Hey, one-shot!
Right in time for Christmas! Happy holidays!
"Daddy, wake up!"
"Mom, get your lazy butt up!"
Two adults groan rather childishly, one more than the other, but no one is sure who. The one with raven-hair wakes up first, rubbing his eyes as he tries to adjust to the morning light hitting their room. He curses his wife silently for even desiring a two-floor house, especially since the master bedroom faces where the sun rises every morning. No matter how often he wants black-out curtains, she's forever adamant to wake up with the natural sunlight hitting them.
She begins to stir, pouting at being rudely awakened by her son.
"You brats," she sighs, getting up, her honey-blonde hair sticking out all about like her husbands, "what time is it?"
"It's Christmas morning, mommy!" Her daughter, the younger of the two barging in their room, exclaims with her arms spread out happily.
"Yeah, mom!" Her older son says, crossing his arms with a pout. "You promised you'd wake up early to make us some macarons."
"Pikapi…"
Pikachu wakes up, annoyed at the noise happening. He stretches and shakes his head to get rid of his morning grump, which only leads him to be held by his trainer's daughter. "Aww, good morning, Pika!" She greets, rubbing her cheek against his, making his mood lighten up. He nuzzles happily to her, making her giggle at the love.
Brielle continues to cuddle with Pikachu, with Lyon, her older brother, raises an eyebrow at his two parents, "Did you two end up fighting last night?" He asks innocently, not noticing his two parents freezing at the question. "I just kept hearing mom yell something and I heard something hit the walls. Is that why you two are so tired?"
"For the love of – " his father mutters to himself, but it wasn't loud to be picked up by the kids, although Pikachu does have the decency to blush at the question. There was a reason he wasn't there in the bed last night until the event ended. "No, we didn't fight, bud." His father looks to his blushing wife, who drapes herself with their comforter, hiding from their children. "We were just watching some wrestling."
"Wrestling?" his son asks incredulously.
"Yeah, The Masked Royal was on TV, and he had his protégé fight for his behalf."
"Why didn't you say something?! You know I love the Masked Royal!"
"I'll see if I can get it recorded for you."
"Ew, wrestling is so boring!" Brielle whines, but she then changes the topic, much to her parents' relief, "When are we going to make some macarons?! I'm starving!"
Her mother, still draped over by her comforter, says with a small voice, "Brielle, Lyon, you two head down with Pikachu. Mommy and daddy will be downstairs in a little bit." Her children luckily listen as the two clumsily leave the door, with Pikachu closing the door for them on their behalf. Once they hear the click, Ash turns to his hiding wife.
"You can come out now, Serena," he rolls his eyes at his wife in amusement as she pulls the comforter off her. Her hair still as messy as ever, but from their activities or just sleeping, is still to be debated on. She has a huge blush on her face as she pouts to her chuckling husband.
"Hush. I told you to lock the door," she whines, almost mortified to bear the fact her children almost saw her in her birthday suit. Lyon is the older one of the two and the fact he had to ask that question almost made her regret doing what she did last night. Keyword is 'almost'.
She's just lucky he's as dense as Ash was when he was younger.
He kisses her head, "Sorry, sorry," he apologizes, "but how are you feeling? Last night was something. I forgot how much of a minx you are." He teases, making her have steam come out of her ears.
She turns her head away, "A little sore, but I'll be fine. You are so rough sometimes," she gets up, grasping the duvet around and wrapping it around her, "though, it has been a while." She grabs her clothing from their drawer and quickly puts them on, which lets her throw the duvet to the bed. She begins to use her brush to fix her hair that has grown longer in recent years.
Ash admires her, staring at every inch of her, "You're beautiful, you know that?"
A small giggle escapes her lips, with her turning to face him and gives him a wink, "Only to you." She sighs, "Can't believe it's Christmas. This year went by so quickly." She stretches and sighs in content, "It'll be the new year and then Lyon will finally start his journey in April. I'm sort of excited for him, he's just like you, but with my brains."
"Oh ha-ha, very funny," her husband sarcastically laughs, but it turns to a genuine chuckle, "I'm excited for him. He's going to be great; I just know it." He then changes to his new pair of clothes, hugging his wife with gusto, making her smile happily at the affection. "Let's not let the brats wait too long now, we have Christmas breakfast to do. And then presents."
"Oh, you're right," she grins, "I wonder how they'll react to 'Santa' giving them what they wanted for Christmas!"
Ash laughs, "You know what? Fun fact: I saved Santa once during my travels through Kanto. We saved his Jynx, met his Lapras, and defeated Team Rocket before they could take all the presents." Serena raises an eyebrow at the small story, clearly not believing it.
"Santa's not real, babe."
"He totally is. He still sends me postcards from Alola."
"Uh-huh…"
Ash ignores her skepticism and holds her hand, "Anyway, let's go and bake some macarons for the kids."
"Mm!"
The two head down, hand in hand, walking down the stairs with smiles watching their kids play with their Pokémon. Delphox was there watching Brielle play with her tail, making sure the girl doesn't hurt herself and Lyon was busy inspecting Pikachu, rubbing his cheeks gently. Serena puts her hand over her chest watching everything. "Oh, my babies…"
Ash just chuckles, shaking his head at her sentimentality. He leads her to the kitchen where the two begin baking. Well, Serena is the one baking, Ash just watches and cleans up after her, making sure the kitchen is clean. While he has learned how to cook, he lets her do all the baking as she's just a natural at it. He just likes to be around his wife, with the two often giving each other small flirting remarks and bumps to one another.
