Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first chapter of my newest Digimon story! It's been a long time since I wrote anything, and I wasn't sure for the longest time what to write, but then I learned about a new Digimon called Gammamon and Digimon Ghost Game and started getting some ideas. I've also been drawing some inspiration from this small town I've been living in recently, and after giving it some thought, I decided to combine the two together and make my very own Digimon adventure. I call it... Digimon Unbound!

The story takes place in a small town that I made up called Wynston. It tells about a boy named Tyson and some of the crazy things that happen in town because of the Digimon mysteriously appearing. With the help of Gammamon, they should be able to uncover the mystery and put the town back to normal. Or at least as normal as it gets. Lol

As you can probably tell, I took some elements from the Digimon series that're commonly used, but I was hoping to add my own spin to things here and there. As to what those may be, I'm not sure. Guess you'll just have to read and find them out for yourself! With that that said, enjoy the first chapter!

DIGIMON UNBOUND

Episode 1: A Small Town. What Can Happen?

Wynston Middle School, Wynston, Wisconsin, USA (Day Time)

It was a bright and sunny day in the real world. There were hardly any clouds in the sky, so the chance for any overcast weather was unlikely, especially in a small Wisconsin town called Wynston. A small town west of Lake Winnebago, and surrounded by beautiful nature trails and greenery everywhere you'd look.

Currently, we find ourselves taken to the town middle school, where the students were right now outside enjoying the fresh air and sun. Some were hanging out with their friends, while others were off doing their own things. However, a small group of students were in the middle of a friendly game of soccer. Each one of them were fighting for that ball. Trying to out best one another and score a goal. One student in particular was trying his hardest. A young male named Tyson Grainger.

He was a fair skinned boy with dark blue eyes and short, messy dark brown hair in a stylish fashion. He wore a red shirt with a yellow stripe across the torso underneath a short sleeved, navy blue hoodie with white draw strings, and wore dark brown jeans with black shoes that had white laces, toe guards and mid and undersoles, which were all getting dirty as he ran across the field chasing after the other team player who had the ball on him. Unfortunately, Tyson was unable to reach that other team player in time as he kicked the ball into his team's goal and the goalie was unable to stop it, giving the other team the point.

"Ah nuts...!" he exclaimed as he stopped to catch his breath, while the other team were ecstatic for scoring.

Some students were watching this game, and among them was a young African American male with an almond skin tone, dark brown eyes, and a black, fade hairstyle. He wore a black shirt underneath a dark green jacket with chest pockets that had silver buttons, dark blue jeans, and red shoes with white laces and mid and undersoles. He also had a pair of black trimmed glasses over his eyes, which were set upon the panting Tyson.

"You know, you could've caught up to him quicker if you went left instead of right back there." he stated with a smirk and arms crossed.

"Don't... start with me... Andre..." Tyson panted out as he shot a slightly annoyed look towards the African American named Andre. "You know, if you know so much about the game, why don't you try playing it?"

"Like to, but I think I'll pass." Andre replied, already fiddling with his smartphone.

"Figured you'd say that." sighed Tyson, but quickly got back to the game as his team now had the ball, and in a flash, he ran with them towards the other team's goal.

For a moment, one of his teammates had the ball, but quickly passed it when he saw a chance to, and then the that player passed the ball when he almost got overwhelmed by too many opposing team players. Receiving that pass was none other than Tyson, who smirked and took that ball straight ahead, using some quick reflexes to evade the other team players when they tried to steal the ball from him. Eventually, he got close enough to the other team's goal and shouted as he made took the shot, kicking it hard pass the other team's goalie and scored the point for his team. They cheered because of it, and even some of the students watching gave a little cheer for Tyson's impressive scoring, along with Andre.

"Ah yeah!" Tyson grinned, throwing his arms in the air in joy before brining them back down to give a thumbs up and winked. "That's what I'm talking about!"

