"Thoma?"
Ayaka went outside to see her friend at the request of Thoma. He said it was a very important thing he had to say to her, Ayaka hoped it wasn't going to be too bad, as Thoma hadn't been acting the same after he lost his vision to the Vision Hunt Decree. Ayaka's worried face started to manifest as Thoma was standing awfully close to the edge of that cliff. She heard his words mutter, "I'm sorry my lady, I can't go on… This world is cruel... but I hope you can find something to bring you happiness... without me." With those final words, Thoma threw his body over the edge of the cliff overlooking the Kamisato Estate and the great wide sea that surrounded Inazuma.
"NO!" Ayaka sprinted with all her might and reached out her hand to try and grab Thoma before he went over, but it was too late, Thoma disappeared into the foggy mist of the gloomy day, a thud being heard echoing through the air as the rain began to drip from the ceiling. A flashing strike of lightning plagued the sky and the roar of thunder made the ground shake a little. "Thoma…" Ayaka falls to her knees, tears bawling down her eyes, devastated by the loss of her friend. It all escalated from bad to the worst possible outcome when Thoma lost his vision just a few days ago. Ayaka knew that losing a vision would cause a person's ambition to be lost too, but for Thoma to end up committing suicide, it was the worst nightmare Ayaka could ever have. "THOMAAAAAA!" Ayaka's cries echoed even louder than the lightning, the screams of her pure voice, now tainted with despair and anguish. The lightning that always made Ayaka wonder about what the Raiden Shogun could be thinking no longer mattered, there was a tyrant ruling Inazuma and whatever her reasoning, she MUST be brought down. Ayaka was left out in the rain with her tears mixing with the grassy floor, Ayaka wanted to just throw herself off the cliff to join Thoma, but there was a bigger feeling deep in her aching heart. Revenge, she would avenge Thoma by any means necessary, even if she has to drive her blade through the heart of every blind follower of the Shogun one by one.
A few hours of soaking herself in the rain and tears, Ayaka picked herself up and went down to the beachside, hopefully she could find Thoma's body before it's washed away by the sea.

"Urgh…! Everyone, stay strong! We will push through!" Kokomi and the resistance were confronting the Shogun's army on the front lines. However, it seemed like the Shogun's army was getting more violent with each encounter, this time they brought more members than Kokomi anticipated and the battle was slowly being lost.
Gorou and Kujou Sara were duking it out in a close-range brawl despite them both being archers. "ARGH!" Gorou goes in for a bit of a risky play, using his hand to shove an arrow into Sara's body like a dagger, but he barely misses as Sara seemed to have the exact same idea and struck only a second or two before he did. "I commend you for pushing me this far." Sara twists the arrowhead that had pierced Gorou's chest, penetrating deep into his body and piercing his heart with a harsh cold metal.
"Eternity just shined on me today." Sara says as she removes the arrowhead from Gorou, letting his limp body fall to the floor. He was bleeding out really quickly, only a few seconds to his life remaining as Sara stood victorious over the opposing general. Sara kept her eyes on Gorou just to give him a proper send-off in a few seconds.
"GOROU!" Kokomi was at Gorou's side in mere moments, she didn't give a second thought to putting herself in harm's way of Sara's potential attacks while she was in a panicked state. "Gorou, speak to me." Kokomi rests Gorou's head in her arms as she pleaded for him to be okay, but she knew he was done for, such a fatal injury would have killed him instantly, were he not as strong as he was. Kokomi's eyes meet Gorou's half-open ones, he was fading fast and it was like a horror movie to Kokomi's eyes.
"Excellency… no… Kokomi..." Gorou's voice was weak, it was clear he hardly had any strength to speak, let alone move any further. Kokomi looked at her dying friend with widened eyes and a gasping voice, not believing this would happen so soon. "Save… Inazuma… I know you can… you're amazing..." The last bit of life fades from Gorou, leaving his body a corpse and dying in the arms of the one he admired most. "Gorou… no… no…!" Kokomi's voice stuttered, her unable to speak or even scream at the feeling that her most trusted lieutenant and friend was now gone. Kokomi held Gorou's body close to her, not wanting to let go, even if she would die in the next coming moments, she wanted nothing else, but to hold him.
"I offer my deepest sympathies to you, Sangonomiya-san. He was a worthy opponent and not too different from me. It's a shame we ended up on different sides, as are you and I." Sara says, keeping a stern face, but her tone had shifted to actually show that she had some real regret, killing Gorou like this. However, the Shogun's orders to Sara were absolute, there was no other way it could end. "Arrest her." Sara says as she commands her men to take Kokomi alive, as Sara didn't want to waste such talent such as Kokomi's, Sara saw fit to potentially get Kokomi to see things her way, or even so, a life in prison would be better than a death sentence.
