Magnus' Christmas Wish
The Angel That Delivered True Love
"Here!" Madzie's voice was demanding as she put a paper and crayon in front of him.
Confusion flickered over Magnus' face as he accepted both from his goddaughter. "Why thank you, but... what are we doing? Are we drawing a picture? I feel like I require more colors for that."
"No, silly," Madzie giggled happily. "We're writing to Santa!"
"Oh, are we now?" Magnus smiled at her, taking the crayon.
"Yes! You have to write to Santa what you want for Christmas, otherwise you won't get it."
She looked so serious as she nodded in confirmation. What a precious tiny angel she was. Magnus, he adored this little girl so much. She was his best friend's adopted daughter, had only been living with Catarina and her husband Luke for about a year now, but oh she had found her place among them. She seemed so happy with them, despite the hardships she had endured in the group home she'd lived at before. A fighter, that one. Magnus could relate to that.
"She made me write one too," offered Madzie's sister Clary.
Clary had been Luke's stepdaughter from a previous marriage and after her mother had died, she had stayed with her stepfather and even though she had already been eighteen by the time Luke and Catarina had met, she had found her place in this family too and happily taken Madzie under her wing as her little sister. They were a patchwork family, but they were happy, they loved each other. Magnus was always filled with longing when he visited the Garroway-Loss household. He was happy for them, truly, but it also made him feel lonely, because it made him remember his own home, his too big, too empty loft. Filled with cats so he wasn't all alone...
"I'm sure there has to be something that even a rich, famous fashion designer wishes for," Clary looked at him curiously. "Can't hurt to write a letter to Santa, can it?"
She grinned a little at him and he had to chuckle. He tapped his crayon against the paper. Couldn't hurt, huh? He supposed Clary was right and the eagerness on Madzie's face was very sweet. With the smallest smile did Magnus start writing with the purple crayon.
Dear Santa. I have no material wishes left. The only thing I'd wish for would be to find a true love of my own. I have the love of my friends, who are like family to me. But at the end of the day, they go home to their partners and I go home... alone. I'd like to come home to someone who loves me.
That was silly, wasn't it? The smile turned sad as he folded the paper and put it in an envelope. He was a grown man, and yet the tiniest bit of hope went into that letter.

"The place looks beautiful, Catarina," commented Magnus with a smile.
"It's not done yet!" complained Madzie as she came running up to him. "Help!"
"Help... with... what is this? Leafs? Weeds from the winter garden?" Magnus blinked confused.
Madzie giggled and shook her head. "No, uncle Magnus, that's mistletoe! We need to hang it up for kisses. Can you help me? I'm not that tall and daddy doesn't let me climb the ladder."
"And daddy is also busy with the turkey," called Luke out from the kitchen. "Hello, Magnus!"
"Hello, Lucian!" Magnus waved vaguely before returning his attention to Madzie. "Very well."
She nodded pleased and grabbed his hand to lead him wherever she wanted the mistletoe to be hung. On their way, Magnus saw Clary and her boyfriend Simon finishing up the tree in the living room, arguing where to put which crystal balls. How adorable.
"Oh, hey, Magnus! We're going to be one more today," announced Simon when Madzie and Magnus returned to the living room. "Since Izzy and Raph are dating and are coming here, Iz asked if her brother could come too so he wouldn't have to spend Christmas all alone."
"Ah, that's nice," Magnus smiled and nodded.
One more didn't make much difference and though Magnus would dislike if there were many people he didn't know here at their family Christmas dinner, he could live with one. After all, he wouldn't want someone to be alone on Christmas either. It had been a long-standing tradition for Catarina, Magnus and Raphael to spend Christmas together. That hadn't changed when Catarina got married to Luke; their family simply grew. With Luke came his stepdaughter Clary. Then, little Madzie was added to the family. And ever since Clary and Simon had started dating, he was also attending Christmas dinner – mostly to be with his girlfriend; Simon was Jewish and didn't celebrate Christmas at home with his own family, so he was free to invite himself to turkey and seeing Clary. This year would mark the first year of Raphael bringing a girlfriend too.
Over the various meetings with the Garroway-Loss family, Raphael had befriended Simon, through him and Clary, he had met the couple's friend Isabelle, who was apparently a beautiful and brilliant science major at college. Raphael was smitten pretty fast.
