Christmas Present Race
(Dec 14th. 1:30pm)
Thomas was busy at work wrapping up packages for the Christmas season. Thomas was on edge while doing the packages since it was very close to Christmas only being four days away. "Thomas!" Nathan Thomas's boss shouted. "Yeah?" Thomas asked, looking at his boss. "I need you for some overtime," Nathan said, writing some stuff down on his phone. "Overtime? But I thought-" Thomas started to say. "Hey! You want this job right? I need you, end of story!" Nathan shouted. "But I'm only part time," Thomas said, still looking at his boss. "Fine, you're fired!" Nathan shouted before leaving the room. "Wait!" Thomas said, running after Nathan. "I'll do anything please let me keep this job!" Thomas said, walking beside Nathan. "Nope, here's you final check," Nathan said, handing Thomas his final payday.
"But-but," Thomas said but Nathan just left Thomas in the hallway. Thomas sighed and then went to grab his things and left the store. Thomas got into his car and hit the steering wheel. "Damn it!" Thomas shouted in anger. Thomas then started his car, blasted the radio with music from his phone and sped away to home. Bandit was out on the front lawn mowing while Chilli was doing the flowers on the side and their daughters playing on the walkway to the house. The Heelers then heard the loud music from their oldest son and brothers car as Thomas came down the street and parked his car just a little sloppy. Bandit looked at his son confused since he was home early.
"Hey mate, why are you home so early?" Bandit asked as Thomas got out of his car. "I don't want to talk about it," Thømas said, locking up his car. "Thomas, can you play with us!" Bluey asked, wagging her tail. "No," Thomas said coldly as went into the house. "Aww," Bluey said looking down. "That wasn't normal," Chilli said walking up to her husband. "No it wasn't," Bandit said. "Dad?" Bluey said walking up to her parents. "Yes mate?" Bandit asked.
"How come Thomas didn't want to play with us?" Bluey asked. "He always wants to play with us!" Bingo added. "Well maybe not all the time but maybe he had a bad day," Bandit said. "Can we cheer him up?" Bluey asked. "Sure! Just don't make too much of a mess when you do," Chilli said. "Hooray!" The girls said, rushing into the house. "Squirts maybe-" Bandit started to say until Chilli stopped her husband. "They'll be fine," Chilli whispered to her husband. Bandit smiled as he cuddled Chilli.
Thomas went to his room and slammed the door and laid on his bed and screamed into his pillow. "Thomas?" Bluey asked and knocked on the door. "Go away Bluey," Thomas said in his pillow. "But we brought you some Christmas biscuits!" Bingo said behind the door. "Or how you call them Christmas cookies!" Bluey said, wagging her tail. "Guys I'm not in the mood please go away," Thomas said. "Please Thomas?" Both girls said. "Ugh fine!" Thomas said getting up from his bed and opened the door. "And chocolate milk? I guess you two know me well," Thomas said, getting a smile. "Well we're your favorite sisters! Of course we know you!" Bluey said. "If only there was some peppermint chocolate cream pie to go with it," Thomas said with a full smile. "A peppermint chocolate cream what?! They make those!" the girls shouted with excitement. "Right I forgot there's only meat pies out here," Thømas said rubbing the back of his neck. "Has dad eaten one?" Bluey asked.
"Eaten what?" Bandit asked, passing by. "Peppermint chocolate cream pie," Thomas said Bandit smiled now remembering how that pie tasted. "Oh yeah! I ate one or two of those in my time in America with Thomas's mum," Bandit said, licking his lips. "No fair!" Bluey said, looking down. "Sorry blue but maybe if we visit Grandma Willow next Christmas maybe she'll make one," Thomas said crossing his arms. "Aww," Bluey said. "Oh! Mate, why did you come home early?" Bandit asked Curiously. Suddenly Thomas's smile went away as he forgot why he was home so early. "I was fired," Thømas said looking down. "Oh no!" The girls said. "Mate I'm sorry," Bandit said looking down.
"Yeah, Nathan was a jerk anyways," Thømas said, rubbing the back of his neck. "But! I have enough money saved up for the holidays so go get your lists for Christmas," Thomas said with a wide smile. "Hooray!" The girls said as they ran to get their lists. "Are you sure you can handle this mate? Your mum and I can help too," Bandit said, placing his hand on Thomas's shoulder. "Don't worry dad I got everyone handled," Thomas said with a warm smile. "Alright mate but don't be afraid to ask for help," Bandit said with a smile.