As men surrounded Kokomi holding onto Gorou's body, Kokomi swung her arms rapidly. "No! Don't touch him!" Kokomi summons a torrent of water around herself and Gorou that blows back everyone from said torrent. When the torrent clears, Kokomi and Gorou are gone completely, vanished and retreated back to Watatsumi Island. With Kokomi's departure and Gorou gone, the rest of the resistance soldiers are forced to retreat back to the island as well. Since Watatsumi Island is a massive home-field advantage for the resistance, Sara knew better than to follow them there without a proper plan. Sara knew that Kokomi's distraught will likely lead the resistance to crumble eventually, it was only a matter of time now since the resistance lost both a high-ranking general and the mental stability of their leader.
Present…
Funerals for Thoma and Gorou were held a few days after their passings, there wasn't much time to actually prepare all that much due to the war still being relevant.
On Watatsumi Island, Kokomi had doubled down on defenses. Everyone on Watatsumi Island was on alert, waiting for the Shogunate army to come. Kokomi had been grieving for several days, but she was also more determined than ever to win the war, but there also was a hint within her new way of acting, a hint that she wasn't the same anymore.
Sangonomiya Shrine… Main Building
"Yes, we'll make sure the supplies get to where they should. Thank you for the help." Kokomi and Ayaka were in the building together as they were negotiating with their newest benefactor, Scaramouche, the 6th of the 11 Fatui Harbingers.
"Heh, excellent." Scaramouche says with his face grinning from side to side. In reality, Scaramouche had no intention of helping these two, but rather taking advantage of their emotional states after losing their loved ones. Delusions will soon be selling by the truckloads and all it took was a few supplies provided in addition. Funny how Inazuma was a broken mess of a nation when you get down to what goes on behind the scenes. Although, it was interesting how Kokomi found and sought him out on her own accord, as the original plan was for the Fatui to remain in the shadows, still it wasn't too big a deal for them if Kokomi was that desperate for help. After all was said and done, Scaramouche leaves the shrine with the plan the Fatui had going in full motion, soon Inazuma would be nothing more than a profit for them regardless of who won the war.
Once Scaramouche left, Kokomi turned to a resistance soldier also in the room. "Make sure to put all the supplies received from the Fatui through precise examinations. We can't risk anything." The soldier nods and then goes off to inform the rest of the resistance handling transactions about what Kokomi said. They needed to be sure they weren't using something that could sabotage them. Kokomi didn't trust the Fatui at all, as she should, but she was hoping they could help them enough to win the war and then they could reap the rewards afterwards. Kokomi was willing to sacrifice a lot of Inazuma's wealth if it meant bringing the Shogun down, which was luckily all the Fatui cared about to her knowledge.
"Are the preparations ready?" Kokomi turned to Ayaka and asked. Ayaka answers with a nod and the two of them look at a large map of Inazuma. A few flags stuck out of the map, showcasing where Kokomi had placed platoons of soldiers.
"We're ready. Today is the first step to the Shogun's fall." Ayaka says as they both gaze at a flag located at the Grand Narukami Shrine. There was no more honor in this war, it turned into win by any means necessary after Thoma and Gorou died.
Kokomi walked around the table and placed another flag on Tenshukaku, the stronghold of the Raiden Shogun. "What do you want to do with that bitch once we get our hands on her?" Kokomi asked Ayaka with a dark look on her face, it's clear that her normal attitude of politeness and cuteness had been turned upside down in the last few weeks.
"Words haven't been invented yet." Ayaka says with poison in her tongue, she can't believe she ever had faith in the monster that was the Raiden Shogun. People dying, suffering and agonizing while she just turned a blind eye and said it was all for 'eternity.' That was total bullshit and Ayaka and Kokomi now understood it, the Shogun was nothing more than a greedy, self-centered tyrant who abused her position and power to rule over people who could not challenge her and gained a blind loyalty from those who still thought she was still the Shogun of the past who ruled with kindness.
In the room, Kaedehara Kazuha was listening in on the two girls' conversation. He too had a friend who died as a result of the Shogun's actions, but never did he think of inflicting the worst he could think of on the Shogun herself. Kazuha was never a man to hold a grudge, and his friend knew the risk of challenging the Shogun to a duel before the throne, but Kazuha did still agree that Inazuma needed to change. It wasn't his place to tell Ayaka or Kokomi, who were clearly hurt beyond belief, to stop their quest.
"This is a strike against you, oh Almighty Shogun. A strike of retribution...!" The two girls declared.