Later, the school bell ranged, signaling the end the of school day, and all the students wasted no time rushing out of the building to either go home or do something else entirely. Among the many that were leaving was Tyson and Andre, who walked side by side as they exited the building and went down the sidewalk, each carrying a backpack. Tyson's backpack was dark brown, and Andre was carrying a pale blue one.

"I'm telling you, Ty... I think you have a shot at making the soccer league someday." stated Andre with his smartphone in hand.

"You think so, huh?" Tyson replied with his arms behind his head.

"Why not? You're clearly good at it." Andre admitted.

"Eh... I don't know." Tyson responded with his eyes pointed up at the sky. "Soccer's fun and all, but I don't know I'd see myself as a big time league player."

"And what do you see yourself as?" asked Andre as he shifted his eyes towards Tyson.

Tyson then took a moment to close his eyes and thought about Andre's question before increasing his pace and got a little bit ahead of him. "Not sure."

"What?!" Andre's eyes widen in shock as he hurried to keep pace with him. "What do you mean you're not sure? Haven't you figured out what you're going to be or do when you grow up?"

"Nope, and I'm not going to go lose any sleep over it." Tyson replied as he reopened his eyes and smiled. "Because I'm more focused on the present. I'll worry about the future when the time comes."

"You know, a lot of people say that, but when the future does come, they end up worrying a lot more then they thought." stated Andre as he gave Tyson a slight look of disbelief. "How do I know that? My dad told me he been down that road before and that I should always plan ahead."

"All right, mister smart guy..." Tyson shifted his now half opened eyes towards Andre. "What're you going to do when you grow up?"

"Easy!" exclaimed Andre as he smiled and looked at his smartphone. "I want to work in the technical department. Like making new designs in the stuff we use, or maybe in technical engineering, or even computer graphics designing. I could make my own video game!"

"Well, if you happen to do that, let me know." Tyson smirked. "I'll test it out for you."

The two couldn't help but find that funny as they shut their eyes and laughed, unaware that another presence was coming up in front of them. "With the way you take tests, Tyson, I don't think that's a good idea." said a young female voice that snapped the two boys out of their joyous laugh and were shocked to see a young girl their age standing before them.

She was slightly pale skinned girl with shoulder length, dark red hair that was waving near the bottom and dark green eyes. She wore a light blue shirt underneath a short sleeved white jacket with pale pink outlining, a matching white, pleated skirt with pale black, knee length socks and white sneakers with a touch pink and pale blue. Around her left wrist was a silver bracelet and strapped around her left shoulder was a pale yellow purse that hung on her right side.

She smiled and waved to the two boys. "Hey, guys. What are you talking about?"

"Oh, uh... Hey... Kayla..." Tyson responded nervously with widen eyes as he then scratched the back of his head. "We were just... uh... talking about... what we want to be... in the future and... stuff..."

"Oh really?!" the girl named Kayla's smile widen. "That sounds neat! What are you guys going to be then?"

Tyson was trying to find the words to respond, but Andre sighed when he noticed how long he was taking and decided to answer first. "Well, I plan on working with computers, and maybe expand more into all that other tech stuff, you know?" he smiled.

"That doesn't sound like much of a surprise, coming from you." Kayla admitted as she adjusted her purse strap. "You're really into all that computer stuff. You're such a geek, Andre."

Andre closed his eyes and laughed with embarrassment at that remark. "Guilty as charged..."

"And what about you, Ty?" Kayla shifted her smile towards Tyson, who was taken by surprise.

"Huh?! Uh... I uh..." Tyson sweated a little. "I... don't know yet! W-What about you?"

"Me?" Kayla blinked in slight surprise as she took a moment to think. "Hmmm... Not really sure. Too many choices, honestly."

"You can't be serious!" Andre was surprised. "Don't tell me you haven't figured out a plan for your future like Tyson here!"

"I'm telling you, man... It's better to think about the here and now than what might come next." Tyson smirked and shifted his eyes towards his friend, which gave him a slightly annoyed look back from him, while Kayla laughed about it.

"Can't argue with that one." she stated before turning away slightly and waved. "Anyway, I'll catch up with you guys later. See ya!"

