So, after seeing the leaked script for the live-action adaptation, my only thought was 'Oh god', it was so bad, however, I do think there were some good things about it. I'm glad that they're changing the entire script for the pilot, but I still decided to write my own version to prove that it can be done better, so enjoy.

In the year 2003, the city of Townsville was being attacked by a three headed monster. The citizens ran in fear as buildings were knocked over. The citizens looked to the skies and were relieved when they saw the green, blue and pink streaks of light. They were the heroes of Townsville, The Powerpuff Girls, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. The citizens cheered as Buttercup flew towards the monster and dealt the first punch, Bubbles was able to disorient the monster with her supersonic scream, before Blossom used her ice breath to freeze it in place. With the monster defeated, the girls took a bow before flying home. Despite most of the support the girls received, there were still people that protested the girls, claiming them to be too dangerous
The girls returned to their home, where their creator, Professor Drake Utonium, who was setting up dinner.
"Ah, girls, you're home, how was the monster?"
"Too easy" said Buttercup
"So, you didn't work up any appetite?"
"I never said that" said Buttercup
The girls sat with Drake as they had their dinner.
==Meanwhile==
In an apartment building downtown, the news covered the Powerpuff Girls' defeat of the monster.
"And once again, the day is saved, thanks to..."
In a fit of anger, the man watching TV threw his beer at the screen.
"Dad, what's wrong?" asked a boy holding a Blossom toy
"This isn't fair, that thief, Utonium stole my research and became famous thanks to those three brats"
"Brats? But they're heroes"
"They're spoiled princesses that think that by stopping some crimes it excuses their own"
In a fit of anger, the dad grabbed the Blossom toy and threw it out the window.
==Ten Years Later==
The girls received cheers as they stopped a bank robbery by Femme Fatale, but the celebration was cut short when the girls where attacked by a giant robot.
"You girls are finished this time"
"Jojo? When are you going to give up?" asked Buttercup
The girls began to fight Jojo's robot, but it proved too strong and the girls were outmatched. The robot fired a rocket towards the girls, which they dodged, but it hit a building behind them, Blossom flew up to kick a large chunk of concrete into the air, where it exploded into fragments and rained shrapnel onto the robot, destroying it.
"No escape this time" said Bubbles
Blossom walked up to the fallen robot.
"You're not getting away this time, Jojo, come out now!" said Blossom
There was no response, Blossom brushed off some rubble from the window and saw it stained with blood, she opened the window and gasped at the sight.
==News Report==
"The city of Townsville was in shock when the supervillain, Mojo Jojo, was killed during a fight with the heroes, the Powerpuff Girls, the incident has caused a huge response from Anti-Powerpuff protestors, declaring the girls to be reckless and dangerous" said the anchor
==City Hall==
The mayor walked up to a podium to give a speech.
"As you all know, I have been a supporter of the Powerpuff Girls since they first turned up in Townsville, they have saved many lives and stopped many criminals, but the incident with the death of Mojo Jojo can not be ignored, as of this moment, the Powerpuff Girls are banned from using their superpowers in the city of Townsville"
==Powerpuff Home==
The girls could not believe everything that had happened, after years of saving the people of Townsville from monsters, killer robots, supervillains and more, one mistake results in so many people turning their backs on them.
==The Next Morning==
Buttercup and Bubbles woke up and went to wake up Blossom.
"C'mon Bloss, wake up, if you don't, I'll read your diary to everyone in school" said Buttercup
No response, Buttercup opened the door and saw that Blossom was gone. The Professor walked towards the girls, looking worried.
"Professor, have you seen Blossom?" asked Buttercup
"No, I hoped you had"
The three searched the house when Bubbles entered the kitchen and found a note on the table.
"In here, I found something"
The Professor and Buttercup entered the kitchen and Bubbles showed them the note.
Dear family,
I can't tell you how much I love you, nor how much it pains me
to do this, but I can't take it anymore.
Ever since what happened with Mojo, the hatred we've received has
gotten too much for me, so I'm running away.