Magnus' heart clenched with longing as he spotted Catarina and Luke in the doorway of the kitchen, Luke meeting Catarina half-way so they could both stand in the doorway, underneath the mistletoe that Magnus had hung there just five minutes ago. They were both smiling into the kiss, being so... soft and domestic and happy with each other. Magnus craved that kind of casual gentleness.
The ringing of the doorbell distracted him and Magnus was quick to volunteer opening the door, seeing as the two couples were busy with one another. He smiled as he opened the door to let Raphael, Isabelle and the surprise guest in. He had to admit, Raphael and Isabelle made a gorgeous couple together, both smiling at him. Magnus was quickly pulled into a hug by Raphael.
"Merry Christmas, mijo," Magnus smiled as he hugged his son close. "You too, Isabelle."
"Mijo?" echoed a doubtful, but pleasant voice.
"Yes. My father, Magnus. Magnus, Isabelle's brother, Alec," Raphael stepped aside.
And oh. Magnus' eyes widened as he drank in the sight. Alec was tall and handsome, with messy dark hair and the warmest brown eyes he had ever seen, a cute smile on his pink lips. Magnus bit his own lips.
"On the risk of this sounding like a very lame pick-up line, but surely you're too young to be Raphael's father. His older brother maybe, but..." Alec's eyes were intense as they looked at Magnus.
"Well, you failed that one," commented Isabelle dryly. "That is the lamest pick-up line possible."
Magnus laughed, delighted by Alec's blush, as the four headed inside. "I was pretty young and Raphael was already a teenager when I adopted him. So yes, age-wise I am closer to an older brother, I suppose. But that doesn't change how I feel about him."
"Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry," Alec's flush got worse.
"It's okay," assured Magnus with a charming smile.

During dinner itself, Magnus didn't get the chance to talk to tall, dark and handsome. They sat too far apart and everyone was mostly talking about the holidays, plans for the rest of the year. Only after dinner, when Simon and Raphael were helping Catarina with the clean-up, while Clary and Isabelle were playing with Madzie and her new toys. Luke had gotten himself a whiskey to round off dinner and invited Magnus and Alec along with him – the only two interested in sharing it. The three of them sat down outside on the porch in front of the house. The view was nice, with the Christmas lights on all up and down the street. There was a thin sheet of snow covering everything, but it wasn't very cold at the moment, so the three could sit comfortably.
"What brings you here today?" asked Luke. "I thought you had plans, spending the holidays at your parents' with Maxie? Switzerland in winter sounds like a treat."
"The skiing and Max were the only things I was looking forward to," Alec sighed and took a slow drink, before turning toward Magnus, seeing the curiosity in his eyes. "My mother lives in Switzerland, running the Swiss branch of the family business. Isabelle... Well, their relationship isn't very good. But I wanted to go, for my little brother's sake. But... the weather got in the way."
"The... weather...?" Magnus frowned and looked around.
"Not here. Over there. No flights go in at Basel airport due to severe snow storms. My flight was canceled last minute," Alec sighed frustrated. "I was looking forward to seeing Maxie."
"Ah. I'm... sorry to hear that," Magnus' eyes softened as he looked at Alec.
Alec shook his head. "No, it's... fine. I had a wonderful time, dinner was delicious, I saved hours of flight and the stomach-ache of putting up with the passive-aggressive tension between my parents."
"You're always welcome here," offered Luke kindly.
After a few minutes of silence, Magnus regarded Alec once more. "If I may ask, what is that family business? You said your mother runs the Swiss branch. That sounds... big."
"Have you heard of Lightwood Security?" asked Alec. "I'm Alexander Lightwood."
"Oh," Magnus' eyes widened in surprise. "Yes. I usually hire Lightwood Security for my fashion shows. Very reliable. Huh, interesting. I never... put Isabelle with those Lightwoods."
"Because she removes herself as far from the family as possible. She doesn't even take our parents' money. She's working as a tattoo artist to pay for med school," Alec smiled softly. "I'm... very proud of her. I wasn't brave enough, when I graduated high school, to say no to our parents."
"But you made a life for yourself with it," argued Luke as he patted Alec on the back. "You made the best of the situation that you were in, Alec."
"Daddy! Daddy, come look at my new castle! Simon and I finished it!" Madzie came running out.
With a smile did Luke get up and follow his daughter inside to check out the Lego castle she had been working on since unpacking it... an hour ago. Huh. Magnus was surprised when he checked the time. They'd been sitting outside and talking for longer than he had expected.
"What about you?" asked Alec intrigued. "I mean, what do you do for a living?"