"Uh yeah...! See you later and all that..." Tyson replied as he watched Kayla run off in another direction, then let out a loud sigh once she was gone.

"Dude, you have got to stop getting so nervous around that girl." Andre stated with a serious expression towards his friend. "It's a little embarrassing."

"I can't help it, okay?" replied Tyson. "I like her, all right?"

"I like her too, but you don't see me getting all nervous and sweaty about it." Andre pointed out as he gave Tyson a slight look of disbelief, then he turned away a bit. "Anyway, I got to head home. Sooner I get the homework done the better."

"Yeah I guess..." Tyson replied, then smiled. "You still up for Fortnite later tonight?"

"You bet!" Andre smiled as he and Tyson bumped the back of their hands together. "Best duo team around!"

"Yeah!" exclaimed Tyson as he watched Andre run off and went around a corner, then he adjusted his backpack and took off in another direction back to his home, running pass some of the stores and other local stops and eateries across town, unaware that something strange was going on with the telephone wires as some gave off a small surge of electricity outside of them.

Inside the Network System

Somewhere within the network, billions and billions of pieces of data are constantly being moved from one place to another. Like flowing tunnels of ones and zeroes. Never straying off their destined paths. However, for a brief moment, all those ones and zeroes started to scramble and glowed bright blue as a bright white light suddenly emerged, along with a small creature that shot right out of it. It gave a little joyous laugh as it went zooming down the tunnels of data as they returned to their normal flowing state, but while they continued their normal pathways, as for this creature, where it was going, one could not say.

Grainger Residence, Wynston, Wisconsin, USA (Day Time)

After leaving his friend Andre, Tyson ran all the way back to his home, which resided in one of the small neighborhoods in town. Some leaves covered the side of the roads, and there were trees just about everywhere you look, so there weren't too many spots getting in big patches of sunshine. Amongst the houses was a small one story that was white and beige. It had a sense of old to it, but was worked on some time ago to give it that modern day feel, and Tyson was seen slowing his pace till he reached the driveway, which had a pale red car parked on it, then made his way to the front door and went inside.

"Mom...! I'm home...!" he shouted the moment he was inside.

"Oh thank goodness." said an adult woman's voice in the background. "I was just about to call you, too."

Coming around the corner was Tyson's mother Ms. Grainger. A single mother and was working for the town community center. She appeared a little frantic as she had fair skin like her son, but had brown eyes instead, along with long, black hair that was neatly brushed. She wore a white blouse underneath a long sleeved black suit jacket that was unzipped, matching long, black pants, and pale red flats. She also had a touch of makeup on her face and she was fiddling with her smartphone while she paced around the house, which confused Tyson.

"Whoa, mom... What's going on?" he asked as he walked into the living room.

"Nothing." she replied as she finished sending out a text before turning her gaze towards her son. "I just need to head down to the center. Tammy's not feeling well and they asked if I could step in for her tonight."

"But isn't tonight your night off?" Tyson replied, baffled. "Can't they get someone else to cover for her?"

"Not many can do her job, and besides it helps bring in extra money for the bills." she joked, which gave Tyson a little chuckle. "So, it's just going to be you tonight. I'm sure you'll be all right. You're old enough."

"Well, duh... I'm almost a teenager, mom." Tyson smirked.

"Don't remind me." his mother replied as she resumed her pacing around again. "I made dinner. It's in the fridge. All you have to do is warm it up. You know where the emergency contact numbers are, just in case something happens."

"Mom, what can happen?" Tyson asked as he spread his arm out after taking his backpack off. "We live in a small town. Nothing crazy ever happens around here."

"Well, you never know." she replied as she came over to her son and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Be good. Don't burn the house down, and if not home in time, you know when to go to bed."

"Yeah yeah, I know..." Tyson chuckled and smiled as he watched his mother smile back and went out the door.

