"Put on your mittens naughty Kitten. You know we're supposed to meet Zoe at the park in a little bit," I tell Cat Noir, my best friend and partner.
Cat's green eyes gleam wickedly. "If I don't put them on, does that mean I'm not getting pie?" he asks, innocently. "I wouldn't push your luck."
Cat quickly grabs his green mittens and puts them on. "I like pie. Don't take it," he says. "You can have a snack later," I say, tugging on my purple mittens. "Are those new, Princess?" Cat asks, admiring my outfit. "Yeah, I just got them done last night."
I grab his blue scarf and wrap it tightly around his neck. He pretends to cough. "Don't choke me!" he teases. "What was in your coffee this morning?" I ask, as we head downstairs and out onto the sidewalk.
The sky is a special blue today, and its cold, but not to cold. I tuck my arm through Cat's as we walk together. "Well, there was water. And beans. Ooh, and cream!"
"So, a normal cup of coffee, then?" "I wouldn't describe myself as normal, Princess." "How would you then?" "Dunno. Loves Cat puns, meowing…" "being annoying?" I mutter under my breath.
"So, is this on your profile picture on Twitter?" I ask. Cat blushes. "Tell me," I say. "Well, I recently changed it so I have a fish in my mouth."
I giggle. "Oh, Kitty. How are you expecting girls to find you attractive?" I ask. "I don't need a girl. She's right beside me," Cat smiles at me.
Okay, I can't argue with that. And he's the best partner a girl could have. "There's Zoe," I say, waving.
She looks pretty in her yellow coat. "How's it going, you two?" she asks. "Someone's had a lot of caffeine this morning," I say.
Cat puts his nose in the air. "Some call it caffeine, I call it happiness." "I saw your profile pic, Cat. It was adorable." I groan. "Zoe! Don't encourage him! If he does that again, it will feel like kissing a fish!"
"Cats and water usually don't mix, Princess," Cat chuckles. Wait for it. "Unless its a catfish!" Zoe bursts out laughing. "Your so lucky, Marinette." I smile at Zoe. "You want him?" Cat chucks a snowball at me and retreats.
We chase after each other around the park, though its hard to run when your laughing so hard. Soon, we flop down in the snow making snow angels.
With his blond hair, Cat could be angel, if not for his black suit. That's the thing about Cat. He's just too cute to get mad at, no matter how hard you try.
His tail makes a heart-shape. I stare up into the sky, where the puffy clouds look like cotton balls. Cat helps me stand up, giving my hand a little squeeze.
I surprise him by wrapping my arms around his waist and kissing him. It is a slow, long kiss. Finally, I pull back, touching his cheek. I love him so much. I decide to flirt with him. I tap my finger to my lips, pretending I'm thinking hard about the kiss we just shared. "Well, how was it?" he asks. "Well, you didn't have fish breath, so I'd say, that's a win."
Zoe, Cat and I make a snowman, and soon we are covered in snow. "Anyone up to Starbucks?" I ask. My black hair is wet and cold, and I am in need of a warm drink. "I'm up for that."
Cat walks ahead of us, to give us some privacy. "He's looks so happy today, Marinette. What have you been feeding him? "Cat nip," I joke. "I'm glad he's happy," I say, all joking aside. "But what I've been giving him is love."
For awhile, I was so busy with Ladybug duties, and sewing, it was hard to make time for Cat. I realized that I shouldn't be doing that. Cat's father makes no time for him, and I vowed awhile ago I wouldn't do the same thing.
I'm still busy sure, but now we try to spend a hour or so a day together, if not more. I was happy before I met Cat, even happy before I got my Miraculous.
But when Cat entered my world, a door opened. Finally, I had someone to talk to besides my journal, that I could open up to, without being judged.
Cat holds the door open for us. "After you, ladies." I take Cat's hand in mine as we walk over to the counter. I try the Cloud Macciato, a new drink on the menu and Cat and I decide to share a blueberry scone.
Zoe gets a hazelnut latte, and we walk over to the window. "Look at the snow coming down!" Cat says. "Looks like powered sugar."
"Kitty, if you stood there with your mouth open to catch the snowflakes, pretty soon you'd be a snowman." "Yeah, but then you'd feed me warm soup."
"You like Mom's chicken corn chowder best, right?" "That's the one! Do you think she'd make it again soon?" He looks so hopeful, and I ruffle his wet hair. "I think that can be arranged."
This day is almost perfect. Friends, warm drinks, snow, love. What could be better then hanging out with the people you love?
"I got a Christmas movie," Zoe tells us. "After we finish up here, did you want to watch it?" "That sounds great!" I tell her.
Later, we make popcorn at Zoe's, and then enjoy the movie. Cat and I snuggle in the blanket together, my head resting against his shoulder.
Today, Cat and I can relax, and be ourselves. I can't tell what Zoe watches more, a movie or Cat's and my constant banter.
His eyes are glowing and happy, and that makes me happy too. I think if you can make even one person smile per day, then that's a great accomplishment. Cat falls asleep later against my shoulder as Zoe and I are talking. I lay his head on my lap, stroking his now dry gently.
"Today was great, wasn't it, Cat? Now aren't you glad you put on those mittens this morning?" Cat opens one eye then shuts it, responding. "That may be true, Princess. But I'm always your naughty Kitten."