I have enough money from our TV show saved up to pay for my enrollment
in a prestigious boarding school in Vermont, and I can earn enough money
while I'm there to put myself through college.
I hope you realize, this is not goodbye, this is just 'until next time'

Buttercup went outside to get some fresh air, when she was hounded by news reporters, she couldn't keep up with all the questions and, quite frankly, she didn't want to answer any right now, losing her temper, she threw a punch, smashing one of the cameras and knocking out the cameraman.
"FUCK YOU ALL AND FUCK TOWNSVILLE! THE POWERPUFF GIRLS ARE DONE!" screamed Buttercup
==Eight Years Later==
==Hollywood, California==
A lot had changed for Bubbles in the eight years since Jojo's death, she joined the drama club in school and found a great love for acting. After graduating college, she moved to Hollywood to pursue a career as an actress, but things were put on hold after she was arrested for assault. When she got out, she returned to pursuing acting, she had gotten some roles in commercials, bit parts in TV and some stage work, but nothing of significant note, although, she still got recognition from her time as a Powerpuff Girl and had people asking her to sign autographs or take photos with her quite a lot.
==Salem, Oregon==
The Salem Fire Department rushed into a twenty story burning building, one of the firefighters was on the top floor of the building where they found a boy panicking in the corner, they tried to help the boy, but he kept freaking out. The firefighter saw the shirt the boy was wearing, it was a Powerpuff Girls shirt. The firefighter removed her helmet, it was Buttercup. The boy stood in awe as Buttercup picked him up and jumped out the window, before flying down and reuniting him with his family, with the everyone safe, the firefighters put out the fire.
Buttercup loved her job as a firefighter, she may have moved to Oregon to pursue a normal life, but she could never get rid of her urge to help people.
==Boston, Massachusetts==
Blossom was relieved when she returned to her apartment, kicking her shoes off, she went to her fridge and grabbed a tub of cookie dough ice cream, before sitting on her couch and turning on the TV. She saw a show that she and her sisters used to watch was on, so she decided to watch that. Shortly after, her cell rang.
"Hello?"
"Blossom, is that you?"
"Yeah, who is this?"
"It's me, Sara"
"Ms. Bellum?"
"Good to know you still remember me, I hope you've been well"
"Uh, I've been alright, how did you get my number?"
"It's the same number you've always had, you may have left Townsville, but you still wanted to keep in touch with your friends"
"Oh, so, what can I do for you?"
"Well, I was hoping you could come back to Townsville"
"Ms. Bellum, I can't go back, not after what happened with Mojo"
"That was years ago, Blossom, people have moved on, your friends miss you, your father too"
"What about my sisters?"
"I'm sure they miss you too, but they're not here, after they graduated, Buttercup moved to Oregon and became a firefighter, Bubbles moved to Hollywood"
"Wow, I never knew"
"You've missed a lot, Blossom, you've got a lot to see now"
"I'll...give it some thought"
With no more words, Blossom hung up, she sat back on her couch and pondered whether or not to go back. She dialed a number into her phone.
"Hello?"
"Dr. Pat? It's Blossom"
"Blossom, this is unexpected"
"Yeah, well, something's come up and I need your advice"
"What is it?"
"An old friend of mine asked me to return to Townsville"
"Oh?"
"And, I said I'd give it some thought, but...I don't know if I'm ready to go back yet"
"Blossom, it's been years, if you don't confront your demons now, you may never build up the courage"
"But...what if my nerves get the better of me while I'm there?"
"You remember what I told you during our sessions?"
"Yes, to calm myself by thinking of my inner child"
"And, how has that worked so far?"
Blossom looked to the other end of her couch to see an apparition of her younger self.
"Really well, I'd say"
"Then, why should this be any different?"
"Thanks, Dr. Pat"
==1 Week Later==
Blossom's plane touched down at Townsville airport, she grabbed her luggage and called a cab to take her to a hotel. After unpacking, she decided to see what had changed. She walked through the streets of Townsville, when she came across something she wasn't expecting, it was a bar called 'The Volcano', and through the window, she saw a very familiar looking bartender, there was no mistaking that spiky black hair and those green eyes. Blossom walked in and took a seat at the bar.