Once she was outside, Ms. Grainger entered the pale red car parked in their driveway and started it up. Then, she slowly drove it out of the driveway and onto the streets. Tyson watched from the window as she took off for the town community center. As soon as she was out of sight, the boy let out a small sigh as he walked back further into the house, taking off his jacket and stood for a moment in the living room as he pondered on what to do next. He then made his way to the screen door and looked out at his backyard that had no fences, but it wasn't just his house that didn't have them. Not many of the houses around town had them.

"You know, it would be kind of interesting if something crazy did happen around here." he thought about that, but after a moment of silence, he laughed. "What am I saying? That kind of thing only happens in the movies, am I right?"

When he turned back however, he realized that he was the only person in the house. "Oh... That's right... It's just me here..." he frowned and sighed as he put his hands in his pockets. "...I really need to stop talking to myself."

Wynston, Wisconsin, USA (Evening Time)

Meanwhile, everything and everyone continued going about their day in the small town of Wynston, and the sun was beginning to set, giving the sky that bright orange color. Business were finishing up for the day, while others were continuing into the night. At the town community center, some were working into the night, while others were on their way out. Ms. Grainger was amongst those staying, since she was called in, but she wasn't that upset about it, for she was too involved with the work she was given.

She wasn't the only one. Out in the streets, an electrician had been inspecting the telephone pole generators across town and was baffled for some reason. Once he had finished checking one more near an intersection, he was seen putting his tools away into his truck, then wiped some cold sweat off his brow.

"Hey, Hank!" a passing by man called out to the electrician with a smile. "How's it going?"

"You tell me." the electrician named Hank replied as he slammed his truck's trunk door shut. "We got a call about some weird electrical problems going around in the area, so they sent me and some others to check out the town. Only problem is that I can't find anything wrong with anything out here."

"Maybe it was a prank." the passing by man replied. "Or maybe it hasn't reached here yet."

"Or maybe there's nothing wrong at all." Hank rolled his eyes and went back to putting the rest of his tools away in his truck. "Whatever... I get payed either way."

With that being said, the passing by man continued on his way and left Hank alone. However, while Hank's back was turned, electricity started to surge out of the telephone pole generator till it suddenly went out and was going down the wires, as if it was alive and following a trail or something.

Grainger Residence, Wynston, Wisconsin, USA (Night Time)

Back at Tyson's home, despite being home alone, the boy managed to find some entertainment for himself as the night settled in outside. Just as he and Andre promised, they were at it on the game Fortnite. Tyson was in his bedroom with his headset on as he communicated back and forth with Andre as they played the battle royale duo. So far, they came close to winning, but no victory yet and they were determined to get at least one for the night.

"Okay, come on... We're almost there, Andre!" Tyson exclaimed as he was in hyper focus mode, not wanting to take his eye off his television screen for a second. "This one's ours! Be sure to pick up that shield juice."

"I'm on it, I'm on it!" shouted Andre from television as he had his character do what Tyson's instructed. "Got it! Wait... I see them! I see them!"

"Shoot 'em! Shoot 'em!" Tyson exclaimed back as he had his character take out his best weapons and combined with Andre to fire away at the remaining enemy team. "Come on...! Come on...! Don't let them build over us!"

"Taking out their structures!" Andre had his character do just that, leaving the enemy team almost wide open.

"That's it!" Tyson grinned as he had his character go in for a closer shot and managed to take out the last enemy team, giving he and Andre the win they wanted. "YES!"

"About time!" Andre admitted and sounded a bit exhausted while Tyson threw his arms up in the air in joy.

"See? Told you we could do it." Tyson stated as he put his arms down and smiled. "Best duo team around, remember?

"Yeah, but that was a little too close for comfort." Andre pointed out. "I honestly thought we weren't going to win that one either."

"Well, you thought wrong." Tyson replied. "So... Want to go again? Make it two for two?"

"Like too, but it's getting kind of late and dinner's almost ready, so I think I'll pass." Andre replied, which was a slight surprise to Tyson. "But this was definitely fun, as always. We'll go again next time, all right?"

"Yeah... sure..." Tyson frowned and turned his eyes towards the floor, a bit disappointed.

