I saw Spider-Man: No Way Home the other day with my brother and his girlfriend and while I had some issues with it, such as the fanservice and that they could've used some better writing (I do not want to spoil too much), it is probably my favorite MCU Spider-Man film, since Peter finally got more character development beyond being Tony's follower and I just wanted to write this.
This would take place in Peter's beginning as Spider-Man.
Disclaimer: I do not own Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A gang of thieves were stashing some jewels into a truck, when one of them was suddenly hanging upside down with webbing as he screamed.
They looked up to see Spider-Man as they glared. "Hey, it's that Spider Boy from the Internet!"
"It's 'Spider-Man.' And guess what, playtime's over, so I'm taking away your toys!" Spider-Man quipped as they pulled out guns but Spider-Man jumped away to dodge the gunfire before he shot web bullets, knocking two of them out. Spider-Man then jumped down and rolled and flipped, knocking down some of the thugs with acrobatic grace and he was about to chase the truck, when he saw the cargo door of the truck open as one of the thieves threw a bomb at him and Spider-Man widened his eyes. "Oh, god."
Spider-Man was unable to dodge as the bomb exploded close to him, knocking him down and making burns on his costume.
Aunt May was making dinner, while the TV was turned on, not that she was paying attention to it, considering who was on it at the moment.
"And here it is, the amateur vigilante unable to catch the thieves!" J. Jonah Jameson said on TV on Daily Bugle. "Any competent hero would've stopped them but for all we know, this webslinger is putting on an act to make us feel sorry for him, while using his 'hero gig' as a smokescreen to help them! Mark my words, be on lookout for this wallcrawling menace!"
Aunt May heard the door open and muted the TV and turned to see Peter, his face covered in bruises as she approached him and gasped, worried, while holding him by his face. "Oh, my God, Peter. Are you OK?"
"I kind of had a bad day today." Peter said.
"What happened?" Aunt May asked.
Peter sighed. He couldn't tell her the truth, obviously, but he tried to stay as close to it as he could. "I saw a couple of guys try to mug someone. I tried to help but…"
Aunt May sighed, understanding now as she kissed him and hugged him tightly. "Oh, my brave sweet little boy."
"I couldn't do it, May. I'm just not that strong." Peter said.
Aunt May pulled away before she knelt down, holding Peter by his shoulders as she looked at him firmly. "Peter, listen to me. You are strong. Stronger than anyone I know. You have a good heart and soul, just like your Dad and Uncle Ben and I know you can find your way. You have a gift. You have power. You remember what Ben used to say?"
Peter nodded. "With great power…"
"…there must also come great responsibility." Aunt May finished as she held him by his cheek with an assuring smile. "I know it's not easy to bear and I also know that you'll find a way. I believe in you, Peter. You just need to believe in yourself."
Peter stared at Aunt May for a few moments before smiling as he hugged her tightly.
"I love you so much, my sweet little boy." Aunt May said.
"I love you too, Aunt May." Peter said, both of them feeling their eyes get wet.
'With great power, there must also come great responsibility.'
Peter, now in his Spider-Man costume was on the rooftop before he webbed onto a nearby building and swung away, now more confident. If Uncle Ben and Aunt May still believed in him, he had to keep on trying.
Peter's and Aunt May's bond in the film was one of the highlights of the film, even though some people didn't like how she was taking Uncle Ben's role there, which I didn't mind though. Probably the only thing I didn't like was what were MJ and Ned doing in the film and how they helped Peter (Who saw it knows what I mean, I don't want to spoil anything for those who have not seen it).
Please review and let me know if you have enjoyed this one-shot.