"I think you're wearing me right now," Magnus smirked. "I'm Magnus Bane. The fashion designer."
Blinking, Alec looked at his own suit. "Oh. Huh. Well, uhm... You're very talented."
Magnus laughed at that, lifting his glass. "Thank you for that."

Isabelle was laughing, leaning against Clary, who was laughing just as loudly. They had moved on to playing games after Catarina and Luke put Madzie to bed. Playing in four teams and with the three happy couples present, Magnus and Alec had been paired up as the only singles. Not that Magnus minded. It gave him a wonderful opportunity to get to know Alec.
"That's not a cat," commented Clary, covering her face. "How are you this bad at drawing?"
Alec flushed brightly and handed over the pen to his sister and went to sit down next to Magnus. "Not everyone can be an art student with special artist genes, Fray."
Clary grinned and stuck her tongue out at him, while Alec seemed to be pouting. Very cute. Magnus found him quite enchanting when he was pouting like that. He barely paid any attention to the rest of the game, his eyes on Alec the whole time. Handsome, charming and even adorable.
"I think we should call it a night, love," stated Raphael with a look out the window.
"Ah. You're right. The drive home isn't going to be fun, with the weather picking up like that."
It had started snowing about an hour ago, light fluffy flakes, but as Magnus turned to the window now, he noted that the snow was thicker and stronger now. They were right; it was only going to get worse from hereon out. Furrowing his brows, Magnus also slowly got up.
"I think it's a good idea to call it a night, yeah," agreed Simon. "Clary, we gotta get back to our place too and I would like to not get snowed in, actually."
"If we get hit by the snow storm by the time we reach your place, Raph and I will just crash at yours for the night, mh, Alec?" asked Isabelle teasingly.
"Why is that?" Magnus looked curiously between the two siblings.
"Oh, Alec lives in the exact opposite direction of us," Isabelle heaved a sigh. "And he drove here with us, because he came to our place after his flight was canceled."
"Actually," Raphael frowned thoughtfully as he looked at Alec. "You live not too far away from Magnus' loft, Alec. It might be more practical if you could hitch a ride with Magnus..."
"Ah, no, I wouldn't want to impose. I can also just get a cab," Alec waved him off.
"Oh no, no, it wouldn't be a bother at all," assured Magnus with a bright smile. "I can drive you home, Alexander. Makes the car-ride less... lonely and boring too."
"Wonderful. So all our guests are taken care of, then?" Catarina smiled as she hugged Magnus.
"Yep, we are all on our way. I'll see you tomorrow," Clary was hugging Luke, kissing his cheek.
"Thanks for having us," Simon saluted as he left the house, followed by Clary.
The couple headed toward Simon's van, waving all the way. Magnus hugged Raphael, while Alec hugged Isabelle before they parted with the two and Raphael and Isabelle got into Raphael's car. Magnus slowly led the way toward his own car, with Alec trailing after him.
"I'm sorry. They didn't leave you much choice than to take me with you," Alec smiled apologetically as he got into the car. "You're a decent person, you wouldn't have just said no."
"...Thank you for that assessment," Magnus looked at Alec surprised.
Alec chuckled softly as Magnus started the car. "That's really not a hard guess. You are... a very... You're. You know. Uhm. Very nice to look at. Talk to. I meant talk to."
"I'd take either of those," commented Magnus with a small smirk.
"Then take both," offered Alec, now more daring. "I wasn't... sure if you would. If you are..."
"I am. Bisexual, that is. And interested. You're a very handsome man and it... is very easy to talk to you too," Magnus turned to smile softly at Alec.
"I haven't... been out that long, so I'm still getting the hang of... flirting," Alec flushed.
"You haven't?" Magnus tilted his head intrigued.
"My parents are very... conservative. So I never... I lived trying to convince myself that I'm straight. Only recently, when my parents moved away – father to Los Angeles and mother to Switzerland, leaving me in charge of the New York branch – did I feel like I could... try to be who I am," Alec scratched his neck a bit awkwardly. "I'm still new to all of this. I only had one boyfriend and it lasted only... a couple of weeks. I guess I was too awkward and paranoid still."
"Well, not everyone can handle that," admitted Magnus. "I, personally, am a patient person."
"That's... good to know," Alec smiled softly, nearly bashful. "Does that mean you would be... perhaps open to having... I don't know, a coffee maybe, say next week?"