"What can I get you, babe?" asked the bartender
Blossom smiled and removed her sunglasses.
"Well, as I live and breathe, Blossom Utonium, back in Townsville!"
"Hello Butch, it's lovely to see you again"
"Same to you, Townsville hasn't felt the same without you and your sisters"
"Feels weird being back, to be honest, I see you've done well for yourself"
"Yeah, opened this place not too long before your sisters left, had a big going away party for them" said Butch
"Sounds nice, how's Boomer?"
"His band, Undying Light, got signed, they're currently in the middle of their European Tour"
"Oh, good for him"
"Yeah, so, what does bring you back to our little corner of the globe?"
"Ms. Bellum, she said she was hoping I'd come back, but she didn't say why"
"Must be for something important"
"Yeah, she wouldn't ask me to come back for nothing, I better go find out, see you around, Butch"
"You too, pinky"
Upon hearing the nickname, Blossom stopped at the door to the bar, hesitating before she left.
==Ms. Bellum's==
Blossom arrived at the house, she knocked on the door and was let in by Ms. Sara Bellum.
"It's been too long"
"I know, never thought I'd be back"
"Glad you are, I need your help"
"Why would you need my help?"
"Not so much me, but rather, my new boss, Mr. Joseph Mondel Jr., he's running for mayor and he wants you, and your sisters, to help with his campaign" said Sara
"How could we help? Townsville's hated us after what happened"
"No, Blossom, the city went to shit after you girls left, monsters tearing down buildings, crime on the rise and more, that's why Mr. Mondel is so popular, because he's promising to lift the ban on superheroes"
"What? You can't be serious"
"I am, the people want you girls back"
"I...I don't..."
Blossom was interrupted when the door opened, a man stepped in, he was around Blossom's age, light skin and short red hair.
"Uh, hello there"
"Hi"
"Blossom, I'd like you to meet my son, Matthew"
"Blossom? As in, the Powerpuff Girls?"
"Yes, nice to meet you, Matthew, I'm sorry, but, have we met? You seem familiar"
"No, I don't think so, but it's nice to meet you too"
Matthew and Blossom shared a handshake.
"I didn't know you had a son, Ms. Bellum"
"Well, adoptive son, I took him in when he was 10 years old"
"Oh"
"I presume my mom told you about Mr. Mondel"
"Yeah, are you helping with the campaign"
"Of course, I'm hoping he'd finally be the one to help clean up the city, better than the current fucker in power"
"Matthew!"
"Well, he is, the mayor couldn't be more corrupt if he tried"
"What's wrong with the current mayor?"
"Where do you start with Mayor Morbucks?"
"Oh, Morbucks? Say no more"
"You familiar?"
"Let's say I've had some run in's with the family princess"
"Well, the king's worse, pure corruption to his very core" said Matthew
"We need your help, Blossom, but we also need your sisters" said Ms. Bellum
==Hollywood==
Bubbles returned to her apartment after another audition. She went to her bathroom to run a bath when she heard her cell ringing, she was shocked to find it was Blossom.
"B-Blossom?"
"Hey sis"
"BLOSSOM?! IT IS YOU!"
"Yeah, it's me"
"Oh my god, where are you?"
"I'm home, I'm back in Townsville"
"What? I never thought you'd go back"
"Well, Ms. Bellum was always very persuasive"
"Hehe, yeah, she was...so, what's this call about? I assume it's not just to catch up"
"No, it's not, um, Ms. Bellum is helping with the campaign of a man running for mayor of Townsville, he's talking about lifting the ban"
"Are you serious?"
"As serious as I've ever been, I understand if you aren't interested, I'm sure you're living the good life in Hollywood"
"Well, I did just get back from an audition..."
Bubbles looked around her apartment, thinking of some of the memories she's made since moving to Hollywood.
