PART -1
LOVE TRIANGLE
"I am Tag and I am here to challenge Misty, the gym leader of Cerulean City for a Cascade Badge." Tag, an aspiring Pokémon trainer said to the Rotom drone as he entered the magnificent Cerulean City gym. It would be his fourth badge. Right now, he had Thunder badge, Rainbow badge and Boulder badge and was here in the city of water to win a water type badge.
"Follow me." The Rotom drone said. The doors opened with a clang and an extravagant water battle arena flashed before his eyes. On its other side was standing tall, Misty the gym leader. Her beautiful green eyes shined like ocean waves and her long orange hairs were tied in a side ponytail. "I am Tag and I am here to challenge you for a Cascade Badge." There was a sly smile on Misty's face. She had beaten 8 challengers in a row in past couple of days and none of them returned with a Cascade badge. Would he be the one to beat her, she thought to herself. "Then bring it on Tag!"
"Both sides are allowed to use 3 pokémons each. The challenger is allowed to change his pokémon mid battle but the gym leader is not allowed to do so. The person with last pokémon standing will be the winner. Let the match begin." the Rotom drone announced. "Go my sweetie! I choose you Starmie." "Go Pidgeotto." Both pokémons were facing each other. "Starmie, use bubble beam." "Dodge it." Pidgeotto swiftly dodged the bubble beam. "Use air slash." "Use hydro pump." Both moves clashed! None of the pokémon took any damage. "Pidgeotto use tackle." Bam! Starmie took a hit. "Are you alright Starmie?" Starmie nodded. "Alright spin and use bubble beam." "Dodge it Pidgeotto." It didn't work. The bubble beam hit directly. "Are you ok?" Tag enquired. Pidgeotto nodded. "Use quick attack." "Use light screen." Pidgeotto move didn't hit Starmie and it was getting really tired. "Now Starmie! Let's finish it up with a psybeam" Misty said. Pidgeotto took a direct hit and fainted. "Pidgeotto is unable to battle, Starmie wins." Rotom drone announced. "Pidgeotto return." Tag grinned. "Go Jolteon. Use swift!" "Starmie counter it with psybeam." BAM! There was a dust of cloud when both moves collided. "Starmie hide inside water." Tag took this as his advantage. "Quick Jolteon, use thunderbolt." Tag said. A blinding thunderbolt struck the water and there was a flash. Starmie fainted. "Starmie is unable to battle, Jolteon wins." Rotom drone declared.
"You got moves. Let's see what you do now. Go Corsola." Misty sent out her Corsola. "Jolteon use thunderbolt." "Quick Corsola use spike cannon." Both moves collided. "Use bubble beam." "Counter it with swift Jolteon." Both moves hit the opponent pokémons. "Corsola spike cannon again." "Jolteon dodge it and use copycat." Jolteon dodged Corsola's spike cannon and with the help of copycat used spike cannon on Corsola. Spike cannon hit the target. "Are you ok Corsola?" Misty asked. "Cor…" Corsola led out a cry. She knew that it was heavily injured. "Now Corsola use recover." Corsola with the help of recover was back again in this match.
"WHAT?"
"How do you like that sweetie? Now Corsola use tackle." "Jolteon use tackle too." Both of the pokémons collided and were thrown aback. Jolteon suffered a significant damage. "This is looking bad. I have to do something", Tag thought to himself. Suddenly an idea struck his mind. "Jolteon use double kick on water." That would be a very silly move, Misty thought to herself. "Corsola use spike cannon." As soon as Jolteon used double kick on water, a wall of water surrounded Jolteon and the spike cannon got reflected back to Corsola. Misty knew someone else too who could use this strategy. "Corsola use recover." "Jolteon use take down before if recovers." Before Corsola could recover a smashing take down hit it and it fainted. "Corsola is unable to battle, Jolteon wins." Rotom drone announced. "Corsola return. You did a great job. The world's greatest beauty, the tomboyish mermaid! Go, my steady." Misty sent out her Gyarados. 'This is what I have been waiting for.' Tag thought to himself. "Jolteon use thunderbolt." "Gyarados use hydro pump." The moves collided and nulled each other. "Gyarados use flamethrower." "Jolteon use quick attack." But Gyarados' flamethrower was much stronger and faster than Jolteon. It hit Jolteon and it fainted.
