Chapter 1
Yoh found himself in the woods and noticed Manta by his side . He gently woke up manta as they both got up . He walked ahead of manta who stayed behind him as they bumped into two brothers . Yoh rubbed the back of his head and smiled " glad to find some other humans here my name is Yoh and this is Manta " he said as the two boys stepped back. He heard manta trying to speak and run away with the two other kids . He turned around and noticed a shadow and saw his sword was broken . He smiled " can we talk this out " he said feeling manta grabbed his hand . He saw they were in someone's home .
Greg found a shotgun as thier was banging on the door . He noticed Wirt grabbed the gun as Kitty his frog landed on the blonde kids head and he fainted . He noticed Yoh was holding the door close and moved away to Check on Manta . He screamed as a guy with an axe entered and closed the door . " Who are you " he asked the person with the axe as Wirt checked on Manta and Yoh . He smiled as Kitty jumped to the top of his head .
The lumberjack looked at the four boys " what are you doing in my home " he screamed . He sighed " your safer here then outside with the beast " he said noticing questions looks from three of the four boys as Yoh just had a smile on his face . He started a fire " I will see if I have any food " he said putting down the lantern and axe . He walked to the kitchen .
Wirt put down the gun and looked to Manta , Greg , and Yoh . " listen we have to leave now " he said . He noticed Greg and Yoh nodding it would be fine as Manta agreed with him as the lumberjack brought some soup . He took a bowl and nodded thanks as Yoh and Greg quickly ate the soup . " So what is this beast " He asked as the old lumberjack tossed his soup against the wall . He noticed the lumberjack had them get down . " What's going on " he asked as the lumberjack headed outside .
Yoh heard the struggle outside and looked at his broken sword . He sighed noticing amidamaru was not with them so he could not use his oversoul . He noticed a dog ran in after a little while . He noticed Manta picked up the lantern and headed outside . He followed manta as did Wirt and Greg . He noticed the destruction as Manta placed the lantern on the ground . He noticed Manta walked away as did Greg and Wirt . He helped the lumberjack up and smiled . " your hiding something but please tell me " He asked .
The lumberjack looked at Yoh and sighed " that lantern contains my daughter's soul and the beast said I have to keep it lit or she will be lost forever " he said noticing Yoh glared into the shadows of the woods . He noticed Yoh give him a look to head inside as he turned to head inside he heard Yoh pick up the lantern . He entered his home and watched from a window and saw Yoh talking to the beast . He noticed Yoh left with the lantern afterwards .
Yoh Caught up to the group and saw a bird talking with the group . He noticed manta waved him over . He noticed manta , Greg , and Wirt noticed the lantern . " oh I asked the lumberjack what was his story in a way and he thinks this lantern contains his daughter's soul but I figured out something and decide to take it with us " he said as the bird was listening . He smiled at the blue bird " so what's your name " he asked .