"I would very much love that," Magnus' heart filled with warmth.
Though he didn't get to dwell long on that feeling. His eyes widened and he inhaled deeply in a shocked gasp when he saw a blonde man standing right in front of the car. Alec next to him was yelling for him to hit the breaks and he was trying to. He tried to take a sharp right, get out of the way. To not hit the man. But the road was frozen and the distance was too short for it to come to a halt. They hit the blonde and both Magnus and Alec screamed.
"H... He wasn't there. I swear he wasn't there. I was looking at the road. He hadn't been there."
"I know. He just... He just appeared out of nowhere," agreed Alec, unbuckling. "We have to check if he... if he is alright, Magnus. Magnus, are you alright?"
"I... I... I think so, yes," Magnus carefully touched his forehead.
There was blood on his fingers. Right. He had fit his head on the steering wheel. Had he? Shaking his head, Magnus also got out of the car. Doesn't matter now, what mattered was the blonde.
"W... What is that? Is that like a costume?" asked Alec in a soft, surprised whisper.
The blonde was laying on the street, sprawled out. And behind him, two giant snow-white wings were spread out. Magnus sat down in front of the blonde, carefully turning him over so he could check his pulse. Okay. Still alive. That was... That was good.
"He's alive," called Magnus out, carefully cupping the blonde's face.
"Bloody hell, did I hit a mountain?" the blonde groaned as his eyelids fluttered open.
Magnus stared in fascination at the two-colored eyes. Blue and brown and so intense as they stared up at him. Okay so the blonde was conscious and could speak. That was already a good start.
"Hey, hello," Magnus tried a reassuring smile but he feared his panic was showing. "How do you... How do you feel? Does anything hurt? Can you... wiggle your toes?"
He didn't know what to say in a situation like this. The blonde groaned once more, rubbing his face with the heel of his right hand as he slowly sat up. Now came the really stunning part, because the wings were moving with him, pulling up against his body. Only that one wing hung low, blood soaking the white feathers. The blonde screamed in pain when he tried to move the wing.
"That's just my rotten luck," groaned the man. "I get... I get run over by my bloody charge."
"What...?" Magnus blinked, eyes fixated on the angelic wings.
"They can't be real, right?" whispered Alec as he sat down next to them. "...Right?"
All Magnus could do was shrug and shake his head. He had no idea what was going on here.
"Who the bloody hell gave you a driver's license? How do you hit an angel. You know that's like a decade's worth of bad luck, trying to run over your own bloody guardian angel," the blonde turned to check his wing, carefully touching it. "...I am now literally a bloody guardian angel."
"I... I'm sorry, what?" Magnus stared at the cussing man with the charming English accent.
In reply, he got glared down viciously by the blonde. "You! I deliver your true love to you and you thank me by running me over. You better be sorry, Bane."
"I'm fairly sure he has a concussion," offered Alec, blinking repeatedly. "We should bring him to a hospital. Call an ambulance. So they can check him out."
The blonde raised his eyebrows – and his wings. "Oh sure, yeah, bring the angel to a hospital so he can be used as a guinea pig because of his wings. You can see them, right?"
"Maybe we have the concussion?" asked Magnus, looking at Alec. "Hallucinations?"
"...Shared hallucinations?" argued Alec with a frown.
The actual angel in front of them just groaned, throwing his head back. "Urgh, you're both thick. I guess that's what makes you a match... Will you at least help me up...? Invite me into your warm car with the heated seating instead of letting me sit in the snow?"
The judgment in those dual-colored eyes, Magnus felt obligated to obey, despite not understanding any of it. Though after hitting the poor thing with his car, Magnus supposed a bit of warmth was the least he could offer. Alec went to help Magnus with that, grabbing the angel's other arm. Together, they heaved the blonde over to the car and into the backseat.
"Watch the wings," hissed the blonde. "It's enough that one is already broken in two places."
"From hereon out, I will simply... roll with this, until I... wake up from this bizarre dream," stated Magnus. "That's what I'll do. Yes. For now, I'll bring the... angel with the broken wing... to my loft. So we can at least wrap the injured wing. Would you help me with that, Alexander?"
"Sure. I definitely don't have anything better to do than... help an angel..." Alec nodded slowly.
With that, Alec went back to the passenger seat, heaving a relieved sigh once all doors were closed and they could enjoy the heating the angel had mentioned. Magnus checked through the rear-window. With his wings, the angel was taking up the entire backseat.