"I won't dad," Thomas said again with his smile. "By the way… are you going to finish those biscuits or uh cookies ," Bandit looking at the plate of Christmas cookies. "Dad you don't have to explain the Australian slang, look who I grew up with," Thomas said, hugging his father. Bandit hugged his son while wagging his tail. "There's one thing we want from you!" Bluey said while running up to her brother with Bingo by her side with a piece of paper.
"Alright, what is it?" Thomas said, taking the list. "Chucky Chimp ultimate play tower huh?" Thomas said, looking at his sisters. "Yes please," Bluey said. "Alright I'll see what I can do!" Thomas said with a smile. "Hooray!" The girls said before fanning off to the playroom. "Are you sure about that mate? It's expensive and probably hard to find if you don't get it right away," Bandit said. "Nah, I have plenty of time and I have enough saved up for everyone in the family," Thomas said with a smile. "Alright mate but don't say I didn't warn you," Bandit said while eating the Christmas cookies.
(Dec 23rd, 6:30pm)
Thomas was coming out of the shopping center with tons of packages for his family. "Alright that's the last of it!" Thomas said as he packed his car up. Thomas then gets in his car and drives home. Now turning into his driveway and gets out of the car and starts to unload his car. Thomas brought in all the presents and placed them under the three.
"That's a lot of presents, honey," Chilli said, coming into the living room. "Yeah, I got Uncle Stripe a new fit bit, Aunt Trixie new Wine glassware, your present, Dad that exercise mirror, Uncle Rad new tools, Aunt Frisky new picture frames, Grandad Bob new fishing stuff, same for Granddad Scout, Nana a new crockpot, Grandpa Richard a ice maker and Grandma Willow new plant seeds with new pots that I sent those over last week and finally Muffin a slime kit and Socks a kinetic sand kit," Thømas said almost out of breath. "That's… nice sweetie… did you forget anyone?" Chilli asked nervously. "No I don't think so… oh! And Uncle Prince and Kylie a couples coupon thing for a escape room in New York," Thomas said
"That's nice too sweetie but does anybody else come to mind?" Chilli asked again, nervous. "I don't think… no!" Thomas shouted realizing who he forgot. "honey it's not your fault that was a big order for you," Chilli said softly. "No! I forgot my two important family members! My sisters!" Thomas said cover this face. "Honey it's okay your dad and I got them things plus Nana and Grandad Bob, Uncle Stripe and aunt Trixie, Uncle Rad and Aunt Frisky, don't forget my dad although he forgot Bingo was born once but that doesn't matter and Uncle Prince helped too I mean really helped because as he likes to say "it pays to be rich" and your Grandparents sent them things too but those won't make it here until after Christmas but… they have their presents from everyone else," Chilli explained placing her hand on her son's shoulder.
"But I got everyone else something but them! And they only wanted one thing from me," Thomas said disappointed in himself. "Sweetie, they'll understand what happened," Chilli said, kneeling down to make Thomas look at her. "No! Maybe I can make it before the shopping center closes!" Thomas said, running out of the house. "Sweetie, they'll close before you get there!" Chilli said just as Thomas sped away trying to hurry. Chilli sighed and then called Bandit on her phone. "We need to talk about our son," Chilli said on the phone.
Thomas was now stuck in rush hour traffic. "Come on! Move it!" Thomas beeps his horn. "Yeah you too!" Thomas shouted, still stuck in traffic. Thomas sighed as he moved his car slowly. After about 30 minutes in hard traffic, Thomas finally made it to the shopping center only to find himself the only one there. "No, no, no!" Thømas said as he ran to the doors but they were closed for the night. "Gah!!!" Thomas said, kicking a trash can. "Ow!" Thomas shouted, holding his foot. Thomas growled to himself and went back to his car. Thomas got into his car and sighed. "I'm such a jerk," Thomas said to himself. Thomas then drove himself home.
Now back at home Thomas set out a plan that he would go first thing in the morning and search for that Chunky Chimp ultimate play tower. Thomas's phone went off as some notifications came in for that play tower was still around. "Great! I still have a chance!" Thomas said to himself. "Thomas mate?" Bandit asked, knocking on the door. "Uh yeah dad?" Thomas asked nervously. "Dinners ready mate," Bandit said behind the door. "O-oh! Okay! I'll be out in a second," Thomas said. Thomas sighed as he puts his phone in his pocket and then went to the dining room for dinner. Bluey and Bingo were talking about all the nice decorated houses they saw with Dad to mum while Thomas was eating while also being inside his head. "Girls, you wouldn't be mad if you didn't get that chunky Chimp thing would you?" Bandit asked. Thomas nearly spits out his food. "Well it's only the best toy of this holiday season!" Bluey said.
