Hello! Back for a new year- and possibly the final year! When I started this it was my freshman year of college, I'm now in my Senior year. I've successfully done the 12 days of Christmas for two years and I'm going to try my hardest to keep up with this year as well. Last year was a bad year for motivation, it was a bad year in general, but I'm hoping to make it through this year since it might be my last, not as a fanfiction writer but as a college student doing crazy challenges and the like.
I'm very, very excited to tackle these stories and these fandoms. I hope you enjoy this year's contribution and that maybe you're motivated to go back and read the previous year's Christmas fics.

Nakia was in the states, with the outreach program. It had been enough of a draw for T'Challa, though he knew he should be with his kingdom and had fumbled to come up with excuses for why he was visiting, everyone knew he just wanted to be close to her.
"It's not exactly a White Christmas," T'Challa commented, looking out the window at the sunny California morning and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He looked a little less regal early in the morning before he had fully woken up and Nakia always liked seeing the unpolished side of him.
"It's still nice," She said with a shrug, "And perhaps we'll go somewhere colder next year.
T'Challa's eyebrows raised, "Already thinking of next Christmas?" But that's not what he meant. Both of them knew that what he was really asking was if she really thought they would be together next Christmas.
He really hoped so. For as long as he remembered he had loved her. They had hit rough spots, had argued over things that were petty and things that were quite serious. They had separated, time and time again. But they always seemed to come back together, and T'Challa hoped that this time it would stick. He hoped that there would be a next Christmas.
"Yeah," Nakia said, reaching for his hand and rubbing her thumb over it, "I like being with you, like this."
"Like what?" He asked, putting his head on her shoulder.
"You just want to hear me say it," She said with a laugh.
"Yeah," He admitted, smiling at her.
"Okay, right now I feel normal. I don't feel like I'm waking up in the morning with the King of Wakanda. I feel like I'm just… Spending Christmas with my partner."
"I like that," T'Challa agreed.
"Yeah, me too. Because I love you, T'Challa. But sometimes… Sometimes I feel like obligation gets in the way of us. So sometimes I like feeling normal. Sometimes I like being undercover with you."
"Like a spy," He said, eyes gleaming.
"I am a spy."
"I like being undercover. I like being with you. I like feeling normal."
"Obviously, we can't run away from obligation. You can't stop being the King of Wakanda and I have no intention of becoming the Queen."
"No? You're sure I can't convince you?"
"I'm not sure of anything. I'm just… Glad we have these moments."
"We have all of Christmas. And we'll have the next one. And the one after that."
"I hope so," Nakia said, pressing her lips against his.
"Are you okay with that?" He asked when they pulled away from the kiss.
"With having Christmas?"
"With only being able to escape obligations for a little while."
"Hm…" Now it was her turn to rest her head on his shoulder, as they held each other close, "Yeah. I think so. We've always been a bit of a sometimes thing. I've always liked sometimes."
"Me too. I wish we could have forever, but there are too many obligations."
"Too many titles. King, Ambassador, etc."
"I like that other title you mentioned… Partner."
"We can be partners, even when we're apart."
"Perfect. And once a year we'll have Christmas."
"Forever."
"Forever."
"Pretty serious of a conversation to have before coffee," Nakia commented.
"Let me make you a pot, my Queen."
"Your partner," Nakia corrected.
"My forever," T'Challa replied, unable to wipe the smile off his face.
