the trees to sway in the breeze.

The fog in the area has started to drop suddenly.

Luz's common sense sounding amazing as Camilla is telling him to turn around and run away.

Luz's sense of adventure, on the other hand, shouted to go investigate, hoping to discover something unique.

When something perhaps a small forest creature snapped a twig, Luz's survival instincts kicked in and without thinking for a second.

Luz threw her lantern, hitting a nearby tree, causing a clang before falling to the ground

"Did I just hear a metallic sound?

The trees don't make such a noise. "Luz said, forgetting all the nervousness from earlier, replacing it with a feeling of curiosity.

Luz cautiously approached the mysterious tree, reaching out, touches the bark of the tree, discovering that it is not natural, instead it is made of metal.

"Is this some kind of secret hiding place?" Luz murmured, finding that the area of the tree is bounded by a faint square.

Pulling out the Swiss army knife, Luz slipped the blade into the slot, with a little effort she managed to open the hiding place.

Luz saw that inside the hollow of the tree there is some kind of device similar to an old and strange marks.

"This isn't really my Good Witch Azula-style magical adventure, it feels like one of those adventures full of adventure and mystery." Luz said, with a big smile on her face, loving every moment of her discovery.

Out of curiosity, Luz pressed switches one after the other, causing a mechanism to activate.

Hearing a metallic hum nearby, Luz turns to see how a small portion of the surrounding terrain has shifted to reveal a secret compartment.

"This little town is full of surprises, I feel like I'm in episode of Scooby-Doo or House of Anubis." Luz muttered, finding her current situation too much like these two popular series.

Luz approached the secret compartment, finding inside it an old red leather diary bound with gold markings. The most interesting detail in the book is a gold emblem in the shape of a six-fingered hand with the number three painted on it.

Grabbing the book, Luz began reading the first page of the diary, but first of all she took out the eyeglass attached inside, putting it in her shoulder bag.

Luz noted that there is a note stuck on the back cover, but unfortunately the bottom is torn.

"Property of ..." Luz muttered, cursing that she couldn't figure out who invented this.

"It's hard to believe it's been six years since I started studying the weird and wonderful secrets of Gravity Falls, Oregon. '" She read Luz aloud as she flipped through multiple pages of the book revealing images of floating, huge eyeballs. bats, weird codes and more.

"Incredible." Luz muttered, beginning to flip through the studies of various strange creatures and places that have been meticulously documented on many of the full pages.

The Good Witch fan Azula was amazed by the skill in hand-drawn imagery and the obvious excitement that radiated from the pages when the author got particularly animated about something.

Finally, Luz landed on one of the last pages, the one that stands out for the big scribbles at the bottom.

"Do not trust anybody." He read Luz, seeing that the sentence was, underlined several times.

Raising an eyebrow, Luz continued reading the rest of the pages.

"'Unfortunately, my suspicions have been confirmed. They are watching me.' I have to hide this book before I find it. Remember, there is no one in Gravity Falls you can trust. " She read Luz, closing the book, having just earned the MacGuffin of her summer adventure.

"Luz!?" Exclaimed a worried adult female voice.

Luz turned to see Asuna standing behind her, approaching, looking worried, probably fearing she was injured.

"Asuna, look what I found!" Luz exclaimed, forgetting the diary warning on the spot, wanting to share her discovery with something.

"Whoa ... I knew there are weird things in Gravity Falls and its forests, but this is new." Asuna said, as she kneels next to Luz, taking a quick glance at the pages of the diary.

"According to this book, Gravity Falls has this secret dark side, maybe I can find an artifact to become a witch just like Azula." Luz said, joyfully in her voice, loving every second of it all.

"A monster haaaaaaaa!" A little boy's voice rang out across the forest.

"This is the voice of Dipper Luz stay here safe, I'm going to see what happens!" Asuna declared, running full speed into danger, pulling out her phone to call for reinforcements.

Putting the book in her bag, Luz ran in the direction of the boy screaming in panic, chasing Asuna is an easy task thanks to the fluorescent colors of her clothes.

In less than a minute, Asuna and Luz have arrived at a gathering where there is a 12-year-old boy who is being threatened by a real monster.

Keep it going ...