"Are you real?" asked Magnus softly as he started driving. "A silly question. Asking my hallucination if he's real or not. Of course he's not real."
"Yeah. Angels... can't be real. And he looks like he stepped out of some... underwear advertisement from Calvin Klein," muttered Alec as he also checked the backseat.
"Mh," Magnus smiled mischievously at Alec at that, making the other man blush.
Well, there was no arguing good taste like that. The blonde was very gorgeous, even more so with those fluffy, white wings. Like he had walked out of one of Magnus' naughtier fantasies.
"Humans are so perverted," muttered the angel, shaking his head. "That's also why I put you two together. Perverts. You can be perverts together. Don't blush like that, Lightwood. Just because you act all proper doesn't mean you can hide how naughty you are from a Christmas angel."
"A... what?" Alec turned to properly look at the blonde.
"Christmas angel. Got the naughty and nice list. It is detailed on the naughty."
"So, what? I hit you when you were on your way delivering presents, little angel?"
"I have a name. Jazabiel. Jace, for short. Don't get cute with me, Bane. I know all your flirting strategies, I've been watching over you for years," warned the angel.
"Why, I have an angelic stalker. I feel so honored," Magnus grinned playfully.
"A guardian angel. I said that earlier. You... are... so bad... at listening..."
"Hey here. You're sounding slurred. Are you okay?" Alec turned concerned.
Slowly did the angel open his eyes again, just to glare at Alec. "I got hit by a car. No, I'm not okay."
"You're much more snarky than I expected a... what is it now? Guardian angel? Christmas angel? To be," noted Magnus.
"It's both. Christmas is one day a year. You think we sit around on clouds the rest of the year? No. We work as guardian angels. And just because we deliver presents to the nice and innocent and mostly to children doesn't mean that we are nice and innocent children," argued Jace with a groan, covering his eyes. "My head is killing me. Not literally, stop fretting, Alec. Angels can't die."
"But they can be hit by cars?" Magnus raised a confused eyebrow.
Silence stretched on and the look on the angel's face was cryptic. "We shouldn't. I... have no idea why I was tangible, or why you can see me. You're also not supposed to see me."
"So many questions," whispered Magnus beneath his breath. "Too many questions."
"Just..." Jace winced, grasping his ribs. "Okay, maybe the wing isn't the only thing you damaged with this murder cage. Just bring me... home. Your home, obviously, not mine."
"Obviously," muttered Magnus. "Please. Explain at least some things."
"I'm here because I got your letter," replied Jace with a sigh.
"My... What? I didn't..." Magnus paused. "Wait, you don't mean..."
The angel offered him a lazy smile and pulled a letter out of... Actually, Magnus wasn't entirely sure where he had pulled that out from. There were no pockets on his white skirt-like wrapped cloth that left his very attractive chest bare. The letter in Jace's hand was very much the letter Magnus had written for Santa. How could the angel possibly have that? No, wait, scratch that.
"Okay. So you're... a Christmas angel. And you... got the letter my goddaughter made me write to Santa...?" asked Magnus surprised. "But... Wait, so you're here to... fulfill my Christmas wish?"
The look on Jace's face turned into a smug smirk as he motioned toward Alec. "You're welcome."
The implication made Magnus blush brilliantly, his eyes widening. Alec, all the while, looked confused, his brows furrowed as he looked between Magnus and Jace, just to be handed the letter. The confusion on Alec's face grew, before realization dawned on him and he blushed too.
"A... Are you implying that you deliberately made us meet, because I'm supposed to be Magnus' love?" asked Alec slowly. "That's ridiculous. The only reason I came to the Christmas party was because the bad weather prevented me from flying to Europe."
"It's cute how you're talking to an actual angel, don't entirely question the fact that I would know what's in people's heart, but the weather is the deal-breaker for you," Jace looked amused. "Who do you think controls the weather? Angels do. Making it snow is one of our powers. You know how many kids wish for white Christmas or snow days?"
"So you... made it snow so I would miss my plane, so I could meet Magnus on Christmas Eve?"
"Now he's getting it," Jace nodded weakly. "Besides, your Christmas wish was to have a warm, loving Christmas, not the cold one that awaited you with your parents. So, two birds, one stone. And while you wouldn't be so bold to actually wish for true love... I know what's in your heart. And there is so much love in your heart. You just need someone to give it to. Again, you're welcome."