"...but I think I can take some time out of my schedule to visit home"
==Salem==
Buttercup was in a bar with a bottle of beer in hand.
"Barkeep, can I get another?"
The bartender took away the empty bottle and gave Buttercup a fresh bottle.
"That's your tenth bottle, how are you not even tipsy?"
"I have my secrets" said Buttercup
"Like a highly accelerated healing factor that prevents me from getting drunk"
Buttercup felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and quickly answered.
"Hello?"
"Buttercup?"
"Bloss?"
"Surprise"
"What the fuck? Am I dreaming?"
"No, this is real"
"What's going on? You run away from home and only now call to say hi?"
"Well, I didn't call to say hi, I'm back in Townsville, Ms. Bellum is helping the campaign of a Mayoral candidate who promises to lift our ban, she's asking us to help out"
"Oh, uh, let me tell you something sis, when we got outlawed by Townsville for accidentally killing a madman and then unceremoniously ditched by you, I was pissed but it forced me to re-evaluate my life and I realized how exhausted I was with everything, because I never had the chance to be a kid, when you're a kid, the stakes are supposed to be low. A kid should be worried about losing their lunch money or being picked last in PE. A kid shouldn't be worried about cat burglars or giant lizards or whatever the fuck Lumpkins is meant to be"
"Okay, I understand"
"...BUT, on the other hand, it might be nice to see you and Bubs again..."
==The Next Day==
Blossom, Ms. Bellum and Matthew went to the house of Professor Utonium, Blossom felt uneasy staring at her childhood home. She saw the apparition of her childhood self urging her to walk towards the house, and she did, walking up to the front door. She took a deep breath before she knocked. The door was answered by the Professor.
"Blossom? Oh, I can't believe it" said the Professor
"Yeah, me either" said Blossom
Blossom smiled and hugged the Professor.
"Pleasure seeing you two, as always"
"Likewise, Drake" said Ms. Bellum
The Professor let them into the house, they started talking about Mondel's campaign when Blossom saw a green car park outside, she ran out the front door to see Bubbles and Buttercup step out.
"GIRLS!" screamed Blossom
Blossom jumped at her sisters, capturing them in a group hug.
"Yeah, it's good to see you too, Blossom" said Buttercup
"How nice, the Powerpuff Girls reunited" said Matthew
"Uh, have we met?" asked Buttercup
"No, I'm Matthew Bellum"
"Bellum?" asked Bubbles
"He's Ms. Bellum's adopted son, he's helping with Mr. Mondel's campaign"
Buttercup just shrugged and followed Blossom inside, Bubbles stared at Matthew.
"Are you sure we haven't met? You seem familiar"
"I'm sure, I would have remembered meeting the Powerpuff Girls"
The conversation was interrupted by the arrival of a limo, a young man stepped out, wearing an expensive looking suit.
"Good evening, Mr. Mondel"
"Same to you Matthew, and are my eyes playing tricks on me or am I seeing Bubbles of the Powerpuff Girls?"
"No, it's me"
"It's lovely to finally meet you"
"You too"
The three entered the house, where everyone was going over Mondel's campaign.
"Never did I think the day would come where the Powerpuff Girls would be reunited" said Joseph
"Alright, spill it, what's your game?" asked Buttercup
"My game? Nothing, I'm merely interested in what's best for Townsville"
"By revoking our ban?"
"Yes, you see, after Mayor Hamilton banned you girls from using your powers, the Townsville crime rate went up, now we are considered the most dangerous city in America, Townsville needed the Powerpuff Girls but their fear blinded them to that fact, they see how wrong they were now"
"And, of course, you will get into office"
"That too, but that's merely to accomplish a goal, I become the mayor, I lift your ban and you three can help the city once more, if you're interested"
The girls looked at eachother.
"I'm in" said Blossom
"Don't you have a job back in...wherever you were?" asked Bubbles
"I was close to quitting" said Blossom
"Well, I'd say I'm in too, I've missed my old life" said Bubbles
"Well, I'm out" said Buttercup
"What?"
