Hello everyone! Tempest The SeaWing here with a new FanFic! I hope you will enjoy it. This is just the first chapter of Silver Threads, told from Moonflower's perspective. Now, without further ado, let's take flight.

A New Friend And Algebra

I sat at my desk staring down at my math scroll with narrowed silver eyes.I don't understand the math that our teacher was explaining to us.

''I don't blame Cinderheart though, It isn't her best subject when teaching students.' I thought to myself with a small frown.

I sighed again and put my talons on my chin in thought. 'I don't know what 5X even means! Three Moons! This is so confusing!' I thought to myself with a frustrated sigh. 'Maybe mother can help me.' I thought to myself with a bright smile, I nodded my head my mind made up, I got up from my desk and made my way down the marbled hallways of the SilverWing Palace.

When I finally arrived at the entrance to my mother's chambers, I suddenly stopped in my tracks. The doors were closed, witch meant she was having a very important meeting. I had completely forgotten about that, with a sigh, I turned on my heals and decided to look for anyone else who could help me with my mathematic equations.

As I walked around the hallways I was looking around and as a result, I ended up bumping into someone. I looked up to see a SilverWing with light silvery scales and dark silvery patterns under her wings.

"Oh... I'm sorry." I replied in a hurry, as I slowly looked up at the other SilverWing dragonet.

"Oh... u-um hi! Haha! Your the Princess, omg I'm really meeting you. Ohh... sorry, my name's Spark. It's nice to meet you." I laughed quietly at Spark, she's really nice if a bit quirky, but... Oh well.

"Nice to meet you as well. I love your patterns on your wings, I've never seen anything like that before." I said, pointing a talon at her wings.

She blushed with pride. "R-really? Thanks, U-um... is there anything that I can help you with?" Spark asked, and I grinned widely and nodded. Spark smiled and looked up at me with curious dark silver eyes.

"Well It might sound silly and stupid but... are you any good at algebra? If you are... then could you please help me with my math?" I asked, grinning sheepishly and fiddling with my necklace nervously.

Spark laughed quietly and grinned cheekily at me. Then after a few moments of silence, she spoke up.

"That's not silly, and yes and yes! I'll help you and yes I'm a master at algebra. I'll help you... um... I never caught your name." Spark remarked with a frown and a small smile.

"Ohh, right. Sorry... my name's Moonflower, I forgot to say my name earlier. Tee hee!" I replied, with a laugh and a sheepish smile. Spark nodded and we then headed to the library to study math equations.

"Can I call you Moon?" Spark asked, as we made our way to the palace's Library. I nodded and Spark smiled brightly at me.

"You bet, of corse you can Spark! Everyone calls me that, so I don't mind." I say, smiling brightly at Spark, who smiles back at me.

The library was about three stories high, dragons come here to look for all sorts of varieties of different scrolls. There were scrolls about the Diamond Trial, scrolls about how the system of the circles worked, scrolls about medicines and herbal treatments for all sorts of wounds and many many more. The library was my favorite place, I was a very frequent visitor. The library was one of the few places that was open to the public.

By the time we had finished, it had turned dark out and the sun had set hours ago. My eyes widened and I quickly rolled up my scroll and was about to spread my wings but Spark spoke up, stoping me before I could take flight.

"Can I fly with you? I wouldn't want you flying in the dark alone, it's not safe." Spark admonished sounding like my mother. I laughed quietly and we both spread our wings and flew out of the library and headed in the derection of the SilverWing palace.

We flew in through my bedroom window and just as we landed on the carpeted floor, a knock was heard on my door. I ran to get it with Spark following close behind.

I swung the door open and standing on the other side was my mother, Queen Silverheart. She smiled warmly when she saw me standing there, then her eyes landed on Spark, who could only stare in complete aw, then, almost as if realizing who she was standing in front of, Spark bowed to my mother, who just laughed quietly and made a motion with her tail for Spark to rais her head.

"Hello mother, this is my new friend, Spark. Is it okay if she stays here in the palace tonight?" I asked, and my mother smiled warmly and nodded her head. I smiled and raced up and embraced her tightly.

"Thank you, mother. Oh, and Spark helped me complete my algebra equations." I replied, turning to Spark with a bright smile. Spark smiled and rubbed the back of her neck with a sheepish smile.

"Hay mother, where's Nightlight? Is she better yet? Can I see her? Can I? Can I? Can I?" I asked, and my mother slowly nodded and I smiled in relief, my little sister's going to be okay. She had gotten pretty banged up by a group of SkyWings, she's been slowly coming out of her shell, the only person that she talks to is me, she won't even talk to our mother. Nightlight is a SilverWing/NightWing hybrid like me, my eyes are dark purple with silver teardrops underneath each of my eyes.

"Who's Nightlight?" Spark asked, tilting her head to the side curiously. I turned to my friend to answer her question.

"Nightlight is my little sister, she's 4-years-old and I'm 5-years-old." I explained, and Spark's eyes brightened as she listened to me talk about my little sister.

"Wow! You must really care a lot about your little sister, don't you, Moon?" Spark remarked, with a warm smile on her face, I nodded and smiled cheekily at her.

"Yeah! Of course I do, she's my sister. Hay! Maybe you can meet her tomorrow!" I exclaimed, carful to keep my voice low so that I wouldn't wake anyone up, it was in the middle of the night.

"Omg! That would be awesome! But wouldn't she be really shy around me cause I'm new and all that stuff." Spark remarked with a slight frown. I just smiled cheekily and shrugged my wings.

"Don't know, I guess we'll just have to wait and see." I replied with a wide grin, Spark laughed and grinned back at me.

"What time is it, now that I think about it." Spark spoke suddenly, I looked up from my scroll and I swept my gaze outside to the window, where the sun was just starting to rise in the sky. The threads of twilight were just beginning to turn the sky a gorgeous pink.

"Three Moons! We've been up all night talking! Wow! Time flies when your having fun." I remarked with wide eyes and a cheeky grin on my face. I then turned to Spark, who was watching the sunrise, I smiled and patted over to the window and took a seat next to Spark.

"The sunrise sure is breathtaking isn't it?" Spark remarked, with a bright smile on her face and I nodded and turned back to the window.

"What do you want to do today?" I asked, and Spark turned to me with a thoughtful look on her face. She put her talons on her chin in thought, and after a few moments of silence, she answered my question.

"I don't know, what do you want to do?" She replied, with a small frown. I laughed quietly and shrugged my wings in response.

Then after a short while, Spark spoke up to break the silence.

"I know, how about we go for an early morning flight?" Spark exclaimed, with a wide grin and an excited flap of her wings. I smiled and nodded my head in agreement.

I grinned cheekily up at my new friend. It has always been hard to be friends with other dragon's either they are using me or just want a trip to Queen Silverheart's pretty palace. So, it mainly has been me and me, then me and Nightshimmer and now I have Nightshimmer and Spark. I am nothing but a lucky dragon.