"Jolteon is unable to battle, Gyarados wins." Rotom drone announced. "Thanks, Jolteon. Now I choose you. Go Grovyle. Use leaf blade." Gyarados was directly hit by leaf blade. "Gyarados use rain dance." As soon as Gyarados used rain dance clouds began to hover and it started raining on the battlefield. "Don't panic Grovyle. Use quick attack." "Blast it off with a hurricane." The hurricane combined with rain dance sent Grovyle flying but it landed safely. "That was powerful. Now use bullet seeds." "Dodge it and use crunch Gyarados." Gyarados dodged the bullet seeds and headed straight towards Grovyle. This is the perfect time. "Now Grovyle climb on top of Gyarados and use leaf blade." It was very effective. Gyarados was taken aback. "Let's give it are all. Gyarados use hyper beam." Gyarados started gathering all energy to use for hyper beam. "Grab and reflect the hyper beam using leaf storm.
"WHAT?" Misty said shockingly. That made no sense. But, what a surprise! Grovyle reflected the hyper beam and it hit Gyarados with all force. Gyarados fainted. "Gyarados is unable to battle, Grovyle wins. That means winner of this match is Tag." Rotom drone announced. "YES!" Tag embraced Grovyle.
"You did a great job. I mean you surprised me. I hope you will reach greater heights in future." Misty said handing Tag his Cascade Badge. "I will." Misty thumped his back. Tag started blushing and softly said "Umm… you inspire me a lot too Misty."
It was another beautiful day in Cerulean City. Misty trained her pokémons every day in the morning. Then she refreshed them for battles by giving them to nurse Joy in the Pokémon center. She was about to leave early in the morning to the sea shore to train her pokémons. "Everybody ready!" Misty excitedly asked her pokémons. Her pokémons screamed yes in their own language. She was half way to the shore when she saw someone familiar working with medicinal shrubs in the garden of Mr. Steve. Mr. Steve was a retired pokémon doctor and was popularly called grandpa Steve by little children. He was a happy man who loved pokémons and children. He had a garden where he grew many types of medicinal herbs, shrubs, etc. to treat pokémons. In the garden, there were many apple trees from which he made candies and gave to the children. His doors were always open for everybody. "Hey Tag!" Misty called. Tag who was ruffling through the shrubs looked up. "Hey!". He approached Misty. "What are you doing here?" Misty enquired. "Nothing just helping my grandfather."
"Everybody calls him grandpa here." Misty said jokingly. "No, he is my real grandfather." Tag said. "Oh!"
"By the way Misty, where are you heading to?" Tag asked. "Oh! I was heading to the beach to train my pokémons. "Can I join you. My work here is almost done." "Yeah! Sure, you are most welcome."
The sea shore was very beautiful. The sun was shining on the waves and the sand. A perfect place for pokémon training and maybe romance….
Misty and Tag both trained their pokémons. It was very fun for them and they got to know each other and their pokémons better. It was time for Misty to go to the Pokémon center.
"Hey! Tag now its time for me to head to the Pokémon center and then I will go to the gym." "Yeah. It was really fun with you here." Tag said. Misty turned and started leaving for the Pokémon center. "Wait! There is something more I need to say to you." Misty turned around. "Yeah!" "Umm… I know that tomorrow the gym will be off." "Yes. The gym is off on the last Sunday of the month. It is like a little me time for me and my pokémons." Misty said with a smile. Tag blushed and said, "I was thinking maybe we should go to the water theme park tomorrow." It was a date. "What!" Misty looked down. She had feelings for someone else but also did not want to disappoint Tag. "Look. I…"
Just then her Psyduck came out of its poke ball and gave Misty a side eye. Misty looked at him angrily and asked it to return to its poke ball.
It was now dark. Misty was sitting alone in the battle field of her gym. Her legs were dipped in the water. Moonlight which was coming through the glass above, which dimly lighted the arena. Misty was confused. But also, too sad to be confused. She had fallen in love with only one person, Ash Ketchum. She looked in the water. All the memories of him came rushing back to her. He was a naïve pokémon trainer when she met him. They travelled and grew up together. Slowly and slowly, she fell for him. It was the most devastating day of her life when she could not travel with him anymore as she had to look after the Cerulean City gym. She had decided to tell Ash how she feels. Ash was returning tomorrow to Kanto from his journey in Kalos. She frequently talked to him. He was travelling with his pokémons and friends Serena, Clemont and Bonnie in Kalos. He was the runner up in the Kalos league.
"Maybe I am just stupid." Misty murmured to herself. She came to know from Clemont that Serena kissed Ash when they were departing at the airport which she could not do when they had to go their separate ways. "Maybe she is the one for him." She struggled very hard to choose between her first love who had just had his first kiss and denning but charming and handsome Tag. She just wanted to bawl her eyes out. After a long period of silently crying and fading herself from any emotions she decided that it was best to fix everything tomorrow and then she went to bed.