"I'll see you in school tomorrow. Night, Ty." Andre said before signing off, leaving Tyson alone.

Once he was by himself again, Tyson was silent for a moment. Eventually, he was about to try a solo match on the game, but sighed again and stopped. "What's the point?" he said as took his headset off. "It's not as much fun when you got no one to talk to."

He then turned his head towards his desk and gazed at his backpack before letting out another sigh. "Might as well get that homework done." he got up and made his way to his desk, but stopped and was surprised the moment he touched his chair when the lights in his room started to act strangely. They kept dimming and brightening back and forth, which confused the boy, and it wasn't just in his room, but every other light in the house. "What's going on?" he asked, but then heard something strange outside that caught his attention. "Huh?"

He went over to his window and opened the blinds, which allowed him to notice the strange trail of electricity from earlier flow down the telephone wires in his neighborhood. "What's that?!" his eyes went wide in surprise as he watched it go, but then raced to the other side of the house to look out another window and spotted it heading down the street and made a quick turn. "What in the world was that?"

For a moment, he pondered about what he just saw, and as he did, a thought was coming to mind. One he was actually trying to talk himself out of. "No. No! I know what you're thinking." he told himself as he shut his eyes and shook his head. "Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Dang it!"

Unable to talk himself out of it, Tyson reopened his eyes and raced back to get his jacket. Once he had it on, he went outside to his garage to pick up his bike. Afterwards, he opened the garage door and zoomed right out to catch up to that strange electrical trail. "This is crazy!" he told himself. "But nothing crazy ever happens around here, right? ...Right?!"

Abandoned House, Wynston, Wisconsin, USA (Night Time)

It didn't take long before Tyson was able to catch up to the electrical trail, which was seen making another turn towards an abandoned house in the neighborhood, one that was covered by tall grass, moss, and was hardly noticeable, even for a two story that was pure white in color. Once Tyson saw it head into that house, he came to a stop and his eyes went wide.

"You've gotta be kidding me. In there?" he asked himself, then debated on going in to check it out. "Come on, Tyson... Don't do it. It's probably nothing."

Unfortunately, he was unable to talk himself out of it again as he was then seen coming up to one of the boarded windows and managed to find one that was loose. He then pried said board off with little effort and took a peak inside, noticing how old, dusty, and runed down the place was. "Jeez... Talk about old and in a serious need of a clean." he stated, but then his eyes went wide when he spotted the electrical trail somehow running off the old wires and made its way towards the back rooms. "Now where do you think you're going?"

Tyson then squeezed his way through the boarded window and entered the house, and once he was inside, he slowly made his way to the back rooms while avoiding some of the falling apart parts of the house. Eventually, he saw a bright, light blue light coming from one of the rooms and slowly made his way towards the open door. He took a peak and spotted an old computer monitor that was hooked up to an old PC system from the ninety's. They both were giving off a strange electrical surge, though small, and the monitor was flashing on and off.

"What is this...?" asked Tyson as he slowly made his way into the room, noticing some old boxes were lying around as well, but his eyes were more focused on the old computer system before him. "An old computer? Too bad Andre's not here. He'd get a real kick out of this thing."

He then took a moment to inspect the machine, baffled. "How in the world is this thing even on?" he pondered, but then gasped when the electrical surge around the old computer system intensified, making the boy back up. "W-What's happening?!"

The electricity continued to intensify more and more, which gave Tyson a bit of fright as he used an arm to shield himself from the sparks flying out of it. Eventually, the computer monitor begun to shake as the PC system made strange sounds. Tyson had his eyes shut and was ready to dash out, but he dropped his arm a bit and opened one eye slightly to spot something coming out of the monitor. At first, he thought he was seeing things, but that quickly changed when something indeed came flying right out and over his head. It gave a joyous laugh as it landed behind some boxes, which shocked Tyson even more as the old computer system shut down and almost fell apart.