Magnus' head was swimming with all the information he was trying to take in. He was relieved when they finally reached his loft. With Alexander's help did Magnus carry the angel into the loft and he had never been more grateful for the large elevator.
"Let's bring him to the guest-bedroom," suggested Magnus. "First door on the left."
They walked through the living room and into the hall, to the first door on the left. Occasionally, Raphael would crash here, Ragnor whenever he was in town, or Madzie when Magnus was babysitting her so Luke and Catarina could have some alone time. Carefully did they lower the blonde onto the bed and with a pained groan did Jace spread out on it.
"Oh, this is good," Jace gasped, closing his eyes. "I think I now understand why you humans struggle with getting out of bed, if this is what beds feel like."
"What do we do?" asked Alec. "I mean, we need... Your wing..."
"It's not like something like angel doctors exist. Angels... don't... get hurt," Jace frowned. "I'm as lost as you are right now. What do humans do when they break something on the inside?"
"We... steady it so it can heal," offered Magnus. "Okay. We'll... uhm. Alexander, would you come to the bathroom with me, help me carry... everything... I have for injuries."
Alec nodded awkwardly and followed Magnus into the bathroom. While Magnus didn't exactly have the right equipment to put an angel's wing in splints, but he thought they could improvise something. For good measure, he also threw some pain medication in there. The angel seemed in quite a lot of pain. Before Magnus could leave again, he was grabbed by Alec and pulled onto the toilet seat. Magnus blinked surprised and watched how Alec wet one of the towels.
"Before we try to play vet on an angel who might just be a shared hallucination, I'll take care of you first. You have a bleeding head-wound, Magnus," Alec frowned displeased. "Hold still now."
Mh, bossy Alec was very attractive. Magnus leaned his head back to allow Alec to clean the wound with a very gentle touch. After he had it cleaned and dried, Alec put a band-aid on it.
"It's not bleeding anymore. That's a good sign. You... You need to stay awake, so we can make sure you don't have a concussion. If you feel dizzy or throw up, tell me," ordered Alec.
Magnus nodded obediently, smiling just a little bit. He felt warm. It had been a while since he had someone take care of him, worry for him. Shaking his head, he tried to shake that feeling. He should focus on the angel for now. Not on the handsome man that angel had supposedly delivered. Getting up, Magnus led the way to the guest-room once more.
"Hey there. Can you sit up for us so we can reach your wing?" requested Magnus.
Jace made a small noise as he did as he was told. Alec sat down in front of the blonde, his hand gently pressing against Jace's abs. Both Jace and Magnus raised their eyebrows at how unexpectedly daring that was of Alec. When he noticed the looks, Alec blushed.
"I'm checking if the ribs are broken or bruised," explained Alec embarrassed. "Does this hurt?"
"A bit. Not as bad as the wingsoffered Jace with a wince. "Is this what you people put up with all the time? All of this... pain and... and discomfort...? Urgh. Physical bodies suck."
"They can be quite enjoyable too, I assure you," Magnus winked teasingly.
Jace offered him an unimpressed look and Alec flushed just a little bit again. How cute of him.
"This might hurt," stated Alec seriously. "We gotta put a splint on it to make sure the bone heals right. Setting it can hurt. Do you think you'll be okay?"
"No, obviously not," Jace growled, sounding very agitated. "I've never experienced physical pain before today. And now there are things broken on my inside."
Alec adjusted himself to kneel in front of Jace, gently laying the blonde's arms around his neck. "Okay. Then hold onto me. I'll keep you steady while we do this, mh?"
Interestingly enough, that actually earned him a blush from the blonde. And once again, Magnus found himself very intrigued by an Alec who took charge. Smiling to himself, Magnus walked around Jace to sit behind him. He coordinated with Alec to adjust the wing and splint it. There was so much gentleness to Alec's touch and voice as he reassured the angel. That was the kind of man Magnus could see himself falling in love with. Jace between them whimpered in pain.
"Sh, it's good," whispered Alec softly. "We got you."
"And we're all done," declared Magnus. "You did good, little angel. Now, rest some."
"Rest... sounds good," whispered Jace, lax in Alec's arms.
Once more did Magnus and Alec manhandle the blonde together, carefully putting him down. Jace groaned a little when he touched down on the soft bedding. It was Alec who grabbed the blanket to tuck the blonde in. Well, wasn't all of this utterly surreal? Magnus shook his head a little as he led the way out of the guestroom to bring Alexander over to the living room.
