The world was all new and alien to her.

It has been a few days since the Lockwood Incident, and much like with the rest of the dinosaurs, Nublar's Tyrannosaurus Rex, Rexy, has roamed across the countryside of California.

Rexy walked through the forest, pushing past various unknown flora. She was still getting used to the new world, filled with new scents, sounds, and sights to see.

Before long, Rexy arrived at the forest edge. She looked around, sniffing in the air to examine for any food nearby.

Then, Rexy lifted her head as she picked up a new scent. It was very unfamiliar yet enticing all the same. Growling to herself quietly, the tyrannosaur walked towards the source of the smell west of her.

Eventually, Rexy arrived at a river and noticed peculiar animals grazing and drinking.

They are smaller than her, have brown coatings all over their bodies, and a few of them have strange horn-like things on their heads.

These are Elk, one of the more numerous large mammals in California.

Rexy growled quietly. She has no idea what these are and how they act, but her hunger was setting in, and she knew she needed to eat.

Slowly, Rexy began to move towards the herd of Elk. Despite her massive weight, the T-Rex can move surprisingly stealthy, her feet and toes spreading out to distribute the weight behind her stompings.

Rexy grew closer and closer to the herd. Suddenly, Rexy's left foot accidentally stepped on a twig. The snapping noise caused the elk to lift their heads in alarm.

Sensing that her cover is blown, Rexy charged forward, jaws wide.

The elk began to scatter and run off as fast as they could. Rexy kept up with the herd, trying to catch one with her massive jaws.

However, the mammals proved to be quite evasive and fast, even more so than the usual prey back at her home island on Isla Nublar.

At one point, Rexy nearly tripped over thanks to a log, but she managed to recover. An elk was nearby, and she snapped at it. But the elk managed to dodge it with grace.

Eventually, Rexy began to feel exhausted, and she had to stop. The elk fled into many different directions, some into the trees, others further into the open plains.

Rexy was frustrated. She lost a potentially decent meal for her. It could possibly be days before she could find a new animal.

Letting out a roar of anger, the tyrannosaur walked back towards the river and took a drink. Rexy realized that like in her previous home before the humans took her away, living in this new world is gonna be very difficult, especially now, thanks to her age. She could no longer go as far as she used to, nor quite as fast unless necessary, and even so, the energy used up would leave her exhausted. Now that she's here in a brand new environment, there's no telling what will happen to her.

Realizing this, the massive dinosaur lifted her head and looked up at the sky. She breathed in and out as she laid down, head resting onto the floor. For Rexy, there is only one thing she can do: adapt and survive. It is what helped her in her old home, and it is what must help her in her new home.

Adapt and survive…Adapt and survive.

AN: Hey everyone!

A Jurassic Park/World fanfic! Haven't written one of these in a while! So yeah, with Dominion on the way (very excited for that!), and feeling like writing a couple of one-shots here and there, I figured these would be decent justifications for writing this anthology series concerning many of the dinosaurs before Dominion! Why? Because why not?

Anyways, you all know the drill by now! Hope you enjoy it; criticism is appreciated, and stick around for more!
