A/N: Rawr. And stuff. Random Xmas present to the people that make me the happiest – you guys. I hope you have a wonderful Xmas even if I don't post very many more stories before then.
OOOOOOOO
Smoke curled up in the air with blackened tendrils that clawed at the night sky. Calli's lungs were filled with the scent of fire and she felt dizzy for several moments as she breathed in the burning chemicals of her belongings – the things that she couldn't keep.
This is what happens when you take too much in your life, Calli thought, frowning as she shoved her hands into the pockets of her jacket. You accumulate too much, you still can't take most of it with you. So…it burns. What a waste.
But was it a waste?
The Boys had said that she could bring a lot of it with her if she wanted. When she made that great journey to the undead life with all of them. Calli had already been groomed to know what was needed and what should be done. Even though she'd never been to a single hunt. She'd never seen the Boys' faces when they vamped out and they wanted to keep it that way until the last possible moment. "Less of a scare factor" they had said.
That will be my face soon, Calli thought, touching her cheek and imagining that something different would contort it. Something…dark…will take over and I will only know that I need to feed on people when I once thought they were fellows. Oh well…
The wind kicked up and Calli's eyes turned towards the skies. She didn't see her Boys flying through the air. She really didn't see them when they were in the skies. It wasn't fair. But she'd pay them back…soon.
She shifted her weight, thinking about her life and how it'd changed since she'd met the Boys. Her Boys. The ones that had taken her under their wings and made her one of them: a Lost Girl. She was their friend, their lover, their little Sister. Something to be protected, loved, coveted. And she playfully fought with them every now and then.
Calli looked back into the flames after a moment of searching the sky. She sighed and kicked at the dirt that laid under her boots. They'd changed so much about her. She had protested some of it, but welcomed most of it. They had seen that she'd wanted to embrace her inner Goth, her inner witch…they helped her discover that she was a white witch and not a gray witch like so many people had wanted her to believe.
"I am me now," Calli whispered, staring at the twisting flames consuming her belongings. "Free. Protected. Safe."
"Calli…"
Calli felt ghostly hands stroking her back, her hair, her skin. All of it reminded her that her Boys were with her. Her parents, her friends from the past tried to convince her that this was all just in her head. That there was no way that biker sex gods would ever be interested in someone as puny and pathetic as she was. But she had pictures posted and encounters between them to prove them wrong.
You all can suck my metaphorical dick…Her heart saddened. I won't be around to see any of them grow old or have more children or grandchildren or anything…I'll outlive them. All of them. Them, their children, their children's children and so forth.
She rolled her eyes. Even in my head I still use my stupid English degree when I can't use it anymore.
Lies…
Pseudonym then. I can make that work. Over and over and over again. But they have to take care of the financial parts of it. That's their responsibility. Not mine anymore. So ha on them.
She could picture the Boys smirking at that. It wasn't like they hadn't been financially responsible for her before. They took care of her for years. They wouldn't tell her how much she owed them, but that was on her list of things to find out whenever she had that connection to them. They promised to hide nothing from her, but she had a feeling that some things would be hidden from her.
Relax…
Go fuck off. Calli brushed back a strand of her hair when it flew in her face and frowned at the fire, wincing when her old laptop exploded in a flash of sparks. This is painful. I don't need your bullshit telling me to relax. Let me say goodbye.
Calli saw the flashes of each of the Boys pressing a kiss to her forehead in her mind's eye. She'd long since given up on keeping them out of her head. They had helped her quiet the voices that once haunted her and helped her discover that it was part of her multiple personality disorder, something that she didn't have to be ashamed of.
No thanks to you, Dad. Calli felt a brief flare of anger as she looked down at a photograph that she held in her hand when she pulled it from her pocket. You…the one that called me a disappointment, the mess of the family, the wreck, stupid, worthless, fat, psychotic, evil…so many hurtful names just because you could and just because you wanted to hurt me…the Boys wanted and still want to kill you, but I've kept you alive for all this time. I still hold that power. One word and I can have you removed, but I won't do that. I won't even have to think about you anymore after this. Because you are cruel and you are the one that needs to be forgotten the most.
Exactly, princess…
Calli threw the photograph into the fire and watched it curl and blacken as the fire ate at it. She shoved her hands back into the pockets of her jacket and looked across the blaze. Her heart pounded when her green eyes met ice blue eyes.
David…
Her first love out of all of the Boys. The one that had protected her at all costs and never left her side except when forced to. Her David. The Alpha and leader of the Lost Boys, her new family.
She watched as he pulled a cigarette from between his lips and blew a thin plume of smoke out. His eyes blazed brighter than the fire that he stood near.
It's time, Calli…
Calli nodded to show that she nodded and turned, casting one last look at the sky before heading around the fire and towards her love. He wrapped his arm around her and guided her away into the night.
OOOOOOOOOOO
A/N: Having a hard time staying awake which is understandable because everyone here is keeping me awake at night. It's like fighting constantly and I hate it. But you all have peace and many blessings. Blessed be from this white witch. -Scarlet