"And Santa or Thomas will get it for us!" Bingo cheered. "Hey! Isn't it snowing outside?!" Thomas spoke up nervously. "Mate… it never snows here," Bandit said looking at his son. "Oh uh… silly me must be the crazy Christmas shopping I've been doing!" Thomas said again nervously. "Speaking of Christmas shopping mate, you did a lot this year for everyone in the family, I'm sure it wouldn't be the end of the world if you forgot someone," Bandit explained. Thomas again almost spits out his food. "M-me forgot someone? Nah!" Thømas said, almost sweating. "Forgetting someone or two is okay mate, it is a lot and you don't have to please everyone," Bandit said. "No! I have everyone accounted for and the girls are right! Santa also has their back!" Thomas said nervously. "Bandit, I think our son has things handled," Chilli said, trying to change the subject even though she and her husband talked about Thomas trying not to disappoint the girls before he came home. "Alright, I won't say anymore," Bandit said, eating again. "Did mom have trouble during the Christmas season?" Thomas asked in a low tone.
Bandit swallowed his food and then looked at his son. "Your mum was very organized during the holidays mate, but she did have her struggles to make sure you had a great Christmas," Bandit said. "Nobody's perfect sweetie but we just try our best," Chilli added. "Right," Thomas said looking at his plate. After dinner was done Thomas went to his room and looked on his laptop and started searching for that play set some more. After some serious searching Thømas fell asleep at his desk.
Dec 24th 9:25 am
Thomas woke up to his phone notification. Thomas yawned and looked at his phone. "Yes!" Thomas shouted jumping up as he ran out of his room. The rest of the family was in the kitchen eating breakfast as Thømas rushed through the kitchen and grabbed an apple. "You're not eating mate?" Bandit asked, looking at his son. "I uh got an apple," Thomas replied, taking a big bite. "You're going to need more than that," Chilli said.
"Nah mom it's okay, I have to go pick up something real quickly and I'll be home later," Thomas said trying to hurry out the door. "But what about the parade?" Bluey asked. "Parade?" Thomas asked, looking at Bluey. "Yeah! We're going to the parade this afternoon!" Bingo added. "It's the first year we're going mate," Bandit said, putting down his paper. "Oh, then I'll be there!" Thømas said with a smile. "Hooray!" Bluey and Bingo said.
"Alright!" Thomas said, clapping his hands together. "Everyone is going to be there mate," Bandit said, now eating some toast. "I won't be late! I promise!" Thomas said, now heading out the door and leaving. "I worry about him," Bandit said, now taking a drink of his coffee. "He'll be fine," Chilli said with a warm smile. "Yeah, you're right," Bandit said softly with a smile. Thomas raced out to his car and then drove to the shopping center. Thomas parked his car and then went inside. Tons of dogs were outside a toy store waiting to get inside. Thomas walked up to the group and waited like everyone else. "What are you doing here Heeler?" Zach asked, seeing Thomas standing there. "Great, just what I needed," Thomas said looking at Zach. "Last minute Christmas shopping?" Zach asked, crossing his arms. "Yeah? You too?" Thomas asked, also crossing his arms.
"You could say that… let me guess? A chunky Chip ultimate play tower," Zach said with a smirk. "Yeah? Gruber wants the same thing?" Thomas asked. "Yeah, little brat gets what he wants mostly," Zach said. "Oh…" Thomas said, looking down. "But… you're not going to get it," Zach said with a smirk. "What?" Thomas asked, confused. "I'm going to get that play tower thing before you get your blue hands on it!" Zach said grinning with his K-9 teeth showing. "Yeah right!" Thomas said with a light growl. "Alright then mate, may the best dog win!" Zach said, getting ready to make a run for it. Suddenly the doors to the toy store and all the dogs push through the doors to get inside. Once Thomas and Zach were inside the store they raced to find the play tower. Thomas was a little faster than Zach but that didn't mean Zach didn't have things up his sleeve.
Zach then grabbed a dodge ball and threw at Thomas hitting him in the back knocking him down. "Have a nice fall mate!" Zach said, running past Thomas. Thomas growled to himself and then jumped up and chased after Zach. While dodging other dogs who are fighting over other toys. Thomas then hopped onto a skateboard and was skating down the aisle catching up with Zach. "See you later mate!" Thomas said with his bad Aussie accent pushing Zach into some giant teddies. Thomas laughed seeing the teddies fall on top of the German shepherd. "Victory is mine! Haha!" Thomas cheered until he ran over a ball and fell off the skateboard.
