Hello! Back for a new year- and possibly the final year! When I started this it was my freshman year of college, I'm now in my Senior year. I've successfully done the 12 days of Christmas for two years and I'm going to try my hardest to keep up with this year as well. Last year was a bad year for motivation, it was a bad year in general, but I'm hoping to make it through this year since it might be my last, not as a fanfiction writer but as a college student doing crazy challenges and the like.

I'm very, very excited to tackle these stories and these fandoms. I hope you enjoy this year's contribution and that maybe you're motivated to go back and read the previous year's Christmas fics.

This is set before the events of the Christmas special and features a polycule that I will NEVER explain or apologize for. Tobin Batra was made to be polyamorous.

Zoey hadn't been invited to Tobin's Christmas party, but honestly that didn't upset her too much. She figured it was just his close personal friends, as from what she'd heard Leif, McKenzie, and George were the primary guests of honor. They'd probably play DnD or something. It wasn't that much of a loss to her, until Tatiana asked her if she was going to Tobin's Christmas party when they ran into each other at Zoey's new regular coffee shop.

"Uh, no. Are you?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm going as Simon's date. Sort of." Zoey didn't have the time to question "sort of" because she was already thrown off by the fact that Simon was invited to Tobin's super secret and super exclusive Christmas party.

"Huh, okay, cool. Have fun, I guess."

"Don't feel too bad," Tatiana said quickly, "It'll probably be a drag."

"Yeah, no, don't worry, I don't feel bad," Zoey promised, "I've got plenty of stuff to do before Christmas anyway."

"Of course. Well, have a happy holiday! See you around." They took their coffees and headed in separate directions, Tatiana quickly forgetting the exchange and Zoey unable to think about anything else until she got to work and had the chance to bring it up.

"Hey, Simon?"

"What's up?"

"Are you going to Tobin's Christmas party?"

"Who told you that?" Simon said with a nervous laugh.

"Tatiana."

"Damn it, you weren't supposed to find out…"

"Find out what? That you're more popular with Tobin and Leif than I am? That's no surprise. The surprise is that more than three people are going to his party."

"Well, it is a very small party. That's why you weren't invited, Zoey, it's nothing personal. It's just… Not a normal party."

Zoey's eyes widened, "Oh my gosh, you're going to a key party."

"No! It's hard to explain but it is not that. Tobin!"

Tobin, who had been browsing the decked out cereal bar a moment earlier, popped over.

"What's up, my man?"

"Not my fault, but Zoey found out about the Christmas party."

"How much does she know?" They talked as if she wasn't there.

"Not much, she thinks it's a key party."

"How do you know what a key party is?" Tobin asked.

"You don't know me," Zoey said.

"Is it because of The Grinch?" Simon guessed.

"Yes," Zoey grumbled.

"I need to rewatch The Grinch," Tobin said thoughtfully.

"Anyway, can you clear things up for Zoey? So she doesn't think that I'm going to a Christmas key party?"

"Sure. Zoey, why don't you drop by real quick, long enough to have a drink and see what my poly jolly Christmas party is all about "

"Did you just say-"

"Holly jolly? Yes. How are you familiar with key parties but not the phrase holly jolly? You're weird, Zoey. Anyway, I'll text you the details if you keep it on the down low."

"Okay. It is just a Christmas party though, right?"

Tobin chuckled, "You'll see."

Zoey was a little nervous, to say the least. She'd asked if she needed to bring anything, or if she could bring Max, and had been told no on both accounts. But she couldn't exactly hide everything from her boyfriend, so she kept it on the down low with the exception of Max.

"I might be going to a sex party tomorrow."

"Zo, they're called gender reveals."

"No, like, a real and legitimate sex party. A key party or some flavor of that. I obviously won't do anything, pretty sure I'm only going to be there for a drink, but… I just thought I'd let you know."

"Whose sex party are you going to?" Max was equal parts surprised and amused.

"I'm not allowed to say that."

"Well, okay, now I'm even more concerned than if you hadn't told me, but I trust you. Have fun, I guess." Max kissed her gently before rolling over and going to sleep. Zoey stayed up a little longer, thinking about all the questions she had and wondering if she was prepared to learn the answers.

Nothing in the whole world could prepare her for Tobin's Christmas party. She showed up at 7 like he told her to and found out that she was the last person to arrive. There were no keys in sight but it did seem to be a very cozy Christmas party. To the extent that when she glanced over at the host he was practically on George's lap. What was even weirder than that was that Tobin was sober.

"Zoey! You made it!" Tobin hopped up and came over right after Leif let her in. Leif had a smudged lipstick kiss on his cheek and McKenzie had smudged makeup and Zoey had a lot of questions.

"Yeah, I've got to say… With all the secrecy and hubbub, I was expecting something a little weirder than this." Simon and Tatiana, Leif, McKenzie, George, and one man Zoey didn't know but who seemed to be with George, were the only other guests, and they were just milling about with drinks while White Christmas played in the background.

"Well, it very well could be a normal Christmas party," Tobin said with a shrug, handing Zoey a cup that appeared to be full of hard cider, "But since you went through all the trouble of dressing up and dropping by I'll let you in on the secret."

Zoey took a sip and almost spit it out when Tobin revealed his secret.

"I'm dating nearly everyone in this room."

"What?!?" Zoey asked when she managed to swallow her drink and her surprise, eyes widening a little.

"Yeah. With the exception of Tatiana and George's boyfriend, I'm dating everyone in the room. It's our polycule Christmas party. That's why you weren't invited. Because you're not dating me or one of my partners."

"Okay- you know what? I can buy that, Tobin, I can buy that you're dating Leif and McKenzie and George but Simon?"

"Are you surprised because you think he's out of my league or surprised because you dated him first and now he's dating me?"

"Would you be offended if I said both?"

"Not at all. It's surprising to find out when people swing both ways but Simon and I have something solid. I think we all do, all," Tobin did a quick head count, "five of us."

"Well, uh, I'm happy for you, Tobin. Really. Thank you for the invite and the drink. I'll leave you to your partners and your mistletoe."

"Oh! We haven't actually made use of the mistletoe, that's a good idea! Bye, Zoey, Merry Christmas!"

"Merry Christmas, Tobin. Merry Christmas, Tobin's lovers." Zoey couldn't help but chuckle to herself in surprise when she said that, but she was truly happy for all of them.

"How was your sex party?" Max asked when she got home that night.

"Oh, it wasn't… But good. It was good. A little odd, but nice."

"Well, your whole Christmas thing is a little odd to me."

"I know, babe. But that's just because I haven't taught you about mistletoe yet."

"I'd be willing to learn…" Max said, leaning over and kissing her. Zoey quickly and eagerly kissed back, forgetting her questions and curiosities about Tobin's relationship and focusing solely on hers for the rest of the evening.