However, the computer wasn't on Tyson's mind. Whatever came out of it was. He slowly dropped his arm and panted just slightly, unsure of what happened or what he saw fly over his head. Still, having had come this far, he let his curiosity get the better of him as he slowly approached the boxes, but he picked up a piece of broken board off the ground, just in case whatever it was wasn't friendly. He positioned it to swing it at any moment, and once he was near the boxes, he peaked over and spotted nothing, which confused him. "Huh...? What...?"

But, whatever he was looking for wasn't behind the boxes. Not anymore. Instead, a shadow was cast on his back, and as Tyson turned around, his eyes went wide. Wider than any time they had before, for what he saw, standing on top of some other boxes, was a small, bipedal creature that was almost half of Tyson's height with three horns like a Triceratops and was white in color with black-tipped horns and tail, red tipped spikes on the back of its head, and dark violet-tipped claws on all four of its limbs. It also had yellow eyes and a small black nose, and wore a blue bandana around its neck and a red bracelet around its left wrist.

The creature starred at the boy for a moment as it smiled, then waved hello as it spoke in a young male voice. "Hi there!"

Tyson, however, blinked a couple time before suddenly letting out a scream, which shocked the creature as he screamed back. They kept at this for a moment before Tyson swung the piece of board he had without thinking, surprising the creature. "Whoa...! Hey...!" he shouted as he jumped out of he way so that Tyson only hit boxes instead. "Cut that out!"

But, Tyson continued to swing the piece of board at the creature, and the little guy kept dodging each time Tyson unthoughtfully came at him till he had his back against the wall. "Uh oh." he said as he saw Tyson come at him one more time, but, this time, the little creature caught the board with his hands and was now a bit annoyed, which surprised Tyson. "Will you stop swinging this thing around?! You're gonna hurt someone! And by someone I specifically mean me."

Once the creature had the board, he took it and threw it away. Tyson watched with widen eyes as it was sent flying, then looked back at the creature and backed up, still frightened by him. "Who... What... are you...?"

"Who am I?" the creature asked back, confused at first, but then smiled and pointed at himself. "My name is Gammamon. What's your name?"

"Uh... I-It's... T-Tyson...?" Tyson hesitantly replied as he calmed down just a little.

"Tyson? That's a weird name!" the creature named Gammamon laughed with his eyes closed, which surprised Tyson.

"I-It is not!" he exclaimed before shaking his head and finally decided to calm down completely, now curious. "What...are you anyway?"

"What am I? That's easy!" Gammamon put one hand on his hips and pointed at himself again with the other. "I'm a Digimon! Short for Digital Monster, get it?"

"No..." Tyson shook his head, confused. "Not... really...?"

"Oh... Well, okay then..." Gammamon dropped his arm, unsure of what to make of Tyson's response, but decided to ignore it as he looked around for a moment before facing him again. "Hey, can I ask a question now?"

"Um... Sure...?" Tyson replied hesitantly, though was unsure if he wanted to know what the question would be.

"Do you know where I am?" Gammamon asked, which made Tyson's eyes wide.

"Oh boy..." he shifted his eyes away, unsure of what to tell the little guy, for he didn't have the slightest idea who, what or where he came from and sweatdropped. "...What did I get myself into?"

TO BE CONTINUED...

And so ends the first chapter. Hope you guys liked it! In case you missed them, here are a couple of interesting things from the actual series that were placed in this chapter.

The first one was the name Tyson. When you look back, a lot of the main leader characters usually have a name that starts with "Tai", whether it's in the original Japanese version or the American dubbed version. However, for this, I mixed it up and went with something more American, like "Ty" in the name Tyson. Pretty nice, don't you agree?

Another thing was the use of an old 1990's computer to bring Gammamon out. Looking back, Digimon, it's original work, was made back in 1997. Just thought I throw that in there as a little easter egg. Bet some of you didn't know that, but if you did, then good for you!

What's going to happen now that something "crazy" has happened in this small town? Well, so far it's only on Tyson, but this'll surely bring more later on. The town's soon going to be turned upside down! Till next time, everyone! Have a good day!