"Wipe out" Thomas said, sitting up. Thomas then looked over to his left and saw the last Chunky Chimp ultimate play tower. "Finally!" Thømas said standing up and running over to the play set. "Mine!" Thomas and a dog dressed in a Chucky Chimp costume both said. "Sorry but this is mine," Thømas said, pulling on the play set. "No kid, it's mine!" Said the dog in the costume while pulling on the play set too. "Back off you big purple monkey!" Thømas said pulling on the box more. "Give you brat!" The dog in the costume said. "That's mine!" Zach shouted hitting Thomas and the dog in the costume with a Inflatable bat that squeaks. "Zach! Stop it!" Thomas shouted trying to hold on to the box of the play set. "It's mine Heeler! And you! Get out of here shoo!" Zach said, hitting the dog with the costume. "Ah! Forget it!" The dog in the monkey costume said as he let go.
Once the dog let go Thømas fell backwards into some legos. "Finally it's mine!" Zach said, grabbing the play set box. "No you don't!" Thømas shouted, grabbing an inflatable hammer and smacking Zach with it making a squeaking noise. "So you want to play like that mate? Alright! You asked for it!" Zach shouted as he started hitting Thomas with his inflatable bat. The two teens started hitting each other with their inflatable toys making all kinds of Squeaking noises when one would hit the other. "That play tower is mine!" Zach shouted again hitting Thomas. "No it's mine!" Thomas shouted, hitting back with his inflatable hammer. "Actually it's no one's," an employee said. "What?!" Both teens shouted while looking at the employees. "While you two idiots were fighting that dog with the costume snuck back and took it," The employee explained. "No!" Both teens shouted. "Are you two going to buy something or are you going to continue to fight like a bunch of five year olds?" The employee asked.
Zach then blew a fuse. "This is all your fault Heeler! Ahh!" Zach shouted and then punched Thomas in the muzzle knocking him down to the ground. As Thomas took the blow and fell to the ground, he was out cold for a little bit. "Hey kid! Are you okay?" The employee asked, trying to wake up Thomas. "W-what?" Thomas asked. "Oh good your alive! We're not Eligible in case Customers get really hurt or killed in store," the employee said. "Oh.. wait! Where's Zach? Ow!" Thomas said as he touched his face while sitting up. "Oh he left the store, but he left you this," the employee said, handing Thomas a candy cane. "A candy cane?" Thomas asked, confused. "He also said sorry and he's working on his anger," The employee said before leaving Thomas.
"Jerk," Thomas said as he stood up. Thomas was defeated and stressed. "Worst Christmas ever," Thomas said as he went back to his car. Thomas got into his car and looked into his mirror. "Thanks for the black eye shepherd," Thomas said as he then looked at his phone. "And I'm late for the Parade," Thomas said as he then started his car and drove to where the parade was taking place. Thomas took a deep breath and left his car and went to find his family. Bandit, Rad, and Stripe were talking together while Chilli, Trixie and Frisky were talking on side with the girls playing near them waiting for the parade to start. Thomas prepared himself for the worst as he really couldn't hide his black eye from his family.
"Thomas!" Chilli screamed with worry in her voice. This made Bandit and his brothers stop talking and looked at Thomas. "Thomas!" Bandit said now running over to his son. Thomas sighed and walked forward. "What on earth happens to you honey?" Chilli asked, checking her son's eye. "Who did this to you mate?" Bandit asked also looking at his son's eye. The rest of the family was worried about Thomas and fortunately the girls weren't looking to see their brother and cousin like this. Thomas's uncles and aunts quickly went over to their nephew . "I… couldn't get the Chucky Chimp ultimate play tower," Thomas said in defeat. "All of this for a play tower?!" Bandit shouted with worry in his voice. "Looks like you fought hard mate, I'd like to see the other guy," Rad said with a chuckle. "Not helping Rad!" Bandit snapped. "Dad it's okay or well not really because I don't have to play tower," Thomas said looking down. "Son! I don't care about the toy tower thing! I care about you!" Bandit said worried.
"It doesn't look bad," Chilli said, still checking her son's eye. "Ouch!" Thomas yelped in pain. "I'll get some ice," Trixie said as she went to get some ice. "Did you at least get anything mate?" Stripe asked. "Stripe!" Bandit said glaring at his little brother. "Uh well, a candy cane," Thomas answered. "Nice mate," Rad said with a smile. "Hey! Can't you two see my son's hurt!" Bandit snapped. "Dad, I'm fine," Thomas said sitting down. "Fine! You have a black eye mate! Over a toy tower!" Bandit said still very worried. Thomas rolled his eyes or eye in that case. "Here some ice sweetie," Trixie said, handing her nephew a bag of ice for the swelling. "Thanks aunt Trixie," Thomas said lightly, placing the ice on his eye. "Dad, please let's just enjoy the parade," Thomas said ,looking forward. Bandit sighed and sat next to his son. Rad and Stripe also sat next to their nephew with their brother.
