Frostbite sighed and got ready to meet yet another IceWing prince. Why was her mother trying to find a mate for her at such a young age. Frostbite was brought out of her thoughts when a knocking sound at her door was herd. "Come in," Frostbite quickly answered. She was putting a neckless of sapphires around her neck and a ring, also embedded with a sapphire, was on her horn. "You look stunning, Princess Frostbite." She looked up from her scroll to see Flurry, an IceWing dragonet a little older then her standing in the doorway.

"Thank you Flurry… you flatter me," Frostbite said, laughing quietly as her friend smiled brightly. Flurry smiled and spoke up, "It's true, Frostbite. You really are stunning," said IceWing dragonet just blushed in embarrassment at the praise from her friend.

"Who is the cool IceWing prince that my mother has chosen this time?" Frostbite asked rolling her dark blue eyes in exasperation. "His name's Prince Storm, he's the older brother of Princess Sleet."Frostbite sighed and rubbed her eyes with her talons in exasperation.

"Me and Sleet are best friends, but her brother? Flurry? Why would mother do this to me?" She exclaimed pacing around her room in anger. Flurry sighed and held Frostbite's shoulders so that she would look up at her.

"Oh, Frostbite. Your mother is just trying to keep tradition. Your not her... I know that. But it's IceWing tradition," Flurry said, and Frostbite just huffed in annoyance. "Ugh! I hate the IceWing aristocracy! What's the point of the circles anyway?" Frostbite exclaimed in annoyance. The mention of the circles made her IceWing spikes rattle. She frowned slightly and shook out her wings.

Flurry sighed and after a short pause, she spoke up calmly. "I don't know princess, but I get what your saying. I don't really agree with the circles either." Frostbite blew a plume of frost in frustration, she still don't want to meet this IceWing Prince. she's only five years old after all.

Frostbite sighed once more and with one last glance in her mirror, she nodded in satisfaction. Frostbite then followed Flurry out into the dining hall.

As the two dragonets walked down the hallway, they made small talk with each other. It was silent for a while, then it was broken by Flurry. "Isn't your friend Ermine from the circles?" Flurry asked me after a moment of silence. Frostbite nodded and explained to Flurry how Ermine felt about the circles.

"Ermine is from the circles, though she's much more... open in her opinions about it." Frostbite explained, to Flurry. "At the quarterly summits the queens attend at Sanctuary... let's just say she's caused some IceWing spikes to rattle." Frostbite added, clearly poking fun at her friend good-naturedly.

"So she's like, what, against the circles?" Asked Flurry, frowning.

"Not necessarily." Frostbite added. "A hierarchy or chain of command is certainly needed. I'm not an anarchist or anything... but in practice, the system of the circles are flawed and dated. It doesn't have to go away, but it does need to change." She explained.

"So… Frostbite, what's your opinion about the circle system?" She asked, and Frostbite thought for a moment before she gave Flurry her answer. "I think the same way Ermine does. I don't think the circles need to go away, but they definitely need to change." Frostbite explained.

The sound of birds singing was what woke Frostbite early that morning. She yawned and rubbed her eyes with her talons. Frostbite then slowly sat up and stretched out her wings and claws.

Frostbite yawned once more and Frostbite slowly walked over to her vanity and put on her usual accessories for the day. She then washed her face with some cold water and smoothed her tail spikes down. Frostbite then put her bandages on and did one more once over and she made her way down the hallway and Frostbite closed her bedroom door behind her as she went out into the dining area.

As Frostbite entered the huge dining hall, she saw the Queen sitting at the table reading a scroll that was spread out in front of her on the table.

Frostbite laughed and took a seat next to her and she read over her shoulder. She looked up when Frostbite sat down. She smiled and fidgeted with her sapphire necklace.

"Well, you sure are up early this morning, aren't you, Frostbite?" The Queen asked, with a small laugh. Frostbite nodded with a toothless grin on her face. She then looked up when the doors opened and in walked Aurora, Borealis, Tempest, Ermine, Flurry and Hail. Frostbite smiled brightly at them as they took their seats at the dinning table.

I kept fidgeting with the sapphire necklace that was around my neck. I couldn't help it, I had never met him before... I forgot his name already. I mentally thought in annoyance.

"Frostbite, you remember that we have a special guest tonight... don't you? Her mother, Queen Snowdrift asked, with a knowing look on her face. Frostbite sighed quietly and nodded. One of her sisters looked at her with simpathy. Her name is Bluewolf, Frostbite's two other sisters are Silverstar and Snowcat. Bluewolf is younger then her. She's only three years old. Her nickname is Wolf, that's what everyone calls her.

"Isn't it Prince Storm?" Silverstar asked there mother with a tilt of her head. There mother nodded and Silverstar grinned at me. Frostbite just sighed and looked down at her talons. "I wish Tempest and Ermine were here," Frostbite mumbled quietly to herself as Bluewolf looked at me with curious and concerned stormy-blue eyes. I sighed and shrugged my wings. I then gave my younger sister a reassuring smile.

Frostbite took a deep breath and calmed herself as best as she could. Prince Storm was here. Frostbite never would admit it to anyone but Frostbite really liked Prince Storm. She also was a shy dragonet in general, but her mother didn't know that.

"Hi, Prince Storm. It's nice to see you again," Frostbite bowed respectfully to the IceWing Prince. "Hello again, Princess Frostbite, Hello Your Majesty. It's a huge honor to be invited to the Palace." He said, bowing to them in the traditional way to address an IceWing royal. "Well... have a seat, dinner will be here shortly," Her mother said, gesturing with a wing for them to take a seat.

And right on schedule... There dinner was brought out to the table. An IceWing gard named Pelican was the one who brought them our food. Frostbite smiled shyly up at Pelican. "Thank you very much, Pelican." Queen Snowdrift replied, with a soft smile to the young IceWing guard.

Dinner was a quiet affair... just as it usually was, the only sound was the smalltalk between her mother and her sister, Blizzard. Frostbite sighed quietly and slowly ate her food.

STORM

Prince Storm looked at Frostbite with curious dark blue eyes. She has a crush on him... he mean that much is obvious. He's not stupid, he figured that out the first day that they met one another.

"So... umm... Frostbite? How have you been, lately?" He asked, in an attempt to start up a conversation with the shy IceWing Princess. She slowly looked up from her scroll and she looked up at Storm with nervous pale blue eyes.

"Yes, Prince Storm?" She stuttered out while looking down at her talons. I smiled warmly at the pale blue and white IceWing dragonet in front of me.

"What do you want to do, Princess Frostbite?" Storm asked her while curling his tail around his front talons. The IceWing Princess just shrugged her wings and went back to reading her scroll.
