"Cat, we're getting hot chocolate. And its not that cold out," Ladybug said to Cat Noir. While Ladybug only wore a scarf around her neck Cat wore a black coat making him like a black marshmallow. He also wore earmuffs and boots on his feet.
"I can barely move, M'lady," Cat said, his arms sticking straight out. He was already sweating, and his face had turned a bit red.
They ventured out into the bright cold sunlight. "Are we going to get coffee?" Cat asked, hopefully. "Yes, eventually. I thought it be good to get out for awhile and stretch our legs."
Cat looked around at the snow covered streets. "Where is everybody, anyway?" he asked. "Probably at home where its nice and warm," Ladybug told him. "Its nice to get out in the sunshine though," he said.
The sky was a brilliant blue, and even though it was cold out, Ladybug felt happy. It was hard to be "cooped up" in her small sewer apartment during winter.
"Its kind of nice having the streets of Paris empty for a change," Cat said. In the stillness you could hear your footsteps and the crunch of new fallen snow. "Did you get tired of the news media chasing you?" she teased.
"M'lady, this Cat is always ready for a picture. But its nice to have a break once in awhile." Cat didn't mind this quiet day, if he had just been Adrien Agreste wandering around the streets of Paris, even then the press might have chased him.
"I don't why they do it sometimes anyway," Ladybug said. "Especially during a akuma fight. I mean, we're just doing our job."
Cat nodded, but he was only half-listening. Fresh snow on the ground made the purr-fect opportunity for snowballs.
He wasn't sure though when he would get his chance, since they were still walking. They walked to the Paris square, and Ladybug stopped suddenly. "Oof! M'lady, what's wrong?" Cat asked. His green eyes scanned the area for little black butterflies, but luckily didn't see any.
"No, nothing's wrong, I guess. But isn't that Andre wearing that red, white, and blue scarf over there?" Ladybug placed one hand on Cat's shoulder, while the other pointed to the ice cream man.
They looked at each other, and with silent agreement, went to go investigate. "Ladybug! Cat Noir! What a surprise! Isn't it a little cold out for a walk?"
"We just wanted to get some fresh air," Ladybug explained. "And Cat wanted to try on his new coat," she giggled. "Don't worry, Andre," Cat said, nudging his best friend. "I'm nice and warm."
"I decided to sell bags of birdseed instead of ice cream during the winter. Won't the pigeons be happy?!"
Ladybug held up her hands. "It sounds like a good idea. But how did you get Officer Roger to go along with it? He doesn't like pigeons at the park." "Ah, I talked both to the mayor and Officer Roger. At first they were reculant to do it, but I reminded them a lot of tourist come to see the pigeons.
"Well," Ladybug said, grinning. "We'll take two bags, please!" She dropped the coins into Andre's hand and looked at Cat. "You ready to feed some pigeons, Kitty?" she asked.
"But, M'lady, what about the feathers?" he asked. Cat was allergic to feathers and even if he wanted to feed them, he did not to be sneezing!
"It'll will be fine," she said, taking his hand. "I promise."
And she was right. They scattered the seeds and the birds came flying. It was fun to watch the birds peck up the seeds excitedly and happily cooing.
"Reminds me of when you snore," Ladybug teased Cat, elbowing him in the ribs. Cat crossed his arms indignantly. "Excuse me, Bugaboo. I meow, not snore!"
"Well, you kick in your sleep," Cat grumbled. "Only sometimes." "If you kick me out of bed even by accident, M'lady you owe me a stack of pancakes," Cat said. Ladybug grinned, and stuck out her hand. "Deal," she said, shaking Cat's hand.
"Yes!" Cat pumped the air with his fist. "Wait a minute. Now you'll want me to kick you out of bed just get free pancakes," she told him. "And besides, if I'm asleep when it happens, how do you know your not cheating by lying down on the floor?"
Cat pointed to his chest, a innocent but hurt look on his face. "Me? Cheat? Never!" "Kitty, I've played enough games with you on game night to know that's not true."
Cat jumped up and stood in front of Ladybug. "There's only one way to settle this!" He told her. She swung her legs against the garden wall. "Snowball fight!"
Finally, Cat had gotten his chance to chuck some snowballs! Ladybug leaped up, and the pigeons scattered.
Ladybug was good at rolling snowballs, but Cat Noir was faster. They giggled and ducked as they pelted each other with the fresh white powder.
"I give up!" Ladybug laughed awhile later. Cat lifted her up and swung her in a circle. "Are you sure, M'lady?" "Yes, yes. I'm sure."
Cat lowered her slowly, and she could feel herself sliding down his muscular body. "My Lady," he whispered, then kissed her.
The world was bright and white, and Ladybug kissed him back, the cold bite to the air was nothing compared to Cat's warm lips.
"I think I'm ready for that hot chocolate now, M'lady," he whispered. They headed in the direction of Starbucks, waving goodbye to Andre.
Their drink order came quickly, as Cat and Ladybug were the only ones in the coffee shop. "Here's to snoring and to being silly!" Ladybug said, clinking her cup against Cat's.
Sipping their warm drinks, Cat and Ladybug headed for home, holding hands. The sun was started to set, the sunset a mix of purples and pinks.
As they climbed down the ladder to get to their sewer apartment, Cat said, "That sure was fun, Bugaboo!"
"Winter is always fun if your dress for it!" Cat laughed, anxious to get out of the very thick coat he was wearing. As they entered their apartment, Ladybug whispered, "Everyday is great, when you spend it with your best friend.