"The ban allowed me to realize how much being a superhero sucked, I have a normal life now, and I'm loving it" said Buttercup
"But Buttercup..." said Blossom
"But nothing, I'm outta here"
Buttercup walked out and went to her car, when Blossom caught up with her.
"Buttercup, listen, I know you're enjoying your anonymity, but you can't deny who you are, you're a Powerpuff Girl"
"No, I WAS a Powerpuff Girl"
"Well, how about this, you stay in Townsville to help Joseph with his election, after he's elected, you can go back to Oregon, deal?"
Buttercup let out a sigh of frustration.
"You're not going to stop pestering me about this, are you?"
"I wouldn't be your sister if I didn't pester you"
Buttercup smiled.
"Fine"
Over the next couple weeks, the girls helped Mondel with his campaign, helping increase his popularity. The news headlines were all excited over the prospect over the return of The Powerpuff Girls. On the day of the election results, Blossom found Buttercup in their old bedroom.
"Thinking about something?"
"Just how weird it still feels being back, I remember us sharing this room when we were 5" said Buttercup
"Remember this?" asked Blossom
Buttercup looked to see Blossom holding a green blankie.
"HEY, GIVE ME THAT!"
Buttercup reached for the blankie, while Blossom tried to keep it away while laughing.
"What are you two doing?" asked Bubbles
"Just messing around, thinking of old times" said Blossom
"Well, you two need to get downstairs, the results are about to be announced" said Bubbles
The girls headed downstairs, when Blossom stopped Buttercup at the bottom of the stairs.
"What now?"
"I've been wondering, are you still sure you wanna go back? It won't be the same if it's just me and Bubbles"
"Blossom, I've made up my mind, I'm going back to Salem"
"Okay, if that's your final decision"
"However...I have decided to stay just a little bit longer" said Buttercup
Blossom smiled and hugged her sister.
"Hey, they're announcing the results of the election" said Matthew
The girls took their seats on the couch and watched the TV.
"And the results are in, and we are proud to congratulate the winner of the mayoral election, Joseph Mondel, the new mayor of Townsville"
Everyone jumped up and screamed in delight, which was interrupted when the phone rang.
"Hello?...Yes, we saw, congratulations, Mr. Mayor!...Of course we'll be there" said Blossom
"Well?"
"That was Mr. Mondel, he asked us to join him on stage for his speech tomorrow"
"You know we will" said Bubbles
==The Next Day==
The girls arrived outside city hall where a stage had been set up for Mayor Mondel's speech. Ms. Bellum, the Professor and Matthew were talking with the new mayor. The girls had never seen so many people gathered together before, especially for something political. The girls approached the stage when they heard a voice.
"Oh my god"
The girls turned to see a young girl in a wheelchair behind them.
"You're them, the Powerpuff Girls"
"Uh, yeah, that's us"
"I'm Henrietta, I'm a huge fan"
"Aw, well, always nice to meet a fan"
"Can I get your autographs?"
"Of course"
Henrietta took out an autograph book and a pen and handed them to the girls, who signed their names before Bubbles handed back the book, when she saw a furry caterpillar on her shoulder.
"AGH!"
Bubbles swatted the caterpillar away out of fear.
"Hey, that caterpillar was my pet, Gloria"
"Oh, uh, I'm sorry"
"Yeah, she is, she gets freaked out by bugs" said Buttercup
"Yeah, I understand" said Henrietta, before leaving
"Hey, girls, Mayor Mondel is about to start his speech" said the Professor
The girls were happy to be together again, for good, they stood at the side of the stage as Joseph walked to the podium to start his speech.
"Today is a great day..."
A loud bang interrupted and everyone started to panic, the girls looked towards the source of the bang and flew towards it, finding an empty room, aside from a sniper rifle on the floor and a box of ammunition. The girls flew back down to the stage, getting worried when they saw Matthew applying pressure to the Professor's shoulder, where blood was coming from.