"Can I offer you a drink before you leave?" asked Magnus. "Because I definitely need one."
"I'm... not sure if leaving is an option," commented Alec.
After he got them both drinks, Magnus turned around to face Alec. His eyes widened in surprise as he looked past Alexander through the large windows. The snow had really picked up, it was a full-blown storm at this point. Alec accepted his drink, eyes on the snow-storm outside.
"Think that was part of the angel's plan too?" asked Alec curiously.
"To snow us in? Perhaps," Magnus shrugged. "I still have a hard time wrapping my head around any of this. The angel in my bedroom, the things he had... said..."
"About me being your true love and him delivering me right to you?" Alec looked flustered. "Yeah, I don't really... I mean, you are... very gorgeous and I'd like to get to know you, but..."
"This feels like pressure, doesn't it?" agreed Magnus with a sharp nod.
"Yeah," Alec heaved a deep sigh. "Let's... not let it get to us?"
"A good idea," Magnus smiled, clanking his glass against Alec's. "You... can stay here, if you'd like. No ulterior motif, just... I don' think it'd be safe to go out there."
"I... Thank you, that's very kind of you," Alec smiled a little. "And, I have to admit, I'd like to be here in the morning, to see if... the angel is still an angel."
Magnus chuckled amused at that, humming to himself. After they finished their drinks, Magnus showed Alexander the bathroom and offered him a pair of pajamas. It was after the shower and change that Alec stood in Magnus' bedroom slightly awkward and a little flustered.
"You can of course have the bed, " offered Magnus. "I'll sleep on the couch."
"Don't be ridiculous," argued Alec with a frown. "This is your home. I'm not making you sleep on the couch. You could... We could... It's a very big bed. We can sleep in it together, right?"
Again with the delicate blush, Magnus was really getting weak for that. "Yes, we can. I promise I'll keep my hands to myself too. I admit, the couch is not very inviting."
The two got into the bed together and Magnus had to admit, it was nice to know someone next to him again. He'd mostly had meaningless one-night-stands, usually while he was staying at hotels during his fashion-shows. It was rare for him to take someone home with him.
"Good night, Magnus," whispered Alec softly, looking at him with warm eyes.

Alec sighed contently as he woke up to warm bodies pressed against his from either side. Smiling lazily, Alec nuzzled into flowery-smelling hair. Someone moved, so Alec opened his eyes. Oh. Magnus Bane. Yes. The Christmas party yesterday. But the body on his other side... Alec turned a little to find the blonde angel pressed against him, clinging onto him. Wings still there.
"Magnus," whispered Alec tensely. "Magnus, the angel is still here."
"The angel has a name," grumbled the blonde. "It's Jace. I told you yesterday. Don't be rude."
"Don't be rude, says the one who snuck into my bed," commented Magnus dryly.
"It's cold," Jace peeked up from behind Alec to pout at both. "No one told me physical bodies could get this cold. It kept shaking without me wanting it to do that. But you're warm. So I came to get warmer. It helped and the shaking stopped."
"Well, you were nearly naked in the middle of a snow-storm," commented Alec concerned. "You might have caught a cold out there. How are you feeling now?"
Both Alec and Magnus sat up to look over at the angel. His side was a nasty color by now. Jace made a concerned noise when he noticed, carefully tracing his own ribs.
"I changed color," commented Jace displeased. "Physical bodies suck."
"Answer the question, little angel," prompted Magnus, grasping Jace's chin.
Alec bit his lower lip as he looked form Magnus to Jace. He liked that commanding side of Magnus and he had to admit that he liked waking up in the bed with someone else. It had been so warm and homey. Alec turned his attention onto the broken wing.
"I'm fi—ine," groaned Jace annoyed. "It hurts but I'm fine. Mostly annoyed by this... pain-thing."
"You're adorable," commented Magnus fondly. "How about we eat breakfast? Do angels eat...?"
"Normally not because we don't have physical bodies. But considering I am, for some reason, corporeal and experiencing human pain, I assume the gnawing in my stomach means something."
"Breakfast it is," declared Magnus. "But first, some warm, comfortable clothes for you."
He went to the closet and then handed out sweat-pants and very fluffy hoodies to both Alec and Jace. The angel had no qualms stripping down in front of the both of them and getting changed, leaving Alec very flustered. That had been a view. He hadn't been this confused in a while.
"Why don't you come and help me so Alexander can get dressed in peace?" suggested Magnus.