"Thomas what happened?" Bluey now noticing her brother being there. "Uh, just a fight with an elf," Thomas said with a nervous smile. "Really? Are you on Santa's naughty list now?" Bluey asked. "Nah the elf was on the naughty list and I care of it also Santa wanted you to have this," Thomas said and then gave Bluey the candy cane. "Hooray!" Bluey said, taking the candy cane. "Just share with Bingo okay?" Thomas asked. "I will!" Bluey said as she went to give some to Bingo. "Nice save mate," Rad said with a grin. "Fighting an elf huh? That must have been some elf," Stripe teased. "Yeah, Zach shepherd the big green elf," Thomas said with a chuckle. "Fighting again with Zach mate?" Bandit asked, confused. "Yeah a little bit," Thomas answered. Bandit shook his head thinking that this was over with Zach but it wasn't.
After the parade was over and it was time to go home. Now at home Thomas went to his room and laid down on his bed. His eye was doing a little bit better since putting some ice on it but it was still sore. "Thomas?" Bluey and Bingo asked, knocking on the door. "Yeah?" Thomas asked weakly. "Did you get into a fight with the elf over the chunky chimp ultimate play tower?" Bluey asked. "Yeah, kinda," Thomas said looking at his sisters. "Well, it's okay mate," Bingo said with a smile, "okay for what?" Thomas asked. "It's okay if you couldn't get the present, maybe Santa did," Bluey said. "But what if even Santa couldn't get it?" Thomas asked, looking down. "Then, that's okay too as long as we're together it'll always be the best Christmas ever!" Bluey said as hugged her brother. "Yeah!" Bingo also hugged her brother. "Didn't I disappoint you?" Thømas asked, hugging his sisters back.
"No! We love you no matter what big brother!" Bluey said, wagging her tail. Thomas wagged his tail. "That's great!" Thømas said with a smile. After awhile Bandit came into the room to tell the girls it was time to go sleep but he found the sweetest thing. All three of his children were sleeping together with Bluey on one side and Bingo on the other with Thomas in the middle. Bluey and Bingo cuddled up with their brother and snuggled into his fur. Bandit smiled and turned off the light and shut the door.
"Wake up! It's Christmas!" Bluey and Bingo shouted. "Alright I'm up! Go get mom and dad," Thømas said with a yawn. "Hooray!" The girls cheered and then went to their parents room. Thomas moaned and groaned but got out of bed. Thomas and the rest of his family met in the living room to open presents. Everyone opened their presents with joy and smiles. "Thomas, you shouldn't have," Chilli said looking at her new purse. "And you have good taste too," Chilli added. "Thanks mom, I thought you might like that," Thomas said as Chilli kissed her son on his head.
"Mate! One those Exercising mirrors? That! How?" Bandit asked, looking at his son. "Saved up allowances with my job, dad," Thomad said with a smile. "Thanks mate," Bandit said, hugging his son and wagging his tail. Thomas and the girls opened their gifts. The girls mostly getting toys and some books for Christmas and Thomas gets a new phone and some new sunglasses for male dogs and Cologne. "Looks like there's one more," Chilli said looking at a large present by the tree. Bluey goes over to look it. "It's from Thomas to me and Bingo," Bluey said, wagging her tail. "What?" Thomas asked, confused. "Go ahead and open it sweetie," Chilli said. Bluey nodded. "Bingo, can you please help me unwrap it," Bluey said. "Okay," Bingo said, standing up and helping her sister unwrap it. "The chunky Chimp ultimate play tower!" Bluey and Bingi screamed. "But I-" Thomas said as Bandit placed his hand on his son's shoulders.
Thomas looked at his father who then gave him a wink. Thomas then smiled at his dad and knew he gave him the help he needed. "Thanks dad," Thomas whispered. "All you needed to do was ask for help mate," Bandit whispered back. "Merry Christmas dad," Thomas said with a warm smile. "Merry Christmas son," Bandit said softly. The two then hugged tightly and wagged their tails. "Alright Heelers! The rest of the family will be here soon! Everyone get their presents that they got for the family and bring it out here!" Chilli order. Everyone cleaned up the living room and placed down their presents for the rest of the family. "Is everyone accounted for?" Chilli asked "Yep I got you babe, Rad, Frisky, Mum, Dad, Trixie, Muffin and Socks," Bandit said proudly. "What about uncle Stripe?" Thomas asked. Bandit's eyes opened wide in shock.
"Oh biscuits…." Bandit said in defeat.
