Chapter 1 ~ The Father

Silco dream is one of many years to build.

It's started, now. Had started many years ago, if he is honest. Of careful plans and prudent deals. With cultivated patience and bubbling need of revenge.

But unlike many he had loved, his sight never left that dream. No matter of betrayal or from that which he returned. No matter cracked memories of the fallen comrades or the blood on his hand.

But none of this had prepared him for this.

He holds his daughter tightly - and he isn't sure whether he's more astounded or horrified knowing this was once the daughter of his greatest betrayer. Of a brother he once so dearly loved.

But what else could he have done?

When she'd cried on him, sobbing incoherently at her sister's abandonment, he hadn't been fast enough to suppress a younger man, just some few days after his brother's betrayal. The memory was far too vivid for him. Memories that had once filled with so much happiness, now creating nothing but terror and hatred.

So weeks later, when she still whimpers at shadows, when she cries as her eyes widen in terror. When she screams herself horse, begging and apologising until her fingers bleed as they claw the splintered floor.

He has long since passed any level of concern. He is terrified of his daughter's state of mind. Quickly realising that she is beyond any level of help he could offer her.

In another world, perhaps, he would helplessly hold her, humming half-forgotten melodies as he gently reassured her.

But this is not that world. His mind - sharper than ever - has already realised that there is someone that can help his daughter. And Silco has already reached a point where he will do anything for his daughter.

Therapists were of a rare sight throughout Pitlover. The idea that Zaun, of all places, would have anyone that could help his daughter was, at best, a laughable idea and, at worst, the cruellest of truths. Let alone that they'd agree. To him of all people.

Only that there is one, he knows. And Silco's mind slowly comes to the terrifying realisation that he's going to have to beg them to receive any semblance of sympathy.

Silco is a man of loyalty. And maybe some find the idea ludicrous. Offensive, even, that Silco would consider himself as such.

But the thing is, Silco has never been a betrayer. He has never been the one to pull the trigger first. Anyone killed that he loved were the ones to shoot first, to stab and ruin him even tho he would do anything to protect them.

But the person he thinks of is one that never betrayed him. Most importantly, it's someone he knows would never harm a child, even one of his own.

The only of once many that carried the title of siblings, and wasn't a corpse that could whisper of tales.

But he had slain Vander. An act of revenge he had so carefully cultivated throughout the many passing years.

And not two weeks later, he found himself cursing his own luck.

But his daughter needed to be saved, and-

And, well, Silco would do anything for those he loved.

Anything, and everything.

Well, that's the intro taken care of! I can safely say I've at least tried putting this on paper.

And yes, in case this was up to question, this was written because of how completely exhausting I find the blame game of the Arcane fandom. Silco leads a criminal organisation, yes, that doesn't mean he's a bad father. Jinx's killed a lot of people, and while by no means is it excusable, people seem all to happy to forget how much trauma she has to go through. PTSD, anyone? And let's not even start with the Vi arguments. Watches most of her family get killed by her sister and probably has a mental breakdown. And yeah, she hit Powder but she also was in her pre-teens. And do you know what she does next? What a responsible adult does after realising what they've done and takes a step back. She pulls back, walks away from the argument to take a breath and figure out how to resolve the problem.

But no. It has to be someone's fault because heaven forbid it just be that they live in cruel times.

Sorry for the rant. Got awfully sentimental on it. This is going to be a therapist tries to help fic where feelings a dealt with and people might actually get to be happy.

Maybe.

None the less, if you felt I should have written something differently, be it personality and/or displays of different states of mentality, please leave a comment! Any advice is welcome and appreciated!

Anyways, Ill See you next time! Ciao!