Alec was a bit grateful for that. He got changed, before grabbing his phone and checking his messages. Isabelle seemed concerned, because he hadn't texted her last night after getting home. With the snow-storm, she had gotten worried. He shot her a quick message back before heading to the kitchen to find Jace and Magnus. While Magnus was manning the stove, Jace kept stealing bacon directly out of the pan, hissing at the heat and yet still doing it repeatedly.
"Stop eating all the bacon," chided Magnus as he smacked Jace's hand with a spatula.
"But I like this," Jace whined and stole another. "This is good. If I had known being corporeal means getting whatever this is, I would have tried to do it a long time ago."
"So... you really have no clue why you are... physical?" asked Alec curiously.
He went ahead to the coffee machine to make them coffee and then found his way around the kitchen to set the table. This too felt so warm and domestic. He missed it. Ever since Isabelle had moved out of their shared apartment to live with Raphael, it had been cold and lonely.
"Nope. Shouldn't have happened, I have no idea why I'm here or why you can see me and for... how long does it take for bones to heal...? I'll be stuck here. Can't get into heaven without my wings."
"You can stay here until you're all healed up," promised Magnus gently.
Alec felt himself fall just a little bit more for Magnus at that. He was so kind and generous...

Jace had come to love his physical body over the past few months of living with Magnus. By now, Alec was also living with them. The relationship between Magnus and Alec had been tentative and taken weeks to fully blossom and after that, it took another month for the three to actually figure out that Jace fit in with them quite well. It... took Jace embarrassingly long to figure out why he had a physical body. Not that he had told Magnus or Alec yet. He frowned as he rolled over to look at his lovers. It hadn't been one definite moment that Jace knew what he felt for them, he had just gradually grown closer to them, become a part of their relationship.
"You look sad, Jace," whispered Alec as he reached out to cup Jace's cheek. "You okay?"
"My wing's nearly healed," replied Jace, carefully flapping it.
Now Alec looked sad too. He turned to wake Magnus up. Magnus grumbled sleepily, trying to hide in Alec's arms. It was cute, Jace loved seeing his humans in the morning. Gently did he reach his wing out to caress Magnus' cheek with his feathers. Both his humans loved his wings and how soft the feathers were. Slowly did Magnus wake up, eyes fluttering open.
"Jace's wing is nearly healed," whispered Alec with a frown, grasping Magnus' hand.
"...Oh," now Magnus also looked sad and also reached out for Jace. "So... you will leave us?"
"That's just the thing," Jace heaved a sigh as he sat up. "I'm... I... I think I know why I'm here."
"Does that mean you won't leave?" asked Alec, perking up hopefully.
Jace sighed again, a small smile on his lips as he looked at them. His heart was racing. This was stupid, for him to be this nervous. But he hadn't said it yet. And the two of them, they had said it to each other, before Jace had joined their relationship. Since then, Jace hadn't felt like he had found his place to the point of saying it. Because that would mean... everything.
"I'm... I think," Jace flushed. "The reason you can see me, why I became physical, is because I came here to deliver your true love to you, Magnus. And I... did that."
"Yes, Alexander," there was so much warmth and love in Magnus' eyes.
Alec laughed softly as he leaned in to kiss Magnus. "That's so sappy, but I love you too."
"No. I mean, yes, Alec. But... I think I... delivered myself too," continued Jace embarrassed, ducking his head to not look at either of his humans. "That's why you can see me. Why I'm physical. Because I was... always a part of your wish, Magnus."
For a moment, Magnus and Alec stared at him in surprise and he got to see in real-time how realization and then joy set in and suddenly, he was being pulled over to be showered in kisses by the both of them. Jace flushed as he tried to hide his face between their necks.
"I... love you," whispered Jace softly. "And I don't want to leave when my wing is all good again."
"You don't have to, angel," assured Magnus, one arm around his waist. "We love you too."
"Yes. And we want you to stay with us. Because we belong together, all three of us," agreed Alec.
Jace smiled softly and relaxed in their arms. This wasn't the outcome he had expected on Christmas Eve, when he had gone out to make Magnus and Alec fall in love. It was so much better, really.
~*~ The End ~*~
Author's note: Aaand the Christmas week continues! Since I already themed my Magic Monday for Christmas. This story had actually been planned for last year already but time was a factor and I never got around to actually writing it, so I saved it for this year and I'm glad I managed to write it on time! I hope you enjoyed it and that you'll have happy holidays ;)