Even after being married for about a decade now, the two still act like they're in the honeymoon phase.
The two bake and once the macarons are in the oven, Ash sets a timer for them to check up on them. Serena smiles, kissing his cheek lovingly, "Let's let them open presents, hon."
Ash nods and leads her to the living room, where the kids impatiently wait to open their presents. Lyon has a little more patience, but as he stares at the presents, he just desires nothing more than to open them. Brielle just whines, fidgeting around, with Delphox trying to calm her trainer's daughter.
"Kids," Ash smiles at them, getting their attentions, "Merry Christmas." He grins, with Serena giggling.
"What your father means is… open your presents!" She winks, watching their faces light up as they rush to the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is a Noble fir that Ash found and was able to get into the house. He and his Pokémon spent time trimming it down to make sure it fits in the house, with Serena and the kids happily adorning it with lights and ornaments.
Serena had the bright idea of making their own ornaments and the tradition has been made since that they would make one every single year, with new ones to replace the old ones. Ash has never been good at molding, but his two kids and even some of his Pokémon have enjoyed doing them, so he just lets them do it and make some for him.
The two kids began opening their presents, with Ash and Serena sitting on their couch, watching their babies' open presents. Ash smirks as he watches his son's eyes light up in excitement when he opened his first present. "Wow!" Lyon exclaims as he inspects his gift: it was a Rotom-Pad! It's a tablet that contains a Rotom in it; it has information on every Pokémon, every map, and every piece of information that Lyon needs for his upcoming journey.
"Did Santa get you what you wanted, dear?" Serena teases.
Her son grunts, not believing in the old tale, but nods, "Thank you!" He hugs his parents, who hug back happily. Brielle squeals as she gets the PokéDoll set she's been wanting!
"Santa got me my Fairy PokéDoll set!"
The two continued opening their presents, with Pikachu making sure the wrappings are disposed.
Ash then turns to his and Serena's Pokémon, "We didn't forget about you guys," he smiles. He then opens the closet that shows more presents, but this time geared for his Pokémon. Pikachu and Delphox's eyes shine at the presents, hugging their trainers.
"Aww, Delphox! Pikachu!" Serena squeals, hugging them tightly. "We would never forget about you and all our other Pokémon! When we're done here with our Macarons, we'll go to Professor Oak's corral and give all of our Pokémon their gifts!"
"Pika!"
"Del-del!"
Ash grins and looks at his two children, all happy with their presents, "I hope you guys enjoy them. I had to beg Santa this year to get you guys what you all wanted! I swear, you two are so spoiled," he mutters with a laugh. His two kids hug him, which only leads to Serena coming in to hug them all.
Brielle and Lyon then look at each other and grin. "Mommy, daddy," Brielle calls out, making her parents stare at them. "We made you guys something!"
"Yeah! Brie and I wanted to show how much we love you guys," Lyon states with a sheepish look, a blush on his cheeks, he looks down bashfully. Serena covers her mouth as she gasps at her children giving them something. While her children have always been taught to be generous and loving, she never even expected them to do something for them in return!
Brie runs up to her room and comes out with a huge poster, showing a drawing she and Lyon did together. They drew a family portrait, with all their Pokémon all having put paw prints on it. Brie had her side drawn more crudely, with Lyon's being a little more refined. However, what makes Ash and Serena tear up, what was said in the middle:
To the best mommy and daddy ever.
Serena cries, hugging her children.
Ash smiles, wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Oh, my babies," Serena cries, "mommy and daddy have the best children ever." She sobs, hugging them tightly, making her kids hug back. Lyon looks a little embarrassed by the love, but Brie happily accepts the hug and squeals at the affection.
"We're just the best family ever," Ash states with a smile, rubbing his son's head and kissing his daughter's head.
They may be brats, but they were his brats.
Ash then looks at one more present under the Christmas tree and he smiles to himself, 'I'll give that to her tonight.' He thinks to himself. It's a small box, but he knows that when his wife opens it, she'll love it. The timer beeps, alerting the parents that the macarons are done and Ash grins, "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm starving. Let's dig into some macarons!"
"Yay!" The kids cheer.
The kids run into the kitchen. The two Pokémon follow them, leaving the adults alone. Serena and Ash turn to look at one another and the two kiss one another gently. "Merry Christmas, Serena."
"Merry Christmas, Ash."
'And Merry Christmas to you, my little baby to be,' she rubs her stomach in bliss, imagining a new family member to one day be announced. Ash notices and his eyes widen, his heart thumping in excitement.
"You… No way," he whispers out, making her look at him with pure love and she nods.
"Mm! I want another one!" She whispers back sweetly, making him grin.
He exclaims, "Oh, Hell yeah, this is the best Christmas present ever!" He runs into the kitchen, getting the macarons out and helping his kids get plates. He then exclaims out happily, "Mommy and I are going to have another baby!"
"Really?! Awesome!"
"Yay! I'm going to be a big sister now!"
"Pi-Ka~!"
"Delphox~!"
Serena shakes her head at their enthusiasm, "Well, not yet, but it'll happen soon!" She grins, "But for now, let's dig into some macarons!"
